The game-changer covid vaccine: ‘honi soit qui mal y pense’

Ladies and gentlemen – we have another ‘game changer’! Hip hip and so on, with bells and whistles! Yes, there’s a covid vaccine out by Christmas and we’ll all live happily ever after! Or something like that. However …

While I don’t want to detract from the huge work and scientific ingenuity which has gone into developing that vaccine, there are a few aspects which deserve a closer, critical look. For example, there are two manufacturers first out of the starting blocks. One is Pfizer, the other a little known German firm called Biontech. In inimitable Woke&Diversity fashion The Times tells us breathlessly that the founders of that firm are ‘immigrants’, i.e. a German-Turkish couple (link, paywalled). Why that is relevant when reporting about the development of this vaccine – well, don’t ask me!

Next we’re told in our Covid MSM how this vaccine is working, with lovely graphs. We are told that:

“International trials on 43,500 people found the jab prevented 90 per cent of cases of coronavirus, with no safety concerns raised. […] Britain has already ordered 40 million doses of the vaccine, including 10 million which could be administered before Christmas if regulatory approval is granted.” (paywalled link)

The number of 40 million doses already ordered has been swirling around government pronunciations for some time now, but never mind that, let’s not cavil! And since stock markets are rising on the back of this announcement, it surely would be churlish to look at some medical details, wouldn’t it! I’m doing it anyway, so here’s something to chew over:

“The vaccine is still early the stages [sic!], having only been studied for a matter of months. We do not yet know if it is able to prevent severe cases of Covid-19, how long it will protect against infection or if it prevents people from carrying the virus without symptoms. […] William Gruber, Pfizer’s senior vice president of vaccine clinical research and development, has told Stat News that he believed the side effect profile was comparable to standard adult vaccines, but probably worse than Pfizer’s pneumonia vaccine, Prevnar, or a flu shot.” (paywalled link)

So far so generally acceptable, but in a change of emphasis our covid MSM now tell us that “we” must not be worried about any of that, not even when we read next:

“The results have not been peer-reviewed by outside scientists or published in a medical journal, and even Pfizer and BioNTech have not been given further details about how the vaccine performed by the independent monitors overseeing the study.” (paywalled link)

Odd that ‘peer review’ is suddenly not a criterium! It’s only necessary when it’s about discarding critical reports on covid and covid measures as ‘fake news’. So what about this cautionary remark:

“Scientists have still not seen the full data from the vaccine trials. In particular they said that they wanted to understand its effectiveness in older people, whether it stopped transmission as well as illness, and how much long-term immunity it conferred.” (link, paywalled)

This is somewhat worrying because the elderly will be first in the queue to get the jabs – yes, one needs two jabs, not one. Let’s not worry about what the jabbed people are going to have to do during 28 days – the time before:

“protection is achieved […] after the initiation of the first vaccination. However, they warned that, as the study continues, the final vaccine efficacy percentage may vary. “ (paywalled link)

Let’s rejoice about this white-hot scientific breakthrough, yes? Let’s not ask inconvenient questions right now even though there are some critical voices. Without doubting the vaccine or the scientists who’ve developed it, these points surely need consideration:

“There are reasons to remain cautious. As Professor Stephen Evans, of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, pointed out, the decision to release results while also continuing trial recruitment is unprecedented and could undermine the future of the trial. It may be ethically tricky to carry on giving a placebo to participants while knowing that a vaccine is successful.” (paywalled link

No no no – that’s churlish, pointing this out when we must rejoice! And this is surely only a technological petitesse:

There are also huge logistical challenges, because the vaccine has to be kept and transported in ultra-cold storage at below -109F (-78C).  Most health centres in Britain simply do not have the facilities to do that. So even if it is successful, there are serious concerns about whether it can realistically be distributed.“(paywalled link

I’m sure ‘Our Covid NHS’ can cope – after all, they were so hugely successful installing all those T&T labs … ! In a comment article (paywalled link) in the DT Ross Clark observes that the full trial results are of course not yet available and, given that the trials were done on young, healthy volunteers, as is always the case, we cannot know if this’ll work in the elderly who are going to be jabbed first. That’s also irrelevant when we must celebrate.

And so to the political aspect of this announcement. You didn’t think that this came out just by happenstance, did you? Lockdown Sceptics – who else! – has published these observations by a biotech expert on the strangely political side of this announcement:

“There are 44,000 people in the trial with half in the placebo. They were supposed to read out after just 32 cases in total. It was thought that the trial hadn’t yet read out because they hadn’t yet had enough infections. The trial actually read out after 94 cases, so they delayed it on purpose apparently as a result of “discussions with the FDA”. This smells like they didn’t want to announce it pre-Presidential election in case the ‘good news’ helped the incumbent. Trump must be fuming.” (link

Politics being involved in announcing a scientific breakthrough? Nah – surely not! They wouldn’t, would they! His other observation reinforces the point that this announcement was driven by politics rather than pure science:

“It is important to note that the trial does not measure the vaccine’s ability to stop virus transmission between humans which is the supposed rationale for lockdown. The manufacturers and their cheerleaders will say it’s still a lockdown-buster because its failure to interrupt transmission doesn’t matter if the virus doesn’t develop into the disease. But that depends on whether it works for the vulnerable which we don’t know yet.” (link

Do read the whole thing because he certainly won’t be given space in the Covid MSM, not when this announcement looks like a lifeline for BJ, a justification for lockdowns. Moreover, we can be certain that BJ and his covid government knew this was coming, that they knew the announcement had to be postponed for a few days ‘because: reasons!’  – a few days which allowed them to put a few other covid measures in place.

For example, there’s that sudden quarantining of all of Denmark because of that mink covid mutilation which would interfere with this lovely vaccine. We wrote about that yesterday, remembering that this discovery took place in September.

Then there was Sunak’s sudden announcement about the furlough scheme being extended until Spring. We wondered, did we not – but now it’s clear: lockdown measures must be kept going because we don’t know yet if and how this vaccine will work ‘in the wild’, in our population.

Now we also know why The Times reported yesterday on GCHQ investigating all those cyber cranks from Russia who would spread ‘fake news’ about vaccines and vaccinations. Was this piece of ‘news’ really only available yesterday?

Also, best not worry about or even mention the fact that not much is yet known if the vaccine works in the elderly with comorbidities. Be happy that “Pfizer will continue to collect safety and long-term outcomes data from participants for two years.” (paywalled link) and don’t even dare to think that this looks remarkably like us peasants being used as guinea pigs!

Instead marvel at the wonderful science, the game changer, the prospect of no lockdowns sometime next year, after the Spring and before the next ‘covid season’ starts. Marvel at the unprecedented unity of happy Covid MSM, happy Covid politicians and happy Covid scientists, of the prospect of a return to Christmas – next year, that is, not this year because there won’t be enough vaccines as of yet. And be warned:  criticism is unpatriotic and not helpful, ‘fear’ is no longer permitted:

“And there are fears that, even if a vaccine is available, many people will refuse it because they feel it has been rushed out in just a few months. The Royal Society is so concerned about uptake that it is calling for anti-vaxxers to be prosecuted if they spread misinformation about the dangers.” (paywalled link

Do not ponder if this means that we might expect calls for enforcing vaccination across the board – that would be even more unpatriotic! I wonder though if it’s ‘spreading misinformation’ when raising valid questions about this vaccine.

I wonder moreover if Sir John Redwood would have parliamentary immunity from such prosecution because he raises questions in his Diary this morning, the most important one being this:

“Apparently people need to be vaccinated twice over a 3 week period to gain reasonable immunity. No-one yet knows how long the beneficial effects will last. I have some questions about this. How willing would you be to take such a vaccine if approved soon?” (link)

He’s canny enough not to answer. But let’s not worry about that either. Let’s look away from those remarkable political coincidences. Let’s forget about the way the Covid MSM have been reporting these coincidences – they surely cannot have known beforehand: their ‘sources’ surely would have told them!

In conclusion, we’ve seen unfold before our eyes how the MSM and the covid government have been using fear & hysteria, lockdowns and the destruction of our economy to fabricate a ‘glorious’ finale: a new vaccine. It’s perfect: raising our hopes and making us comply with whatever new covid measures are coming down the line. Surely six more months of ‘shielding’, of muzzles, of lockdowns are a small price to pay for becoming two-legged guinea pigs in this ‘war of covid extermination’!

Listen carefully, I shall say this only once: ‘you have been warned!’, and that’s not fake news.

KBO!
