Being made to vanish from our public spaces: a truly endangered species

Sorry, dear friends, but it has to be said: the outlook is grim. It’s grim not because ‘that virus’ is killing us off, right left and centre, but because the Westminster Cabal and the various cabals based in the local town and city halls are at it again, aided and abetted by ‘Our Sacred Cow’ which produced confusing messages today.

The hope of some sort of sanity entering the minds of government, of Labour and of ‘Our MSM’, never mind SAGE and its prophet Whitty, must be put to rest. Their various ‘we’re all gonna die because: “Covid!” messages are becoming ever more absurd. Reality is pushed aside for hysteria about numbers – test numbers, that is. It’s as if all those fearmongers, sitting nicely at home, have lost all connections to what is actually happening to us, the people, in our real lives, not the virtual life they ‘know’ from social media.

Any arguments from scientists and data experts which run contrary to “The Covid Narrative” are disregarded. No – we must be scared by ‘rising test case numbers’ which will be used to enforce more ‘local’ lockdowns until the whole country is covered by a lockdown patchwork which is of course not ‘National’.

Yesterday, the indispensable LockdownSceptics published a paper by eminent albeit non-government scientists (link) which ought to put to rest the ‘official’ hysteria about rising ‘cases’ as well as the complaint that test & trace is still not working, something ‘Our MSM’ are now getting their proverbial garments for the lower body into a twist. For example, see this report in the DT:

“It emerged on Thursday that efforts to suppress the second wave have been hampered by the worst weekly performance yet by NHS Test and Trace. Some 68.6 per cent of close contacts of people who tested positive for Covid-19 in England were reached through the system in the week ending September 30, the lowest weekly percentage since Test and Trace began and down from 72.5 per cent the previous week. The data also shows that 25.7 per cent of people who were tested for Covid-19 in England in the week ending September 30 at a regional site, local site or mobile testing unit – a so-called “in-person” test – received their result within 24 hours, down from 38 per cent in the previous week.” (paywalled link)

Yes – there it is again: only ‘test & trace’ can stop that 2nd wave, and it ain’t working. Politicians like Starmer, who has penned an article for the DT (it’s paywalled), use these ‘failure’ numbers as stick to bash government with but they’ll never bash ‘Our Sacred Cow’. Meanwhile local politicians use them to scream for moar lockdowns, provided they get moar money, our money.

Now see the shocking reality check which the test tzars disregard. This observation by the scientists writing in LockdownSceptics is truly staggering;

“Contrary to widely believed assumptions, there is no ‘gold standard’ test for COVID-19. A diagnostic process, namely PCR, has been used, but since the outbreak there has been no attempt to determine its accuracy. It might be shocking to find that research on lab grown ‘live’ cultures of the virus, taken from patients, had not been published until early August – eight months after the virus outbreak. These have been used to assess the accuracy of PCR and the results are not good. It has been shown it is possible to return a positive PCR test where a sample taken from the same patient never grows a viral culture – meaning the patient does not have an active COVID-19 infection despite the positive PCR test. The implications of this for the false positive rate of PCR tests are obvious and significant.” (link)

I’m simply speechless! How many times do scientists who are as qualified as the SAGEs (if not more so!) need to point out that the ‘Test Emperor’ is nekkid? This ought to put the whole ‘test’ exercise into ‘quarantine’ – but as there are far too many who profit from testing until we’re all shown to be covid-positive, don’t expect that to happen.

The future for us plebs looks distinctly unappetising. On the one hand, Hancock’s Health Empire is pondering if the ‘vulnerable’ who’ve been shielding since March ought to be told to keep on doing this, and never mind the consequences for their health:

“Hundreds of thousands of vulnerable people face being told to stay at home this winter as ministers plan to resume shielding in infection hotspots. Advice for clinically vulnerable people to avoid others could be included in the top tier of a simplified local lockdown system to be announced next week, as concern mounts about rising infection rates in the north of England.” (link, paywalled)

Well, that’s very caring, isn’t it, and reassuring, isn’t it: so far they only ‘think about’ continuing the personal lockdown for hundreds of thousands of people:

“The decision on shielding has not been finalised and could be delayed over fears for the mental health of people told to spend months at home alone. The shielding scheme in the spring was criticised for causing depression, loneliness and problems around food and healthcare.” (link, paywalled)

You won’t be surprised when you learn that this latest shielding diktat, ahem: advice, is being demanded again, in order to “Save the NHS”:

“Senior doctors warned that rising Covid-19 cases risked an NHS “implosion”, with a health minister saying that hospitals were ten days away from being critical and the test-and-trace system suffering its worst week.”  (link, paywalled)

This ‘fear’ by senior doctors’ contradicts another official message, from other ‘senior’ people in ‘Our Sacred Cow’. ‘Our MSM’ dutifully report today that NHS waiting lists are 90% higher than last year and as bad as in 2008 (e.g. link, paywalled). Someone in ‘Our NHS’ must have realised that this is becoming a scandal, so now we’re being treated to yet another campaign:

“The NHS is encouraging sick patients to visit hospitals and GP surgeries during the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic after thousands were turned away during lockdown. A new campaign, “Help Us to Help You”, is being launched to tell patients that they will not be viewed as a “burden” if they attempt to seek help for non-Covid ailments this winter. It comes amid fears that the mantra of “Protect the NHS” – when people were urged not to visit hospitals or GPs for fear of spreading the virus – led to thousands of patients being unable or unwilling to seek help during the first wave.” (paywalled link)

Isn’t it odd that ‘Our MSM’, that Starmer himself, are more keen to blame government for the ongoing test & trace fiasco but overlook the failure of ‘Our NHS’ to tackle the scandalous waiting lists. In an aside, inconspicuously placed in their articles on long waiting times and that latest slogan, we read:

“Despite being ordered to restore all non-Covid services at the end of June, NHS hospitals completed 43 per cent fewer routine appointments in August compared to the same month last year.” (paywalled link)

Is that not a scandal worth shouting form the rooftops? You really couldn’t make it up: at the same time as doctors demand ‘harsher measures’, i.e. to keep the self-shielding ‘vulnerable’ in their permanent lockdown, their employer, ‘Our Sacred Cow’ asks the shielded to come out and see their GPs or go to hospital, so they can ‘help us’!

I wonder though if the latest poll run by the doctors’ ‘trade union, the  BMA, will encourage people to trust ‘Our NHS’ to help them. This poll was about ‘assisted dying’ – not those “DNR” notices put in place in care homes and hospitals at the start of this outbreak, but about a law change:

“The BMA heard from almost 29,000 doctors and medical students and found that 50 per cent personally believed that doctors should be able to prescribe life-ending drugs for patients to take themselves. Thirty-nine per cent opposed this, and 11 per cent were undecided.” (link, paywalled)

Fair enough, you might say – why not let people who want to die in dignity allow them to do so. However, what sickened me wasn’t that doctors believe the law should be changed, it was this:

“The doctors surveyed did not want to administer the life-ending drugs themselves, however. Asked whether they would support a law change allowing doctors to deliver the fatal doses, 46 per cent opposed such a change, 37 per cent supported it and 17 per cent were undecided.” (link, paywalled)

In other words, doctors don’t want to sully their hands by administering life-ending drugs. They’d rather send patients or their relatives home with a prescription to kill themselves. Better not ask who will control such prescriptions – they’ll be handed out by doctors who can’t be bothered, who think those DNR notices were fine, who had no problem sending sick patients to care homes so as to ‘clear the decks’ for Covid patients.

Am I too cynical when I think such law change would be a wonderful way to clear the backlog of cancer patients who’ve not been seen, never mind treated, thanks to Covid? After all, telling them: ‘nothing can now be done – here’s your poison pill, you don’t want to be a burden on ‘Our NHS’, do you, even if we say that you aren’t’, surely will help ‘to keep Our NHS’ from ‘imploding’!

My trust in the medical profession, especially in the future of that profession, has sunk below zero. It’s because medical students as well as doctors seem to be happy to prescribe death drugs as long as they can keep their hands clean and not be asked to become another Shipman.

As our civil liberties are being restricted in the name of ‘conquering the virus’, who will stand up for the elderly, the grannies and gramps who don’t want to be ‘a burden’? Who will even notice if the elderly, already being removed from our public spaces because of “shielding” are being permanently removed? Too far-fetched? Not when you recall the continuous campaign against ‘baby boomers’!

Despite this gloomy outlook let’s enjoy, as much as we can, the life we’re still permitted to have. Perhaps a ‘silver campaign’ is what we need. Zimmerframes aloft, let’s

KBO!
