I’m used to seeing our Westminster MSM indulge in hypocrisy, in deflections, in unisono propaganda, but never have I witnessed all of them producing all of those in their one weekend issue. The worst of it are the blatant double standards.

The headlines on Saturday evening and on Sunday abounded with screams about ‘thugs’, all of course ‘extreme far right’. An unbiased reader might have thought that the pro-Hamas demos were shining examples of gentle kindness. After all, the police surely had a reason to be so harsh with yon white, pro-England demonstrators. Throwing fireworks at Jewish families leaving their synagogue in London: aww, that’s nothing to worry about.

All of this was a fine example of the Westminster poshies and their shire extensions – all the WFHers, you know – finally finding a common reason to display their upset and fine manners: it’s not the done thing to stand with ‘right wing thugs’! That’s what “we” need to be concerned about, not the pro-Hamas, islamic hordes littering London, defacing war memorials in English towns.

And so, having made out that thugs and haters are the white English ‘underclasses’, having made it clear that anti-semitism is not hate and isn’t racist, the Audi Avenue dwellers, metropolitan Left and their MSM mouthpieces have homed in on Ms Suella Braverman, the ‘acceptable’ scapegoat.

This is a fine example of deflection: how can the Met police, how can Khan as Mayor of London, be held responsible for allowing the hateful, anti-semitic demos when surely everybody knows that they’d have stayed at home had Ms Braverman not spoken! Never mind that comment posts across the MSM demonstrate that she has said what the majority of people outside the M25 think! Never mind that during the weeks since the 7th of October we’ve seen antisemitic hate in full display on our streets. Just look at this brief video clip.

This is not hate, you understand, this is unimportant. Moreover, the august, anti-racist and feminist Times has permitted this disgusting cartoon to be published. There was no outcry by the left about this, so it’s clearly not racist misogyny by some English thug.

Thus it cannot have been a terrible surprise when our Westminster press made sure that everybody knew that surely all those ‘extreme far hard right thugs’ only came because of Ms Braverman, that they would’ve stayed at home had she not spoken. We were given to understand that none of the anti-semitic demonstrators would have dared to disturb the brief service and two-minute silence at the Cenotaph on Saturday 11th November had Ms B kept quiet.

Here’s proof, out of their own mouths, with Mr Khan declaring that “London violence ‘direct result’ of Braverman’s words, says Khan” (paywalled link), the “London violence’ only cause by yon ‘thugs’. Next, we have Mr Starmer producing a sickening piece for the DT on the same issue, also published on the evening of Saturday, 11th November 2023:

“Suella Braverman has set herself against the very values Britain fought for – Few people in public life have done more recently to whip up division or sow the seeds of hatred” (paywalled link)

See how this works? There was no hate displayed on the streets of London until Ms B spoke … never mind the videos and images previously shown in the MSM. No ‘English thugs’ would’ve come out had Ms B not spoken …

I’ll not spare you the words of Mr Starmer because they exemplarily document the double standards, the deflections and hypocrisy the Westminster elites and their posh adherents in the shires are so fond of. Starmer warbles about ‘respect’:

“There is another value that has been lacking in the current debate: respect. It would be deplorable if this weekend’s protests impinged on other’s desire to pay respect to Britain’s fallen. That should be a simple matter of courtesy and decency.” (paywalled link)

Yes, well – we know, do we not, who was discourteous, who did not show respect: who can forget the deplorable photos of Hamas sympathisers surrounding poppy-sellers, intimidating and shouting at them. Clearly, in the eyes of the Left this did not ‘impinge on other’s desire to pay respect’. It gets worse:

“Equally, the Home Secretary and the Prime Minister’s treatment of the police and protestors alike this week […] betray a total lack of respect for this country’s values and its principles. Few people in public life have done more recently to whip up division, set the British people against one another and sow the seeds of hatred and distrust than Suella Braverman. In doing so, she demeans her office.” (paywalled link)

He didn’t say what these ‘values and principles’ are. Can we assume that he means throwing fireworks at police officers is such a value? Or that shouting the pro-Hamas slogan is a sign of respect, of ‘this country’s principles’? He concludes with the most vapid sentence imaginable:

“She also sets her face against the very values that Britain has fought for: values that the rest of the country will pay tribute to this weekend.” (paywalled link)

Did he mean the ceremony at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Sunday? Apparently we’ve now got to a point where we peasants out in the sticks are only permitted to gawp at our Westminster ’Betters’ who make a show of their virtue on our behalf, e.g. on this year’s Remembrance Sunday, provided we keep quiet and don’t dare to demonstrate for our values. These values are apparently those of ‘hard right extreme thugs’ so cannot be countenanced and any who dare to voice them in public, like MS B, is to be condemned.

That’s all I have for today. It’s important to keep the record of the shocking display of double standards, on top of the usual hypocrisy and deflections, produced this weekend by the Westminster MSM  Lest we forget …
