I have just been looking at S DT . Industrial Trusts, Electricals Enginrrs Etc. There are three times the number of Investment trusts.. Do you know what an investment trust is.
A government decides to print some money. They phone a bank. They say do you want to borrow some money at 0%. OK he says and goes and offeres a small sum for a business somewhere. They nor the bank have any idea except they all know they can now cut wages.. Put in place a plan to double sales increase range, cut overheads . Job done.Sell all assets and go on holiday.. All done by grinding the faces taxed out of work.
And that’s near enough it

Our disappointment and disillusionment is about things which are peripheral to the wonders of being alive and having people you can make happy by your presence.

I can only make people happy through my absence. ha ha,
But if it makes them happy I’ll settle for that. !!

Betrayal.! Viv got it right !That is all there has been since 1945.. The only evidence that the machinery of government has been been working is the collapse of a worlds much admired country, into third word corruption, self congratulation and mockery..
We are represented on the world stage by worthless loons.
We have almost no worth, no admiration, just contempt for our slavery to the tech toys and junk sales.

Harry Again……….oh not him again. Are you employed by the company who makes Lemsip by any chance? It contains 1000mg of Paracetamol, so one might as well just take two Paracetamol tablets. Just saying…….

Paracetamol makes me throw up Colin. Aspirin have never done me any harm. Trust me, I have to be different and an awkward cuss! Bit like me insisting on the freedom to smoke myself to death isn’t it.
I’m jolly well going to buy myself a teddy bear and may be I’ll find a way to have a dog again!

Not surprised you have come down with a cold Viv. Ploughing through all the lies and absolute drivel in the MSM would bring most people low. A hot toddy AND a glass of grog works wonders. Get well soon.

You know what Colin. I really fancy the teddy bear in the picture.
Still wondering whether to order one from Amazon.
Do you think there is any truth in the theory that the elderly have at a second childhood.

I had been thinking that the stuffed teddy bear in the picture above might as well be installed as the replacement for Johnson in Downing Street. It certainly couldn’t do any worse than the present incumbent.

Pauline, I still have my big teddy bear that was given to me at age five! He occupies pride of place in an armchair in my bedroom. I don’t know about a second childhood. I’m on at least my third! Go ahead buy a Teddy bear! Then read the poem by A A Milne in ‘When We Were Very Young’ titled Teddy Bear! Magic! (I expect you can find it by Googling the title!)

No apology needed, our esteemed editor has been working miracles for years. The idea that whisky is a cure is nonsense — although further research could be needed.

Further to your research…
Whisky, lemon, honey and hot water works for me
My late Brother-in-Law (an irish doctor) recommended a generous measure of potheen in hot milk at bed-time, plus an extra eiderdown to help sweat it out.
Another Irish preventive medicine; Whiskey (note spellimg difference for different brew) lemon,honey/sugar,hot water and a few cloves.Take generously if you fear you MIGHT be subject to a chill.
Finally, from Prague; Potato, onion and garlic soup. One onion, finely chopped. One whole globe of garlic, peeled and finely chopped, and one large potato peeled, sliced and diced into quarter inch cubes. Saute onions till translucent. Add garlic and cook a bit longer. Add beef stock and diced potato. Simmer till potato is cooked. Ground black pepper and salt to taste. If you are really trendy, garnish with some freshly chopped parsley. Believe it or not,it tastes good, and if nothing else ensures “social distancing”..
