“… they first make blind before making them mad”, sez I! Today’s ‘news’ as presented to us by our glorious MSM have made me change this ancient saying. The usual front pages compilation again left me speechless: “Newspaper headlines: ‘Womb transplant’ and Letby victims ‘fobbed off’.” (link).
I’m going to do what any self-respecting smartphone user does: scan just the headlines and be outraged. Let’s start with that ‘womb transplant’. Why does the NHS have money for this? Why did nobody tell those women that there are many kids who need to be adopted or fostered or that in this age of ‘feminism’ a woman no longer has to define herself by being ‘a mother’? Ah: this operation is to be celebrated because it gives hope to transgenders – male to female – to finally be able to bear children as well! Now it makes sense!
Then there’s the leading article in this morning’s DT, about ‘government lawyers’ telling Sunak that a bid to block the ULEZ scheme would fail in court (paywalled link). Why is it that every government decision is being dragged through the courts, at huge cost to us taxpayers? Do I need to say Rwanda, or mention Brexit? I wonder what would have happened in 1914 or 1939 if lawyers had told the then PMs that going to war, just like that, was against some ‘rights’ and they cannot do it because they’d ‘fail in court’?
Meanwhile, politicians peacock around on the pages of the MSM, for example yon Minister called Grant Shapps who bleats in a piece for the DT that:
“Britain will make sure Putin never uses energy as a weapon of war again – By helping Ukraine bolster its fuel security for the winter months and beyond, we will further isolate the Russian leader” (paywalled link)
Good grief! Never mind that Mr Shapps seems to be suffering from a severe case of grandeur and of ignorance, given that, as minister, he surely must be aware of the true state of yon war, why is nobody – a government lawyer even? – telling him that his duty is to us, the people of this country? Shouldn’t he make sure of our ‘fuel security’ first?
Speaking of fuel security, there’s also food security. Since the Daily Sceptic has seen fit to refer to an article in the Sunday Times, so shall I: “Mass panic over energy, yet we give up our food security without a murmur” (link, paywalled). The author, after paying his tribute to the “Putin – bad” meme in his subtitle, describes how here in the UK the last plant producing ammonia from nitrogen is closing. This means we do no longer produce the much needed fertiliser here in this country.
This is fine though because it’s clearly better to rely on foreign imports for fertilisers than producing it ourselves: who needs food when we can be truly ‘green’? It goes without saying that relying on foreign countries to feed us is fine, as long as it’s not coming from Russia.
I wonder how long it’ll take for people to realise that the ULEZ fight is just another deflection from the frightening descent into a greenery worse than that currently experienced by the Germans – worse because the Germans are realising that their government coalition which they voted in is the culprit.
Here, the green crappery is defended if not applauded by the Westminster ‘rulers’ from the HoC to Whitehall to the MSM and all who thrive in this swamp. There’s even an opinion piece by Ambrose Evans-Pritchard in today’s DT, praising the wonders of ‘new heat pump technology’.
I do wonder about the economic expertise of such commentators when they seem to be blithely unaware of facts such as how and with which materials are those heat pumps going to be made here in the UK. It’s the same question not asked in Westminster in regard to how, with what and by whom all the arms, ammunition, missiles etc are going to be replaced.
Apparently, the lesson of ‘relying on Putin is bad’ doesn’t apply to China or indeed the USA. Moreover, factories, be they for arms production or heat pumps are polluters and un-green and cannot be allowed. “We” can import everything, from manufactured goods to food and never mind the CO2 footprints.
And so, one part of the chattering “ruling class” celebrates medical wonders helping females – actual or transgenders – fulfilling their dreams while turning away from the dismal state of the NHS where admin rules medics. The other part of that class is posturing as ‘green heroes’, securing another country’s ‘fuel security’ while disregarding ours and even disregarding our food security. Surely, there will be lawyers who will make sure that any green crap law will be implemented.
That’s all I have for today. It’s fascinating to observe how we’re being ground down between the ideological millstones of green crap and uber-feminism with nary a word of protest … Have a good day.
“Why is it that every government decision is being dragged through the courts, at huge cost to us taxpayers? ”
First theatre to make it look as if they’re putting up opposition even though they know there’s nothing doing.
Second it’s a bonanza for the lawyers. The politicians lawyers and the rest all have their own different rackets winking at each other while they fill their boots
Its increasingly looking like a lawyer/courts junta has taken over the running of this country, and that a democratically elected government has been effectively anaesthetised to the point where it cannot lawfully govern. In the past various politically unstable countries around the world feared their governments could be toppled by by military juntas, and although that is unlikely ever to occur here in Britain, a whole series of traitorous Labour and Conservative administrations have handed massive amounts of power to the courts and lawyers over the years who seem to have the final say as to what limit we can leave the European Union, and how foreign illegal migrants can ride roughshod over our borders and waltz into the country without passports or any other personal documentation. The first step towards authoritarianism via the back door, if you ask me. We really need to be rid of Sunak and his cronies before they allow this country to sink any lower than it is now
Indeed he has to go Stout, preferably never to darken our country again.
“There’s none so blind as those that will not see.”
They will not see their country being invaded.
They will not see their history and culture being destroyed.
They will not see the domination of, pervasive, depraved ideaologies.
They will not see their children being indoctrinated.
They will not see the impending hardships due to Eco-lunacy.
They will not see the attacks on free speech.
They will not see the lack of democracy.
They will not see anything …. until it is too late.

I don’t care how we do it but Khan has to go.
Womb transplants..
They believe in 20 years, this thing may get it’s wish..

I never used to take the writing of Ambrose Evans-Pritchard seriously but he appears to get less and less credible.
Maybe we should despatch Shapps to the Russian Front immediately? And he can take my MP too. They both talk a bloody good war and would be far happier serving General Blackrock.
Matt up North……..I agree. When I read that report last night that Schapps had promised to supply Uranium enrichment fuel to the tune of £192 million to the Ukraine I was incensed. Giving even more of our money away to a country that is essentially corrupt is an insult to the people of this country who are having to weather the storm of a cost of living crisis whilst the inept of all inept governments continues to fritter away taxpayers money on trivialities. The good news is that we the electorate will not have to put up with the likes of Schapps for very much longer as both he and the ruddy useless government and party to which he belongs will be toast come the next general election. I am looking forward to the day when the likes of Grant Schapps have to go out and get a proper job once they lose their seats. He for starters, will not be missed and represents everything that is bad about modern conservatism.
One item missing from the ‘noos’ – the replacement for the uS dollar. It seems there are another six to eight countries wanting to sign up. US$ RIP.

Wikipedia suggests that the world wide number of successful pregnancies in transplanted wombs can be counted on one hand. Births are by caesarian and all are followed by hysterectomy to avoid a life time on anti-rejection drugs. Womb transplants thus consume significant surgical and medical resources over a period of years. It is carried out by advanced medical teams just because they can (though only in the past ten years or so) and one suspects because it is a feather in their cap. I imagine the gynaecologists involved needed a distraction from all the ovarian and other ladies’ cancers they have been failing to treat since covid.
SY………….Wikipedia? Are you taking a leaf out of Mr. Harold Armitage’ book by any chance. Where is HA by the way, he is conspicuous by his absence.
Trans men take note..
A marvellous poem in TCW today, probably written in the late 50s early 60s.
The author could not have known how prophetic this would be.
https://www.conservativewoman.co.uk/the-boy-who-identified-as-a-car/
I wonder if the poem would have been cancelled today by the green lobby..because of the poor lads carbon emissions.
The link at the bottom of the article takes you to a selection of his other poem. All worth a read.
A modern update on the above.

Mad they certainly are the BBC Radio show ‘ The Archers’ an every day story of country folk, does anyone listen it now, has just featured it’s first lesbian kiss, you really couldn’t make it up, meanwhile in the madhouse of Westminster that is now just a glorified County Council as the hush puppy kid Ken Clarke always wanted they all appear not to have heard of Malow’s theory of hierarchy , they should take some time and read it , before the result of ignoring it bites them all hard because like it or not it’s going to and sooner than most think.
