What beautiful shiny baubles!

So what are they hiding today, the ‘governing classes’, the Westminster cabal? After all, they’ve produced a whole array of shiny baubles to dazzle us with. There’s the speculation about Freedom Day – yes or no. There’s the G7 summit, BJ’s vanity project where he wants to display his green credentials for all to see, even unto declaring this summit will leave a ‘lasting legacy’ for Cornwall, turning it into the first ‘net zero area’ of the UK (paywalled link). I bet that’ll impress the G7 leaders no end! However, perhaps the Brussels ‘mighty’ who are attending might scratch at that BJ image, thanks to the ongoing NI kerfuffle. Ms vdLeyen and the EU President M Michel will both attend and ‘might gang up’ on poor old BJ.

Then there are yet further examples of wokeism poisoning minds. There are more cricketers now deleting old tweets because what read like unfunny fun six or ten years ago is now ‘important’ enough to end their careers. And there’s that Oxford college (Magdalen, since you ask) where the student body has decided to remove a coloured photo of the Queen, taken in 1952 before her coronation – because it ‘represented an unwelcoming symbol of recent colonial history’. I dunno why students still want to go to Oxford, what with all those horrible connections the many colleges have with whatever is the latest bugbear of the offended wokeists.

Perhaps all our professional sports elites should publicly repent: someone will surely find their tweets, going back to the beginning of Twitter, showing they’re unfit to play. Then there are the Footie players who were so rudely booed by fans for taking the knee before their match. Their coach has hinted that they’d do so again. Well, if he and the players think this’ll make them look good and teach their opponents at the coming Footie European Cup how to be good wokeists – good luck!

Perhaps BJ can make taking the knee mandatory for all British sportspeople before they start whichever competition they enter, for example at Wimbledon. That’ll show the world that we truly repent of slavery and colonialism and racism, no? Never mind that kneeling is a sign of submission – “we” have shown the world that we’re now wonderfully submissive anyway, what with everybody having muzzled up uncomplainingly.

All those lockdown sceptics who have complained and written about the uselessness of those face cloths better purge all their social media accounts and utterances before the covid stasi cracks down on them. If ten-year-old tweets can break someone’s professional neck, figuratively speaking, then critical covid tweets will do so with knobs on – this is about the ‘health of the nation’! One can’t make jokes about that!

Talking of covid and lockdowns: well, the great covid emperor Hancock seems to have left the stage to others, to get their fingers burned. There’s Gove who said he’d bet money on lockdown being lifted on June 21st, as has Hunt. There are the usual unnamed ‘ministers in Whitehall’ who drip their covid-fear poison into the eager ears of the covid-scared MSM. And then there’s the certain signal that restrictions won’t be lifted:

“Last night it was reported that Rishi Sunak was open to a delay of up to a month to ensure that the lifting of lockdown was “irreversible”. The chancellor had been perceived as eager to drop restrictions to help boost the economy but he is more concerned that the changes are permanent and is prepared to push back the June 21 date as a compromise” (link, paywalled)

If Rishi is prepared to support ‘longer lockdown’, surreptitiously preparing to shell out more of our money should Lockdown continue, then we can be certain it will. The reason for all this ‘precautionary’ dithering of the covid emperors is that they need to nudge more under-30s to get their jab in case they ‘crash the NHS’ should they catch that Indian variant (link, paywalled). But what about this delicious piece of covid news:

“Migrants crossing the Channel in small boats have coronavirus rates 20 times higher than those of the UK population, according to Border Force officers. Lucy Moreton, of the Immigration Services Union, which represents frontline border staff, said her members were reporting between five and ten migrants a day testing positive. Even on busier days for Channel crossings that would mean about 3 per cent of arrivals testing positive; the rate in the UK population is 0.16 per cent” (link, paywalled)

No wonder Macron is unconcerned about ‘striking a deal’ with Ms Patel to curb this surge of covid-infested illegals crossing the Channel! He’s more concerned with utilising the NI “sausage war” between Frosty and Sefcovic by trying to create a junction between that and EU Fisheries, ahem: French fishermen being given more access to rob our fish and shellfish:

“In a move that threatens to reopen another schism between the two sides, Brussels will demand better access for French fishermen to UK waters in the wake of a row with Jersey over restrictions on new fishing licences.” (paywalled link)

Clearly, this is the way to ‘negotiate: selling out our fishing rights in exchange for permitting Brussels to decide that chilled meat products, which have been transported to NI from the UK Mainland for decades, are after all perhaps not aimed at poisoning proper EU citizens and can be ‘allowed’ to enter NI! In a nice little swipe at Frost some Remain mandarins told RemainCentral:

“Senior government figures said Frost, who was Britain’s chief Brexit negotiator, was aware of the barriers the Northern Ireland protocol would impose when he agreed the deal in 2019. Whitehall officials involved in discussions at the time said he had had “plenty of material in front of him” that showed a reduction in trade between Britain and Northern Ireland as a result of the new arrangements.” (link, paywalled)

Interesting, isn’t it, how ‘a reduction in trade’ becomes an underhand justification for Brussels to stop imports of medicines or chilled meat from the UK mainland to NI. Also, 2019 isn’t that far back for those of us with a memory slightly better than than of goldfish.  I recall that BJ replaced Ms May at the end of July 2019. He was only able to set up his cabinet after that. And we surely remember the whole despicable display of the Remain Parliament and the unspeakable Speaker to stop Brexit, the battle of prorogation, the interference of the Supreme Court, and the ensuing General Election in December.

Clearly though the unreconstructed, hardcore Remainers believe that Frost even so should have known everything, never mind that we can well imagine how Remain mandarins put spokes into every wheel. But it’s good to have someone to blame because Brussels and the EU are blameless, as usual.

I leave you with recommending an excellent article in LockdownSceptics on the covid ‘lab leak hypothesis’ (link). However, I’ve been puzzled ever since the first of those articles appeared in the US MSM, even unto being picked up by such previous covid fanatics like the Washington Post. Why are they doing this now, I wondered. Why are we seeing this sudden U-Turn where mentioning this hypothesis used to be anathema? Cynical and suspicious person that I am I started smelling something rather fishy – no, not French fish caught illegally in our waters!

I  humbly submit my interpretation: the international MSM and the various covid tsars are doing this because they are playing their usual game of ‘look at those beautiful shiny baubles!’ There’s something they are diligently not writing about, something which is being kept out of the international MSM: the question of adverse reactions to the various vaccines. There are now a sufficiently large number of people vaccinated who have shown such adverse reactions – but one needs to wade through videos and podcasts banned from the common-herd social media to find out.

Will we see this silent, slow scandal emerge on the MSM front pages any time soon? I’m not holding my breath.

KBO!
