When ‘the elite’ takes a warning as instruction to implement

Every morning, armed with my trusty mug of coffee, I open the pages of the MSM in the vain hope of finding a crumb of common sense in the guff yon ‘elite’ presents to us as daily fare in their propaganda drive – and every morning I find nothing at all. However, this morning I found evidence for the MSM ‘playing Orwell’. Is it on purpose or are they too illiterate to notice?

It’s not just the writers and editors who are to blame, the ‘institutions’ and ‘sources’ are equally at fault. I’m not even going to mention the writers of opinion pieces – spinning and providing ‘right think’ to the masses is their job. But something is clearly seriously wrong when the Westminster press is on yet another ‘crusade’.

For starters, see the print editions’ front pages: “Newspaper headlines: ‘£900m fuel rip off’ and ‘flaming June’.” (link):  superstores ripping off customers? Now that’s news! So much so that iNews felt driven to lead with an article about 67% people wanting a cap on supermarket prices. Funny how none of those ‘crusaders’ have been howling about energy firms ripping off customers ever since the obscene price hikes starting in autumn 2021.

But wait a moment: is’t expensive fuel a good thing because it makes people change to EVs or indeed bikes? Isn’t that what the Net Zeroists want? Have car drivers become so dumbed down that they are now incapable of using all those wonderful ‘price comparison’ apps?

Then there’s the expected howl about ‘climate change’ because June was, for once, ‘flaming’. Obviously, having a lovely summer is anathema – we need rain and gloom to accompany the mood preferred by the Westminster press. Look at this headline in the DM: “Thousands of fish are killed by the warmest June on record as they ‘boil’ in temperatures hotter than 1976 – with climate change to blame” (link).

I cannot recall any reports in the MSM during that time, of ‘boiling’ rivers and masses of dead fish! Not to be outdone in the ‘boiling’ race, there’s also this: “The Royal Horticultural Society warned some plants have ‘boiled’ as their roots have been left in water while they were being planted.” (link) – I’m simply speechless! Who plants plants in June? And shouldn’t we be told how many people ‘boiled’ to death during these glorious weeks?

In another piece of utter inanity there’s a report about research done by a History professor. Under the headline “The three classic British sitcoms that forecast Brexit” we read in the DT (all emphases are mine):

“Classic BBC sitcoms Dad’s Army, Fawlty Towers and ‘Allo ‘Allo, from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, hold clues as to why Britain voted for Brexit, an academic has suggested. Gavin Schaffer, a University of Birmingham historian, said the TV shows – particularly ‘Allo ‘Allo – amplified some of the thinking that lay behind the UK’s decision to quit the European Union seven years ago.” (paywalled link)

Blimey – have all those Leave voters been glued to their tellies for decades, binge-watching those series? Clearly the BBC is to blame! When I read on, I was stunned speechless:

“Prof Schaffer found clues in the comedies that reflected public ambivalence towards the EU and a desire to stand apart from “the Continent” decades before the vote in 2016. He found this “lack of seriousness” freed creators and audiences to engage with things that would otherwise not be permissible for discussion.” (paywalled link)

Who decides what is and isn’t ‘permissible for discussion’? A history professor teaching the next generation of decision makers, seriously ‘researching’ what we plebs can be permitted to discuss? Is that the reason for the dire TV sitcoms, stuffing ‘the message’ down our throats? How Orwellian, to suggest that we plebs should no longer be allowed to take the proverbial out of politicians, politics, and general idiocies produced by our so-called ‘betters’!

The inanities didn’t stop there. As if to underline this Orwellian attitude, there’s a piece in the DT headlined “Did this jaw-dropping Netflix film predict France’s race riots?” (paywalled link). The author alleges that a Netflix series ‘predicted’ yon French riots – a series which apparently was streamed last week when riots were already in full swing.

Westminster denizens seem to believe that we plebs only need to watch a TV or Netflix series in order to go out and do as the actors do. Perhaps that’s why we have so much crime .. all those Police and Detective’ dramas, you know?

Meanwhile the broadsheets are switching from ‘police brutality’ as reason for those riots to ‘racism’ as the more ‘acceptable’ explanation, an explanation which can then be transferred to our own country. The proof, according to a report in the DT,  are data showing the under-representation of non-white French in public life. It’s because:

“France is officially “colourblind”. Official surveys, including the census, are prohibited from asking any questions about race or religion; a hangover from the Nazi occupation. In a world driven by data-based policy, this obscures the true scale of inequalities in society.” (paywalled link)

Yes – that must be it: how can ‘affirmative action’ be imposed when there are no data? Being ‘colour-blind’ is racism, pure and simple. Employing people ‘on merit’ and not because of skin colour: that is racist! Perhaps that’s why we’ve not heard about French ‘slavery’ and ‘colonialism’?

There’s of course more ‘proof’ that the French are utter racists. Yesterday, our contributor ‘Stout Yeoman’ pointed out already in a comment post that the French donated €1m to the policeman while the family of the teenager ‘only’ received €200,000. How racist is that! The Times reports:

Support for the officer may reflect the belief among many that the police are a bastion against an the Arab and black African minority from the banlieue estates. […] The rush by 40,000 people to help Florian M, who is in detention on charges of voluntary manslaughter, was denounced by the left-wing opposition and members of President Macron’s administration.” (link, paywalled)

I wonder how long it’ll take for all those ever so righteous French lefties to demand the fund to be scrapped. After all, the Canadian government did it for the Trucker protest fund. See this:

Eric Dupond-Moretti, the justice minister, said the fundraising was “fuelling the fire” of unrest. He described Messiha’s fund as a populist “instrumentalisation” of Nahel’s death. Olivier Faure, first secretary of the opposition Socialist Party, said the funds for the police officer were “perpetuating . . . a gaping division” in French society and called for their closure.” (link, paywalled)

Sorry – 40,000 French people are now ‘populist’? Is that all? How dangerous! Isn’t it wonderful how politicians and MSM, over there as well as over here, are instantly blaming people for ‘wrong-think’, for supporting a police officer rather than the latest ‘victim of racism’. Crimes committed by such ‘victims’ clearly are acceptable, according to the MSM ‘experts’.

That’s all I have for today. The articles I quoted above illuminate perfectly how Orwellian the MSM have already become. It’s a good thing that ever fewer of us consume their daily ‘products’. Have a good day.
