A friend of mine’s daughter, after graduating from university, went to work in a particular Parliament for the then party in power. One of the MPs was scheduled for a TV interview and she set about doing the research that she thought would be required for the said MP to provide a logical and rational debate.
The MP never replied to any of her calls and messages and so, this until now enthusiastic graduate, tried to brief the MP as he waked to the studio but he still wouldn’t listen. What followed was the MP just regurgitating the party line at a debate about which he knew nothing and had not the slightest interest.
The lady mentioned here had a short-lived political career, she left Parliament when she realised that the vast majority of MPs were like the one at the interview. They are just not interested in anything but pushing the official party line and fobbing the public off while being deaf to their arguments.
I remember many years ago, the wife of a Tory MP decided that she wanted to have a go at politics too. To be in politics it is necessary to have something to campaign about; this woman chose to pick on a group of travelers living quite happily in their mobile homes. This budding politician claimed that these travelers were living in a muddy field with no proper sanitation but her attentions were very unwelcome, the travelers were more than happy with the life that they had chosen.
As long as the bored housewife had a cause to campaign, could sound virtuous and caring, she just did not care who’s lives that she ruined in the process. Unfortunately the same could be said for the vast majority of politicians, it was discovered a long time ago that virtue sells to a gullible public.
Today in the world, one of the most voluble, prominent virtue signalers is none other than Saint Jacinda Ardern of New Zealand. I’ve been following with interest some of the stories coming out of NZ.
After the tragic Christchurch Mosque massacre, Ardern was quick to promote UN disarmament agendas by quickly and undemocratically introducing draconian firearms laws. This much to the horror of a nation addicted to hunting, fishing and the shooting sports, tax payers money was used to buy certain categories of firearm but only about twenty percent of them were handed over. The result was that well over two hundred thousand military-style semi-automatic weapons ended up on the black market and in the hands of criminals and gang members.
New Zealand is today a more dangerous place than it has ever been, any terrorist bent on committing another massacre is going to find it easier to get hold of a weapon than it ever was. This was all done in the name of virtue, Ardern was a protege of another champion virtue signaller Tony Blair and it seems that she learned her trade well. Blair committed many atrocities in the name of virtue and his legacy continues.
Today we have the bumbling and inept Boris Johnson supposedly leading the country, he and his now wife just love to virtue signal don’t they? Johnson was going to allow five thousand Afghan refugees to live in Britain but the number has now mysteriously expanded to more like thirty thousand but it sounds so virtuous doesn’t it.
Johnson has admitted that many of these Afghans that are going to turn up on our shores have been unvetted by our security services. Among these so-called refugees, it is certain that there will be a large number of Taliban and other terrorists, none of this matters to our Prime Minister. I suppose when we Brits lose friends, relatives or our children to terrorist bombs and knives, Johnson will stand up and produce a very virtuous but false dialogue to justify his actions.
Today we are ruled over by career politicians in the pursuit of personal wealth and success, they have long since realised that the most profitable career path for them lies with the globalists. This is a problem in a democracy, we elect these politicians to represent we the people, not transnational organisations: they are guilty of treason. Treason has become so commonplace that our politicians don’t seem to worry about it anymore, they feel invincible.
Whether it be the United Nations, World Health Organisation, European Union, our government, including the politicians and civil servants within; they have all realised that they can get away with any nefarious and wicked agenda if they sound virtuous enough. Never mind the ultimate havoc and misery that they ultimately unleash on the people of the democracies that they are supposed to respect.
I realised some time ago that the democracy in which we once lived and were so proud, the democracy that we have fought wars around the world to so virtuously impose; this is something that was taken from us a long time ago.
It is futile to expect Boris Johnson or any other mainstream politician to come to our aid, they do not represent us anymore, they will continue to sound virtuous while they keep endlessly selling us out. Virtue it seems has become a massive and very profitable industry and our politicians will not let the people that they are supposed to represent get in the way of them pocketing these profits.
I am very sorry to say that now our options are very limited. Many here long for a return of UKIP, I would like this too, but I realise that by the time we can get UKIP or any other alternative party established, our country and way of life will be long gone.
We, the British people, we’ve all been sold out in the name of virtue – a very false and profitable for certain people – type of virtue at that.

Just one of the problems with our system of governance that is fraudulently called a democracy is that it is dominated by party politics. There are other problems like second, third and more jobs under the guise of a continued working experience, and lobbying by big business and wealthy influencers with donations and bribes.
Therefore any talk of political parties including UKIP now make me grimace. To me they are clubs that have totally failed the British Public for far too long.
Can anyone imagine how refreshing it would be if MPs actually represented their constituents? How refreshing it would be if they knew that their constituents could sack them within a year of any exposure of hypocritical, self-serving or treasonous behaviour? No it would be another world; a scenario that should have been pursued a long ago.
Instead we are reaping the results of abdicating our responsibilities to a collection of ‘clubs’ where the members follow their party lines and produce manifestos from behind closed doors.
It is such a shame that the British haven’t been able to reform our outdated, unfit for purpose, corrupt, nonsensical party political system in at least the last hundred years. No party however small are worthy as they present a product that you either vote for or don’t vote for. That is not representation that is an imposition on those who should be the employers.
What is that saying about repeating same again, again, and again, every four years actually, and expecting a different outcome?
Add to virtue signalling the wave of restrictions on cars and other green crap will leave the motor car and travel the preserve of the well orff

Virtue signaling. Yes ‘they’ do don’t they! That is exactly what my MP does while towing the party line.
Career Politicians in pursuit of personal wealth and success. Yes. Their ambitions in that respect probably vary. I doubt whether mine expects to climb very high. Though he has said he has a special interest in ? something or other. So perhaps hopes for a minor governmental role. He is still a young man after all.
And those who have made it to the top of the heap?
The most profitable path lies with the Globalists.

Off topic: flyer- if memory serves, you were looking forward to a ‘show down’ on the American election cheating judicial examination.
Last week, I saw something that said the judge was ‘scathing’ saying the case was completely without merit and threw it all out.
One can only presume the judge is going to prosecute those who have sworn in writing of their observations and prosecute them for (say) mischief making?
If the examination is without merit, maybe it can be released as a book, listing all the instances of cheating. It is without merit, right? Nothing to lose, eh? But follow the money . . .
Your comments are depressing but unfortunately very close to the truth. Although still a member of UKIP, I feel it is probably too soon to expect a resurgence of public support for a party such as UKIP. I think what we need to do is engage as much as possible with Main Stream Media to show them that a huge proportion of the public do NOT accept the basic tenets of Wokeness, and are prepared to oppose these views at every opportunity. We probably need to branch out from the carefully-curated columns of the Daily Telegraph etc into other media. For ammunition, I recommend Douglas Murray’s “The Madness of Crowds”, if you haven’t already read it, following his excellent “Strange Death of Europe”
UKIP is a spent force, past its sell-by date.
The Reform Party seems to me the best hope of an alternative to the established parties.

Alan What puts me off The Reform Party is that there are far too many closet Tories attracted to it. We all saw what happened in December 2019 as activists/candidates and supporters jumped ship and Farage pulled candidates handing an whacking 80 seat majority to The Fat Boy. My preference is to set out and destroy the Tories not prop them up.

Don’t tell me this wasn’t a premeditated Tory trick, a trap that is so transparent it was laughable. I’m astonished so many people fell for it. The Tories are snakes and con artists, but the electorate fall for the scams and lies over and over again.
I agree re the need to destroy the Tories, but we should have done this years ago. Since we didn’t, are they now about to destroy us first?
I almost shouted ‘whoopee’ as I read this, Flyer. It reads as though it is from a like-minded thinker crying in the wilderness. That is, all except the bit about UKIP. UKIP is just another party among the melee of parties, and we all knw that a party can change its tune (and manifesto) according to the weather, don’t we? Change the leader and, mostly, the party followers will follow, at least for a while. Serious students of this phenomenon will study the machinations rather than follow, So, maybe its best we study them rather than merely follow the brand name.
As someone who was a member of ukip for 3 Year’s now with the sdp party leaving ukip when Bolton took over, We need an alternative to bungling Johnson’s Tories or the woefully useless Red Tories led by Starmer with a few dimwit Corbynista’s
Adam Hiley….you keep on banging on about this, but the SDP had its day in the 1980’s and merged with the Liberal Party. Nobody of a certain age has ever heard of the SDP, and those who do remember the gang of four, don’t know what this new SDP stand for, if anything….

We are almost out of EU and are not completely dependent on USA so maybe just maybe, there is some hope for us.
“We are almost out of EU” I don’t want to depress you but if the Great Reset , Building Back “Better” happens, we won’t have our own currency but a world digital currency , we’ll lose whatever borders we’re still supposed to have, our laws and Rule of Law gone; we have gradually been having our armed forces chipped away and what little is left is being turned on us; maybe a few developments re trade. The situation could be turned around with the right sort of Government but they’d need to act fast. As it is, we’re stuck with the present odious powers- that- be so it wont happen. I don’t call that Brexit I’m afraid.

UKIP still exists. It may be bumping along the bottom right now, with a few issues to sort out, but we still exist. We are here so that we are able to provide a proper party structure should the mainstream parties try to betray us, and the anti-EU movement needs to rise again and start fighting in earnest.
Elected UKIP leaders are immediately “bumped” off.

Rather unfair Harryagain – and historically inaccurate (along with the spelling of each name)! Batten shot himself firmly in the foot with his ill-judged and unpopular embracing of Tommy Robinson; Braine was from the same mould and Vachha a little too ‘off the wall’ for many tastes.
The party is not run by crooks, but it is (in the form of its NEC) run by well-meaning but politically naïve and less than totally competent individuals. Farage had a long-running battle with them, which was just one of the reasons he (with his huge ego) quit when he did. There is no doubt however that he quit at the worst possible time for the party and precipitated the foundering of this now rudderless ship.
Sadly, whilst the party branch structure is still in place and many individuals with a wide range of skills and talents are still hopeful of its ‘Phoenix-like’ rise from the ashes, this is unlikely to happen. Unless Farage returns, or another charismatic character steps forth as leader and the sclerotic NEC is replaced by a more functional entity, UKIP will probably be forever consigned to the pages of history.
I believe 2015 was their greatest year and 2016 brought its just reward, but the moment was not seized and the opportunity has unfortunately passed. The ‘right’ of British politics is overcrowded, with too many big egos, each with their own personal agendas and unless a strong hand can whip them into one cohesive force, the current downward spiral towards global communism is set to continue I fear. I write as a very disillusioned ex-party member and branch officer – just one of many!
G Lazell : I don’t agree. Re the 3 leaders you didn’t like, you sound like a woman who rejects suitor after suitor because she’s waiting for an imaginary perfect Mr Right. Nobody else is good enough for her, so she ends up dying as an old maid !!!
The 3 people you mention weren’t Mr Perfect because he doesn’t exist; they had strengths and weaknesses like everyone else but were genuine, I think. Overall the party would be doing well now if they hadn’t been forced out. Shame on those who forced them out . I’d never give UKIP another chance since they’d do exactly the same thing over again. Plus I fear its too late now. They had their chance.
It doesn’t matter what your view of these people is, they were elected and the scumbags got rid of them.
Any of them would have been a good leader. far better than the scheming non-entities running UKIP at the moment.

The mainstream party now in power has betrayed us Phillip. Not so much by back into the EU. Now it’s ‘into World Government.’
