‘Our fearless leader …’
Oh really, I said to myself when I saw this morning’s headlines in the MSM, announcing that, according to Johnson ‘there’s still a window for peace’ (paywalled link). Right at the last minute! Now isn’t that amazing!
Given that stories about ‘imminent war’ have dominated our MSM, given that the print media have published handy maps detailing of how Putin will invade (e.g. here), I detect the first faint whiffs of rowing back by Biden and Johnson:
“Boris Johnson and President Biden have said that there remains a “crucial window” to avoid a Russian invasion of Ukraine as Moscow hints that it is still open to a diplomatic solution to the crisis. In a marked change of tone the two western leaders agreed there was an opportunity to avert conflict as international efforts to ease tensions increased.” (link, paywalled)
Well, that’s good, innit, and all hail Messrs B and J! However, we’d like to know why these talks haven’t been going on ever since all those troops were being stationed at the Russian borders. Wasn’t it two months ago that the Ukrainian President warned of an ‘imminent coup’ by Putin? Never mind, we’re now given a quote from Mr Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Secretary who said:
“It seems to me that our possibilities [of diplomacy] are far from being exhausted,” Sergey Lavrov said. “[Talks] certainly should not continue indefinitely, but at this stage I would suggest that they continue and be intensified.” (link, paywalled)
And lo and behold, there’s also a quote from the Russian Defence Secretary General Shoygu who said that “some military drills, which have fanned fears of invasion, had ended or were coming to a close.” (link, paywalled). The strange thing is that suddenly, such statements are ‘a good sign’, even though previously their statements weren’t heard because they’re ‘Putin critters’ and everybody, according to our MSM, knows we cannot believe a word they say.
Now though “we” listen and believe – how interesting! It’s also very interesting indeed to find the first hints of how this brinkmanship, this ‘last-effort diplomacy’, will be sold to us ignorant plebs:
“One senior British government source said there had been a “small but apparent change in Russia’s rhetoric” that had increased hope that it might be looking for a way to end the crisis.” (link, paywalled)
Yay! See – Putin only reacts to ‘strength’! Messrs B and J’s dire warnings of horrible sanctions such as closing the Western banking system to Putin are bearing fruit. There’s also the threat that the Nordstream2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany will be shut down ‘in case of war’, denying Putin income for his gas.
Since there’s still no gas flowing through yon pipeline because Biden wants it stopped and the EU has therefore not given the necessary agreement, one might well ask if this pipeline wasn’t the actual reason for all this warmongering, especially when we read:
“[Biden and Johnson] also reiterated the need for European countries to reduce their dependence on Russian gas, a move which, more than any other, would strike at the heart of Russia’s strategic interests.’ It comes after Mr Johnson had earlier compared European states to ‘addicts’ and called on them to end their reliance on Russian gas imports.” (link)
It’s of course far better to rely on US liquid gas tankers crossing the Atlantic to supply e.g. Germany which has closed down all but three of the nuclear power stations as well as most of their coal power stations: let them freeze in winter! Never mind that the lack of energy will cripple what remains of German industries! China can produce everything, can’t it …!
There’s one other Johnson quote which really makes me question his sanity because it sounds as if not just covid but also green blobbery has done severe damage to his mental capacities. He said:
“’What I think all European countries need to do now is get Nord Stream out of the bloodstream,’ he said on a visit to Scotland. ‘Yank out that hypodermic drip feed of Russian hydrocarbons that is keeping so many European economies going. We need to find alternative sources of energy … and get ready to impose some very, very severe economic consequences on Russia.’ (link)
Ah – ‘alternative sources of energy’ – like wind farms and solar farms, is it? Just to put that Johnson exhortation about alternative energy into perspective, read this report in Tallbloke’s workshop. Apparently the green blob, Johnson at the front, seem to think that we can easily import our food rather than produce it if we have enough solar energy ‘farms’ … and never mind the CO2 footprint this would entail.
Note also that this quote, in typical Johnson hyperbole, contains the hint that, war or not, this is about imposing ‘economic consequences’ on Putin anyway. The approachement of Putin and Xi doesn’t seem to matter to all those strategic, green-infested geniuses
There’s one other news item which ought to have been given pride of place instead of being shunted to the outer regions of the online papers. Trudeau has announced that he’ll invoke emergency powers to crack down on the truckers’ protest:
“Under the legislation the police will be able to curb public assemblies and blockades. Police will have the power to tow away trucks participating in the “freedom convoy”. Other measures are aimed at cutting off the funding to the rebel truckers including freezing their bank accounts and voiding their insurance. Crowdfunding sites, who have funnelled millions of dollars to the truckers will have to report large transfers of money to Canada’s financial watchdog Fintrac.” (paywalled link)
Trudeau claims that he wouldn’t use the Army or ‘suspend fundamental rights including freedom of speech or peaceful assembly’ it’s obvious that he wouldn’t need to when he can threaten the livelihoods of those truckers should this Act go through parliament. However, the PMs of some Canadian provinces oppose Trudeau’s plan:
“The premiers of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Quebec have opposed its use and experts questioned whether the threshold [of serious danger to the lives of Canadians] had been met.” (link, paywalled)
Trudeau has been labelling those truckers as ‘far right’, ‘influenced by right wing extremist groups’ from the USA. What a coincidence: Ms Ardern is now similarly claiming that the NZ Freedom protest has been ‘imported’, saying on TV that she’s never seen anything like it in NZ: “I’ve seen Trump flags on the forecourt, I’ve seen Canadian flags on the forecourt,” she said.” (paywalled link). Have Ardern, Trudeau and in fact the leaders of France and Germany all received a new hymn sheet?
They are all demonising the protestors in their countries as ‘right wing extremists’. That means they don’t have to address the cause of all these protests: their disastrous covid measures which have robbed their citizens of their civil liberties. It’s quite astonishing, isn’t it, how many ‘right wing etc’ there suddenly are, all across the western world. I do wonder where they suddenly all came from …
We’re watching a performance of Western leaders who’re doing everything they can to distract us from addressing their failed covid policies which have led to the ruination of lives and livelihoods of so many of us. As the Johnsons of this world posture on the international stage they forget that we’ve now seen the torture instruments they have available to enforce our compliance with anything they propose.
Are there any differences between them and the ‘bad guys’ Putin and Xi? Do tell us if you can see any …

Very short video of questions put to the AFP chief Reece Kershaw in Au Parliament. I have seen testimony that they have also used these weapons in NZ.
https://cairnsnews.org/2022/02/15/displeased-afp-chief-reece-kershaw-tells-senator-roberts-the-afp-will-seek-immunity-over-deployment-of-sonic-blasters-at-rally/
Previous ‘post’ war a ‘reply’.
Viv:- Western leaders who’re doing everything they can to distract us
TG Says the same thing. A continuing blackout, already two ‘black death’ years old.
The narrative.
Party gate?
– what’s that about, John? Oh, ancient history.
Eight percent inflation?
– Print more money, no-one will notice.
Increased tax?
– A trivial one and a half pct for employees. And the same for employers? Trivial mate.
But, civil insurrection is taking off.
– Put the Storm troopers in, err I meant wonderful police agency, to give them all a good beating. Pick up the hurt, nick ’em, prosecute them, preordained prison. Oh, and three paid days off for all the Storm Police as they had each been hurt in the fighting they started, they say. Don’t forget the horses and tear gas brigade.
Green energy is expensive and not working.
– expensive no – we are giving your money to anyone whe can put a few watts into the grid. Of course eco-elec is working. Look around you at those wonderful windmills producing all of our power. And think of the generations to come that will thank us for govmt generosity with your money.
And people are still dying from covid. It has made the cancer lists stretch over the horizon?
– General practice is not seeing anybody (cancer or otherwise). Doing a great job, so they need a pay rise. The hospitals get a bung every time they put covid on the death cert. And cancer – death rate will slim down the numbers. It’ll make tending to them by the No Health Service less of a problem. Must save NHS eh?
And, . . .
– Sorry, got to go to prevent a pretend war. You know, Bush-Bliar and now Bygone-Me Alistair Johnson. Bye.
I enjoy this site. However, since the ‘pop up regime’ it is more or less impossible to post.
Which part of accept and enable – ‘accept’ (a coating of adverts cookies), does the pop up not understand?
Preference – there aren’t any! Accept just puts me back to the top of the page – in a loop.
As to GBNews – if like me, you don’t have a television, you can still watch it live via their web site.
Apologies about the state of the site. As you all know by now: we’ve had to reduce the size of the site and move to a smaller server due to lack of interest. We also do not have a webmaster who’d do things for the site – there’s a lot now wrong which is caused by the ever ongoing automatic ‘updates’.
I can’t put things into proper order. I can’t do more than ask if anyone knows someone who’d do it for all of us, a trustworthy webmaster who can keep an eye on thing, and to contact me.
Viv. Whatever Biscotte’s problem might be, my antiquated old system is working much as before!
As for today’s ‘Betrayal’ – well all this talk of ‘Diplomacy can still sort out the disagreements’ reminded me of diplomacy sorting out disagreement about our Northern Ireland Protocol!
Maybe certifying our Prime Minister as Insane would be the best solution but we are still left with the problem – who would we get instead?
PB- None of my three portable pcs can get on (2003 to 2021). Both my desktop pcs (2015 and 2021) have bo’coo problems. Did try connecting through some of the servers (2021 – 2 core and 4 core). Still no go.
And the answer to the next comment is NOYB. Its partly to do with my current job.
Further, no experience of bulletin boards.
Mine is working fine too Viv.
Pauline………Biscotte’s problems, I would say say too much burnt toast is the root cause. I agree Johnson seems to be on a mission at the moment ramping up the Ukraine-Russia impasse along with his mate Biden, both of whom are utter clowns and not worth listening to. Very few people in this country in my view take Johnson seriously any longer, whilst he bumbles about making policy decisions to try and return his agenda back to the one that he was supposedly voted in to enact in 2019. Apart from his half hearted attempt to get us out of the European Union which has resulted in one part of the country being annexed by the European Commission with different rules, downgrading our armed forces to that of a third world nation, shafting our own fishermen to the benefit of the French fishing fleets, and doing next to nothing about the English Channel migrant crisis, after two years as prime minister he has accomplished very little and a is a massive disappointment and totally blown the goodwill of those like me me who entrusted him with their vote. He could have done so much with his 80 seat majority and really made a success of what Brexit had to offer, but so far has done very little. If this was a school report I would be marking Johnson D- for Effort and E for Attainment, and sending him for Remedial Training, or better still serving him with requirement to resign with immediate effect.
I too have this problem half the time.. What’s the common denominator that differentiates us from other ID readers who don’t?
I’m on Windows 10 and use Duckduck Go search engine. I clear caches regularly and use a good virus blocker (is it too efficient?). The reason must be something like that.
Tax is always the problem. Most wars are fights for the right to tax you.
I don’t much care what Boris Johnson says about anything quite frankly, and I am one who voted for him and his party in December 2019 to get Brexit done. The man is an idiot and has been thoroughly discredited not only by his own behaviour during the pandemic by expecting the general population to adhere to the draconian restrictions placed upon our lives by him, whilst he seemed to think at the same time that he, his family, colleagues and friends were somehow exempt from complying. Not only that HE has allowed Northern Ireland to be treated as a separate entity to the rest of the country with different rules as a result of his fudged up EU Trade Deal, and HE has shafted British fishermen and handed out licences to French fishermen to fish right up to within six miles of our shoreline in order to placate the French because he considers them ‘our friends and partners’. And HE has proven himself to be incredibly weak over the English Channel migrant crisis, and seems to be more interested in helping other countries to defend their borders from foreign incursions than he does with his own country. And if that wasn’t sufficient he has been beefing up and exaggerating the problem on the Russian Ukraine border, to the point of annoying the Russians, a country we cannot afford to get on the wrong side of. Johnson in my humble opinion is a national embarrassment and is simply totally unsuitable to hold the position of prime minister of this country and represent the views of the British on the international stage. He needs to resign and if he wont go of his own accord, then he needs to be pushed out. There must be somebody in the Conservative Party who can make a better fist of being prime minister than the present incumbent, but Michael Gove is most certainly not the answer.
Colin Doris must be serving the interests of the majority of the big party donors or he may have been out by now. Accomodating the interests of the ordinary conservative voters doesn’t really appear to be their main priority by any means.
Indeed Colin; Boris is truly one of our enemies within.
Colin Hussey at 12.39pm. I totally agree. Particularly that Gove is not the answer. But who is?
So we wake up to learn that we have martial law in a G7 country. Barely an acknowledgement of that earth shattering development in the MSM of course. Here’s Tucker Carlson of Fox News discussing Canada’s Bay of Rigs.
His Uncle Klaus at the WEF must have given him his orders.
Mark Steyn reported that Canada’s CBC (which he likened to the BBC with even lamer comedy shows) is saying that the word ‘Freedom’ is a code word for extreme far right white supremacists. Covid is causing mass mental illness in the media, or it could be the huge sums of ‘support money’, from the public purse, that Trudy has paid them; you decide. Either way, you cannot make it up; they are driving Babylon Bee out of business.
Lets hope GB News can continue with its steady progress after its shaky start. Would dearly love it to do radio too. Milliions of people listen to radio on the road . Also we need an alternative to TVs BBC, Sky, ITV ‘breaking news’ monopoly.
Jake……..I agree with your sentiments about GB News. However, they really do need to do something about the utterly ludicrous breaks where they advertise other programme. The same things advertised over and over again to the point of being mind numbingly tedious in the extreme. And why on earth did they take on Eamon whatshisname. Oh, he is so predictable and boring, boring, boring. They need to lengthen Nigel Farage’ programme from one hour to two or three hours. I could listen to him all day, the only politician with any sense….
Colin Unfortunately, they have to get that funding through adverts as they have no rich donors bunging them a tidy sum. We should also remember that most corporations are so woke they will not touch GB News for fear of being called ‘racist’ or ‘right-wing’ etc. They must get more viewers first and then some advertisers will feel able to give them business. That is why I would like them move into the ‘breaking -news’ area and radio. Most people I fear don’t have time or concentration span to listen to debate on TV which is what GB News are currently focussing on.
It isn’t the commercial adverts I am referring to, but the breaks where they advertise other presenters and their programmes. Of course commercial radio station like GB News rely on advertisements for their revenue and one can understand that, but devoting perhaps eight minutes every hour to advertising other programmes is a nonsense. I would much prefer to hear what Farage has to say about current issues than listen to that dullard Eamon ? and Isabelle ? and Dan Wootton rambling on about their programmes.
I am the bearer of good news Jake. GBNews IS on DAB radio now. I tuned my car radio in this weekend
Excellent. Thank you Helena for that information. Will tune in and turn on!
Beware lest GB News becomes the mouthpiece of controlled opposition.
I’m a UK Column fan myself.
I didn’t have a CD to listen to in the car this morning, and instead had the misfortune to turn on the radio which was tuned into LBC. And who was there doing his usual I know best rant using long words and phrases that few use these days. Yes, it was that clown of all clowns James O’Brien. He is dire beyond belief. If ever there was an example of how biased LBC is, that was most definitely it. A massive turn off…….
Until the cabal are removed kicking and screaming this will never end. There is a small window to do this with the right people behind them and I hope to see it happen. Enough is enough.
Day 2 of Reiner Fuellmilch’s Grand Jury. Very interesting. There is nothing new about this putsch by the globalists: they have attempted it before. Vera Sharav who fought the Nazis during the war says she never expected to be fighting the same monsters again 75 years later. And some interesting insights into the involvement of the City of London and even what’s left of the British Empire. and
https://dailyexpose.uk/2022/02/14/matthew-ehret-a-new-world-order/
Plus let us not forget that the UK Government handed the contract for the “Vaccine Passport” aka Digital ID project to ENTRUST, controlled largelyby thevQuandt family with a wartime history of ties with the Nazis.
This is a timely read as a companion to tallbloke’s piece.
Nothing better illustrates the agenda to bring this country to its knees: “The Oil and Gas Authority (OGA) was created to drive fossil fuels out of business.”
But for the nub, just go to the embedded short Twitter clip (Lorraine Allanson) comparing fracking to solar farms.
Solar takes up 40 times the land area to produce 1/20th the energy; not even mentioning that that fracking produces 24hr stable and predictable energy.
https://joannenova.com.au/2022/02/amid-energy-crisis-uk-government-uses-regulatory-death-curse-on-massive-local-gas-industry/
Secondly. Are we sure that the Russia v NATO nonsense is not purely a diversionary tactic to divert the Covid Cringe.Bungle.
TG Spokes……..you’ve hit the nail on the head with this last point……..
Yes it most certainly is T G Spokes.
Apparently The theory and maths are correct and an engineer has managed to prove that fusion exists, but a mistake could remove the USA. in a nanosec..Thus proving that the USA itself can destroy the world , Putin, and solve the shortage of gas in one fell swipe. .
The sun is driven by fusion. Hydrogen into Helium releasing energy in the process. The Joint European Torus in Oxfordshire recently made a step forward in harnessing the energy but practical use is still a long way off.
The successful recent torus fusion test lasted five seconds and produced from memory 11 kilowatts. Its a start.
They reckon the next test will be for ~five minutes, then a ~five hour test. I for one will be on the lookout for Dr Smith and that DeLorian of his.
you must be an optimist Phil.I grant you their records is better than the Russians. but we have more civil servants involved. So, that’ll sloow ’em down a bit.
I wonder if anyone has researched the possibility of harnessing the hot air that comes out of Johnson’s mouth. The verbal garbage that stems from his vocal chords is no use to man not beast, but perhaps his mouth can be linked up to the national grid to provide the hot air to turn a turbine or two. There must be something he is good at, but I am having difficulty in putting my finger on it……
