1918-2018  We will remember them.

This year, on the 100th Anniversary of the WW1 Armistice, 11th November will fall on a Sunday – meaning that Remembrance Services will be held exactly 100 years to the day after the guns fell silent all along the Western Front.

Remembrance Sunday 2018 is sure to be a special occasion, and it is really important that UKIP Veterans, Parliamentary Candidates, Councillors, and Branch Representatives participate in Wreath Laying Ceremonies throughout the South West.

Arrangements vary. In urban constituencies there may just be one larger Remembrance Service at the city or town Cenotaph.

Rural constituencies may have several ceremonies at various market towns and villages.

If you are not sure what happens in your area please check with your local branch of the Royal British Legion or with your local District, Borough or City Council.

Medals, if appropriate, are worn. Most people just wear dark clothing, but if wreath layers so wish in the case of widows, children and grandchildren of deceased veterans medals may also be worn on the opposite side to the side on which they are worn by veterans.

UKIP numbers many veterans and their families among its members and supporters.

Please return that trust and loyalty – and belief in Britain – demonstrated by them by laying a wreath on behalf of UKIP in your area to honour the men and women who have put their lives on the line –  and in many cases given their lives – for this country.

UKIP branded wreaths can be purchased from the Royal British Legion for approx £20 each

Thank you,

Richard, Chairman, UKIP South West
