There are actual news and then there are ‘newsie news’: the propaganda fear porn, made to induce unthinking outrage in readers. Today is a perfect example, as a quick scan of this morning’s print editions’ front pages show (link). Remember: if it’s not in the MSM it isn’t news, be it in print, be it in the online MSM.
One truly outrageous news item however hasn’t made it into our glorious MSM – and it is outrageous. More on that below, first let me comment briefly and in general on the ‘newsie news’ I saw in the online editions. Keep in mind that the ‘reporters’ copy from each other. Leaving out the DM which is still pushing the Aitch & Em ‘story’, the strikes only getting second listing (link), there’s the DT which isn’t much better as you can see for yourself (link) and then there’s The Times (link), both of which with some ‘strike’ report.
I’ll note in the margin that the nurses’ trade union boss now demands Sunak to talk to her, as if the whole gallery of NHS ‘directors’ and ‘Hospital Trust Bosses’ are totally helpless, suffering under the boot of yon ‘health’ minister who stingingly doles out pennies.
Why, one might ask, are the nurses and other trade unions not demanding to speak with the Chancellor of the Exchequer? He’s the one with the magical money trees growing in his back garden, innit like! Perhaps they should ask the King to step up and threaten those penny-pinching ministers with the Tower and a few beheadings!
It goes without saying that our ever so wonderful ’news providers’, extremely well schooled in copy&paste, haven’t asked about the stipends and salaries paid to the ‘NHS Bosses’ – after all, these are the ones which presumably administer the hospitals and distribute the money. Needless to say, the scandal about that ‘living experience director’ with a salary well over £100,000, hasn’t led to an outcry from the nurses, never mind the MSM.
And so to the news which ought to have made the headlines but didn’t. This is a blatant example of the pernicious ‘news’ management of the MSM. First, watch this video which Paul Joseph Watson published yesterday evening:
Indeed – why didn’t this make the headlines? Did the combined Westminster MSM chiefs decide to hide this information? Why didn’t they spare just a few pixels for a report, hiding it inside the bowels of their online editions? After all, they had all day yesterday to do so!
Did their propaganda handlers in Whitehall tell them to forget about this because it might ‘disturb’ us peasants at a time when we’re struggling with inflation and exorbitant energy prices? Better to give the plebs shiny baubles like yon footie match, better to give the peasants shocking reports about ‘hospitals in melt-down’ and outraged ‘customers’ whose online parcels were left out in the rain!
Note well that nothing is ‘news’ unless and until it’s ‘in the Times’ or Al Beeb! There was a hint of a report in Reuters, praising the EU for ‘boosting the carbon market’ (link). It’s written in woolly language, dazzling with bovine excrement ‘numbers’, but apparently the consequences of that ‘carbon market scheme’ went over the pretty heads of those reporters, namely that this agreement would impose a carbon tax on everybody. There was one report though, in Euractiv (my emphasis):
“EU legislators agreed early on Sunday (18 December) to introduce a carbon price on buildings and road transport fuels, with a new €87-billion social climate fund established in parallel to cushion the impact on households and help them invest in green solutions. The new carbon price will apply to petrol, diesel and heating fuels such as natural gas whose climate warming emissions have continued to rise over the years despite attempts to decarbonise.” (link)
Yes, Net Zero is marching ahead, and if anyone believes we British plebs won’t be affected they better think again! After all, the Treasury needs ‘moar taxes’ to pay the salaries of our public servants! There’s more (my emphasis):
“Following marathon talks, negotiators agreed to start pricing the carbon emissions stemming from burning fossil fuels in road transport and heating in 2027, with a price ceiling of €45 per tonne of carbon emitted that will apply until 2030. […] The new scheme will entail higher prices at the pump: up to 10.5 cents for a litre of petrol and 12 cents for diesel, […] Heating fuels like gas, heating oil and coal will see their prices increase as well, […] to the detriment of poorer EU member states, which rely more heavily on dirty fossil heaters. “Citizens in the EU must expect higher CO2 prices,” explained Michael Bloss, a Green lawmaker who took part in the final negotiations on the ETS.” (link)
Perhaps our Remain MSM didn’t report on this EU decision because it would make the case for Rejoin a bit less enticing? Perhaps it was deemed not to be ‘News’ because our esteemed mandarins didn’t have time yet to work out how best to apply this new ‘carbon tax’ here in the UK and make it palatable to us all?
Perhaps this ‘news’ is a bit inconvenient right now, given the hard work the various government departments’ propaganda chiefs are doing to make us accept the inevitability of inflation? The culprits for that inflation have already been found: all those who took early retirement after covid lockdowns:
“Early retirement is stoking inflation and damaging growth while adding pressure to already strained public services, a report into Britain’s “missing” workers has said. An inquiry by a House of Lords committee into the 565,000 workers who left the jobs market since the start of the pandemic found that early retirement among those aged between 50 and 64 was the main driver of the trend.” (link, paywalled)
Expect this meme to become more prominent next year. After all, everybody must work to provide tax income to the government! Don’t even think of asking about all those ‘guests’ sitting in our hotels, three-star, five-star, whatevah: they don’t work ‘because: laws!’. We’re of course also not wondering if the drivers who have so callously dumped deliveries on doorsteps in the rain might have come from that cohort … no, that would be racist.
And anyway, there’s still ‘Teh War’ which our mandarins are extremely happy to promote, with the help of their propaganda outlets, the MSM. This article in The Times is a perfect example of how our Whitehall ‘sources’ manufacture ‘news’:
“Rishi Sunak has ordered a review of military support to Ukraine […] The internal assessment of the impact of Britain’s military aid to Ukraine, reported by BBC Newsnight, led to fears among government figures that the prime minister was taking an overly cautious approach to the war. A Whitehall source compared the move to a “Goldman Sachs dashboard”. The source told the BBC: “Wars aren’t won [by dashboards]. Wars are won on instinct.” They said Sunak needed to “channel his inner Boris”. Yesterday a Downing Street spokesman rejected the comparison but confirmed that military spending was being reviewed.” (link, paywalled)
Whitehall is briefing against the PM already? Blimey! God forbid that the PM wants to know if money – our money! – is spent properly! Sadly, Sunak is frit of telling mandarins and MSM that it’s either ‘moar war’ or ‘moar money for nurses’!
Moreover, God forbid that we paying peasants get to hear about a pernicious new source of taxation: “we” never copy what Brussels does, nevah! No – we’ll have to wait until the Nudge Unit and the whitehall propagandists have decided amongst themselves how best to make such news palatable.
Above all, God forbid ‘news’ were permitted to trickle out via ‘alternative’ meejah. ‘Our MSM’ must be protected, their employees must use only Whitehall sources and copy & paste from each other. Everything else isn’t ‘news’.
We plebs better shut up, work until we die, pay our taxes and enjoy the shiny baubles our kind propaganda ministries provide us with. Have a good day and take care – the NHS and this government won’t.

Re the video……..indeed scary stuff, so just as well we are not in the European Union. Or maybe whatever muppet is occupying 10, Downing Street in 2027 will align the UK to this EU inspired dictat. I know I sound disrespectful towards our political class here by referring to whoever the muppet might be etc, but we have had a whole succession of muppets occupying 10, Downing Street in recent years, so no reason to expect any different in the immediate future. However most of us who campaigned against membership and withdrawal from the European Union knew that the organisation from top to bottom was thoroughly undemocratic. The people that ran the show were not the MEP’s sitting in the European Parliament as one might expect on the basis that they were/are elected, but the EU Commissioners, who were appointed You know who they are, the likes of Patton, Britten and Kinnock who were basically failed politicians in this country but wanted to earn bucket loads for doing bugger all. The MEP’s just rubber stamped everything, but there were a few at least who didn’t do so, and they were by the one and only Mr. Nigel Farage……
I wish the EU would break up. Anyone think there is a chance of that?

Wii Quince (never heard of him, no nor have I) telling us today that when the Paramedics and Ambulance Service go on strike, the rest of us should avoid contact sports and getting into our cars to do unnecessary journeys. Excuse Mr. Quince you might not have a sense, however the rest of us, or the majority of us do have a bit of common savvy between our lug holes, and therefore do not need the likes of you to tell us to stay indoors, don’t drive, don’t pick up a knife and so on and so forth. This government and its out of touch ministers are the pits.

Yesterday we had the ‘non-partisan’ Think Tank ‘Social Market Foundation’ (SMF) given space in The Times to argue the UK needs a million migrants a year to solve the jobs crisis. Next day we read the House of Lords is wondering ‘where have all the workers gone?’ Grappling with the causes of inflation their lordships can see no further than a rise in early retirement holding back their prayers for ‘Growth’. This is the establishment talking to itself folks. And as they convince each other they are so wise and virtuous the public is being fed a fake narrative about the failings and mismanagement (some would say vandalism) of the Uk economy. Out of touch, different agenda, corruption, stupidity, whatever? Well. I say scrap the lords and shut down all these fake charity think-tanks. Do not be distracted by debates about reform or replacement. When something is not working you turn it it off. A dangerous machine is locked off before repair.

Mary………..’Be careful what you wish for’……we must, must, must abolish the House of Lords. We hear time and again when various professions ask for a pay rise to keep up with the rate of inflation, that the country cannot afford it. Well, I am afraid the country cannot afford the expense of the House of Lords either. It is way way too big these days with potentially 850 plus attendees who all qualify for an attendance fee of about £380.00 per day, if they were all to turn up at a sitting. And then one has to consider the expense of their robes which don’t come cheap, and of course like the House of Commons they are spoilt rotten whilst they are on site with heavily subsidised bars and restaurants. We need a second
elected chamber of perhaps no more than 200 attendees, and we also need a radical overhaul of the House of Commons itself, the numbers of which should be severely pruned down. A country of this size quite simply does not need 650 MP’s, but 400 in total should be enough. The occupants of the House of Commons and the House of Lords or whatever it is replaced with are there to serve us, the electorate of this country, not the other way round. The dog should wag the tail, but it seems to me that quite a significant number of MP’ s and Lords think the tail should wag the dog, and they need to be called out. In the present financial climate the axe should be taken to these subsidised bars and restaurants at the earliest opportunity like sometime in the New Year, and what’s more MP’s expenses should be abolished forthwith. And if some MP’s state that they cannot afford to live on their existing salaries they should be told stand down and allow by elections to take place to elect replacements who are able to live on those quite large salaries.
It is all scripted; that’s just conspiracy theory, right?
