Morass: what Westminster really looks like …

Another Monday, another day where the Westminster morass dwellers, especially the MSM representatives, are supinely letting the waves of government edicts wash over them. There’s no outrage, no resistance to be seen. It’s as if they’re just waiting for some non-covid SAGE entity to tell them what to write and be outraged about.

There’s that drive to get everybody jabbed, even the toddlers. Some papers are now presenting us with the latest, desperate attempt, publishing at least one article in which we get to read a sob story about a poor person having died a horrible covid death in an ICU, every single one of them having been a ‘covid jab refusenik’. It’s so transparent – but nobody is outraged.

I wonder how much the government’s covid propaganda unit is paying those family members and the papers to breach patient confidentiality – a sacred NHS item! – for them to display their grief over the unneccessary death of a family member who just should have had the jab. One wonders if our own covid tsars long to have the power of NZ’s sainted Jacinda who locked down her whole country because one (!) person had covid. I won’t mention what’s happening in Australia. I just wonder why the Ozzies and the Kiwis are letting their governments get away with this.

The other ‘fear-porn’ campaign to get all under-24 jabbed is culminating in the warning that especially young people might get ‘Long Covid’ if they catch the virus unjabbed. That’s why ‘Long Covid’ articles filled the Sunday papers. Ah well, anything to get rid of all those jab doses stockpiled by our caring government, innit! From next month, all who want can have that ‘booster jab’ but let’s not worry about flu and other illnesses.

There was one interesting report yesterday – not in the MSM – which illustrates the mindless folly of our covid-obsessed lemmings. It’s about facemasks and I recommend you take a look yourselves – here – because of the impressive image at the top of that report. Amazingly, none of the green prophets in government or media have been wondering about the impact this avalanche of discarded masks is having on the environment. Anyone knows how our local councils are dealing with those mass mountains?

Next, let’s look at what is happening in Kabul. BJ is reportedly trying to extend the flights out of that place until next Sunday – if the Taliban will let him. Biden is now – now! – commandeering commercial airlines to help with the evacuation while at the same time US military machines use flares and make ‘combat landings’ for fear of Taliban attacks (link). Is Biden hoping for an ‘incident’ where such airplane comes to grief, to give him the reason to send the military back in?

‘Our people’, i.e. our military who’ve been sent in, are doing sterling work. We read that the SAS is getting civilians out but then, in a juicy piece in yesterday’s DM , we’re told that ‘our man in Kabul’, the UK ambassador, was actually ordered to stay behind (link). Hm. There were also reports, first surfacing in US papers, that our military and the US lot were apparently not, let’s say it politely, singing from the same hymn sheet. There’s this delightful quote in yesterday’s Times:

“Military sources told MPs that there have been “heated words in front of their troops” between British and American commanders at Kabul airport, where thousands are trying to get on a flight to freedom. In one account there was a “stand-up” row between officers from 2 Para and the US 82nd Airborne. In another an “irate” British officer “shouted down” a US superior. “The general’s mother’s lineage was called into question,” a source said.” (link, paywalled)

I confess I found the last sentence highly enjoyable! Meanwhile, back to the grim reality and to some numbers which show again that this government has lost all touch with reality while hectically signalling their virtue. Firstly, look at how they’ve moved the goalposts

“The list of people who qualify for evacuation was initially limited to British citizens and Afghans who have helped British forces. It now includes Afghan politicians, others from civic society and those who have supported humanitarian work, along with their families.” (link, paywalled)

Apparently “we” are now taking in anybody who wants to come. From Germany we hear that at least one Afghan criminal who had been successfully deported has managed to return to Germany on one of those ‘mercy’ flights. Yeah right: the Taliban would surely kill him, so theres nothing to be done. Now look at the sheer numbers:

“The Ministry of Defence said yesterday that 5,725 people had been evacuated, including 3,100 Afghan citizens. Government sources said that between 5,000 and 6,000 people who are eligible to come to Britain remain in Afghanistan. Although the RAF hopes to fly as many as 2,000 people out a day, ministers fear that hundreds if not thousands will be left behind.” (link, paywalled)

In one week of mercy flights, 3,100 Afghans have already been flown to the UK. “We” can expect that our military will manage to obey BJ’s virtue-signalling decision to get 20,000 Afghans into the UK, in addition to the 11,000+ Channel-crossing illegals who have already reached our shores this year. Over 600 landed on our beaches on Saturday. Meanwhile, the French are refusing to play ball, demanding that UK private firms not be given the task, proposed by the EU’s Frontex, to patrol the Channel:

“After Britain agreed to pay an extra £54 million for the Channel security effort, Gérald Darmanin, the French interior minister, said that he was bringing in Frontex and its resources to step up the fight against people traffickers. […] The newspaper report said that the French government was angered by the agency’s choice of a British company over Dutch and Austrian contenders. “With the background of Brexit, Paris does not want to hear any talk of such an option,” the newspaper said. “Off the record, France has imposed an outright refusal on Frontex.” (link, paywalled)

Lovely – let us stupid Brits pay and then push the whole problem onto the EU’s very long bureaucratic bench “because: Brexit!”. Here’s more:

“A senior interior ministry official said: “We are waiting for Frontex to put into action resources from inside the European Union.” Frontex and the French interior ministry said that discussions were continuing. There was no comment from DEA Aviation, one of the Warsaw-based agency’s main aerial contractors.” (link, paywalled)

How inane is that: let some EU agency in Warsaw (!) decide in the fullness of time while British companies mustn’t do the job. Mind you – why the HO and Patel don’t use them anyway, on ‘our side’ of th Channel is of course shrouded in mystery. Let those discussions continue well into the autumn when the weather will prohibit the dinghy-channel crossings: problem solved! Who cares how many more people from across the world come here!

To round this up, there was a demo in London on Saturday (link), demanding ‘peace in Afghanistan’. The photos accompanying that report speak for themselves, leading to irate comment posts from Brits. Don’t expect any joint-up thinking from the Westminster morass dwellers! They need to show their ‘goodness’, frantically keeping up their virtue-signalling.

I leave you with the latest news showing that madness isn’t restricted to the Westminster lot. The morass is present in the Welsh capital as well, where the Welsh virtue-signallers have wasted money to find out that, actually, the Welsh language is racist and divisive because it ‘excludes racial minorities’ (link). Will someone tell that Plaid Cymru MP, signalling her Welsh credentials by spouting Welsh snippets whenever she rises, that she’s a racist? I’m not holding my breath …
