‘Tis the time for (ungendered) carol singers …

Christmas is only two more days away. It’s ‘Party Season’, we’re told. The nudge unit and the ministry of propaganda have been busy. Today’s ‘news’ therefore are that the SNP’s ‘Gender Bill’ might not receive Royal Consent and that it’s time again to ‘protect the Sacred Cow’ by staying away from granny if one has the flu. Or the sniffles. You can find the newspaper compilation in the usual place (link).

Firstly, a quick look at the latest health fear porn. The headlines make already clear that this ‘nudge’ is not driven by care for granny and gramps. Here’s The Times’ headline which says it all (my emphasis):

Avoid elderly at Christmas if you have a cough or flu, Britons told – Families warned to keep apart as hospital admissions for virus hit five-year high” (link, paywalled)

Am I the only one who thinks the phrase ‘avoid the elderly’ is a bit, ahem, unfortunate? I’ll not even mention that we’re again treated like stupid thickos who need to be told not to spread the flu because, irresponsible lt that we are, we’d happily infect all and everybody round us just because we want to ‘party’.

The DM’s editors have understood that most of the newspaper-reading population or what’s left of it only scan the headlines on their smartphones. Thus their headlines are a welcome summary, so see this (my emphasis):

“Don’t give granny flu at Christmas: Festive revellers are urged not to mix with vulnerable relatives if they are ill to avoid overloading struggling NHS – Britons urged not to mix with loved ones if they feel unwell over Christmas – The NHS is braced for its ‘darkest’ ever festive period and could be overwhelmed” (link)

See – the Bible is right: there’s nothing new under the sun! We’ve heard those pleas about an ‘overwhelmed NHS’ before: when is the Sacred Cow not overwhelmed? We also remember the ‘nudges’ about not giving granny whatever is happening to make the rounds. I do love the following paragraphs:

“The health service is braced for its ‘darkest’ ever festive period as it battles a flu surge, a bed-blocking crisis and the aftermath of strikes. Bosses warn the service is going into the weekend with an unsafe number of patients on wards, skeleton staffing levels and is ‘dangerously close to overheating completely’.” (link)

There couldn’t be a better argument for the demand to scrap the Non-Health Service which is always ‘overwhelmed’ nowadays, as if there never were any flu epidemics ever before. Do not however ask if the covid lockdowns might have something to do with this or wonder if said lockdowns have given the NHS a wonderful excuse for demanding we don’t bother them.

As for those ‘bosses’: who are they? The Hospital Trust CEOs on fat salaries? The NHS ‘directors’? Perhaps the PM needs to have a PR session, on telly, with the SAGEs, to tell us that ‘saving the NHS’ has to be the priority of the country. After all, it worked during the covid years, didn’t it! This all just makes me sick with outrage.

Now let’s look at this SNP-Gender Law thingie. As usual, the DM gives a fair summary in their headline:

“UK ministers set to resort to never-before-used legal powers to HALT SNP’s gender law, putting Westminster and Holyrood on constitutional collision course as Sturgeon vows to push through allowing 16-year-olds to transition without parental consent  –  MSPs passed the Gender Recognition Reform Bill by 86 votes to 39 yesterday  –  Cries of ‘shame on you’ and applause saw the parliament briefly suspended  –  The Bill makes it easier to obtain a gender recognition certificate (GRC) from 16  –  Ministers said they could block it, in what would be an unprecedented move  –  Officials suggested the ‘nuclear option’ of stopping the bill reaching royal assent” (link)

Well, why the outrage now? Haven’t schools up and down the country – England, Wales, Scotland: no difference – been teaching our kids and grandchildren that trans-sex is fine, that it’s acceptable and not to be condemned? Haven’t female academics and celebrities been condemned and ‘cancelled’ for daring to point out that male and female are different, that even trans-operations, mutilating bodies, won’t change this?

The DT has this wail from what presumably are mandarins who have had sufficient time beforehand to reflect on the consequences of the holy ‘all Alphabet Groups are good’ mantra:

“Senior Whitehall figures fear the laws, which make it significantly easier for someone to officially change their legal gender than in the rest of the UK, will put single-sex spaces such as prisons and changing rooms in jeopardy across the country. They have warned that it could lead to “trans tourism” – whereby a transgender woman could travel to Scotland to have their gender legally changed, then use their new official status to access female-only spaces south of the border.” (paywalled link)

Too late, dears – this has been promoted for some years now, not least in the Westminster MSM and in adverts from big consumer palaces. Sturgeon is only taking the next step. Tough. Live with it.

Let’s finish with an ‘awww – sweet’ article I’ve kept on file. After all, for the sake of protecting the Sacred Cow we better calm down our outrage and anger and lower our blood pressure because we don’t want to end up in the clutches of yon ‘service’. This story is about a bear:

“After a string of offences that included stealing rucksacks from hikers and food from picnic tables, a female black bear was sentenced to deportation from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to another nature reserve in eastern Tennessee. She did not take this lying down. Instead, she set off on a journey of a thousand miles, walking into Georgia and through a shopping mall on the outskirts of Atlanta, before turning north through the Carolinas and then west again, across Tennessee. Then, like Odysseus returning to Penelope, she returned to the picnic tables of the campsite where she had been captured six months earlier.” (link, paywalled)

That’s one outstanding bear! No – it’s not a transgender bear who, being female,  ‘transitioned’ into becoming male, like Odysseus! It’s simply that the writer of this article tried to dazzle us with his erudition and ‘education’ by mentioning this gentleman from ancient Greece. At least, I hope so – nowadays we can’t know if we’re being surreptitiously ‘educated’ to accept that alphabet groups exist everywhere.

I hope the MSM ‘journalists ’penning their stories for the Christmas editions remember that angels are supposed to be sex-less and thus have no gender(s). As for the rest of the news: why not go back to bed, it might be the only place where we can be safe …
