The winter outlook for “We the People”, perchance?

Some extraordinary news items reported yesterday have left ‘Our MSM’ in a state of confused speechlessness. They’ve been trying hard though to keep their ‘Project CV-19-Fear’ going and to get rid of the PM. It’s all unravelling though, and just as in the fable about that little boy calling ‘Wolf’, thanks to their previous anti-BJ-campaign his latest attempt isn’t getting the critical attention it deserves. Oh – there’s also Putin trying to steal ‘our vaccine’ (link, link paywalled) … and then there’s Sir Patrick Vallance. 

First though – the PM’s latest largesse. He’s giving another £3bn to ‘Our NHS’ – to keep the Nightingale Hospitals open over winter (link, link paywalled). These are the huge ‘hospitals’ erected at the height of the ciris which were never used. The one in London, you may remember, treated 49 patients.

The money is also allowing ‘Our NHS’ to keep possession of all those private hospitals – hospitals which also haven’t been used. Will ‘Our NHS’ now use those places for any and all CV-19 cases while they get going on treating  the huge backlog of patients ill and dying with cancer, of going blind with eye conditions, of doing the ‘selective’ ops on hip and knee replacement? Given what has been happening in hospitals across the country with hardly any CV-19 patients needing treatment, I somehow doubt it. 

That extra money will apparently also be used to ‘increase testing capacity’ by 40%. After all, the SAGE Sir Patrick Vallance said:

“that Britain still did not have enough testing capacity for winter and it was essential to expand provision. There was a need to check all those with coronavirus symptoms in the winter so as not to lose track of the virus, he said.” (link, paywalled)

This might look reasonable at first glance although I question why Sir P.V. and his experts are now regarding us as guinea pigs in a nation-wide experiment to ‘keep track of the virus’. When I saw his next utterance alarm bells were ringing loudly:

“A marketing campaign urging people to get tested is also planned to drive more people into the NHS Test and Trace system to get virus levels as low as possible before winter. Sir Patrick said he was optimistic about faster tests and “multiplex” testing which checked for flu and coronavirus at the same time.” (link, paywalled)

Never mind that money will go towards PR campaigns – I wonder what they’ll come up with next, ‘test and save lives’, perhaps? –  the idea that we must be ‘driven’ to get tested and traced is alarming. Moreover, the prospect of ‘multiplex testing’ is ludicrous. Recall that, CV-19 apart, there are over 200 coronaviruses which cause coughs and sniffles. So how are the tests going to discern between them? Will any cough now mean ‘test and self-quarantine’ for everybody? 

Or is this whole testing exercise rather about collecting ever more data about us? Will we need to have test-printouts which we must produce before we’re allowed into shops? Is the concept of identity cards now being turned into health passes which of course would be useless without some sort of ID? 

Then there’s the little problem of supply. It’s not just testing kits – ‘Our NHS’ is now stockpiling everything to ‘combat’ CV-19, from PPE and masks to ventilators and stuff. Government will also ‘encourage’ us to get the flu jab, but ‘Our NHS’ might not have enough vaccine for that:

“An expanded flu vaccination campaign is also planned, with ministers hoping to give the jab to everyone over 50 if supplies allow.” (link, paywalled)

Do the under-50s not get the flu? Do they not need to be ‘protected’? As for ‘test-and-trace’ – the only known cure for CV-19 if you believe the SAGE sages and the ‘experts’ in ‘Our MSM’! – my jaw hit the floor when I saw this report in The Times, under a headline screaming about a ‘dramatic slowdown in testing’:

“The contact-tracing system slowed to its lowest level yet last week as fewer people were successfully isolated […] Only 71 per cent of known contacts were reached and asked to isolate last week, down from 72 per cent the week before and 91 per cent in the first week of the scheme, according to NHS Test and Trace figures. The results showed that although test results were coming much quicker than when the scheme started at the end of May, turnaround slipped last week. Eighty-seven per cent of tests in drive-through centres came back within 24 hours, down from 91 per cent the week before. However, only 74 per cent of results were returned within 24 hours of someone booking a test.” (link, paywalled)

A reduction of 1% is indeed ‘dramatic’ – certainly when one notices that ‘Our MSM’ have got their teeth into yet another scientific paper, published in ‘The Lancet’. Here’s the summary in the DT:

“Researchers said that the R value, which is number of people that a single infected person will go on to infect, can be reduced from 1.2 to 0.8 through contact tracing in the “most optimistic scenario”. But for that to work, at least 80 per cent of eligible people must be tested, there can be no delays in testing after the onset of symptoms, and at least 80 per cent of contacts must be identified on the same day as test results are received.” (link)

This is a wonderful example of academics living in ivory towers: no delay in testing after the onset of symptoms? And ‘identifying’, i.e. tracing the tested on the same day? Cloud-Cuckoo-land, here we come! This is a charter for hypochondriacs. Here are more plans or proposals about testing which sent shivers down my spine:

“Key to avoiding another national lockdown will be a new target of having the capacity to carry out 500,000 antigen tests per day – the tests that determine if someone currently has the virus. It would enable all 360,000 of the people expected to have flu-like symptoms each day during the winter cold and flu season to be tested to see who needs isolation. It would also mean blanket testing of local populations could be carried out following outbreaks, regardless of whether people have symptoms or not.” (link)

Just savour that quote. ‘Get tested or there’ll be a Lockdown’! Testing ‘all 360,000’ expected to have flu-like symptoms – per day? Where? Won’t they contaminate, ahem: infect others when needing to go to be tested? Worse: will local tinpot dictators now tell their populations to get tested or else – ‘regardless’? Will plod appear on our doorsteps to drag us to whatever testing centre? 

This is truly about the sheepification of all of us. And now the top SAGE Sir P.V. has finally dropped the mask. He told MPs at a HoC Select Committee hearing yesterday:

“Sir Patrick said yesterday that Mr Johnson had not so far acted against advice given to him by the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies (Sage). “ (link, paywalled)

So the PM ought to do precisely as SAGE tells him to … really? Who elected SAGE? That report is about Sir P.V.’s ‘sage’ advice on working from home: he sees nothing wrong with continuing it. The DT seems to think there’s a growing divide between SAGE and the PM:

“In a lengthy session before the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee, Sir Patrick Vallance appeared to signal a growing divide between scientists and Downing Street on health issues, including homeworking, face masks and the lockdown.” (link)

I beg to differ, not least because the PM is not only herded by SAGE but more so by ‘Our MSM’, as the whole Lockdown Saga has illustrated. He is obviously frit of not complying with SAGE and ‘Our MSM’.

There is however a new study by the Oxford group around Professor Gupta which has looked at herd immunity (bad word, according to ‘Our MSM’). You might like to read the report in the DT here – it’s not paywalled. This is the conclusion:

“Given the mounting evidence that exposure to seasonal coronaviruses offers protection against clinical symptoms, it would be reasonable to assume that exposure to SARS-CoV-2 itself would confer a significant degree of clinical immunity,” the study says. Thus, a second peak may result in far fewer deaths, particularly among those with comorbidities in the younger age classes.” (link)

Obviously we can’t have that – it would undermine the fear & hysteria of a 2nd wave, and might make us less compliant. We’re witnessing a struggle between government ‘experts’ who rely on Ferguson models, be it at the start of the pandemic, be it now when ‘predicting’ 120,000 deaths this winter if the PM doesn’t do as they tell him to – and between non-government scientists whose models are in fact undermining the gloom&doom predictions. These models also undermine the demand for blanket test&trace exercises and stand against the sheepification of the Nation.

This will end in tears – hopefully for SAGE and the wolf-shouting MSM. I don’t want to live in a country where the needs of ‘Our NHS’ dictate what we do, where a health-ID card might be demanded, where only ‘test & trace’ is being done and yet again no time or resources made available for all other health issues.
