Apologies, dear friends, for being late: brain fog is ‘a thing’. The ‘news’ today are the opposite of what society’s butterflies call ‘to die for’, but they serve as an indicator for the downfall of western societies. Firstly, the obligatory compilation of the news fodder the MSM offer their buyers of their print editions: “Newspaper headlines: ‘Paparazzi car chase’ and ‘£10bn for sewage spills’” (link)
In the following I present you with a collage of headlines which prove my case. For example, while one paper has Starmer on their front page, “because: Brexit”, the truly horrendous aim of his party is only reported in the DM:
“Labour’s plot to ‘rig’ elections would give 10MILLION teenagers and migrants the vote – including citizens from countries such as Russia and North Korea – Includes 3.4M European Union nationals who had lived in the UK before Brexit” (link)
And why not – after all, isn’t the Uniparty happy for more and more people with no stake in our nation to decide what a government should do by voting for them? Like raising bennies? Isn’t it well past the time to turn the slogan of the American revolution round and demand “no representation without taxation”? I mention in passing that the ‘cost-of-living’ etc would be much alleviated if VAT were reduced substantially, rather than tinkering with a percentage point of income tax.
Next, that ‘car chase’ … it’s in all the MSM so it must be true … Anyone who ever was in New York would have doubts immediately about such thing to have happened, for ‘two hours’. In one of the reports which I speed-read was the sentence that Harold filmed the thong on his smartphone … nuff said. If being a liar is bad and frowned upon, then being a bad liar ought to be sufficient for being laughed out of court.
Equally ridiculous is the latest attempt of a government to enforce ‘gender fairness’ or whatevah. It is not April 1st, I checked: “Spain launches app to show if men shirk housework” (link, paywalled). I found this remarkable not because of the blatant idiocy but because of the attitude which assumes that people would use a government app to document their own behaviour. These softly-softly approaches towards a society where government apps are seen as natural ‘help’ to regulate and change behaviour are truly the thin edges of various wedges.
Next, while some may find some sort of reassurance that not all common sense has been lost, I beg to differ:
“Woman sued boss after mistaking ‘xx’ in email for kisses – Tribunal throws out harassment case, saying accuser had ‘skewed perception’ and misinterpreted ‘innocuous’ interactions” (link, paywalled).
Isn’t it time to ask why there are women who find ‘sexual harassment’ even in the most innocent emails? What dirty minds must they have! I wonder who paid for their solicitors and for the court costs …
For once, I’ll mention the war in the Ukraine, as seen by our eminent ‘war’ correspondents. Those of us who are getting their news from other sources which we won’t mention here and which don’t rely on Ukrainian propaganda, have been aware of the ‘case of the Kinzals being shot down’ which has already been thoroughly debunked.
Still, the warmongers-in-chief at the DT write that “American Patriots nailed Putin’s hypersonic Kinzhal missile. The world has changed – Xi Jinping will be annoyed by this as well” (paywalled link), trusting that their readers would never find out the truth. Worse is the ‘eye-witness’ report of a certain Mr Kemp for the DT:
“The failure of Russia’s Wunderwaffe is game over for Putin – In Kyiv I witnessed first-hand Moscow’s wonder weapons fail. They were its last throw of the dice” (paywalled link).
Yes, dear friends – it’s all over for Putin! Perhaps that’s why Mr Ze is swanning around the world rather than stay in Kiev where he’s clearly no longer needed. Here’s one final headline on yon truly war-torn country and their regime: “Ukraine assassinated Russian propagandists, admits intelligence chief – String of bomb attacks on pro-war figures tied to Kremlin” (link, paywalled).
Assassination as government policy … is this how low that country and the western media have sunk? How would they describe any other country publicly acknowledging that they use assassinations? A terrorist state, a terrorist regime, correct? And these are the ‘western values’ the USA and EU demand we pay through our noses to ‘defend’? Words fail me
That’s all I have for today. To say that I’m disgusted with our MSM, never mind the clowns in Westminster and Whitehall, doesn’t even come close. Have a good day.
~In time of war, all countries have targeted leaders in the opposing side for assassination.eg.

I am tempted to say – I wish Harry and Megan had been killed in the ‘Papparazi Car Chase’. At least that way after a while we would be free of that ‘squirrel’..
Viv, as you mentioned it (!) – interesting reporting of Ukraine tussle uS+EEC+NATO v Russia.
At the weekend, Ukr claims to have shot down ALL the Russian missiles fired at the Patriot batteries in Kiev. Were they Kinsal missiles – you sure? Ruskies ran out of missiles more than a year ago (March 2022)?
Following failure in first ever actual action, ‘remaining’ Pat-Bats have been taken off-line.
The ‘non participating’ Americans are now trying to work out whether Daggar missiles destroyed at least one of their Pat-Bats (one thousand million plus printed dollars), plus another Pat-Bat wrecked, or did spies gave away the batteries’ positions in the built-up centre of Kiev. Either way, result was the same – destroyed / all shot down?
Also not reported, Kiev was only one of many, many Ukr cities hit by missile attacks at the same time. Ditto ammo dumps a couple of days previously. The one outside Kiev was the biggest – 500 million dollars of ammo and fuel all in a mushroom style cloud. Russia is upping the attacks. So much for the Ukr Spring offensive.
Oh, and Bark-Mutt has fallen today – for clarity, to the Russians.
Yet another week of msm misinformation or msm blackout?
And Maharaja Ritchie says, the UK government is “proud” to spend ‘billions’ on military hardware and give it away. Good ole British taxpayers.
They won’t grind us down Viv.
But always remember a rant a day keeps the doctor away.
Like fruit and veg I always try to get my 5 rants a day.
I was at a talk by Mark Francois the other night. Although a Tory he deserves some respect for his part in thwarting Theresa May’s deal except he lost whatever residual consideration I had when he launched into a tirade about Ukraine (he’s on the defence select committee). His justification is that Russia will not stop at Ukraine; the Baltic states are next then us. I was shocked at the crude reasoning offered. (Russia will not invade a NATO country and is in any case bogged down in Ukraine just trying to hold on to the Donbass and Crimea).
Why should we defend Estonia? We have troops there ready to risk their lives for a country that voted in the Council of Europe to try and punish us economically for Brexit – an act of war in my book and a direct contravention of article 8 of the Lisbon Treaty (mandating good neighbourliness). Our troops should have been withdrawn immediately they did that.
A Polish women next to me had just returned from protests in Krakow about Ukrainian refugees and told Francois that at the level of us plebs – I paraphrase – support for Ukraine was weakening. This caused a response of such fervour that it was to my mind irrational. Very worrying among the governing class. Without the overarching purpose of Ukraine Tories would have to face the domestic reality of their complete failure. So awful would contemplating that be they have thrown themselves into supporting Ukraine with the zealousness of religious converts.
This US is defending the trillions of dollars invested in Ukraine ever since the Maidan revolution. (Zelensky’s corruption is hardly an impediment to a corrupt US establishment all about dollars itself) The less than immediate or enthusiastic support for Ukraine by Macron, his attempts to broker a ceasefire, is probably more sensible but the pressure put on him and the German government by the US and UK has been considerable. Francois told us about the trips to various EU capitals that he and others on the defence committee made last year and how allegedly shocked he was by their scepticism but proud to have played a part in galvanising them.
We are governed in sound bites. I used to assume that was because the public did not have the attention span to follow more detailed argument. But ‘we are next if we do not stop Russia’ is not a cover for different, harder to explain reasons. Our governing class appears to really believe that. That is in part because they need to believe that, to have a sense of purpose and distraction, and in part from what social psychologists have proven; people who lie repeatedly before a large audience come to actually believe their lies or fictions. Tory MPs comply with imposed narratives to protect their careers but inevitably, because they have to comply publicly and repeatedly, come to actually believe. Thus the spread of net zero and support for Zelensky.
Losing touch with reality is one definition of madness. I had attended a small meeting with a madman, a member of our governing class who are collectively insane.

I think your spot on here. I had a similar feeling listening to my MP. A comment about spending on UKraine sparked a rant about ‘gangster Putin’. Hard to argue with someone reducing the whole thing down to crusade against one bad man. But thats the point. They don’t want debate, questions or discussion. They know better. Its the rehearsed spin and sanctimonious attitude that give them away. There lies the madness.
Starmer lies.
The EU is a customs union. Developed from the Coat, Iron and steel Federation ( Or some such name ).. A Cartel of large continental
The entire strength of the EU remains the same and its borders are implacably guarded as a matter of life and death. The EU cannot allow the Good Friday Agreement with free traffic across its borders . That would be the death of the mother lode.
From time to time other Industries has been given similar successful. treatment.
NEVER DO TRADE DEALS WITH EU.

Thomas, I know you meant coal, iron and steel. But it gave me a chuckle thinking that may be your correct and we will be using our dad’s old army coats again as duvets to keep warm.
The old joke was, mum the sleeves fell off the eiderdown.
Fun innit.
