Oh look – a fat, Sunak-Brexit squirrel!
I don’t know if this comes under ‘news’ or under ‘déja vu’, but there it is: they’re still ‘talking’, Sunak and now that woman from Brussels. That’s what our esteemed dead tree press are offering their customers this morning. ‘Staff’ at Al Beeb however had to smuggle in one other piece of ‘news’ in their headline: ‘Newspaper headlines: Sunak to meet EU chief on Brexit deal and ‘Italy tragedy’ “ (link).
Being nosey, I had to look but was forced to scroll down to find the relevant headline – aww, ‘tis only in the DT, and even there it’s not the top story. Apparently, there was a shipwreck in the Mediterranean and certain people drowned. That sad report hasn’t even made it onto their online frontpage, and frankly, I wasn’t going to go and dig for it. My daily dose of ‘how sad’ was provided by The Star, bless them. They weep about the demise of ‘Lassie’ because only 500 puppies of that breed were born last year. How sad.
I’m still trying to stay off ‘News’ for Lent, so this morning I’ll try a new venture: making a collage of some of the blatant government propaganda provided by The Times. I think this might give us an image of the Westminster Cabal’s attempts to prepare the Nation for more horrors.
Let’s start with “Officials plan for bird flu spreading between people” because one (!) girl in Cambodia seems to have died of this and now they try to work out if a bird or a human infected her (link, paywalled). No, there’s no scare model as of yet.
Meanwhile, “Fruit and veg shortage will last weeks, former food secretary warns” (link, paywalled). Yon ‘former food secretary’ is George Eustice and while he said that government couldn’t have done much about it – yeah, weather control in Northern Africa is a bit outside of the remit of Whitehall – he did mention that shops in Europe were ‘fully stocked’. He doesn’t even have to mention Brexit any longer: this is Remain Central, so readers know how to connect those dots..
Next, government is now being blamed for failing to implement their Net Zero policy of getting everybody to switch to electric cars. That moan, “Ministers warned of electric car policy fiasco” (link, paywalled), came from Honda’s ‘ head of European Affairs’, insinuating that things would’ve been so much better had we remained.
Then again, this august paper isn’t just Remain Central but also ‘Net Zero Propagandist-in-chief’, so here’s a significant quote, for the record:
“However, The Times understands Rishi Sunak is planning a “big net-zero moment” next month, which may include the proposals on the electric car mandate.” (link, paywalled).
I’m sure we peasants will hasten to buy electric cars and never mind inflation, no veggies, and ever increasing home energy bills! We’re also exhorted to be kind because “Refugees ‘need a permanent reserve of UK host homes’” (link, paywalled). Apologies, but this crass demand also deserves a direct quote:
“The British public should be permanently urged to host refugees to ensure that the UK always has enough room to respond to future crises, the architect of the Homes for Ukraine scheme has said. Lord Harrington of Watford said that the country needed a permanent reserve of homes ready to offer sanctuary to people fleeing war or natural disasters […]” (link, paywalled)
Obviously, we no longer have a problem with homelessness if we peasants are being nudged into accepting ‘refugees’ in our homes. This is one of yon infamous ‘wedge’ issues where government tries to make us accept something which looks sensible and kind, to then turn it into an obligation. After all, having accepted the fact that “we” will kindly take in certain refugees, we obviously have room to take in illegals currently lingering in hotels, correct?
I leave you with two other headlines. One shows that our governing classes have slipped down even further on the slippery slope of wokeism. While the publishers of Roald Dahl’s books have retreated in haste and abandoned their unspeakable woke ‘editing’, “Racial terms removed from James Bond novels” (link, paywalled). Phew, “we” must be so relieved: no more nasty racism in James Bond Novels! Does anyone even read them any longer?
We also learn that racism is a far worse offence than misogyny because “[…] references to the “sweet tang of rape”, “blithering women”, […]and references to homosexuality being a “stubborn disability” have been kept in.” (link, paywalled). Of course they have! These only refer to women, not to transpeople, and so have escaped the outcry from feminists.
The other headline is “International Baccalaureate lets pupils use ChatGPT to write essays” (link, paywalled) – and why not! After all, yon Institution says using AI is akin to ‘cheating’, by having help from parents or ‘essay mills’. It’s okay as long as pupils show it’s not their own work. Oh really? And how will teachers find this out? That’s what happens when already ill-educated ‘heads’ encourage pupils to stop learning.
That’s all I have for today. There are the first green shoots of another WHO ‘epidemic’ which will be useful to keep us in a state of fear while slyly preparing us for government programmes such as food rationing, Net Zero and making us give house room to ‘refugees’. Warbling about Sunak’s NI ‘deal’ is just another big fat squirrel. Have a good day.
I no longer understand what is happening in Britain since 2010. there is a lot of action and inaction which just has or has not happened. This is statistically an abortion. So something else is happening that has not been noticed by activists of all kinds, or it’s not credible. I worry about much that science has been tinkering with. I worry about computers. No advance since 1970. The study of populations seems to be stuck without any advance. Maybe it’s a general deteriorating, or weeding. .I don’t think I’m a conspiracy nut, but common sense seems ever less attractive, but echo-chambers are booming. Cool analysis seems in short supply. or has there been one thing not understood, or maybe many.. Or have catalysts changed. Or are goals easier. There seems a will not to go further on some valuable avenues, A blank refusal to consider illogical or even unpopular options.
There is just so much inexplicable. Or is it just a larger, less able, uncritical, mob value different swamp. ? So I stick with Grannies sayings. SO. Don’t believe a word of it.
Maybe it’s just attractive facts vs bureaucracy and gossip with venality.
Residents being ‘encouraged to offer’ space in their homes for refugees! All I can see when i read this is that scene in Dr Zhivago when Yuri comes home to find that his family home has been appropriated by the ‘authorities’ who have moved in countless other people so that Yuri and family have to live in one room (with little or no heating!). No doubt all the family possessions were also ‘re-distributed’!
I’m not sure whether the government is just saying these things in the hope that we will start demonstrating on the streets and give them a reason to round us us and send us to the gulags, or whether they really do think that we are all stupid enough to ‘sign up’. Hey! Thinking about it……many did sign up to that £350 per month scam to take in a refugee family! So I guess it’s the latter!
“I’ve won big concessions from EU claims Sunak”. Ring any bells? Like Cameron coming back from Brussells when he was aiming to avoid a referendum. I am sure I remember him using exactly those same words.
He might have won concessions but how much did he have to give the EU? We’ll see.
Yes they’re still stringing us along re “Brexit” about 7 years after we voted to leave, playing for time till Starmer (they hope) gets to power and can take the blame for blatantly re -joining. The familiar attention grabbing headline to mislead us, leading nowhere.
Re homing the migrants: I hope the virtue -signallers and do -gooders of this nation give a thought to giving a home to some of our own homeless, eg ex -servicemen with post- traumatic stress, or children decanted from childrens homes at age 17.
No? Thought not. According to the Times propaganda toilet- paper rag, these people don’t exist and doubtless don’t get a mention.
As for Lord Muck “Harrington of Watford” (who the hell does he think he is?) : sounds like the sort of hypocrite with 15 bedroom mansions : so lets stuff them full with new arrivals first and see how he likes that. People like him make me make me sick sick sick.
Most people don’t realise how much contempt our “upper crust” have for us.
Excuse this rant.
My thoughts exactly Mary, as I was reading my blood pressure slowly rising. You’re completely excused.
Some of us do realise the contempt they have for us as do an increasing number of Europeans, the French and Irish in particular.
Protests at immigration to Ireland are growing and to an extent that the Irish Teapot, supported by Irish media, is branding what are in fact just concerned parents as ‘far right’, ‘racist’ etc. I think Ireland may be one to watch as its government is accelerating immigration. Quite soon the proportion of foreign born fighting age men distributed across the country will exceed the UK’s and the insular complacency and blinkered self-satisfaction of the Irish middle class will be ever harder to sustain.
But it is in France that the protest numbers vastly exceed our own. With protest in Holland growing all this will be harder and harder to ignore.
As ever, the various elites treat secondary phenomenon in reaction to their policies never conceding that it is their policies that are at fault. This has worked so far, and here as elsewhere, using the tried and tested slander techniques on protestors in the hope of constraining their numbers. But the causes – from 15 minute cities, ULEZ zones, illegal immigration and benefits for them better than for each countries citizens. drag queens in primary schools – continue to multiply.
In the absence of a political party worth supporting (one with a realistic chance that is, though I do support still a few ‘fringe’ parties such as UKIP and Heritage) we are left with these local issue based protests. We should attend every protest. I do.
The one hope is that Sturgeon style overreach will be the undoing eventually of the elites convinced they know better than we do how to live. Local protests and issue based protests appear to be the way to go – for now.
Yes, yes and yes again Mary – you are right about guttertrash such as Lord Muck Harrington of Watford but equally we should cast the spotlight on those half-wit, dupable people who voted for him.
Don’t apologise Mary (politicians never do so why should we?). My blood pressure has been at steaming point for longer than I care to remember! I completed the ‘consultation’ regarding digital ID the other day! It took me a long time because I kept having to ‘revise’ the invective that was first flooding off my fingers into the commentary boxes. I couldn’t copy and paste for the records so I had to write every comment out by hand so I have evidence of what I actually did say! The thing that got my blood pressure racing again was the thought that ‘they’ wouldnt take a blind bit of notice!
Today I have just forwarded to my MP the ‘open letter’ from Justin Walker and Will Keyte to the Duke of Norfolk (Earl Marshal) regarding the Coronation Oath that the new King will be taking at his ‘crowning’! Given that he has supported the WEF and The Great Reset, HM-to-be can hardly swear to protect and uphold the rights of the people as well! You’ll find the letter here. (Just scroll down for the picture of KS and HM together!).

His esteemed mother broke her Coronation Oath (1972 European Communities Act. It almost seems a certainty her son will be more than willing to do the same for the globalists.
Talking of Net Zero. Ive been doing some reading and research about the climate scam and listening to some very competent real scientists. The global warming fraud is based on complete BS and such completely dishonest data that it’s unbelievable that governments can get away with it, complete fairy dust. I know that this won’t come as much of a surprise to many of you here but when you look at the real science, I can guarantee that you will be shocked and the climate lockdowns are coming.
I’ve written here about the academic world here before, they’re propagating this climate and covid garbage and they know it’s rubbish, they just don’t want their funding cut. This is what’s been happening, if anyone strays from the globalist and government narrative they get their funding cut or they loose their jobs, how they can live with themselves, I just can’t imagine.
I may write about this when I’ve done some more research.
Flyer: It’s worse than fear of funding cuts alone, although that is indeed a big factor. One of the biggest motives behind climate change garbage and lockdowns is to destroy Western prosperity: did not Schwab protege Maurice Strong admit this?
I expect the next thing will be them trying to muzzle us to stop us breathing out CO2, and the virtue- signalling dimwits out there will go along with it, because the Times tells them to.
Mary – talking of dimwits. I was watching some video of the anti migrant protest in Newquay, of course there was a counter protest by the likes of ANTIFA. When the reporter tried to interview some of the counter protesters, it sounded like they could barely string a sentence together. These so called Lefties and migrant lovers are causing us so many problems and yet they don’t even have the intellectual capacity to understand the consequences of their actions. Worse than dimwits!
They don’t need to understand. They just have to follow orders. Might be Grauniad readers (financed by Gilly Bates). I picked up a new word the other day “Antifardian”. Seems like a perfect fit!
“Officials plan for bird flu spreading between people”! Shouldn’t the reality be ““Officials plan to implement a bird flu pandemic”?
and:
“Ministers warned of electric car policy fiasco” Maybe the overpaid Ministers should consider that for most people an electric car is simply unaffordable and, even it were, do we have the generating capacity to run them all?
They _know_ that electric cars are unaffordable for most. They also know there aren’t the materials to manufacture that many electric cars. By banning the internal combustion engine they are effectively pricing the majority of people off the road and forcing them to use pre-industrial methods of transportation.
I’ve also noticed that pot holes no longer get fixed at all so roads are deteriorating at an ever faster pace. ‘They’ know this doesn’t matter because there will be so few vehicles on the roads in the very near future.
As a far right racist ( there I have said it before the limp left wimps) there will be NO “immigrant” army billeted in my home, not even in a tent on my lawn!
I holiday in Great Britain as I have no patience with foreigners any more, having spent my working life in the MN putting up with their ways!
Viv, I wonder when Eric Blair’s book, 1984 will be re-written. For starters, two minutes of love rather than two minute hate sessions perhaps? Much of the rest into the memory hole.
There’s a saying from “Oop North”.
“Today’s favour is tomorrow’s job.”
(In the sense of obligation).
It’s one thing hosting genuine refugees of a similar culture to our own.
It’s something entirely different hosting scroungers of and alien and hostile culture.
The ones that fled danger and left their families behind undefended. Oh and can’t even say where they are.
