Watching the covid cabal’s shenanigans for you …
Nothing could have illustrated better the abyss between those who ‘govern’ us – from the G7 all the way down to MSM opinion piece authors – and us lockdowned, tax-paying peasants than the crop of ‘news’ in this morning’s papers. And what a fine crop it is!
For example, there was the launch of the new TV station, GB News. Oh how the broadsheets gloated over glitches! There are no glitches at the BBC, see – never mind that they’ve had decades to perfect their indoctrination of us with lovely, glitch-free ‘reporting’.
Still, The Times seems to think ‘GB New’s might yet bite’, launch glitches notwithstanding (link, paywalled). The DT writes that, glitches notwithstanding, GB News is already speaking their – our, the peasants’ – language (paywalled link). The DM has two articles, one describing the actual launch programme in detail (link). The other is based on tweets by the public which have been full of praise (link).
It remains to be seen if the BBC and Ofcom will relent in their attempt to bar GB News from sharing ‘pooled material’, e.g. the reporting from the HoC, an attempt which also goes for the huge news agency Reuters (paywalled link).
Then there’s the ‘one last heave’ BJ will announce later today, to keep the despised lockdown going, no matter what. Not even Sunak’s refusal to extend the furlough scheme past the 1st of July (link) is going to change this oh-so-beautiful imagery of that ‘last heave’, as if we haven’t been in ‘heave’ after ‘heave’ since the first lockdown was lifted, only to be reinstated. Btw, ‘heaving’ is also what one does before vomiting …
Actual data – that holy grail of BJ and his covid cabinet – simply don’t matter. After all, who wouldn’t support more lockdown when being told that there were 50% more covid deaths last week! 50% – shudder! Yes, it’s true: eight people died of covid last week as opposed to four in the week before (link). Don’t ask if these four more deaths, tragic as they are for the families, justify the many more deaths caused by lockdown ‘measures’: just submit to that ‘last heave’.
Then we have the latest weasel-worded explanations from ‘government sources’, that they only ever said that their aim was to end lockdown forever but that they must therefore be cautious and ‘have certainty’, that this is only a ‘straight race between vaccination and the virus’ (paywalled link). The DM picked up one little slip of whatever source’s tongue though:
“The PM has been told by ministers that lockdown rules will remain until next spring unless he can see off the pressure to delay their easing. “ (link)
Ah yes – ‘heave’ now, but by the autumn “we” will surely need another heave, the covid cabal will see to it! Who though are these ‘ministers’? Gove? Sunak? Hancock? Why are they frightened of coming out into the open? Interestingly enough, there’s at least one SAGE advisor who has gone public with his opinion:
“Prof Dingwall said on Sunday: “It is extremely damaging to business confidence, the economy, morale – especially since there isn’t really a clear justification for it. What we are seeing is the beginning of what endemic Covid looks like and we should be unlocking and living with that. I have been saying for 10 days now the only thing that would persuade me [not to lift restrictions] is a significant increase in intensive care admissions, and that is not happening.” (paywalled link)
Indeed it isn’t – the only ‘justification’ is in the minds of the Westminster bubble dwellers who are clearly planning for ‘more of the same’ oppression of us. After all, hasn’t that SAGE member, Ferguson, expressed astonishment that we were so submissive under the rules straight out of the CCP playbook last year? Hasn’t the SAGE member Michie, a card-carrying communist, flexed her muscles when she said that masks and the rest of it would be there ‘forever’?
Here’s the first hint that the covid cabal is indeed preparing for ‘more of the same’, that ‘last heave’ notwithstanding:
“Some cabinet ministers and Conservative MPs are concerned that the new deadline of July 19 could slip further if cases and hospital admissions continue to rise.” (link, paywalled)
They sure will, the SAGEs and the leaders of ‘Our Sacred Cow’ will see to it. Also, we covid-cabal watchers know that, as sure as God made little apples, there’ll be a next ‘variant’ which will drive up hospital admissions, regardless of the much-vaunted jabs. This means that, jabs or not, there’ll be no end to this, the covid cabal aims to keep us imprisoned forever.
Moreover, how is it possible that the G7 decided to donate millions of doses to the rest of the world – a fine instance of virtue signalling, this! – when their own people aren’t properly protected? When the aim of the covid empire here is to have all schoolchildren jabbed, regardless, even as there’s a shortage of doses?
It’s entirely possible when the aim of those mighty G7 leaders is to keep us plebs locked down in perpetuity, now also for ‘moral reasons’, i.e. helping the rest of the world! It’s virtue signalling at the highest level. One former PM couldn’t resist to put his oar in, blaming the G7 for not doing enough. Gordon Brown told SKY News that:
“I think this summit will also go down as an unforgivable moral failure, when the richest countries are sitting around the table with the power to do something about it.” […]“We will have a huge problem of a division between the richest countries that are safe and the poorest countries that are not safe. The problem will come back to haunt the richest countries because we will have contagion spreading that will hurt even the people who are vaccinated because of mutations and variants.” (link, paywalled)
Yay! It’s our ‘moral obligation’ to hand over vaccines so that ‘contagion’ by mutants and variants won’t spread. Gord – get with the script: variants and mutants are to be welcomed, in order to keep the West in permanent lockdown. Surely you ought to applaud this clever ploy!
Speaking of the G7 summit, here’s one other little item, picked up by The Times. Remember how Nigel Farage pointed out in his interview with FOX Business news (link) that the EU was disproportionately represented at the G7? Well, the EU managed to scupper, ever so diplomatically, an agreement on China:
“EU leaders blocked efforts to name and shame Beijing for using slave labour in Xinjiang, highlighting divisions over China among leading democracies.” (link, paywalled)
According to The Times, Biden’s proposal was supported by Trudeau, by the Japanese PM, even by Macron – BJ wanted to install another ‘task force’, i.e. kicking the can into the long grass – but the EU leaders Draghi, Merkel, vdLeyen and Michel prevented this. Well done, EU!
Here’s the last item I gleaned from the crop of news this morning, again from the G7. Savour this:
“As the night wore on, waiters wearing masks circulated with trays of food, while two dozen of the event attendees were seen bunching together closely in a group, without wearing face coverings or attempting to keep their distance from each other” (paywalled link)
The plebs, the working stiffs, had to wear masks so as not to contaminate those august beings! Hadn’t they been tested and jabbed? Nothing could demonstrate better the disdain they have for all of us who must follow their rules while they are exempt!
Finally, on that ‘last heave’ and the whole despicable lockdown cabal, Toby Young sums it up perfectly:
“Of course Boris can’t guarantee we’ll reopen on July 19th – how could he, when he’s delegated the decision to SAGE? And the boffins are bound to come up with another reason why it’s not “safe” to reopen then. Or, indeed, ever. The only way we’ll get our freedoms back is if we take them back.” (link)
Just so! Ditching the muzzles is the first step!
KBO!

The sheer brass neck of it all! Sashaying around maskless and arm in army while the plebs serve the food and drinks!!!!! This is all so Animal Farm!
‘From out of the farmhouse door came along line of pigs all walking on their hind legs. And finally there was a tremendous baying of dogs and a shrill rowing from the black cockerel and out came Napoleon himself majestically upright, casting haughty glances from side to side and with his dogs a gambolling round him. He carried a whip in his trotter.
There was a deadly silence. Amazed, terrified, huddling together, the animals watched the long line of pigs march slowly round the yard. It was as though the world had turned upside down. Then came a tremendous bleating from the sheep of “Four legs good, two legs better! `Four legs good two legs better! It went on for five minutes without stopping.
Then they saw written on the wall in place of the old ‘Seven Commandments’…….. “All animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others”
No wonder other commenters are calling Johnson ‘The Pig Dictator’!
Wake up folks! They have ‘come out’ and are now plainly displaying their disdain for the rest of us and their evil intent concerning our future (or no future as the case may be!!).
Sombody should draw a line in the sand, give it a date and call it ‘No more masks day’. Then everybody could remove masks at the same time. Safety in numbers innit!
The ‘vaccine ‘ is under emergency use authorisation. It cannot be used when there is no emergency. The emergency must go on so that the jabbing can continue. I cannot see this ending any time soon unless there is mass disobedience.
Just a couple of comments first:- I didn’t know N.F. had pointed out E.U. were over represented but J.R.’s Diary made that point too.
Is it accurate to include the E.U. under the title ‘Western Democracies’? Strikes me it is no more ‘Democratic’ than the U.S.S.R. was. It is a bureaucratic monstrosity.
Added to which, the E.U. is defending that oh so very democratic (not) regime based in Beijing.
I TOTALLY agree, they govern a trading block. Not a country yet!
“the huge news agency Reuters”
Sorry to be pedantic (not) but Reuters the News Agency is no more and hasn’t been for quite some time. For general news it is now Thomson Reuters (of Canada) and for economic/market information it is now ‘Refinitiv’ operating under the umbrella of the London Stock Exchange.
Regarding Boris’s delaying freedom day, if you don’t get out on to the streets in vast numbers and just say no, the government will be holding this lockdown business over you permanently.
Enough is enough, just say no.
Indeed flyer.
Pleasantly surprised by GBN. Leaving aside the gremlins, which were to be expected and irrelevant, and the appalling set design, the news and ambient tone of the reporting is what mattered, and the launch was better than I had expected. The first piece to camera at 9pm ticked a lot of the right boxes, but had a long way to go to match Rowan Dean (SkyNews Australia) but was such a change from the normal MSM, I had to remind myself I was watching a TV station and not having a chat with a normal person.
I was sceptical but this could be a literal game changer. It will throw the coverage of the pretend-right-leaning papers into stark relief, and they may need, or find courage, to reverse their ever-leftward slide. Some of the usual self-obsessed sneering commenters already suggesting the launch viewership will melt away. My feeling is that they are wrong in spades; that there is a huge audience for common sense, uncensored news and rational discussion.
The only fly in the ointment for me was the wimpy guy on the sofa (so out of place – looked like a perfect SkyNews commenter from the days before I stopped watching) who nominated Gordon Brown as his hero of the day for his compassion (pass the sick bag) in wanting rich countries to help vaccinate the third world. Obviously totally oblivious to the real agenda behind that ‘compassion’.
And talking of Gordon Brown, what is it about the walking corpses of our most useless, and in some cases dangerously misguided, political has-beens and never-weres? Like some zombie apocalypse they keep emerging from the darkness. Brown pushing the jabs; Blair pushing the passports. And Clegg of course; utter failure, none of whose deeply leftist ideas passed democratic muster, goes off to a private position where he a can literally force his agenda and bias on the whole world; and now the unworldly and malleable May.
May, who created the greatest surrender document of our time, the EU WA, and the corollary the little known military treaty that quietly signed us up to permanent co-operation with EU forces, is now being touted, undoubtedly for her unrivalled military background and prowess – or is it the reward they promised her? – as the next NATO Sec Gen. You could not make it up. Anyone worse would be hard to find. “Don’t you dare Mr Xi, or, um, I’ll get very cross.” That should do it.
I wonder that myself Philosophical. It is a case of eternal hubris! They are so puffed up in their own conceit that they still think the World is waiting with baited breath to hear their pearls of wisdom! Look like Nemesis has fallen asleep on the job!
Never mind the lack of masks or social distancing, the USA, France, Canada and Germany are all ‘amber list’ countries, so why (rhetorical because we all know why) is no one asking why – like all those ‘ordinary people’ returning from holidays cut short in, say, Portugal – their leaders and retinues are not quaranting for ten days.
As a scientist, you always start by listing all the caveats. As a politician caveats are not important and are instantly discarded, together with minor repercissions.. As a reporter you have to make it a gripping story.
You have a committee with politicions, scientists and reporters. No responsibility, overconfidant, unburdened by morals, understanding, and excessive self confidence.
Awesome.
Add in asprinkling of Advisers and Civil servants being economical with the truth.
Imagination boggles.
Thisis not a crossword clue. But the answer is
SAGACITY incarnate.
As I’ve said many times . In Biz ” Highly intelligent idiots ” ( Scientists etc ) can be useful . But never ever let them near a bizness.
