D-Day veteran – before covid, when people were free
Yesterday was the 77th Anniversary of D-Day. A striking memorial for the Normandy Veterans for which they’ve campaigned for so many years was finally opened. Thanks to covid and the weather, the official celebrations were subdued. There’s a report in the DM (link) with lots of photos of those who attended the ceremony in Shropshire – not one was under 90 years old.
Not even this celebration could be left untouched by modern-day woke-ism, by a falsification of history that is hair-raising. The Times saw fit to display their ever so woke credentials in their report:
“The memorial records the names of the 22,442 servicemen and women under British command who fell in the Battle of Normandy that summer. Until now their names had never been brought together.” (link, paywalled)
This formerly top newspaper, still regarded by many across the world as ‘guarantee for excellence’, clearly employs reporters who are incapable or unwilling of fact-checking because it might contradict their feminist agenda.
Is it really so hard to find out that there were no women taking part in the Normandy Landings? Does The Times, ever so diligent when ‘fact-checking’ inconvenient facts, for example about covid, not know that there were no women taking part in combat, not then, and not for half a century later? Well, not in British and American forces, that is. The one woman who did ‘make it’ was the war correspondent Martha Gellhorn – here’s a brief description on how she managed it, written some years ago.
It is unbearable that even this event, the proud day of opening a memorial for those who died on the Normandy beaches on the day when the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany took place, is being utilised to push the woke agenda! But what can you expect from those writing and reporting from inside the Westminster Cabal, from those who’ve taken the government money and are blithely pushing the covid government propaganda!
The latest ‘news’ is that the infamous dating apps will now allow their users to inform potential dates of their vaccination status. Here’s how this happened, and if anyone still thinks that this has nothing to do with the nudge-obsessed covid empire – there’s a bridge I’m happy to sell them:
“A recent poll by YouGov suggested people are more likely to date someone who had taken the vaccine. Ministers hope the partnership between the Government and dating apps will help boost jab take-up in the young, with under-30s set to receive their invites this week. Some 31 per cent of adults surveyed said they would prefer to date someone who was vaccinated, while 28 per cent would not date someone unless they had received the jab.” (link)
Nothing more needs to be said about the YouGov ‘covid’ polls wich always deliver the justification for the next covid empire’s propaganda campaign. Moreover, should someone think this ‘just happened’, here’s more:
“Dating apps including Tinder, Hinge and Bumble have agreed a deal with the government that ministers hope will encourage users to register for the jab. From Monday, companies will add features to their apps and websites so users can show support for the vaccine on their dating profiles, and offer in-app bonuses such as badges, stickers, and free “super likes” to those who say they are vaccinated.” (link, paywalled)
Are we taxpayers now also paying dating apps providers so that the smartphone apps addicted youth will flock to get their jab, regardless? After all, these apps providers made ‘a deal’ with government, didn’t they, and that’s certainly not from the goodness of their hearts. Moreover, isn’t the timing simply precious: those app tweaks go live just on the day the under-30s are ‘invited’ to get their jabs. If someone thinks these tweaks were done only last night by these many apps providers, well, there’s that bridge I can sell …!
I wonder if Matt-the-Han realises that his threats about not honouring the promise of dropping all restrictions on Freedom Day might turn into the rope round his neck when the vaccinated youth simply disregards them. However, in yet another nicely orchestrated performance, be prepared for a still mandatory muzzle wearing after June 21st.
It’s the well-known, well-played melody: firstly, present a horrific threat to the public – like keeping us all in lockdown even after June 21st. Next, permit some MPs and some MSM commentators to rage against that proposal. Then ‘show leniency’ by faking a ‘retreat’ by only keeping some restrictions still in place. Oh, and re-write history whilst your at it. This is what Hancock did, explaining why not adhering to the promised Freedom Day wasn’t a promise after all:
“We are absolutely open to doing that if that’s what needs to happen. We said in the roadmap that June 21 is the date by which we would not take Step 4 before that date and that we would look at the data,” he said when questioned about the possibility of a delay. That is exactly what we are doing, so the roadmap was set up in order to be able to take these sort of changes into account.” The Telegraph understands the use of face masks, social distancing and advice on working from home are unlikely to be lifted on June 21 amid concern over the Indian variant.” (paywalled link)
Of course he’d be ‘absolutely open’ to anything which will keep his boots firmly planted on our necks! After all, he needs all the latest, spurious scare stats and YouGov polls to justify keeping us in. It’s too late now for some NHS figureheads to sort-of put their oar in, criticising SAGE modelling as “crude and unreliable at predicting the pandemic”, warning “against using it to decide whether to release restrictions on June 21.” (paywalled link). Too late – the covid empire will keep stomping on our liberties because ‘the people demand it’.
Meanwhile, BJ is now openly connecting covid to ‘climate change’. The Times writes that he’ll tell the G7 at their meeting later this week that the G7 nations must support mass vaccination in ‘poorer nations’ across the globe, saying “that a climate change deal will only be possible this year if the West provides money to help developing countries to tackle Covid”, (link, paywalled) presenting a ‘target’ of vaccinating the world against covid by the end of next year, telling the G7 that “we” will give away more than 100 million doses, worth £2bn.
Well, that’ll make up for the proposed cut in the Foregin Aid Budget, no? I wonder if BJ had another little private chat with a certain Mr Gates or with someone from the WHO. Their aim to have the whole world vaccinated has been well documented.

“Among those savouring the taste of freedom was Roy Smith, 94, a private in the 4th Battalion, Dorset Regiment, in the Normandy landings, who was later captured and spent six months as a prisoner of war. “I can’t remember the last time I came out to be honest,” he said of spending the past year in confinement. “Getting out and talking to people, it keeps you alive.” (paywalled link)
Indeed so, Mr Roy Smith – this is what we all experienced. My tears turned to tears of anger when I read that this ceremony was ‘a taste of freedom’. Is this what we can expect: ‘a taste of freedom’ for us who’ve been worst hit by the lockdowns, with the covid propaganda machinery patronisingly insinuating that we really ought to be grateful for this ‘taste’?
How sickening is that!

Worst aspect of the ceremony was seeing the soldiers having to wear masks. How pathetic!
Maybe no women were physically landed upon the beaches of Normandy as part of the allied invasion on the 6th June 1944, but they were however indirectly involved in the success of the invasion as many women were members of ‘F’ Section (France) of the Special Operations Executive, which worked behind behind enemy lines carrying out targeted sabotage and training the Maquis and members of the Resistance in the use of firearms and explosives supplied by the SOE and dropped by 138 and 161 Special Duties Squadrons of the RAF. The work of brave women like Violette Szabo (George Cross), Denise Rowden and Noor Inayat Khan, should not be forgotten.

And we had a strong prime minister at the helm who coordinated everything and ensured that everyone worked as a team for the common good. The total opposite applies now with a weak and indecisive prime minister who puts the interests of foreigners and foreign organisations like the EU before the citizens of his own country. The most interesting ( To me , but I wasjust 11 at the time ) was that the Germans on oneside were no different from the English etc on the other. EXCEPT FOR THEIR POLITICAL SYSTEMS.

T.G.S. I’m sure that was the case in both World Wars for the ‘common soldiers’ and ‘common people’. Britain’s political system used to be better in many ways but even ours has now been corrupted it seems.
Call Me Matt is an interesting case. When interviewed before the 2017 election he stated on BBC Radio Suffolk that he was a convinced Brexiteer. The picture of him with a Better Off In poster during the Brexit campaign is still on line. Then there’s his assertion that he never said that patients being moved from hospitals to care homes had been screened when they hadn’t. Maybe the first lie can be excused, politicians lie as easily as breathing, but the latter lie — there’s a video clip — makes him directly culpable for the deaths of thousands.
So how does he survive?

Julian…Matt Hancock is most definitely a ‘case’ but not an interesting one. He is a buffoon like his master (Boris Johnson) and buffoons protect and look after each other, like Freemasons do. When all is said and done and this pandemic is history so will Matt Hancock become history. I am convinced that he and Johnson will be held accountable for their actions in the full course of time, and perhaps through the criminal justice system. He will disappear onto the back benches before long and into obscurity where he deservedly belongs. Both of them will be vote losers..
Matt Hancock may disappear to the backbenches but that may be in order to focus on secondary income streams. He will have been busily networking over the last year and will not be found wanting in taking full advantage of that. Alternatively he may leave politics if offered a big NGO job. Political careers in the Tory party are about getting rich and rather less about public service
Well Done Julian Flood. PROOF Hancock is a liar. There should be something you can do with that, to get him fired. He really is a danger to us all anywhere near TPTB to my mind.

The women mentioned on the memorial were two nurses who died when a hospital ship off the beach was sunk. they saved around 60 men then were drowned as the went to save more.
Thanks, John – but this just underlines the argument: these nurses weren’t fighting soldiers. Are WWI nurses named on the famous WWI monuments, e.g. those who died in their forward stations through German artillery? I’d genuinely like to know!
What upsets me is the blatant ‘men and women’ remark in the Times article. Women did not participate in combat at that time.

I am assuming nurse Paterson was female as all the other names are clearly male their full names are given. Also given are their addresses. It seems to me that the difference in recording the names and addresses differently signifies that the remembrance of Nurse Paterson was grudging.
Wokism and fabrication of history is bad today but let’s see what happens at the WEF on 11-13 June when Boris toadies up to his globalist chums. If only one could be a fly-on-the-wall…

My anger about the jabs is now mainly about vaccinating children, here in the U.K. If it’s going to be done at school it will go ahead with very little consultation with parents.
There was probably some justification for the routine vaccinations against polio, TB etc that I remember from childhood but there is NO justification for a flu virus that does not harm children.
Winter flu jabs are only offered to the elderly or otherwise vulnerable. Whats different about this one?
There are so many things that are different and strange about this Covid Saga, Pauline.
The UK Office of National Statistics has introduced a 60 day rule for Covid, whereby those who die within sixty days of a positive Covid test result are included in mortality statistics as dying “with” Covid. And the ONS itself says that although influenza & pneumonia have been mentioned more often on death certificates than Covid, Covid was the “underlying cause” of death three times more often than they were !!
These measures to boost the Covid death toll have clearly necessary from the start. Because when 700 passengers on the quarantined cruise liner Diamond Empress fell ill with Covid-19 in February last year, the total death toll was merely seven. Covid’s claim to be the Virus of Terror is deeply unimpressive.
Even so the entire world population is to be vaccinated, including children, although here the average age for Covid deaths is 83 years old. And the Human Medicines Regulations in the UK were altered in October last year so that producers of Covid vaccines can’t be sued…..It is all very strange, very strange.
