The view after common sense has left the building …

Another day, another collection of news leaving me speechless. Common sense has left the building. Mediocrity and an attitude of petty tyranny rule. Now that covid has temporarily been relegated from the top spot in the papers, the ‘stories’ with which they’ve filled the pages are astonishing. The remarkable point isn’t that the various writers and reporters have swallowed whole the various mantras, e.g. green = good; NHS = sacred and illegal immigration = praiseworthy, it’s that the confusion created by hard reality hitting the virtue-signalling writers is so palpable.

Let’s start with our wonderful ‘sacred cow’. Unsurprisingly, they want more money from Sunak, i.e. from us, asking for a cool £600m extra, to ‘help’ prevent bed-blocking by ‘medically fit’ patients who need to go into rehab. After all, those beds will be needed – not for a new wave of covid but to deal with the ever growing backlog of patients. The NHS has apparently received this money previously, to help during the covid waves – but their reason for their demand is hilarious:

“The NHS was given £600 million for April until the end of September to fund safe discharge, but there has been no guidance on what will happen from October 1. The lack of information is causing panic among health and care leaders who are concerned that services such as home visits and community rehab centres will be stopped.” (link, paywalled)

The poor NHS bosses are panicking because there’s been ‘no guidance’ and therefore they need more money? Are the NHS bosses incapable of working things out for themselves? They are in fact threatening the Treasury that ‘conditions’ might revert to a ‘pre-covid’ situation where beds were blocked by ‘medically fit patients – that is the elderly, as we all recall, who were ‘decanted’ into care homes to die.

Moreover, without ‘guidance’ the NHS bosses can apparently not be expected to deal with the covid-created backlog! How is that even possible? Unsurprisingly, NGOs have signed that NHS letter as well, e.g. “Healthwatch England, the British Red Cross, the Local Government Association (LGA), and Age UK” (link, paywalled).Good to know these NGOs still exist because I cannot recall having heard from them during all those covid lockdown months. 

‘Tis interesting that the LGA is suddenly getting into the news. Here’s another of their forays into the ‘health’ debate. They’re now asking government to add ‘health concerns’ to the Licensing Act, so that they can refuse licences on the basis of alcohol-related hospital admissions. After all, our sacred you-know-what is paying over £3bn annually for ‘alcohol-related harm’ – terrible, innit!

Never mind the claim of the LGA to be ‘only’ concerned for our health, this demand shows that we’re drifitng and sliding ever deeper into a country run for the sake of the NHS, that our private data are going to be abused by petty tyrants in the name of ‘health’ and of course in the name of saving yon sacred cow:

“The LGA wants to see the Licensing Act updated to include a public health objective and allow for action “where premises fail to protect the health of their communities”. It also wants councils to be given greater access to NHS data, including hospital admissions and ambulance call-out details, to assist decision-making.” (paywalled link)

I’m sure  the LGA will come up with an app, to be added to the covid-NHS app, needed to enter one’s local pub – provided there’s still one left! People like apps, don’t they!

Next, let’s look at the latest reports on illegal migrants. There were nearly 1,000 illegals landing on our beaches yesterday. The French, in receipt of more of our money, declare themselves to be incapable of stemming this tide because the coastline is too long and the people traffickers are too clever with new tactics.

No-one asks why the French don’t turn the dinghies back – and of course no-one asks why our border farce boats and the RNLI boats don’t ‘guide’ those dinghies back to France. I’m not even scandalised any longer when I read that a MoD live-fire exercise had to be stopped because one of those dinghies entered the fire zone! I’ll not mention  my initial reaction regarding this humane MoD attitude … that would be racist and inhumane. 

While we give money to the French and accept their shoulder-shrugging excuse that there’s nothing they can do – it’s the summer holidays in France, after all – on this side of the Channel a ‘trade union’ has got their priorities right:

“It emerged that Border Force officers’ union, who say they have been overwhelmed by the surge in migrant numbers, have lodged a formal complaint with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) for alleged breaches of their working time conditions.” (paywalled link)

Tut tut! Clearly, “we” must see that these ‘officers’ can observe the H&S rules. clearly it’s unthinkable to ask that the ‘surge’ of illegals be stopped. Perhaps ‘guiding’ these dinghies back to France might help? Or are there ‘reasons’ why this cannot be done? Perhaps the RN isn’t fit for patrolling the Channel? Perhaps the MoD is scared of looking ‘racist’ if they order dinghies to be turned back? 

And finally – there’s news of some special green blobbery relating to the mega-green global green blob meeting of the green & good in Glasgow in November this year where 25,000 ‘delegates’ and hangers-on are expected. Covid travel restrictions? Nah – one rule for them, one for us!

The green Carrie regime is clearly oblivious of news that the ‘green’ minister has flown to 30 countries in the last seven months: ‘tis for a good cause, so forget the carbon footprint! worse – greenery clearly trumps covidiocy:

“Despite visiting at least six countries on the red list, Alok Sharma has avoided mandatory hotel quarantine after each trip because of a ministerial exemption, according to the Daily Mail. He has also been allowed to skip self-isolation after returning from amber list destinations.” (paywalled link)

Amazing – this intelligent virus knows it mustn’t infect green ministers! And anyway, “Government would calculate the carbon emitted for the event and the flights by Mr Sharma in order to offset it through schemes such as tree-planting.” (paywalled link) – so that’s alright then!

Will those trees be added to the millions BJ promised to plant when he ran for PM in 2019? No, don’t ask where the space for all those trees can be found. “We” have space for trees, for bird shredders, for ‘solar farms’ and for housing the extra tens of thousands of illegal migrants. Just allow NGOs and the NHS to run this country – just hand them even more of our money!

When will this Nation’s lemmings, muzzled and coloured green, stop putting up with this tax~ and health~slavery before they start buying pitchforks and piano wire? I’ve already got my sharpened spades ….
