You want Summer Holidays? Make everybody get a jab!
It’s a marvel: Lockdown sceptics are prophets! Didn’t we say that the mass vaccination drive would lead to the introduction of vaccine passports, only for ministers and the Lockdown MSM to pooh-pooh our warning? And lo and behold – vaccine passports are coming. Then there’s the door-to-door mass testing. While we’ve not yet heard if this exercise was successful in finding who all harboured those terrifying covid mutants, it must have been very successful for the covid emperors because, lo and behold, we now find that government is planning a door-to-door exercise to ‘persuade’ what they’ve labelled ‘vaccine refuseniks’ to change the error of their ways. More on all that below.
Firstly though, let’s look at that other ‘marvel’, that ‘lockdown exit strategy’. The wonderful thing about that is that it’s tailor-made to appease the denizens of Audi Avenue: schools opening, outdoor exercise and sports to be permitted for groups, meetings permitted outdoors, ‘al-fresco’ meals in restaurants to be permitted – even outdoor markets to be allowed to resume. These are the ‘goodies’ being dangled in front of our eyes, devised to make BJ look good because he’ll allow us to get back to some semblance of ‘normal:
“Boris Johnson’s plans for a release from lockdown in the spring will prioritise open-air contact and set out dates for the opening of retail and then hospitality after pupils return to classrooms. Outdoor activity is likely to be permitted first in each phase. Team and individual sports such as golf and tennis, along with limited social gatherings outside, would therefore be possible within weeks of a planned return of schools from March 8.” (link, paywalled)
Before you start rejoicing – note that BJ is still keen on keeping schools closed, However, there are some SAGEs who are dancing out of line, just a bit:
“Paul Hunter, professor of medicine at the University of East Anglia, suggested some primary school years could even go back before the March 8 date proposed by the prime minister. “Case numbers have dropped far more rapidly than I was expecting with this new variant. That’s what’s driving my optimism,” he said, predicting that a gradual reopening could mean social gatherings by the end of March with pubs and restaurants opening shortly after.” (link, paywalled)
So these covid mutants are suddenly not as scary as we were told earlier this year? Who knew! What’s more, there are SAGEs who – in a perfectly ‘personal capacity’ only, you understand – are keen to see schools going back to ‘normal’. One wonders if they and all those other civil serpents who are nicely WFH have had enough of looking after and schooling their kids. After all, even when they have a back garden, this time of year kicking their kids out is a bit cruel, what with the cold and wet weather.
Now even some Tory MPs seem to think enough is enough as “increasing numbers of Tory MPs have publicly called for schools to be opened before March 8th” (paywalled link). They’ve perhaps picked up a statement like this one:
“Professor Andrew Hayward, a UCL scientist and member of SAGE. said yesterday that while the present situation was still “serious”, a turning point could come when all those over 50 were vaccinated — most likely at some point in the spring.” (link, paywalled)
Well, BJ is clearly not – yet – thinking of opening schools before 8th March, never mind his MPs grumbling. Given that this ‘exit plan’ aims for permitting all those outdoor activities’ only ‘within weeks’ of school openings, this brings us elegantly to Easter at the beginning of April. Decisions haven’t been made:
“Government sources said that the plans were “tentative”, and that only the date for the earliest return of pupils had been agreed. […] A new set of indicators to be used to judge whether England can move to the next stage of the release is being prepared. Johnson has said that he does not want a return to regional tiers.” (link, paywalled)
Gawd, aren’t the mandarins busy! I’m sure they’ll follow the SAGEs who “believe that any reopening needs to be very gradual” (link, paywalled), even though Rishi’s remarks criticising the SAGE strategy of goal-post shifting seems to have rung some bells:
“The Telegraph has found that at least four other Cabinet ministers share his view, with one source saying: “Several Cabinet ministers are worried about the scientists trying to push back on the promises the PM has already made. How can anyone plan if once a target is met, another one is suddenly set?” One member of the Cabinet said: “There are Cabinet ministers who agree with him.” (paywalled link)
Yeah, well – good that they’ve noticed! We’ve said so for months. Mind though, they’re not doing anything about it because they seem to believe that it’s right and proper that ‘all must have jabs’ first. Surely you couldn’t have failed to notice that these ‘sunny uplands’, these ‘jam tomorrow’ promises all depend on more people being vaccinated, now including the over 50s. This is where the horrific proposal by the vaccine tsar Nadhim Zahawi comes in. He told MPs yesterday that:
“People who have not accepted vaccination offers could get knocks on the door from council staff in an attempt to convince sceptics “home by home”. He told MPs that he wanted to use councils to seek out those who had refused offers and see what might convince them, after local authorities successfully deployed door-to-door contact tracers to find people whom national services struggled to reach.” (link, paywalled)
See how this works? Nobody complained about door-to-door testing, so why would anybody complain about local council employees – these aren’t medics, I don’t think! – to ‘persuade’ those horrid vaccine refuseniks to go and get their jab? It’s also pure coincidence that these door-to-door jab-canvassers are approaching the elderly who generally seem to be more credulous and submissive when someone ‘in authority’ tells them to obey.
After all, surely even a hard-core vaccine refusenik can be made to toe the line so that kids can go back to school and people can plan their summer holidays, armed with that vaccine passport! Surely they’ll understand the plight of those poor people inside the M25, forced to WFH, deprived of summer holidays or short get-aways to sunny foreign shores – and will gladly change their refusenik minds!
And so to those ‘vaccine passports’. It’s not just “us” who want them if this means “we” can have a summer holiday. There are countries who are or might demand such passport. And lo and behold – this is what our WFH Whitehall mandarins have been working on:
“British officials have started work on a “vaccine passport” as Greece prepares to waive quarantine rules for tourists who can prove that they have been inoculated against coronavirus. A certification system is being planned, The Times has learnt. The Foreign Office, Department for Transport and Department of Health and Social Care are working on options for travellers to countries that may demand it as a condition of entry.” (link, paywalled)
I had to rub my eyes and double-check that I was reading what correctly when I saw the reason for this sudden activity:
“British tourists may be welcomed to Greece in May provided they can provide proof of inoculation against the coronavirus, tourism officials said. Government officials have told the Greek Ministry of Tourism that Britain’s vaccination process is so advanced that British holidaymakers will save their lucrative summer season. About two million Britons visit Greece every year, second only to the Germans, spending more than €10 billion.” (link, paywalled)
Let’s turn this around: in order to allow a certain segment of the population – yes, ‘tis the WFH crowd – to enjoy a holiday while feeling good about saving the Greek tourism industry, local employees must go door-to-door and persuade vaccine refuseniks over 70 to get that jab and never mind that refusing such jabs is legal and comes under ‘human rights’.
Refuseniks cannot be allowed to refuse their jab because that would throw into disarray the government’s plans to get the over 50s jabbed, starting from mid-February, and the lovely exit strategy of getting people out again, within limits and very carefully, after schools open from March onwards. Any bets that there’ll soon be an app to show that one’s been jabbed, perhaps with a sweet little lapel button for those who don’t own a smartphone? Is this how our civil freedoms are meant to be restored to us by this covid government?
I leave you with news that it’s no longer ‘politics by tweets’, faithfully copied into ‘political articles’ in ‘Our MSM’. It’s now going to be ‘politics by influencers’. Influencers are, as many will know, those beautiful people who swan around the world, covid or not, promoting themselves and some products on Instagram. They have, to no-one’s surprise, huge hordes of followers. So now see this:
“Labour has urged its MPs and staff to cultivate relationships with social media influencers and celebrities in a bid to spread Sir Keir Starmer’s message in advance of local elections in May. […] Labour officials wrote to parliamentary offices yesterday to push the importance of endorsements from celebrities […]. “If politicians have a good relationship with celebrities, influencers, potential endorsers with large social media following […] we would really appreciate your help in cultivating and maintaining these relationships so that we can make an ask through you for our key campaigns,” they said.” (link, paywalled)
Yes, that’s right: luvvies endorsing Labour aren’t sufficient – Labour now needs vapid Influeners and even more celebrities to spread the Kneeler’s message. This is another step towards the lemmification of the Nation.
Why not simply hand the HoC over to influencers? It’s run by Zoom already anyway, so who needs MPs when someone sitting at a swimming pool in Dubai can tell their followers what to do! Again, and as so often nowadays: words simply fail me!
KBO!
What a great way to spread infection around. Send officials round to knock on peoples’ doors and shout at them for 10 minutes. The flu and coronavirus seasons are over in another month or so. Happy to trust to my immune system enhanced by vitamin C and D3 and Zinc till then. My money can go to British hotels and restaurants then (again.)
Viv you have frightened me!
When the council come knocking my door, I daren’t let them in to the warmth of my home because then they’d find out I’ve had a back door put in without permission.
So I’ll have to stand in the cold!
Oh I know. I’ll light a fag and deliberately blow the smoke in their face. That should see them off!
I have had a vaccination document for years. To travel to many third world countries you need one. If you haven’t got one you will be refused entry or given a vaccination on the spot.
This is how many of the world’s killer diseases have been (near) eradicated.
We all were tested for TB at school and given a jab. We all had polio jabs. Small pox has been eliminated.
There’s a list of them here.
https://www.cdc.gov/vaccines/parents/diseases/forgot-14-diseases.html
So why all the whinging?
Whatever the morbidity of covid at present, it could easily morph into something far more deadly in the future.
We have to eliminate it before it does.
I’ve still got one of those yellow vaccine passports floating around somewhere in the back of one of my cupboards. Yes, they were mandatory when travelling to certain countries. The difference is though that a) nobody who wasn’t going to those countries was ‘nudged’ to get such vaccines, nor had, IIRC, the ‘natives’ actually been mass vaccinated. And b) the vaccines given were long-established, proven vaccines. They were not totally new, freshly engineered vaccines which had never been used on humans before, like the mana vaccines.
And finally – given that the virus seems to evolve and mutate so rapidly (which gives rise to other scientific questions not of importance here) it’s by no means clear, nor can it be, that the vaccines being given at the moment are conferring protection against such mutants. After all, we know from the flu virus that new variant occur rapidly and that previous flu jabs don’t protect against new mutants.
Thus mandatory vaccination – unless deemed to be needed freshly every year, like the flu jabs – seems like shooting with the proverbial cannons and that a vaccine passport is nothing more than another bureaucratic measure placed on people.
But then again, who needs to travel to foreign countries – we can all watch influencers on instagram so don’t have to go there ourselves nowadays … not that most of us will have the money to do so …
Thanks for answering Harry Again Viv. I think you’ve covered everything except the point that these jabs are genetic material. So far as I know those long ago ones that did no harm were not.
Do you think perhaps Harry Again is being paid a high salary to support either the dictators, civil serpents or big pharma?
Err . . You couldn’t possibly comment. Of course.
Nah, AFAIK he certainly ain’t. That’s all and it ain’t a comment …
The yellow passports and associated regulation red zip-ups have done and do allow you through ports no probs.
However the passport listings are for diseases – eg yellow fever. They do not cover viri as there is no innoculation against them.
Don’t start crying until you have been hit.
The ‘jab’ moderates the ebola variant aka covid-19 so it is not so bad. That is not so debilitating if you are one of the very few who are affected. It does not prevent or cure. That’s what all the 54 pct effective is all about. Same as 54 pct pregnant.
It is not an innoculation, hence it is not an innoculation.
Rubbish.
The very first vaccine was against the polio virus.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polio_vaccine
I should have followed the rule. Dont feed the troll.
By the time you get your vaccine, it will have been “tested” on millions of people, probably world wide.
I’ll be getting mt first jab next week.
Far more is known about vaccines than when I got my early days vaccination.
Flu also evolves rapidly, a new vaccine is designed every year.
Don’t be so whimpish!
I look forward to getting my vaccination badge so I can go into Tesco/cinemas/opticians etc.without being a danger to others.
Re spread of virus by the innoculated:-
What like all the other 200 coronaviruses that we have lived with for millennia didn’t? How about we eliminate hyperbole and totalitarianism instead?
“Whatever the morbidity of covid at present, it could easily morph into something far more deadly in the future.”…. So Harry, are you suggesting that Covid-19 now is not the Doomsday Virus for the whole human race ? Then why are we in the UK having endless lockdowns that hinder herd immunity ? Especially when Sweden without lockdowns has a lower death rate from Covid-19 than the UK has with lockdowns ?
Sweden. Not true. Their policy has failed. They are now pursuing a course similar to everywhere else.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-55347021
Harry Again…….You are on a roll with sensible postings of late, and again I agree with you. I dare say the vaccinations are not universally popular with everyone, but they represent the best chance of life returning to normal rather than what we are having to endure at the moment. I for one don’t want to be banged up at home forever and a day, and we need to get the economy moving once again, and get people back to work etc.
Colin Hussey. Your decision to have it because it is the way for life to return to normal is rational, makes sense.
Harry’s decision to have it is ‘to protect other people’. The old time jabs were to ‘protect ourselves’.
So,I’m sorry, but Harry’s comments are not sensible.
The so called refuseniks (including myself for a perfectly valid reason in addition to the propaganda), that I know will have a short sharp response to anyone coming to our doors to persuade us to have this vaccine.
Yes Lisa. See my comment above!
Do you wonder why the govmt has tried for so many years to disarm the public?
That crossed my mind Biscotte. I wouldn’t want everyone allowed to carry a gun here as they are allowed in U.S.A. But maybe that is why our former colony went down that road.
“Words fail me!” Well they almost fail me too! I am speechless with rage and something that begins to feel very much like despair! Boris Johnson has now surpassed any other of our previous PMs by a country mile in terms of hubris; ineptitude and treachery. In a few short months he has brought this country to the brink of ruin and turned its people into a cowering mass of fearful compliance!
Even if May elections are held, it is impossible to conceive of voting for any one of the three ‘pinko’ parties. Even if there were candidates from the emerging ‘alternatives’ you could not gamble on the chance that the sheeple (who have been coerced into believing every word they have been force fed by the ‘self-styled ‘experts about the ‘fearful pandemic’ that ‘we’ have endured) would not, once again, ‘run home to momma’!
Where have all the strong minded ‘bolshie’ Brits gone? Ground down to dust by the insidious onslaught of ‘politically correct’ dogma that has been intravenously fed into every home and every mind over the last several decades persistently and relentlessly obliterating the power to think and learn for oneself what is reality as opposed to what is a chimera created in the minds of those who wish us nothing but harm.
No foreign power has beaten Britain in recent history. Britain is now in serious danger of being beaten by her own home grown enemies!
The Yorkshire vaccine. ” If it comes near me, I’ll flatten the bastard “
And anyway. Look at it… It is clearly designed to frighten the living daylights without killing anybody below 60. .Certainly never troubling anyone under 20. Ok , have a day off…Therebye
Maintaining the succesion of useful population, maintaining the succession of workforce, no interruption of all institutions, Giving some credence and rationallity to global institutions llike WHO.
Just look.
Unfortunately, the best laid plans did not assume irrationality, Politicians panicking evertwhere or, and pure imbecility from WHO.
Another fine mess As for all the nonsense we have piled on piles of piles of such as “You might be Killing Granny”
Just saying.
Just think. No wonder they’ve shut pubs.”Sobvius Hic
T. G.Spokes. Unlike Harry Again, you do have sense in your comment.
Do you have a passport for the Yorkshire Republic? A friend of mine has, so they do exist.
TG Spokes…..what points are you making in this rant of yours, I can’t make head or tail of it, its doing my head my head in. I need a tumbler full of Single Malt myself. Who said ‘well, that another fine mess you’ve got me in’, oh yes Oliver Hardy to Stan Laurel. Have you met them in your time travels in the Grandfather Clock……..
Such I shame my council isn’t reelecting this year. I would have loved to NOT vote for the Tories again.
MWT Wouldn’t it be satisfying if we voted by putting a line through all the wrong ones!
Frederica……….The May local elections are definitely going ahead, so the government announced today. Boris Johnson cannot forestall democracy forever and a day because of Covid 19 or anything else. His party are facing a wipe out locally and nothing more than they deserve to be honest, so whilst it is everyone’ right to vote for whom they like, if the electorate want real change in this country, then they shouldn’t continue to vote for the same dreary stuck in their ways mainstream parties like Conservative, Labour and Liberal Democrats. I think a lot of people have had enough of what these parties have to offer, and that’s not terrible much. Several new parties have been formed of late including Reform UK, Heritage Party, Reclaim, and then there is the SDP, so there is more than enough choice there, so lets give some other parties a chance to deliver what the majority want of local government. Apart from anything else this dreadful government supposedly led by Boris Johnson needs one almighty kick up the backside.
As one who has declined the “antidote” I have written to my GP asking very nicely that he honours his confidentiality commitment and that my personal identity is not given to any outside agency, either civil or private. I have received no reply so can only suspect that my request has been ignored without the surgery having the courage or decency to admit this to me. If some busybody council “gofer” comes knocking he will be politely asked to leave my property. Any advice from readers will be appreciated, especially relating to Scottish law which I believe gives a Common Law right to confidentiality.
I cannot comment on Scottish Law but like the treason act, barista bliar and no doubt on advice of his barista wife abolished much of confidentiallity law. We know the way things work, after a while there are many similar things that enforcement encompasses things that are not in fact covered. Its known asmission creep.
For example, quote the actual law and when it was passed for most of these lockdown fines.
Good thinking Derek. I failed to get email access to my GP’s surgery so could not easily do what you have done.
Actually, I suspect my medical centre are not that much involved with all this data sharing – possibly by design. Good for them.
I am not convinced that the elites have had genuine vaccine shots. Will they have fake vaccine passports? The suggestion that you can still catch and transmit the virus despite vaccination has been planted in our minds in readiness for the eventual cases among the chosen few.
I hope this Nadhim Zahawi gets it!
Two remarks !
Who with any wit cares or listens to self inflated so called celebs or left wing nutters
To save the council worker getting off his fat arse, this refusenik ( over 70 )is firmly entrenched, when the politicians saw it was necessary to remove the liability from the manufacturer that was the end game to my participation
I’ll send the council goons packing in short order if they darken my door , but first I’ll demand their name and ID before I’ll even speak to them. and I’ll have my camera ready in case they get stroppy
I dont suppose we could make legal repercussions for them for peddling a potentially harmful substance while medically unqualified , using undue influence, especially on not-so-alert old people? Someone somewhere should be personally financially liable.
Well said (again) Mary. I too will give them short shrift.
Whenever, in recent history, I have needed my Local Surgery or Doctor I have struggled to get very much care or attention. And THAT after a monumental, number of hours hanging on the end of the phone- line. ‘And also like very many have been systematically hampered, rather than assisted, by the ‘Receptionists’ better known to me as the ‘Harridans’ who greet me with bared teeth………protecting their well remunerated Masters The Holy Society of Doctors.
Now that the (Ahem!) Medical Centre are being paid by the ‘jab’ and other ‘services’ I don’t seem to be able to get them, and every other Health Service Telephonist known to man, off my back.
To say I have been ‘plagued by the Virus of the Surgery Phone’ is an understatement.
And. like another writer contributor points out, since the ‘ Manufacturing Mafia’ have NO reponsibility if things go drastically, or even fatally wrong….(which, who knows, may well, occur!) .I have decided to allow another year at least before I succumb.
I will leave it to those millions of other ‘souls’ (human guinea-pig lemmings) who are doing me the favour of taking the risks for me……..and then, when I THINK the statistics and the odds are more in MY favour, I might succumb to the Universal Panic and take the ‘jab’. I will forego that Caribbean Cruise or six-month World Tour (OK, Yeah….I AM joking!)
I do hope that everyone who supports this great site…especially those who slave to keep,us occupied behind the scenes, will get through this period in good health and humour.

Nadhim Zahawi Iraqui born Vaccination Minister.
He should know a thing or two about the dark arts of state coercion.
A vast council tax rebellion is long overdue. But the last straw is we are paying for these useless goons to go knocking on doors trying to trick people into falling for what is basically a colossal scam and crime against humanity. I wish the great British public had the guts to do en masse. Its the only way we could stop these criminals
A certain person warning us about particular people holding the whip-hand over the indigenous Brits comes to mind.
Iraqui is he. I did wonder. No Pauline, don’t go off one one blaming Blair for bombing Iraq!
Zahawi……..I have often given my opinion on who and who should not be allowed to stand as a Parliamentary candidate to represent the general public in our country.
Many ethnics from Muslim countries often, too often, declare that they are not practising Muslims…..Sadie Khan is a perfect example….as are many who are MP’s. But often they swear on the Koran, not the Bible….and we blithely accept ‘their word’ as their bond.
Not I ! Never!
I don’t even trust those who profess to,be Christian….or any other religion for that matter.
But as for Islam? No way.
They can and do play every Koranic trick in the book….and believe me there are MANY, very many.
The Koran allows any and every Muslim to LIE whenever it serves the furtherance of themselves OR their religion.
How can a Muslim possibly represent an English, Christian or indeed a Jewish person…..when their Book declares ALL non-Muslims as the lowest of the low?
Save your vote for the lesser of two evils…rather a lying Christian than a lying Muslim is my yardstick.
YES! I am prejudiced. No doubt about it ……and will WILLINGLY argue my case.
Well argued Mrpaul5a. So that is not prejudice.
