People keep peddling the myth that we’re out of the EU. A dangerous falsehood. The Government’s delivery of “Brexit” is a very cynical exercise, and reminds me of a story about Bliar as a schoolboy: told to get his hair cut 4 times per term, he had a haircut on 4 consecutive days. Cavalierly making a mockery of the whole thing.
Similarly, the politicians may be able technically to say they got us out of the EU, as promised. But, they’ll say, “we never made any promises not to immediately tie Britain back into the same treaty obligations and alignment with the EU . And we never promised never to re join.”
I wanted Brexit mainly for 3 reasons: Civil liberties. Immigration. Plus it’s never a good idea to put your whole destiny in someone else’s power.
I wanted a complete return to English Common Law, rather than being in danger of arbitrary arrest, extradition, and long-term imprisonment, especially for one’s opinions; or of being at the complete mercy of the EU Public Prosecutor or diplomatically immune EU paramilitary police on our own soil.
But the Trade and Cooperation Agreement (Chapter 3) prolongs this appalling arrangement, no change apart from a few minor tweaks. The amendment of the 2003 Extradition Act has not been done as was needed.
So people have since 2015 still been extradited and kept imprisoned arbitrarily (although a Freedom of Information request is underway as to the numbers of people extradited from Britain to Europe; more about that later ). The excuse for this is that we need to cooperate with the EU over criminal justice. Indeed we do but never at the expense of our own due process. But then of course the motives of the politicians never was to maintain law and order except when it suited their agenda.
One example is David Noakes who I believe was extradited to France since “Brexit,” and was rotting in jail there until recently. If we had Brexit as claimed, why was this?
And Julian Assange. Incarcerated for years now pending extradition under an EU Arrest Warrant, initially to Sweden. Even though Sweden no longer wants him. Still in a high-security jail even though a key witness has admitted he lied.
And of course on top of all this, the Covid tyranny. Brought in through deception and lies.
Re Immigration: the Government have made a mockery of regaining control of borders and the dinghy arrivals, they have the power but not the will to control it.
And re the UN Global Compact for Migration: this claims to give states power to dictate how many migrants they take but I’m sure that cunningly hidden behind reams of turgid legal agreements, that right is handed to the EU. Even if that were not so, our politicians have no will to prevent the enormous invasion which will I believe hit us at the same time as the coming fiscal meltdown.
But isn’t all this academic: if the Great Reset happens, isn’t Brexit checkmated? The Great Reset means one-world government, no borders, a universal digital currency, universal tyranny shaping up to be worse even than any tyrannies in the past. No wonder that egregious patriot Teresa May looked remarkably breezy sometimes during her “leadership.” These politicians are totally cynical and laughing up their sleeves while they throw us to the wolves. Their motto must surely be never to give a sucker a break, and voters certainly are suckers if they keep voting mainstream.
I shall leave the topic of trade to better-qualified persons than myself.
But there is another myth that has been peddled lately by Brexiteers who should know better. No names mentioned. That is, that “one of Brexit’s biggest triumphs is the success of the vaccine rollout”.
Excuse me: an experimental vaccine for which demand has been fraudulently created, which could have catastrophic unforeseen effects now, next year and in a generations time; peddled to a gullible population on false premises lies and fraud, without informed consent about the dangers and also the lack of accountability; and using undue influence. Such an experimental vaccine is not normally allowed unless there is an emergency or pandemic and provided no other effective remedies exist like Ivermectin.
Many dead or with life-altering injuries. Yet they will doubtless forge ahead and vaccinate children too I have no doubt.
And they call that a triumph?
So in conclusion, we can’t say “Job Done.”
” KBO” would be more appropriate !!
Thanks mary. I agree with much of what you said in the article. I voted for Brexit because I wanted full Sovereignty to return to the U.K.
In many ways it has NOT and most of that IS because of the Trade and Co-operation Agreement. Didn’t we, on here, keep saying, Walk Away?!!
The vaccine rollout myth:- Well it would have happened I think, if we had walked away.
I can understand our politicians claiming it as a triumph for Brexit. All politicians have to keep patting themselves on the back publicly.
But SUCCESS it certainly IS NOT. It should not be compulsory for any one in any circumstances and it should not be given to children in any circumstances. So there are still outstanding battles to be fought. Keep BATTLING on, indeed!
We shall never be free until the NI protocol and the WA are ripped up and we only deal with the EU on WTO terms, as well as leaving the Coucil of Europe and the tyranny of its Srassburg court. And as other readers have already mentioned in other articles, it is time to leave NATO as well since we should not be payint for our soldiers to defend ithe EU. It is well beyond time to bring the troops home!
when tyranny becomes law resistance is duty. dead right but I couldnt play the video.

Dear Viv posting on several other of your pages (excuse me)
Now we see, if there was ever any doubt, why the good citizens of the US have their Second Amendment. If only… government might show us some respect.
Interesting comments Mary of which I fully agree – thank you.
Good one Mary!
I will only add to it what I mentioned yesterday that the legislation for our government by decree is in place until the end of the year, even though there are some relaxations supposed to be coming this month
This enabling act in the name of a Covid Epidemic has rendered us without voice or method of fighting iniquitous laws imposed at will, without prior discussion in Parliament, which is in effect and practice a regime of Tyranny
This is what is known in Scotland as ” a double dunt” I.e. Two doses of the same imposition, that of lack of freedom from the EU and now lack of freedom from our own elected government.
Oh! and one last thing I always thought it was “never give a sucker an even break”
Are you suggesting they are going the whole hog?
Roger “never give a sucker an even break ; Are you suggesting they are going the whole hog?” In a word, Yes.
To digress, i confess I used that idiom without knowing where it came from, and slightly got it wrong. I just looked it up and interestingly it has links with W,C Fields. To digress completely from the matter in hand, I’d never heard of WC Fields until a few years ago when I came across several of Benny Hill’s most hilarious sketches, take-offs of WC Fields 1974and1978. Its a very bittersweet experience watching these , I roar with laughter but feel very very sad at how life has changed since then, political correctness choking all humour and joy in life.
Great article, thank you. As is so often said, democracy has become purely ceremonial, a Kabuki theatre populated by puppets. Still, I think there are some reasons to be cautiously optimistic. The EU has suffered strategic defeat after strategic defeat in recent years, and is also structurally bankrupt. The recent decision by the Fed Chairman Jay Powell to raise interest rates on excess reserves exposed the vulnerability of the euro and eurobond markets, which immediately swooned. It would not take much to catapult the EU into another major crisis, worse than the last one, and with a weaker underlying economy to boot. It is cold comfort for us right now, but in the long run tyranny rarely prevails for long, because it creates a pathway to its own destruction.
Anna your last comment is the only thing that is keeping my spirits up now! I agree with you that tyrannies do not prevail for ever. It just feels like they will (and do) during the time that they are being experienced! I would give much to see the iniquitous EU fall and disintegrate. The sooner the better. That is one tyranny too many in this wretchedly arranged World!
Yes it is cheering to see the EU faltering, but it pales beside The Great Reset, which is an EU on steroids for the world. Or for what is left of the world once the WEF sociopaths have finished with it.
Kabuki theatre populated by puppets. Brilliant. Everyone hiding beneath grotesque masks and costumery, having their strings pulled by shadowy figures and dancing to someone else’s tune.
2nd para. Agree completely. A brilliant and chilling description that hits the nail on the head.
Interesting comment Anna. Cold comfort? I disagree. To me it is a great comfort that you have pinpointed more indications of the EU crumbling, than I was aware of. Since we are not totally free of it, the sooner it goes the better, say I.
Well said Mary. So many of us agree with you and yet feel helpless to make any meaningful difference because much of the rest of the population seems oblivious to the creeping threat of global totalitarianism! Much as we talk to our friends, relatives and acquaintances about the chicanery that we believe is being perpetrated against us, what can one do against the stone wall of incomprehension that most of us are meeting. All the while the MSM and worst of all the BBC, parrot the propaganda of defeat, the truly sceptic amongst us are beating our heads against a brick wall! We will not give in and we will continue to fight but the mental and physical toll is becoming huge!
