Dear Fellow UKIP Members,
Local Election Manifesto 2018
This is especially for the attention of our candidates but will be of interest to all our members.
Local elections are about local issues but also provide an opportunity to vote on national issues.
Our UKIP candidates will stand on local issues but they also give voters a chance to vote on some of the big issues that UKIP stands for, e.g.:
- Brexit – a complete exit from the European Union. Brexit Means Exit!
- Immigration – An end to the age of mass uncontrolled immigration, and its replacement with a controlled and limited immigration system.
- An economy that works for all – policies that produce jobs, homes and a decent standard of living for all.
If local elections are taking place in your area then please do what you can to help your local UKIP candidate. Contact your local branch for details.
Yours sincerely,
Gerard Batten MEP
UKIP Leader

UKIP ACTION DAY – DUDLEY BOROUGH – 28th April 2018
UKIP Dudley Borough is aiming for a high profile on Saturday 28th April, with a town centre presence in a minimum of Dudley, Stourbridge, Halesowen.
We hope to see YI in some numbers, backing up local members and anyone else who can give us a hand.
We will have a market stand in Dudley and would like this manned from 10 am till 2 pm.
We welcome all UKIP members and supporters as we defend six council seats.
Surely the Local Election Manifesto should be location specific whilst being compliant with the national policies?
I appreciate that the local election manifesto was prepared at short notice, but I hope that when I stand for re-election next year that we can produce something more relevant for working people
Short notice is no excuse; the lack of preparation for an event known months in advance is simply abysmal. The good members of UKIP deserve far better that they have been getting over the years.
GB has an enormous task in front of him to make make UKIP both effective and professional.
I agree but don’t think that we can blame Gerrard. I have been a district and county councillor for a number of years. I currently serve as a member of cabinet. In all this time no member of the hierarchy have ever asked for my input into local council policy
Incredible. Herein lies the problem of UKIP. If Gerard can achieve one thing, only one thing, it is to break this rotten culture of the top team being self-selecting, dominated by lazy MEPs and totally cut off from the grassroots.
