“Where are our flags? Why are we discriminated against?”
I am utterly ashamed: ashamed for Wales and the Welsh Labour government. That lot – in power since the inception of ‘devolution’ – has brought us the worst results in education, NHS Wales is so bad that those who can drive to England to be treated – but now they’ve come up with this: “Asexual and ‘aromantic’ flags to be hung in public buildings under Welsh Labour plan” (paywalled link).
I had to rub my eyes because at first glance I read ‘aromatic flag’ and wondered if this was something to keep the air in public buildings smell nice. However, they are truly serious – see this:
“The flag for aromantic people consists of horizontal bands of dark green, light green, white, grey and black, and can be flown on June 5. The bisexual flag, flown on September 23, is pink, purple and blue, while the asexual flag is black, grey, white and purple. International Asexuality Day takes place on April 6. All these flags are separate from the general rainbow flag.” (paywalled link)
While I can sort-of understand what is meant by asexuality, I am baffled by ‘aromantic’. Do these people shun anything to do with ‘luurve’ and just go for quickie, one-night-stand bonks? And why is there no flag to represent celibates? It gets worse:
“The flag plan is part of the LGBTQ+ Action Plan for Wales, published by the Labour-run Government. It states: “Appropriate flags raised in public sector buildings, particularly from underrepresented communities (eg bisexual; asexual; aromantic).” The instruction indicates that other LGBT groups with flags of their own could be granted their own flag days in Wales.” (paywalled link)
It’s discrimination pure and simple because there’s no flag for the ‘romantic’! Furthermore, it’s discriminatory because there’s no flag for ‘beast kin’, i.e. those who self-identify as an animal. Me, I’m of course a collie …
It is however a clever, dead-cat-on-the-table ploy because clearly, it’s far more important to show how Alphabet-friendly the Welsh Labour government is rather than explain why NHS Wales is in such an atrocious condition – after a quarter of a century of Welsh Labour government – and never mind actually doing something about this.
This is the future for our country once Labour occupies No 10: big words about bad Tories but no change in the dire state of the NHS, education, infrastructure, illegal migrants while accumulating laws forbidding everything. 20mph on all roads in England is not impossible. I’m only surprised the London Mayor hasn’t followed Dripford in permitting more Alphabet flags to be flown on London’s public buildings.
As for the rest of todays ‘news’ – well, what a surprise: it’s ‘Russian spies’, and while only the grauniad reports that they’re actually Bulgarians, the rest of today’s print editions are outraged that yon spies declared themselves to be ‘journalists’ and were living in ’suburbia’ – how heinous! Here’s Al Beeb’s front page compilation: “Newspaper headlines: Russian ‘spy ring’ and ‘bumper’ rise in pensions” (link).
Only the Express screams about that ‘rise in pensions’ which might (!) increase the state pension: might because it’s not yet decided. I wonder if this is a clever ploy by the Treasury because the closer yon tax free state pension is to the tax free personal allowance, the more anything above this, e.g. income from occupational pensions, will be taxed. This money is needed for the pay rise for civil serpents, reported only in the Speccie email newsletter yesterday: “Public sector pay growth jumped 9.6 per cent, the fastest rate since records began, with private sector wages growing at 7.9 per cent.”
Cynical old cow that I am, I assume our glorious MSM aren’t reporting this on their front pages because their ‘sources’ might become angry and stop gossiping to them. Ah well – I’m sure the ‘public sector’ is worth it, given how hard they’re at work, especially in Wales, promoting flags for all and sundry to show how woke and tolerant they are. After all, displaying the ‘correct’ flag for ‘suppressed minorities’ is so much more important than making sure that the needs of the taxpaying plebs are addressed. Moreover, someone has to pay for all those flags and for the crayons which yon serpents need to design more flags.
That’s all I have for today. I’m now going to design a flag for dog owners. Perhaps you can design a flag for cat owners. After all, we’re a suppressed minority and deserve our own flag! Describe your design in the comments! Have a good day.

We do need Farage to return and challenge the globalist worshipping establishment. Otherwise our salvation may require civil war.
Nigel Farage was sort of hinting this evening on his GB News programme that he may return to front line politics on the Net Zero and ULEZ issue. He said he has spoken to Richard Tice about holding a referendum on the issue. All I can say to that, is that Farage should forget about talking to Tice about anything, and return to front line politics under his own steam and take over the leadership of Reform UK lock stock and barrel. However, haven’t we heard all this waffle before, not once but several times, none of which came to fruition, apart from how he was going to take an honorary position and help Tice out. I think quite a lot of people including me are sick ands tired of hearing him say this now because we know it wont happen. Besides which he marched us half way up a way hill in 2019, and like the Grand Old Duke of York, marched us back down again, and if this wasn’t enough left the UK Independence Party in the lurch after the 2016 EU referendum. There is only one party which will take a firm stand against ULEZ etc, and that is the party he left in 2019.
The whole world has gone stark raving mad. Wales is a sick joke of course. I at least voted against devolution and am proud of that. The local Plaid Cymru nutjob can like it or lump it.
Looking forward to your flag design Viv. As for government we are governed by a bunch of scroats costing us a great deal more than is reasonable or acceptable. I’d like to see them all penned up with an ample supply of rotten fruit to throw at them.

What a disaster devolution has been for Wales (and for the UK generally). Turnout in the 1997 referendum was 50.22% with only 50.3% voting for devolution. Had a mere 3362 yes votes gone the other way devolution would have been defeated. Only 25.26% of the Welsh electorate voting yes was needed for Blair’s constitutional vandalism to succeed with half of the Welsh electorate not even bothering to vote at all. I bet some of those indifferent or complacent voters are sorry now.
Oh they are – but OTOH, there’s the North-South divide, with most welsh people living in the South, the heartland of Labour. Do I need to mention Aneurin Bevan, Michael Foot, Neil Kinnock: still ‘heroes’ and thus a reason for most to vote Labour.
Still with the 20mph limit now across all Welsh roads, with the Capital being driven ever further against the wall thanks to the seamless Labour local council and government ‘in the Bay’ … who knows. Mind you, the nationalists, a.k.a. Plaid Cymru, are as socialist as Labour and there’s no ‘tradition’ of Tory local councils or councillors.
Well, as the ancient Germans used to say: “wer nicht hören will muss fühlen”, i.e. if one doesn’t want to listen, one will inevitably be made to ‘feel’ the (physical) punishment. And so the Welsh are beginning to ‘feel’ the consequences of their complacency and folly … I’m not even finding a scintilla of compassion for them.
Bevan, Foot et al hark back to a patriotic, communitarian Labour Party that reflected roots in Welsh Methodism. Today’s Labour is very different and the good folk of the valleys must have noticed. Yet, the anti-Tory feeling keeps them loyal. At some point Drakeford madness must make them question that or at least one hopes it will.
SY………but where is the devolution for England like an English parliament. This devolution nonsense is all one way traffic, and no thought whatsoever was given to the biggest country within the Union by idiot Blair and his successors including the ruddy useless Conservative Party. Whenever the subject is raised the only devolution we hear about is regional devolution where the objective would be to dilute the English voice and influence both here in this country and internationally.
As an innocent to all these parlour games, when I first read your article today I thought you were joking.
Aromantic means what? They phart a lot??
.
Nope, that would be ‘anaromatic’ because pharts smell, especially the silent killers produced by certain collies which shall be nameless.
No, I think this refers to people, LGBT+, who only want a f***, instantly, no ‘romantic’ words needed, just lower trousers and panties and have at it.
Mmmm, you live and learn. I’m sure CH can rattle off a load more!
My piano teacher asked me NOT to to give her labradog any more ‘meaty chunks’ petfood when I visit in future. The meaty chunks take about 12 hrs to work – by which time I am no longer in their house – but doggo is!
Viv, I thought I’d have a go at you your gay dog flag challenge. Looking to the internet for inspiration, I found I couldn’t do any better or worse, which ever way you look at it, than the existing tripe.

I hoped gay cat lovers had a bit more sense, however I was soon to be proved wrong..

Typing in gay rat flag, gay horse flag, gay hamster flag, they are all there. I think they have cornered the market.
Maybe we should adopt the..Don’t Tread on me Flag.
The ‘Don’t Tread on Me’ flag originated as a cry for independence for the American colonies when defending themselves from the British.
The flag was created by Christopher Gadsden, a South Carolina politician, and flown from a battleship in 1775.
A coiled rattlesnake, the image on the flag, sends the message: “I’m ready to defend myself, so don’t come any closer.”
Good grief! I’m especially upset by the image of that beautiful Borzoi having his face painted with rainbow stripes. They’re shameless. All of them.
