~~oo~~
In an unbelievable act of stupidity which could provoke war with Russia and China (and the immediate loss of Taiwan) the British Government is sending warships to the Black Sea to support the fascist-inspired, militarily aggressive Kiev regime in its genocide against its Russian citizens in East Ukraine. Having spent 20 years alienating Russia the West has driven it into the hands of China. We cannot expect China not to take advantage of a war over Ukraine.
Earlier this month President Biden spoke on the phone with Ukraine’s Volodomyr Zelensky, and told him that if Russia “escalated its aggression” in the East of Ukraine (the Donbas), the US would stand by Ukraine. All the aggression since 2014 has of course been from the Ukraine regime brought to power by an extreme nationalist coup against an internationally recognised democratically elected Government. The nationalistic (not to say Nazi) elements in that coup attacked the mainly Russian population in East Ukraine, bombing civilian areas and causing thousands of deaths.
Eventually the two Minsk Agreements between Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France laid down a withdrawal of troops, a peace deal and proposed elections with Ukraine committed to decentralisation of power to its regions. Russia always wanted to ensure peace in Donetsk and Luhansk and devolved Government (far less than the Nationalistic Nikola Sturgeon wants from the British Government. Needless to say the British Government has not bombed Edinburgh!)
Biden’s demented words to Zelensky encouraged the Ukrainians to further escalate their killing of civilians and destruction of towns in the two break-away Republics (Donetsk and Luhansk). A meeting of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine (NSDC) was held in Kiev. A few hours later, shelling of Donetsk Gorlovka began.
The NSDC meeting had given permission to their armed forces to open fire at their discretion. Some 50 mortars were fired and one person was killed and two were injured.
And into this war zone British warships will sail for the Black Sea in May. One Type 45 destroyer armed with anti-aircraft missiles and an anti-submarine Type 23 frigate will leave the Royal Navy’s carrier task group in the Mediterranean and head through the Bosphorus into the Black Sea.
RAF F-35B Lightning stealth jets and Merlin submarine-hunting helicopters will stand ready on the task group’s flag ship, the carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, to support the warships in the Black Sea. As a Russian website noted of the British naval threat “the mouse threatens the bear”. Is Boris Johnson mad?
THE UK PROMOTES AND ARMS AN AGGRESSIVE NATIONALISTIC REGIME
The deployment is aimed at showing “solidarity with Ukraine”, reported the Sunday Times – solidarity with a truly obnoxious regime whose activities we have documented on this site:

Ukraine, like Croatia, another favourite of the EU establishment, had a truly awful history during the second world war, being a lackey of the Hitler regime and the perpetrator of horrendous crimes against Jews and anti fascists. As these articles show today it has carried on in that tradition – with the full support of the EU and the British Government. Nazi parades are commonplace. Youth is schooled in Nazi type youth movements. The Kiev regime cut off water supplies to Luhansk. The Ukraine Parliament has been attacked (with guardsmen killed) and threatened if they pass the legislation demanded by the Minsk Agreement.
Gangs tied to the extreme nationalist Azov, Aidar, Right Sector, and Tornado battalions have had gun battles with police, intimidated court proceedings, overturned local elections, torched media buildings, attacked undesirable Soviet monuments, violently threatened journalists, and overtly spoken of overthrowing the government.
And this is the country to which the UK and USA have sent weapons and armed services instructors and in defence of which the UK now sends a naval group. Washington has admitted that since 2015 more than two billion dollars have been allocated to Ukraine for the purchase of various weapons and the training of military specialists.
Having taken 47 years to recognise the error of surrender to the European Superstate the British Establishment now cannot see the horrendous geopolitical mistake they are making in supporting the destructive and unstable militarism of Ukraine. The Russians will not tolerate further bloodshed in the Donbas. They have not demanded Ukrainian surrender and independence for Donetsk and Luhansk – only the end of Ukrainian attacks and devolved Government.**
CHINESE INTERVENTION
If the unstable and ignorant Biden continues to encourage the aggression of the puffed up hothead, Zelensky, NATO (itself conducting large scale military manoeuvres on the Ukraine border) will be at war with Russia and Russia’s ally China will certainly take advantage of the war to attack American and British interests elsewhere. China is already threatening Taiwan militarily and taking control of Hong Kong. Having spent 20 years alienating Russia the West has driven it into the hands of China. We cannot expect China not to take advantage of a war over Ukraine.

Minsk 2 contained the following provisions which Ukraine has failed so far to follow:
- Ukraine will also adopt ‘permanent legislation’ on special status before the end of 2015.
- This law will include: an amnesty;
- ‘the right of linguistic self-determination’;
- the involvement of the local authorities in the appointment of prosecutors and courts;
- agreements between Ukraine’s central authorities and the local authorities covering ‘economic, social and cultural development’; state support for the socio-economic development of Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts;
- assistance from the central authorities to support ‘transnational cooperation’ between the occupied regions and regions of the Russian Federation;
- rights for local parliaments to create ‘people’s militia units’;
Just words. Ridiculous.
Who appropriated the majpr money earning slice of another country, by marching into a port, taking control of an ocean, and a huge part of someone elses country with peace making tanks
That’s Russia , Thats Hitler, that’s Napoleon, Blaming everybody else. Noisily, aggressively and untruthfully. Whilest thieving. For personal aggrandisement.
I assume Rodney is telling us something.!
Any day now Remoaners are going to arrive waving a piece of paper. Is that it Rodney ?
The Russians are only protecting their sphere of influence and the Balkans are their backyard. Putin held his hand of friendship out to them when he came to power and what did the Yanks do? They moved missiles bases to Poland ostensibly to stop missiles hitting Europe from the Middle East!!!!!!
Let’s face it would America allow a foreign power to nudge up to its borders? Don’t think so, they sorted that out with the Monroe doctrine over a hundred years ago.
Leave the bear alone and he will leave us alone.
Is it wise to join an old partially demented man to prod bears?
Of course not; it is absolute madness and BJ is worse than a fool for supporting him.
The Ukrainians have suffered genocide themselves. From 1931 to 1933 Stalin waged his terror famine against the Ukraine, known as “collectivisation of agriculture” or the Holodomor. When Churchill met Stalin in World War Two Stalin told him that six million died in that collectivisation campaign. Knowing Stalin, that was probably less than the true number of victims.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I was under the impression that U.K. being in N.A.T.O., DID NOT FORCE US to take part in every military action that U.S. undertakes.
If a NATO country is attacked, all members must respond.
Is Ukraine in NATO?

We need to avoid supporting anything which Biden comes up with. After all his claim to the US Presidency does seem to be the result of massive fraud so why would we support him? Maybe war is the desired outcome…
War is the desired outcome. Hilary Clinton wanted war with Russia and we’d have been in a massive war years ago if Trump hadn’t won the 2016 election. Biden will, if allowed, finish the job of starting World War Three.
Follow the money, Putin got rid of the global central banking system in Russia and so Russia has to go, just like Gadaffi and Iraq, any number of countries in the Middle East that threatened the petrodollar. The global financial system is collapsing, these globalists desperately need a way to blame it all on.
If Biden, Harris and the Democrats aren’t removed, then soon we will be in a war that will make the last world wars pale into insignificance.
It is indeed the quick way to bring about the UN’s policy of depopulation.
And if you don’t defend your borders, then you will fight your wars on your streets.
Surely a war that could hurt us is more and more likely. Three generations of peace has left the West feeble and entitled and complaining and it is now led by the epitome of feeble and entitled and complaining.
“China is already threatening Taiwan militarily and taking control of Hong Kong. Having spent 20 years alienating Russia the West has driven it into the hands of China.”
China needs no encouragement to re-establish its empire and regain control of the lands and people which it once administered. Sino-imperialism is the future and the nations of the Indo-pacific ocean must come to terms with that fact. The only counterbalance to China in that theatre is India, and the US and UK should be engaging with the world’s largest democracy on all levels. A powerful India with allies around the periphery of The Central Land is the answer.
The situation in Europe is similar but not connected — Russia has re-armed as far as its feeble economy permits, even dragging out the magnificent Tu160 bomber to make a splash in the world’s aviation press — but it is not that which gives it its power. Germany, feebly armed with decrepit aircraft and unserviceable tanks, will not jump to Russian orders because of the military situation but because of the threat to its gas supplies. Only a feeble West would have allowed the energy situation to deteriorate this far*. Russia famously plays chess while the West plays tiddly-winks, and tiddly-winks doesn’t keep the lights on. Mr Putin should remember as he cosies up to China that they do not play games and his Far Eastern border is where he should be looking for the real long-term threat to Russia’s territorial integrity: when that conflict comes he will need friends..
Australia has the mineral resources that China needs if it is to continue growing at its previous breakneck speed. The last Empire that needed resources in the region was Japan. We have ties of blood and honour with the lucky country. Let us hope that we have not lost all our self-respect, and if called upon will remember those ties.

*UK fracked gas could stand as a backup for the EU, but a coordinated anti-fracking campaign, reminiscent of the anti-cruise, anti-US and anti-nuke campaigns of the ’70s and ’80s, was enough to frighten the spineless nincompoops who have run our energy policy for the last twenty years. HMG knows who backed the anti-frackers. Should we be told?
JF – ‘even dragging out the magnificent Tu160 bomber’
You are right. But let’s not forget it is 20 or so years younger than the american B52!
The Ukrainians teamed up with the Germans in WW2 for the reason they wanted the (implanted by Stalin/Russian Empire) Russians chucked out of their country.
Just as the Finns did orginally.
Ukraine has a long history of being invaded by neighbouring countries, the most recent being the Russian Empire/USSR.
Ethnic Ukrainians were deported (to Siberia for example to build the railway) and Russians encouraged to move in to replace them for the exact purpose of what we see today.
Not surprisingly, ethnic Ukrainians want their country back and the Russians to go home.
This was done throughout the Russian Empire/USSR to suppress future rebellion. There’s going to be trouble in the Baltic states for the same reason. (Lots of Russians).
For years, before the fraudster became an illegitimate president, the media has always been full of – it was Russia wot dun it! Even smearing of President Trump was all OK – but failed.
For a while we have has racists kneeling to those with permanent suntans. Hopefully that is petering out, but please no, not by a resurgence of ‘it was Russia . . . ‘.
Next up ‘Ukranian lives matter’?
What goes on in the Balkans should be left in the Balkans.. Not worth the life of one British Grenadier (if we have any).
