Beware the fat criminal bears lurking in the woods
In my little neck of the woods we have sunshine today and temperatures are predicted to rise into the low 20ºC. Taken with yesterday’s weather, it’s a veritable heatwave! I’m sure our glorious MSM will tell us all about it tomorrow. Today they’re doing as if they’re serious purveyors of ‘news’: “Newspaper headlines: ‘Threat to quit ECHR’ and ‘mortgage price war’” (link).
Leaving the ECHR? That should definitely stop the dinghies from coming and make the dastardly immigration lawyers shake in their boots! Sorry, I don’t think this’ll happen. It’ll be deemed too complicated, too controversial, and against the new deity: DEI – that’s diversity, equity and inclusion. Funny, isn’t it, how suddenly leaving the ECHR is an issue, never mind being talked about in the MSM, when this ought to’ve been done years ago.
Meanwhile, because there are no other news, the old issue of ‘teh elderly’ costing too much has surfaced yet again. According to a report in The Times:
“State pensions to cost more than education, policing and defence combined – An ageing population and guaranteed annual increases are leaving Britain with a huge retirement bill” (link, paywalled)
Are the British pensioners not dying off fast enough? Have the decades of ‘imports’ of young males not have any effect on the age statistics? Shouldn’t they have filled those pension pots during those decades? What happened? Those who claim yon immigrants cost the state more than they provide with work cannot possibly be correct – that would be racist.
I cannot recall any outcries about the gold-plated pensions handed out, for years, to mandarins, other public serpents, MPs and NHS ‘CEOs’. Shouldn’t a cut there alleviate the state’s burden? Or is this the usual attempt from TPTB to create ‘acceptance’ for somehow reducing the amount the state pensions will have to rise, always calculated in September?
Furthermore, nobody in those plush chatting circles of the Westminster swamp wonders how come that state pensioners seem to be untouched by the cost-of-living crisis which has affected so many – from train drivers to nurses, NHS consultants and civil serpents – that they were ‘forced’ to go on strikes. ‘Tis a veritable financial wonder! Perhaps treasury mandarins ought to ask some of those elderly for financial advice?
There was one wonderful Silly Season ‘story’ published yesterday which I kept on file. Yesterday I only had time and space to rant about the ‘water traumatised poor refugees’. I’m sure you’ll forgive me for producing it today. It is a brilliant example for the terrible patriarchy, providing evidence for ‘unconscious bias’, transferred even to innocent animals – not that author and comment posters seem to have noticed.
Under the headline “Fugitive bear ‘Hank the Tank’ caught after 21 break-ins” The Times writes about a black bear in the USA, and in the text there’s a photo which can only be described as ‘fat shaming’. Clearly, this bear could only be male – oh the sexism! As if there are no big female animals! It turns out this was a bear mom, with three cubs, and a proper crime family they were:
“Their mother and at least two other adult bears are believed to have been responsible for more than 150 incidents in the region straddling Nevada and northern California. At one break-in in Tahoe Keys last year, an animal smashed a window and squeezed through a small gap to enter the home while residents were there. The animal fled into the woods when police arrived.” (link, paywalled)
Yep – criminals they were, and now that they’ve been caught they’re going to ‘prison’ and will be ‘rehabilitated’. Firstly, mummy bear and her three cubs will be undergoing medical tests at an animal sanctuary. Then there’ll be a further relocation and rehabilitation:
“Officials plan to rehome the cubs at a wildlife rescue facility in Sonoma County, California, “in hopes they can discontinue the negative behaviours they learnt from the sow and can be returned to the wild”.” (link, paywalled)
See – ‘bad parenting’ even occurs amongst wild animals! I wonder why it is that our ‘authorities’ aren’t separating ‘human cubs’ from their criminal mums, to teach them to ‘discontinue the negative behaviour’ they’ve learned from mum. Perhaps such rehabilitation works for bear cubs because they don’t have or use smartphones …
Given the ubiquitous ignorance here and clearly in the USA, I’m not even going to point out that this bear was so huge because bears do eat as much as possible during summer and early autumn, to obtain sufficient fat reserves to see them through the winter hibernation. I wonder why no ‘expert’ has pointed this out.
That’s all I have for today. “We” don’t need to know anything about bears or indeed the environment: “we” are engaged only in saving the planet, virtue-signalling our commitment by supporting Net Zero. Have a good day.
This hatred of oldies is partly because we can remember how things were before TPTB trashed and defiled everything. We can remember when common sense and ordinary decent morality generally prevailed, citizens were not generally abused and insulted by TPTB and schoolchildren were not in the clutches of lefty perv “teachers,” and so on. They don’t want us to be around so that we can tell the youngsters that the present disgusting state of affairs is most certainly not, and most certainly shouldn’t be, the norm. They want everything good , and the memory of it, to be erased for ever.
May we live for a very long time to be a thorn in TPTB’s side.
The UK is run as a giant ponzi scheme. Public sector pensions are an unfunded liability that has reached £2 trillion. The universal state pension (close to the lowest level of payout in Europe) is a significant part of the cost of government. The Treasury can see no way out other than immigration and appears to be in denial of the net cost of the huge and rapid population growth through immigration over the past 20 years. Since no-one has a clue as to why productivity is flatlined in the UK the focus, fetish even, is on the ratio of economically active to inactive and pure dogma that immigration improves the ratio rather than worsens it.
Ponzi schemes eventually collapse and our own is accelerated by the Climate Change Act 2008 as amended by Theresa May’s hand grenade of an amendment that she lobbed just before she resigned as PM. Yet it is Germany that may prove to be the canary in the coal mine for the effects of de-industrialisation caused by green politicians. Germany used to have (to all our benefit) a large chemicals industry (upon which modern civilisation depends) but it is so energy intensive that companies like BASF and Lanxes are moving production to the US and China as they have lost confidence in the security of energy supply in Germany. (Siemens is reviewing its wind turbine business on which it is facing €4.5 billion losses.) Last year, as I think I mentioned in a comment at the time, I attended a talk by a German industrialist who mentioned that all the large German chemical industries already had plans to move production out of Germany but there would be no unemployment as there will be millions of green jobs. The contradiction of green policies causing capital flight while simultaneously generating employment (it won’t be at Siemens) was no contradiction at all in his mind. He was an evangelist for a green Germany. Although out of the EU we will all suffer from Europe losing its powerhouse. I’m as worried by German de-industrialisation as by our own.
Still, good news that the crime family in Nevada has been captured.
I’m more interested in the crime family inhabiting the White House and when they will be thrown to the wolves.
Pensioners under attack again. Yes we do suffer from the cost of living rising but we have also been hit by 13 years of near zero interest rates reducing the value of our saving and despite the recent rises the rates are still below inflation. I also find a lot of people do realise that the state pension is counted as income and is at the moment not taxed as generally it has not reached the tax free level of £12500.00. Private pension are taxed as normal income again some people seem to think that pensions are not taxable. What I would like to know how much tax the government get from pensioners.
John Romer, you’re right about pension tax which we pay in a megre private pension and get little or no interest from savings which we hoped would allow us a reasonable retirement after working over fifty and forty years respectively as well as raising three children who all work. Instead we will have no choice but to blow a lot of it in private healthcare before I end up in a wheelchair. I wish nothing but ill on the whole of Westminster, with one or two exceptions. I just want to live long enough to see them go down.
Lisa. Guilty by association – the lot of them. I don’t buy into the Redwoods, Mcveys, Bravermans, Moggs etc putting on their good cop routines. Rope in the dopes is their Party trick for which they will be well rewarded.
