It is customary to write a year-end review on the last day of a year, but the 2020 New Year’s Eve is different. A year that started well, with a Tory majority in the HoC – ‘stonking’ was the expression used – succumbed to the Wu Flu, to ‘the Coof’, to covid. Yes, the year ended well, with the signing of the EU (Future Relationship) Bill yesterday, but what happened in between is hardly worth looking back on.

The whole Western world tumbled into lockdowns, into a ‘race’ to produce better or ‘worse’ covid numbers to justify the unprecedented measures adopted by governments from the USA to Australia, across the EU and indeed here at home. On this day, there’s only one winner, only one country whose economy has come out strong – and that is China. 

One feature worth looking back on though is the way the MSM have driven government decisions. Their ‘Project Covid Fear and Hysteria’ has apparently turned this nation into a collection of quivering mice who rush back to the safety of their holes as soon as they perceive a covid-shadow swooping across their field of vision. This unreasonable fear drove government, from the PM down, Whitehall mandarins included, and re-infected the MSM. All have been so scared that none have dared to ask questions of the entity that took over government: SAGE.

It was all about ‘following the science’, a ‘science’ promoted by behaviorists and sociologists, by mathematical modellers, one of whom stated publicly and proudly at the beginning of this week that he didn’t know anything about biology, that he’d not even had an O-Level in biology. Yes, that was that unspeakable Ferguson. 

Yesterday was a perfect example of how covid and all that pertains to it has become government’s and the MSM’s main issue of 2020, sweeping all before it. We did have that final vote in Parliament, on the EU Bill, the Bill which would put an end to Brexit:

“The legislation was overwhelmingly approved in the Commons by 521 to 73, with no Conservative MP voting against it. The House of Lords also passed the bill and it was announced at about 12.30 this morning that it had received royal assent.” (link, paywalled)

One would have thought that such momentous decision would dominate the headlines in our MSM this morning. Far from it! Only the DM allocated it the top place in their print edition, with a photo of BJ duly signing the thing. The rest gave this top space to covid, to ‘moar tier 4’, with some national boasting because the regulators had given permission for the Oxford vaccine to be rolled out. So “we” must be proud, very proud, yes? Not so fast!

Firstly, there’s the ‘moar tier 4’ decision which now puts three quarters of the country in LBAN – ‘lockdown by another name’. Yet again we saw that this announcement was well orchestrated – not even the Brexit Bill was allowed to get in the way. In the afternoon screaming articles were put online that ‘Essex has declared an emergency’ and asked government to get the army to build hospitals (!) and help with vaccination:

“Health officials in Essex have requested military assistance amid concern that local hospitals will buckle under pressure caused by the surge in new Covid patients. A “major incident” has been declared in the area, which has the country’s highest virus rates, with warnings that the NHS is at risk of being overwhelmed.” (paywalled link)

The comments were scathing, many pointing out that the NHS has dismantled Nightingale hospitals, so what good would building one do now? The ‘staff shortage’ which the NHS has used as reason for this dismantlement surely hasn’t gone away?

There’s a reason that this outcry about ‘Our Sacred Cow’ being overwhelmed got such prominence, even as our peacocks ‘debated’ that EU Bill. It’s been choreographed to provide SAGE and BJ with a ‘reason’ for more tiers, lockdowns, restrictions. Since September they’ve come out with scare numbers and graphs, just in time to justify the implementation of more draconian measures. 

None of the covid MSM question the strange coincidence that ‘case numbers’ rise with rising T&T numbers. None question the evident neglect of the NHS to prepare for the annual ‘winter crisis’ which has graced the headlines at year’s end since the beginning of this new millennium. One has to go and read e.g. Lockdown Sceptics, one has to watch the videos of various excellent critics, one has to listen to podcasts where these points are being made again and again. 

In this brave new covid world different opinions, hard looks at the official government manipulation of numbers, death rates, ‘cases’,  simply don’t occur. This brave new covid government and their MSM now have another new shiny bauble to play with: vaccination. In this brave new covid nation the covid ‘players’ don’t even notice that they are following the same script that gave us T&T, from clamouring for it and then bashing government for ‘not delivering’, never mind asking about the efficiency of PCR, about all those +ve results. It helped SAGE to keep us locked down – that’s all that mattered. 

Now “we” have again a ‘game changer’: the Oxford vaccine, halleluja! “We” need to vaccinate 2 million people per week – just as “we” needed to have 100,000 tests per week. Private enterprise, offered in good faith in Spring this year, is again being called for because it’s another ‘race’. Are you out of breath yet again? Must be covid … Here’s the latest inanity – savour it fully:

“Tesco has offered to help ministers roll out coronavirus vaccines as the private sector throws its weight behind the biggest immunisation programme in British history. The supermarket’s subsidiary Best Food Logistics is understood to have offered up its network of refrigerated lorries and warehouses as part of a race to give the newly authorised Oxford University/AstraZeneca vaccine to millions of people by April. Hotels and conference centres have also offered to open up their venues to be used as sites for mass vaccinations to be carried out, while the pharmacy sector has urged the Government to make use of its high street network to deliver jabs.” (paywalled link)

It’s nothing more than a PR-exercise: who is going to give those jabs? GPs, mostly shining by their unwillingness to actually see their patients, are ‘concerned’:

“GPs warned on Wednesday that a “larger workforce” was needed for the vaccine roll-out as it emerged that the proposed volunteer army to deliver the Oxford Covid-19 jab has not materialised.” (paywalled link)

Of course they’re not – they’re probably self-isolating. As for volunteers not ‘materialising’ – perhaps the experience of volunteers coming forward in their tens of thousands in Spring, only to be disregarded, might explain this? Perhaps the experience of the retired doctors and nurses, called for by ‘Our Sacred Cow’ only to be then disregarded and rejected because they didn’t satisfy the NHS bureaucracy may be a reason? 

Let’s not even ask if “we” want to be jabbed by freshly-trained ‘volunteers’ when we don’t even know if these vaccines give us immunity. They don’t, as the SAGEs know full well. That’s why we’re told by one of them, Professor Van-Tam, that:

“[…] people should not think that “after the second dose of your vaccine it’s OK to behave with wild abandon and go off to the bingo halls and whatever you like”. This is because while trials had shown that vaccination stopped people becoming ill, it was not clear whether it stopped them passing on the virus.”  (link, paywalled)

Bingo halls? Are there even any left? It’s another example for the contempt in which the SAGEs hold us plebs who live outside their charmed Westminster circle! Note though that SAGE will see to it that “we” remain bowed under their lockdown rules even as BJ ‘promised’ us ‘freedom at Easter, with no social distancing’ (link, paywalled). My money is on SAGE winning that ‘race’!

On this last day of 2020, the ‘covid year’, I am sorry to have to say that, actually, “we” aren’t there yet. Our nation will go on being dismantled and destroyed because of covid. The outlook is grim, but I am confident that “we” have learned the covid lessons – only they’re not those which government and SAGE wanted us to learn. Defiance is growing across the country. More people are becoming sceptics, more news are being spread via non-MSM blogs, video and podcasts. We are learning alright and we won’t be cowed.
