The latest in the ‘vaccine wars’: Sputnik5 good – Oxford bad …

There’s bad news and then there’s really bad news. Those are generally hidden inside ‘good news’ reports. This sort of ‘reporting’  has become refined thanks to covid. Over the last year we’ve observed, stunned, how our society has crumbled under the onslaught of covid madness. We’ve noted with growing disbelief how all ‘Our MSM’ have turned into a giant propaganda machine, regurgitating government PR material.

Since I have had the pleasure to take a closer look at what the MSM have been producing, the odd token critical article included, I can state with confidence that the covid emperors have fine-tuned their attack on us peasants to a degree I never thought I’d see. Once one realises that in general their ‘science editors’ cannot possibly have had a science education beyond biology O-levels, we shouldn’t be surprised. Yes, there are exceptions but they’re hardly getting an outing.

So let’s look at that fresh covid hell which got my blood boiling this morning. Yes, it’s the covid vaccine warfare, and this isn’t just about the Oxford one. Thanks to the Brussels ineptitude, that vaccine has been labelled as ‘unacceptable’ and ‘bad’ in the EU member states. Let’s not ask why Ms vdLeyen and the rest still insist on getting as much of it as possible when their mouthpieces denounce it in continental newspapers as ‘bad’.

Instead, let’s marvel at the latest item in their vaccine ‘war’: the Russian vaccine, ‘Sputnik’, which has formerly been denounced up and down the EU as being ‘bad’ and unsafe’ and ‘just Putin propaganda’. Now it’s been shown to work very well, according to their results published in The Lancet. Lockdown Sceptics has a brief segment about this in their Newsletter today (link). It works on the same principle as the Oxford vaccine, so it’s not a Pfizer-like mRNA one.

In an unseemly propaganda effort – it’s not just our MSM who do this – we learn from EU papers that ‘Sputnik’ is ‘better than Oxford’ – and that Russia is now asking the EU to approve it for sale (paywalled link, in German). Hungary after all has already ordered this vaccine. It is utterly beyond belief: Russia and Putin, still sanctioned by the EU, still being painted as the proverbial ‘bad man’, has now produced something which EU member states hope to buy – not least in order to show ‘Bad Brexit Britain’ that they don’t need nor want the Oxford vaccine. 

For some reason which seems strange at first glance, The Times has a report as well, with this little remark:

“Russia’s vaccine is over 90 per cent effective at stopping illness from the coronavirus, according to The Lancet. Sputnik V will soon be tested in combination with the Oxford-Astrazeneca vaccine, its scientists have said. Kirill Dmitriev, the head of Russia’s direct investment fund, which backed the vaccine, said the publication of the results in The Lancet showed that Russia had a “vaccine for humanity”. Well, that’s nice, innit – but then there’s the ‘my dad is bigger than yours’ argument as The Times writes on the on hand that ‘Sputnik’ seems to be ‘slightly more effective’ than Oxford but places a report on another study of the Oxford vaccine next to that. It’s about the question if the Oxford vaccine stops the spread of the virus:

“The Oxford vaccine provides about 75 per cent protection against Covid and significantly reduces its spread after only one jab, suggests a new study that has raised hopes over the lifting of lockdown. The single dose eliminates severe illness among those who contract the virus, according to the results, which have been taken as a vindication of Britain’s strategy. It also appears to have a “substantial” effect on transmission of the virus. Ministers regard this as a hopeful sign that mass vaccination can speed the lifting of restrictions because not only are people less likely to become ill once they have had the vaccine, they are also less likely to get infected and pass on the virus.” (link, paywalled)

Well, that’s good to hear, I’m sure! However, even so the propaganda to make us compliant to ever more lockdown and covid ‘measures’ isn’t letting up at all. There are two bows to that string, one being the ‘surge testing’ on our doorsteps, the other of course being mass vaccination.

The Times has a somewhat confused report this morning which reads as if this door-to-door exercise is more akin to yet another giant, open-air lab experiment even though Matt H. claims it’s needed to ‘come down hard’ on that SA Mutation. First there’s this:

“Clusters have been found in both cities of homegrown cases involving the E484K mutation, which is thought to damp the effectiveness of vaccines. Health chiefs fear that the change has an evolutionary advantage.This is the same mutation found in the South African variant that prompted a scramble to test tens of thousands of people in eight areas on Monday.” (link, paywalled)

Note well: ‘health chiefs fear’ – but don’t know, not even when there’s this:

However, the latest cases are thought to have resulted from a mutation in Britain. Some of the cases being investigated result from samples that tested positive two months ago, raising concerns about how widely variants have spread in the meantime.” (link, paywalled)

We may well ask what the fluff this is really about. Certainly it seems less about ‘stopping the spread’ when this particular thing has been around for two months and more like occupational therapy for test&tracers while providing ‘live material’ to covid researchers. There’s an excellent article in the DM about this, under a misleading title. It’s worth reading in full.

While it’s true that we don’t need to be afraid as the good professor reasons in that article, we should be afraid of the fact that door-to-door testing is not precisely how a democracy ought to work. You’ll have noticed that one of the official ‘reasons’ for this nearly chinese exercise is ‘fear’ about the efficiency of the various vaccines. And just to make sure, the covid dictator has come up with something else: 

“People who refuse a coronavirus vaccine are delaying the end of lockdown, the health secretary has suggested. Matt Hancock said that take-up of the jab would “directly impact” how fast restrictions could be eased “ (link, paywalled)

Words utterly fail me, and not just because I’m still spluttering with fury. This ‘argument’ clearly paves the way to an ‘I’ve had the jab’ button to be worn by everyone, everywhere. The lockdown fanatics, the covid believers will use this Matt-argument as another justification for spying on and coercing their neighbours. It’s no longer “do you want to kill granny?” – it’s going to be “do you want to keep us all lockdowned?” Reason, never mind scientific reason, doesn’t come into it. 

There’s another upsetting article in The Times which surely comes under ‘none as blind as those who don’t want to see’:

“The coronavirus pandemic triggered a “huge rollback of democratic freedoms,” giving 2020 the lowest-ever score in an annual democracy index compiled for the past 15 years. The 2020 Democracy Index from the Economist Intelligence Unit found that democracy had deteriorated in all seven regions of the world for the first time since 2010, driven by government measures to address the emergency.” (link, paywalled)

Do we need more proof for the truth of that remark about those who sacrifice liberty for the sake of security don’t deserve neither the one nor the other? It seems alright for authoritarian regimes becoming more authoritarian, but then see the next point which surely hits home, ferociously:

“The most striking feature of this year’s index was the loss of civil liberties as a result of government measures in developed democracies.“The willing surrender of fundamental freedoms by millions of people was perhaps one of the most remarkable occurrences in an extraordinary year,” Joan Hoey, the report’s author noted, saying that while people accepted the measures it did not mean governments could not be criticised.” (link, paywalled)

Yeah right: governments ‘could be criticised’ – but with detrimental effects for those who did the criticising. It’s surely purely coincidental that we’ve heard nothing, for months, from Professor Carl Henegan, that Toby Young, the creator of Lockdown Sceptics, has seemingly vanished from the pages of the papers he used to write for. Apparently it’s ok to point the finger at ‘authoritarian’ regimes for having become more so thanks to covid – but we peasants just have to put up with it because one or the other is still permitted to raise a critical voice, now and then.

Meanwhile, as the MSM are choc-a-bloc with the announcement of the death of Capt Sir Tom Moore, there are two other announcement which should make us worry a lot. One is that Italy, whose ruling coalition has collapsed, will get a ‘national unity government’ under the former ECB chief Mario Draghi. He’s been asked to form the next government, to ‘fight covid’ (paywalled link). The Italians weren’t asked … but Brussels will surely be happy!

The other announcement is that the chief of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, will step down as CEO later this year – he’ll stay on as head of the board – in order to spend more time on his ‘hobbies’, one of which is green blobbery. That is what is coming down the line, post-covid, now with even more oomph. You have been warned.
