The official foundation of the Progressive Alliance was held on the 22 May 2013 in Leipzig with the stated aim of becoming the global network of “the progressive, democratic, social-democratic, socialist and labour movement”.
I thought I was reasonably clued up in politics, more so than most but, I’d never heard of the Progressive Alliance until a couple of months ago. How many others, like me, the Common Man or even the Liberal Elite have ever heard of the Progressive Alliance? I’ll wager, not many.
I’d never taken much notice of the word ‘Progressive’ until it started to be used in a political context.
Progressive. That’s new I thought. That sounds good and positive. But then, thinking about it, Labour politicians, labour activists, the liberal elite, the media, all coin the word ‘Progressive’ too easily. They claim the ‘progressive’ moral high ground for a positive entity of all that is good, all light and sunshine. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. That made me challenge it.
At the risk of overstating it, the British public are being hoodwinked by the greatest global political conspiracy of all time with the introduction of Progressive Alliance Policies into UK politics by extreme left wing Socialists and Communists in Corbyn’s Labour Party.
The American actor Jon Voight summed up ‘Progressive’:
“[…] the left’s current embrace of the term “progressive” smacks of something else.I think the word ‘progressive’ is a very devious term. It was created as a substitute for ‘communist. What they propose is the reverse of progress. It’s something that does taste of communism and Karl Marx’s pernicious philosophy.”
Rather than accept at face value Voight’s statement, think and challenge it. The more I looked, the more I’m convinced Voight’s statement is right.
The Labour Party under Corbyn, with the support of Momentum, are leading the well-meaning though gullible voting public well and truly up a very appealing garden path, claiming the moral high ground in doing so. Particularly so the younger generation who’ve only ever experienced being governed by a UK Parliament which has been a puppet to the Laws, Rules and Regulations of Brussels and an EU Commission – an EU Commission which is, to all intents and purposes, a very remote, unelected Group Dictatorship of left-wing Socialists and Communists of little interest to anyone, as clearly demonstrated by abysmal polling results for UK MEP Elections.
For example, just how is UK Sovereignty served by an unelected EU Commissioner, Federica Mogherini, who is a born and bred Italian Communist, speaking on behalf of all UK Voters, on Foreign Affairs? Mogherini’s predecessor Baroness Ashton, whose previous job was Administrator and National Treasurer for the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), was never voted for by the British people for the position of High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. Ex CND in charge of EU Security Policy? You’ve got to be joking! Absolutely ridiculous.
Take a look at:
1) The Global Progressive Alliance with 140 participants from around the world including the UK Labour Party and the EU,
Along with 31 other Socialists and Communists from around the world, Iain McNicol is on the Board of the Global Progressive Alliance as well as being the General Secretary of the Labour Party. The Brussels Representatives on the Board are Gianni Pittella, Group of Socialists & Democrats and Sergei Stanishev, Party of European Socialists (PES)
3) The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) in the European Parliament
5) Compass Together for a good society | Compass
Owen Jones describes himself as a “fourth-generation socialist”, often interviewed on BBC political programs. I’d call him a Neo-Communist. From Wikipedia, Jones has a lovely family background where his grandfather was involved with the Communist Party and his parents met as members of the Trotskyist Militant tendency.
Compass are about to launch the Common Platform. Put simply, the platform will enable thousands of people to come together and create a new vision that the Progressive Alliance will stand on – whenever the next election is:
‘It is by bringing people together, with their ideas and their projects, that the Common Platform will make radical change happen.’
But, I ask myself, why another title? What ‘Radical change’?
All of which begs the question, just whose Agenda is Corbyn, the Labour Party and Momentum working to? They have representation in the Global Progressive Alliance with Iain McNicol who is General Secretary of the Labour Party; representation in the EU Progressive Alliance, representation and support of Momentum, representation and support in Compass, Representation in the soon to be created Common Platform, the International Communist Party, the UK Communist Party.
Talk about ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. There’s so much smoke I can barely see the mirror!
I believe Left Wing Socialists/Communists have recognised the risk of being branded extremist and, under Corbyn and John McDonnell, are hijacking a once respectable Labour Party to introduce a Neo-Communist Agenda by the back door, under the guise of a Progressive Alliance supported by Momentum and Compass. If sufficiently interested, look it up yourself. Look for the connections. Do your own research. Apart from the above links, there’s the Progressive Alliance on You Tube.
If proof were needed, see the following extract from the latest Compass newsletter:
‘This year, you decided that enough was enough. You decided that it was time for people like us, people who believe in the positive power of progressive politics, to stand up and to stand together. And together, here in the UK at least, we have halted the march of a nasty self-serving brand of right-wing politics that runs right through the Tories, UKIP and the DUP. Sure, we haven’t got rid of them yet, but we have called time on them. Compass has always sought to admire, respect and work with the beautiful complexity of progressive thought and ideas. Our journey started in the Labour Party, and that party still matters, but it never sought to end there. We could see the trends on the horizon. One party can’t possibly meet and overcome all the multiple challenges we face.’
‘Admire, respect and work with the beautiful complexity of progressive thought and ideas’ – what bloody-minded nonsense! Smoke and Mirrors more likely!
‘One Party can’t possibly meet and overcome etc, etc’ – Corbyn’s Labour Party has already introduced Momentum to the British people which is gaining acceptance in the UK. What next? A spin off to The Progressive Alliance Party or Compass? Three Party’s, Labour, Momentum and Compass all working to one Global Progressive Alliance Agenda?
But think and challenge it yourself.
Make up your own mind. Do not become one of the gullible to be taken in by the warm words and promises of Corbyn, the Labour Party, the Green Party, left wing Socialists, Communists or rabid Europhiles such as Clegg and Cable (LibDems) and Clarke and Heseltine (Tories), who’d sell you out at the drop of a hat to Brussels. Where are the investigative media reports?
Think and challenge!
