There is no way of being polite about it; the spineless, hypocritical leaders of most western liberal democracies are s**t scared of Islam and its demented followers. Only this can explain the furore surrounding President Trump’s partial but temporary fulfilment of an election promise (novel that, a politician keeping a promise). Much has been made of the travel ban imposed on a number of what are emotively being labelled Muslim majority countries. Protests thrive within the USA and around the worldbut where is the equality of condemnation about another of his pledges; to build a wall along the US southern border to deter migrants and criminals from overwhelmingly Christian countries?
If we are to believe what we see on our TV screens, we are now ruled by emotion not intellect. The double-standard, hysterical luvvies, the lefties and the loonies, who have nothing better to do, take to the streets to shout, condemn, criticise, protest and bleed tears for all to see, only to produce enough hot air to affect climate change.
Trump’s decision is attacked as being rooted in prejudice and ignorance. Excuse me? How can any right thinking person believe that when Islam is, by a long stretch, the most prejudiced, ignorant and blinkered so-called ‘religion’ on the face of this planet. It is a clear and present danger to any society that believes in freedom of speech, freedom of thought, gender equalityand respect for the laws, customs and traditions of a host nation. Even so, how do our ‘leaders’ respond? By sucking up, in the most humiliating way, to the adherents of Islam who, given half a chance and when their numbers are sufficient, mean to do us harm.
The attack on a mosque in Quebec brought this reaction from Prime Minister Trudeau:
“We condemn this terrorist attack on Muslims in a centre of worship and refuge. While authorities are still investigating and details continue to be confirmed, it is heart-wrenching to see such senseless violence. Diversity is our strength, and religious tolerance is a value that we, as Canadians, hold dear”.
With that he made it clear that Canada is, by contrast to America, open and welcoming.
The mosque’s president, Mohamed Yangui, asked. “Why is this happening here? This is barbaric”. What an undeserved sense of injustice he feels when his co-religionists around the world are inflicting similar but often much worse acts of barbarism on others, most especially Christians.
Did Trudeau, or any other western leader, ever issue such vehement disapproval of the heart-wrenching, senseless violence when Coptic Christians were being killed in Egypt? Did they ever pronounce on the forced conversion of the schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram?
Merkel and Hollande are dutifully appalled and say they are willing to take more newcomers. What insanity! The sooner we can leave the tentacles of the EU, the sooner we’ll be away from idiots like them who are blindly signing the death warrant of their respective democracies and taking us with them. It is now patently clear that the Christian base of our western nations is being sacrificed for some hoped for but unknown reward or as penitence to assuage the memory of the crusades and imperial adventure. Then, of course, there’s our dependency on oil from, and arms’ sales to, Muslim majority countries. Protest, anybody?
Trump’s election and the fast track enactment of his pledges is shaking the democracy tree whose roots have been weakened through lack of nourishment and care. What falls from the branches and the eventual consequences, it is too early to say.
Brexit and Trump’s election have been dismissed as a result of the rise of populist movements. Populist? By which one means those which appeal to the population? Now there’s an idea.
We must hope that the forthcoming elections in France, The Netherlands and Germany produce people whose vision is not clouded by dewy-eyed sentimentality or abstract notions for some ideal world order but can see, and deal with, the world the way it is. Perhaps then we will get leaders worthy of the title.
Appeasement never works.
