Look – a really fat squirrel!

 

It’s called pussy-footing around and the MSM are brilliant at it. Their headlines this morning are about keeping muzzled up, jabbed or not, or about children having to be covid-vaccinated. It’s coming to something though when a Red Top, the DM, leads their online edition with the headline:

“EXCLUSIVE: COVID-19 ‘has NO credible natural ancestor’ and WAS created by Chinese scientists who then tried to cover their tracks with ‘retro-engineering’ to make it seem like it naturally arose from bats, explosive new study claims” (link).

That was at the time of writing at 6am. I wonder when this ‘Exclusive’ will be relegated to the bottom of the online page. The DT also has an ‘Exclusive’ on their frontpage, under this headline:

“Exclusive: UK intelligence helping US investigate Wuhan lab leak theory – Move comes after Joe Biden ordered American intelligence officials to ‘redouble’ efforts to identify the origins of Covid” (paywalled link)

The DM’s article is certainly worth reading! Further down the page there’s an even more explosive finding by the authors of that scientific paper:

“In another striking claim contained in the research paper, Dalgleish and Sørensen say they have evidence that after the pandemic began, Chinese scientists took samples of the COVID-19 virus and ‘retro-engineered’ it, making it appear as if it had evolved naturally. They said they were suspicious of a raft of new strains suddenly entered into gene databases by predominantly Chinese scientists early in 2020, years after they were recorded as being collected. ‘We think that there have been retro-engineered viruses created,’ Dalgleish told DailyMail.com. ‘They’ve changed the virus, then tried to make out it was in a sequence years ago.’ (link)

You’re not alone if you wonder how come we never heard of this, how come there wasn’t a peep from our own top virologists. After all, they are extremely good at sequencing the viral genome, thus finding all those new ‘variants’, be they ‘of concern’ or ‘of interest’. Charles Moore – not a virologist but an eminent journalist – writes in his opinion piece in the DT today:

“Some scientific publications – Nature, for example, and The Lancet – were vehemently hostile to such thoughts [that covid was man-made and escaped from a lab]. Donald Trump had quickly given credence to the idea that the Chinese regime had created the virus. Most Western scientists were so horrified by the prospect of his presidential re-election that they rejected whatever he said. Large collections of scientists wrote angry public letters. The British scientific establishment was particularly timid about casting aspersions on China. All of the above treated the Chinese communist regime much more tenderly than they did Trump’s America. In some cases, commercial interests and Chinese academic sponsorships were in play.” (paywalled link)

Not only world-renowned scientific journals and collections of scientists have thus betrayed their reputation by not publishing their findings to explore reality, the ‘moderators’ of anti-social media took on the mantle of ‘protecting “scientific” truth’:

“For the best part of a year, the idea that Covid came from the Wuhan lab, not the Wuhan wet market – or other animal sources – became almost unsayable in public. Facebook even banned publication of posts claiming Covid was man-made.” (paywalled link)

Why then can this hypothesis be talked about all of a sudden, with facebook allegedly having scrapped their ban on mentioning the possibility of a Wuhan Lab escape of a man-made virus? That’s easy: Trump is no longer in office and Biden, that saintly new US President, has now ordered US Intelligence services to investigate, that’s why! Moreover, our British agencies will ‘help’ our cousins, according to the DT’s ‘exclusive’:

“British intelligence officials have conducted their own investigation into the origins of the pandemic following claims that Covid came from a laboratory in China – a claim the Chinese government has consistently denied. On Friday night, Sir Richard Dearlove, a former head of MI6, said the situation was becoming an “intelligence issue” where British security services may need to “incentivise” Chinese defectors to get to the truth if China did not open up its research to scrutiny.” (paywalled link)

Never mind that a year ago Sir Richard Dearlove had already said so, it gets worse. My outrage went into overdrive when I read this:

“Despite finding no fault with the analysis, Nature Medicine declined to publish the work, telling the authors that there were many other “pressing issues of public health and clinical interest that take precedence”. The Journal of Virology and the biology preprint server BioRxiv also turned down the work, even though one eminent professor told The Telegraph in confidence: “The paper seems good to me and the conclusions, whilst startling, seem valid.” (paywalled link)

What on earth could’ve ‘taken precedence’ over an investigation into the covid origin? An investigation which might have helped research into treatments, not just vaccines? Instead papers of questionable scientific methods were published to discredit treatments such as Ivermenctin. Was it just ‘fear’ of losing chinese money grants – or was it politics pure and simple? Last year Sir Richard Dearlove had already supported the claim by those two scientists, that the virus was man-made. He has now come out, all guns blazing:

“Sir Richard, who has consistently said that a lab escape of an engineered virus is a likely scenario for the outbreak of coronavirus, said it was “outrageous” that journals had failed to publish reports from leading scientists that challenged the standard view. “It seems to me there has been absolutely no scientific debate,” he told The Telegraph. “The Chinese made an assertion without any explanation and that the majority of the scientific community seem to accept it at face value. It’s clear that they’ve run an information operation to try and suppress any other view.” (paywalled link)

Next, he lays into the journal ‘Nature’, not mincing his words, saying that it’s outrageous how that journal had ‘co-operated with the chinese narrative’. He then puts this debate into a global political context:

“This is the biggest disruptive event globally since World War Two. We sit there and we take at face value what the Chinese say, and what I’m advocating is an absolutely clear debate and a proper discussion, and not complete suppression. If it did come out of the lab it raises all sorts of questions about virological research, and the mere fact this has happened and disrupted all the world’s economy, what does that say to an aggressive malign regime who might want to go mucking around with a virus?” (paywalled link)

Amen to that! It is truly horrifying that a year has been lost thanks to the global MSM’s relentless anti-Trump campaign and thanks to the fearfulness and gullibility of our own scientists and politicians who’d rather accept what China and the WHO say, thus suppressing research which might have helped in our fight against covid. This isn’t just a tiny ‘scandal’ in some scientific journals but an outrage committed by the whole scientific community.

In conclusion it is fair to say that the scientific community has traduced the scientific tradition. It is fair to say that they and the various national ‘science’ advisers have suppressed evidence, maligned proper scientists, stifled debate, let antisocial media destroy the reputations of critical scientists and got us into this mess where our civil liberties have been taken away, our economies have been trashed and countless lives have been damaged.

Why? Was it simply because all those ‘players’ wanted to keep Pres Trump from winning last year’s election? Was it simply to keep their own culpability hidden, for example their financial support for that Wuhan BioLab or their chinese monetary connections? All these people, from antisocial media moguls to MSM chiefs, from ‘scientific advisers’ to our own covid politicians and the covid stasi have blood on their hands.

If you need me to tell you what the fattest squirrel of them all was and is then ponder that all of the above people have been pointing their fingers at Russian and Putin, incessantly, but never ever at China and Xi. As an exercise in deflection it is unsurpassed. A pity then, isn’t it, that it cost and still costs the lives of so many people. 

The worst though is that this has completely destroyed our trust in science and the scientific tradition and probity. There’s one tiny silver lining: perhaps this will help to finally discredit the credibility of the ‘science’ which the Greta-acolytes tell us we must follow.
