The airport chaos is still ongoing and there were protests about ULEZ, according to our lovely MSM: “Newspaper headlines: Stranded travellers ‘out of pocket’ and Ulez revolt” (link). Well, yes: it’s utterly shameful that the government or whoevah isn’t compensating those stranded air passengers or those families who booked a holiday “for £7,000”: where do they get all that money from? 

Meanwhile, as Londoners protest against ULEZ, dear old Khan has reassured them that he’s not gonna charge non-electric cars driving into London i.sn’t that nice of him! But beware: according to the DT, ‘individual local councils’ can still impose such bans if they like (paywalled link). I am again reminded of that old communist dictator in East Germany who told his people and the world that ‘nobody is thinking of building a wall’ at the border to west Germany. Two months later, the wall went up.

Well, I’m sure that we’re all happy to put up with the inconvenience of being fleeced by ULEZ and similar schemes, or byt he blanket 20mph speed limit across Labour’s Welsh fiefdom: it’s ‘for saving the planet’, innit, so shut up. Anyway, as long as people have enough money to fly wherever they like they’ll have the money to pay for ULEZ and the children of ULEZ wherever councils want to impose them.

Interestingly enough, the carnage at Nottingham Carnival hasn’t garnered huge headlines or a slew of opinion pieces by the usual suspects. The broadsheets however did have articles, e.g. The Times:

“Stabbings at the Notting Hill Carnival reached the highest level in seven years, with violence, sexual offences and assaults on police officers marring the two-day spectacle. Scotland Yard said there were eight non-fatal stabbings on Monday. A 29-year-old man was critically ill after being stabbed near Kensal Green while a 19-year-old man was in a “serious but stable condition” following a knife attack in Ladbroke Grove. Six other men, aged 18, 19, 20, 25, 28 and 40, were also stabbed.” (link, paywalled)

Not living in London nor reading local London papers, I dunno if this is a bit like ‘business as usual’, with stabbings apparently being such a normal occurrence that there’s no huge outcry. There were other crimes as well though:

“The level of violence at the Notting Hill Carnival has become “unacceptable and unsustainable” the Metropolitan Police Federation has said. A police officer was sexually assaulted and six others were bitten this year while footage has emerged of a youth running through the streets with a machete.” (paywalled link)

Blimey: who’d bit a police officer and why! Still, good old Khan said that this was a lovely little Carnival, so nothing to see here and no need to get upset: the majority was peaceful and boyz will be boyz. Making people pay to enter London is far more important and anyway, mentioning those stabbings and bitings is surely racist.

I leave you with an extraordinary report on the front page of The Times, headlined: “Britain is no longer a Christian country, say frontline clergy – Survey finds attitudes in church are changing” (link). At first glance, I shrugged my shoulders and thought to myself: well, so what? It’s what the Left and the chattering classes have been working for over decades, isn’t it. Haven’t we been told again adn again that “we” are now a secular country? Surely this isn’t worthy of the top spot in the paper!

Nevertheless, I did click on that title, and what can I say: it was pure clickbait. This front page scream simply linked to an article titled: “Shifting attitudes of frontline clergy revealed in landmark poll – Times survey shows priests’ desire for dramatic shifts in doctrine on issues such as sex, sexuality, marriage and the role of women” (link, paywalled).

Diving into this report, I am beyond astonished because yon clergy simply doesn’t seem to be able to grasp the attitude of more and more of their ever dwindling congregations. The survey:

“[…] has found a strong desire among rank-and-file priests for significant changes in church doctrine on issues such as sex, sexuality, marriage and the role of women to bring it into greater line with public opinion. A majority of priests want the church to start conducting same-sex weddings and drop its opposition to premarital and gay sex, in results described as “absolutely huge” by campaigners.” (link, paywalled)

This is a nice example for doubling down: ‘the church’ needs even more leniency for sex in all variations because this is now ‘public opinion’. Blimey. There’s more:

The survey also uncovered high levels of stress among priests, many of whom feel over-stretched. They fear that the church’s efforts to arrest the decline in attendance will fail and this may ultimately lead to its “extinction”.” (link, paywalled)

It is beyond my understanding how priests can feel ‘overstretched’ when their congregations have already dwindled so much, thus leading to less work for priests. Apparently, Welby’s Church thinks that more gay stuff will ‘arrest the decline’ which has been going on for decades, and that they can fill their empty pews with LGTB+ ‘campaigners’. Amazing!

‘More of the same’ and ‘obfuscate’ seem to be the guidelines for politicians, clergy and civil serpents whenever their schemes aren’t accepted by us peasants. I’m sure it’s useless to remind yon clergy of a lesson from history. The Church in Soviet Russia was made extinct and didn’t exist, officially, for 79 years. And look at Russia now.

That’s all I have for today. Someone ought to tell the chattering, secular classes that a “Church” may indeed become extinct. Faith however will  not. Have a good day.
