“Us”, the peasants: ready to be sacrificed by and for “Them”

What is it about our ‘Great, Green and virtue-signalling Good’ that makes them believe “we” need a daily dose of what has been labelled ‘Fear Porn’? After the daily ‘covid fear’ and the ‘climate whateva fear’ there’s now the ‘Afghan & Taliban fear’. I note in passing that this morning the editorial chiefs couldn’t decide which of those fear items was to be the most prominent. The one item which really ought to concern us – the economy – is only coyly mentioned in relation to poor Rishi’s dilemma relating to the state pension triple-lock because it’ll cost the Treasury more money.

It’s my contention that all this ‘fear porn’ has been and is being used to deepen the rift between “Them” and “Us”. The Westminster Village dwellers populating Whitehall, the MSM and indeed Parliament don’t even notice how they blithely provide incident after incident to demonstrate that “They” are more worthy than “Us”.

These items are all connected even though at first glance they don’t seem to have anything to do with each other. There’s the Afghanistan emergency debate in Parliament this morning. The HoC will start their sitting at 9.30am, the HoL at 11am. There’s also the Afghan refugee ‘crisis’ which allows me to swerve elegantly into ‘data collecting’ and ‘covid’.

During these holiday weeks we’ve read about the PCR tests travellers to foreign beaches have to provide to T&T. There were indignant reports about travellers scrambling to the airports whenever our covid government switched a country from ‘green’ to ‘amber’ or ‘red’. That meant more tests and more and longer quarantine – all to be paid for by the travellers. Now we learn that private PCR Test firms have been unable to hand over the 150,000 test result which our NHS Apps T & T enforcers need so urgently:

“Travellers are spending more than £11 million on these PCR tests, at a cost of £75 each on average. The tests have been designed to enable the Government to detect the import of variants that could threaten the vaccination programme. But more than 40 per cent of the results from the 350,000 PCR tests a week on amber list travellers are being recorded as “unregistered” because the travel test firms have failed to pass on holidaymakers’ personal data to the Government.” (paywalled link)

Dearie me! The covid government can’t get the private data it needs to ‘protect’ us from new variants! At the same time they’re going to allow thousands, nay hundreds of thousands of Afghan refugees into our country with no passports or any documents, and of course they won’t have had covid tests. Afghanistan is on the government’s covid red list … but let’s not quibble about that!

Next – the MPs.  Many of them are on holidays like the unfortunate Dominic Raab who’s been blamed for not predicting the unravelling of the Afghan Army and government. In an aside we’re informed that

“MPs are not required to attend the debate, but those who want to must do so in person as the regulations allowing for participation via video have lapsed.” (link, paywalled)

So – no Zoom HoC then! Will the dear peacocks still have to observe the social distancing rules? Not that it matters because the uselessness of our representatives is here for all to see: this ‘emergency debate is such an emergency that MPs don’t really have to attend! It’s an exercise in government theatrics, a production created to satisfy the MSM and us peasants, to show that they take very seriously ‘the concerns of the people as declared in the MSM Newsrooms’.

And then we read that “They”, the MPs and their spouses and kids, are permitted to ‘reclaim’ the costs for those PCR tests which “Us” have to pay for ourselves:

“Under rules set by the Commons’ spending watchdog, MPs can be reimbursed for the cost of returning to parliament for an emergency sitting during recess. In an email circulated on Monday the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (Ipsa) said that this included the cost of modifying or rebooking PCR tests needed to make it to the UK in time for the debate.” (link, paywalled)

I’m sure we plebs are only too happy to shell out more money to keep the MPs, a segment of the ‘Great, Green and Good’, from having to go begging in the streets because they can’t afford those extra PCR tests! Not that they’d ever question the need for these tests.

Will they decide to let all those Afghan refugees into our country without having tested them for covid? After all, it’s surely rude to ask if they might not possibly harbour some as yet unknown but ‘deadly’ variant, never mind asking them to show a vaccine passport. I wonder how our covid tsars will deal with this problem. Will there be one rule for “Them”, the refugees, and one for “Us”, the plebs who’ll pay for those extra tests, for the extra jabs? Will “They” be given smartphone to run “Our NHS Covid App” on?

There’s another strange point to this Afghan debate. In true ‘fear porn’ manner we’ve been treated to images of fleeing Afghans – mostly young men, as per usual. The spectre of millions of them – three million, according to the latest ‘for’ reports –  wanting to come here has also been raised. “We” are apparently willing and able to take in 20,000. That’s for the time being, of course, because millions are already sitting in Iran and Turkey.

However, “we” shouldn’t be afraid of them, that would be inhumane. No – as the first Afghans have landed here (link), “we” must be afraid that the Taliban might kick the remaining Brits out before all have been gathered in (link). Perhaps some might even decide to stay, given that Taliban leaders have told the world that they’ll not prosecute women (link).

Our returning peacocks can do nothing about any of that. They will however publicly signal their virtue by demanding that even more Afghan refugees need to be taken in, garnished with finger-pointing and apportioning blame. “They” won’t address the jaw-dropping revelation in the wake of the Plymouth mass shooting: civilian employees but not the police were checking the circumstances of those applying for gun licences  (link, paywalled). They’re of course going to overlook the threat of islamic terrorists abusing this generous offer from our government to take everybody in, no documents required.

Here’s another, proper ‘fear item’. The US security entities, now declaring they had warned Biden, are now claiming to know that the Taliban has already permitted Al Qaeda to return to Afghanistan (link). How did they find that out? Through ‘social media’? After all, the Taliban have twitter accounts … (link).

It’s strange though, isn’t it, that the real danger of terrorist attacks hasn’t found its way onto the list of ‘fear porn’ items our MSM are bombarding us with. Well, “They” are protected, “we” will have to make do with ‘anti-terrorism bollards’ and with providing our data to anyone ‘from the government’ who demands them. “We” will have to show covid passports if we want to live a normal life, “we” are expected to submit to this government controlling us at every step. Meanwhile the Afghan refugees and indeed all the rest of the illegal invaders can run free because nobody knows who they are.

The rift between “Them” and “Us” is growing, with a new rift opening between “Us” and a new “Them”, the refugees and illegal immigrants. “We” are meant not to talk about that because that would be racist and inhumane. However, it’ll be “Us” who’ll pay for all that, not either of those “Thems”. That’s why the issue of the triple lock for state pensions has made it into the papers today: “we”, that is our elderly, surely can be expected to sacrifice, especially since “They” have protected them with jabs, now to be triple jabs.

Meanwhile, “we” better stay afraid, very afraid – of all the ‘fear porn’ items which the MSM provide thanks to government propaganda. On no account must “we” become so afraid of the machinations of “Them”, enjoying their self-appointed role as overlords, that we actually go and do something about that.

KBO!
