“Alt media”: now needing the label ‘spoiler alert!’ 

 

Have you noticed – our MSM and those across the Big Pond are desperately trying to ‘frame the debate’ by going back to ‘normal’. Taliban, Afghanistan, are no longer of much concern and even covid is suddenly of less interest. Yes, they are trying to fulfil the government’s aim to get more people clamouring for that third jab or the first one for kids; yes, they are having the odd story or two about the Taliban and Afghanistan – but the ‘enthusiasm’ shown by dedicating acres of newsprint and hordes of pixels has gone.

However, thanks to more and more people accessing what is snidely labelled ‘Alt Media’, there’s a funny phenomenon we can observe in ‘our MSM’. Many readers from different nations have seen this in their national MSM as well: some events and results published in those Alt Media turned out to be so important that the ‘official’ MSM had to take notice. That’s why so many ordinary people now say those Alt Media news ought to carry the label ‘spoiler alert’.

These reports, shunned if not denounced by the official propaganda media and their ‘fact checkers’, are not fiction, not ‘fake news’, but based on facts. The MSM will have to report them later anyway. “Later” means after they’ve received “guidance”, telling them how best to spin it. It’s come to this that I’m now trying to find an expression for the unit of time passing between such a ‘spoiler alert’ and the MSM picking it up.

The smallest unit I can find is ‘a few hours’. I believe this is solely due to the seriousness of the situation in the Near East. Last night I received an email from an Israeli news source, about the Taliban having given to Iran some of the US military material left behind. I usually apply the ’24-hour-rule”, i.e. wait for 24 hours, for confirmation from other sources. Imagine my astonishment when I found a report in The Times this morning, published at midnight. It is rather curious:

“A convoy of US military vehicles provided to Afghan forces has been filmed heading for Tehran having been handed over to the Iranian authorities. […] The convoy to Iran included Humvees and “MRAPs”, light armoured vehicles specially protected against mines. The social media channel that first showed the film, and specialises in Iranian military affairs, said that the Iranians had also taken possession of American tanks. The channel could not confirm details, and it was not clear how Iran came to possess the equipment.” (link, paywalled)

We’ve known for some time that our MSM love using social media as ‘source’ for reports and that they love even better copying tweet after tweet to make up a story, However, it is quite staggering that not even The Times has tried to confirm details nor did they apparently check other sources. There’s a first attempt at ‘spin’ though, or what we nowadays call ‘framing the narrative’:

“There have been reports of Afghan soldiers fleeing over the border into Iran to avoid surrendering to the Taliban, and analysts have speculated that the Iranians, who have given the troops shelter, simply took the vehicles in return.” (link, paywalled)

That is a possibility, although one wonders how those Afghan soldiers managed to flee when the country was overrun by the Taliban. Here’s more spin, all based on supposition: no facts, no ‘sources’ confirming or refuting this:

“Iran’s relationship with Afghanistan and the Taliban is sensitive and a matter of dispute. The US believes that Iran supported the Taliban’s rise to power, including by training them in the use of roadside explosive devices.” (link, paywalled)

As Biden and his State Department, as indeed our own FO lot are trying to cosy up to the Taliban, I’m left to ponder if their finger-pointing is an attempt to divert our attention from that other neighbour, the country where decades ago the Taliban found shelter. Official silence is always a danger sign – and we’ve heard hardly anything at all about Pakistan or the involvement, covert and overt, of the Pakistani secret services and armed forces in this rapid Taliban victory. Strange, that … very strange!

Here’s another example for a ‘spoiler alert’, a news item which was ridiculed when it was mentioned in Alt Media. It has now received the attention of the MSM. I apologise for having forgotten when and where this ‘spoiler alert’ news first surfaced. It’s therefore impossible for me to calculate the time unit elapsed until the report surfaced in The Times:

“Foreign particles found in doses of the Moderna vaccine in Japan were stainless steel from factory machinery, but they do not threaten health and are not connected to two unexplained deaths, the manufacturer says. Moderna and its Japanese distributor, Takeda Pharmaceutical, have recalled more than one million doses of the vaccine after confirming the presence of the particles — the result of friction between parts of the production line in Spain that installs stoppers on vials of the vaccine.” (link, paywalled)

Note well that those two deaths are mentioned but pooh-pooh’d in the same sentence by the manufacturers – “they would say that …”! And anyway, we’re told, it’s not dangerous because other things inserted into our bodies are made of stainless steel as well, so no worries:

“Metallic particles of this size injected into a muscle may result in a local reaction, but are unlikely to result in other adverse reactions beyond the local site of the injection,” the companies said in a joint statement.” (link, paywalled)

Yay! It’s ok, and above all don’t even think about worrying what else might have got into the ‘vaccines’ during their production! A little ‘local reaction’ is neither here nor there, is it! Strangely enough there was an earlier report in The Times, published on Bank Holiday Monday – a day when most of us, certainly I myself, took a break from reading the MSM:

“Two men with no pre-existing illnesses died days after receiving Moderna vaccines from a batch in Japan contaminated with tiny metal flakes. Thirty-nine vaccine vials were found to contain the fragments last week at eight centres in five prefectures, including Tokyo. They were part of three batches made for Moderna in Spain. At least 180,000 people are understood to have been injected from the batches. More than 1.6 million doses have been withdrawn. The men, aged 30 and 38, developed fevers shortly after receiving their second doses early this month and died within days.” (link, paywalled)

Remember: these two deaths are pure coincidence, nothing to do with anything, certainly not with those ‘metal flakes’ and above all not with the jab. Remember though the old saying about coincidences:

“Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times is enemy action.”
