Where were the druids when we needed them …
Today should have been our Freedom Day. The covid emperors robbed us of that. It’s also the Summer Solstice today. A glimpse out of your windows shows that it must be true because there’s hardly any sun to be seen across these Isles. That is a common experience so we can rest assured that, covid or not, some things like rain on Summer Solstice still work.
Over the weekend the covid government has sent out some minor SAGEs and some spokespeople – it’s now Buggins’ turn to get their 15-minute-fame. The intrepid MSM covid reporters never seem to be able to connect the dots in that covid landscape. As for asking ‘cui bono’ – who benefits – nah, forget about it.
Dr Hopkins, PHE’s ‘strategic response director’ – don’t you just ‘ love all those highfalutin titles! – said that ‘a good goal to aim for would be 70% of the population to’ve had double jabs, by July 19th.
She and other lockdown fanatics disagreed with Prof Prof Brendan Wren, an expert in vaccinology (crikey – another ‘expert’!) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine who said that the current percentage of jabbees (81% with one, 59% with two jabs) was encouraging. Sadly he couldn’t have seen the covid hymn sheet because he still thought that, given more people coming forward to be jabbed might mean an opening on July 5th.
That number is certain to be reached because some antisocial media (TikTok, Snapchat) have signed up to the government plan to make more young people rush to get jabbed. The DM’s report (link) sadly didn’t tell us if money had changed hands.
There were some remarkable ‘news’ which show that one of the big winners in this ongoing covid ‘everybody must be jabbed’ campaign are the producers and implementers of tests. Hidden behind the ‘good news’ came a warning. The good news first:
“Just 89 of the 23,465 people who travelled into the UK from amber list countries at the end of last month and the start of this month had a negative Covid test, NHS Test and Trace shows. The cases all came from just 16 of the 167 countries on the amber list, according to the data. And there were no cases classed as being ‘variants of concern’ – Alpha, Beta, Delta or Gamma variants – the figures show. ” (link)
More ‘good’ news:
“Nobody travelling from countries on the quarantine-free “green list” — which includes 11 destinations at present — tested positive during the same period and there were no variants of concern found.” (link, paywalled)
Isn’t that just lovely! No wonder Sir Graham Brady, chair of the 1922 Committee, said that testing and jabbing are making international travel safer, and that it’s therefore time for “British people […] to reap the benefits of the vaccines and for us to get the travel industry moving again.” (link). However, there’s this warning which isn’t just about testing and quarantines for travellers but provides the basis for future lockdowns:
“The rate of positive tests from travellers from countries on the red list — which requires ten days of hotel quarantine — was more than four times as high as those from amber countries during the three-week period. Some 435 of the 24,511 people arriving from red list countries had coronavirus, or 1.8 per cent, with 89 variants of concern detected, according to NHS Test and Trace.” (link, paywalled)
As if to make doubly certain that “we” must remain in a constant state of fear, the covid government has let it be known that “not all of the positive cases had been sequenced, meaning variants could be detected at a later date or some could have slipped through without being spotted” (link, paywalled). Any bets that one of those ‘undetected’ variants will be deemed to be too horrible for words and prove that everybody, jabbed or not, must accept that there’ll be no such thing as ‘freedom’, ever again?
By now even the most credulous believer in the goodness of the covid empire must realise that the freedom we were promised, that the ‘positively no more lockdowns after this one’ message from BJ was so much hot air, that the SAGES and ‘covid experts’ are not going to release us.
After all, there’s this ‘reservoir’ of those ‘89 variants of concern’ of which we must be afraid. Didn’t it take weeks before PHE came out, officially, with the news that the jabs actually did protect against that Indian Delta variant? So expect more lockdowns in the autumn – the ‘experts’ are already warning that they’ll happen, and not just because of new ‘variants of concern’ but because, thanks to lockdowns, people haven’t developed resistance to the common cold and sniffle viruses.
There’s one lovely (not!) item of ‘hope’, sweetening the predicted winter lockdowns. After warning that there might be ‘winter lockdowns’ because of ‘overwhelmed’ hospitals, the PHE ‘expert’ who said that there’d be no freedom before July 19th because at least 70% of us need to be double jabbed, she said that there might be ‘alternative ways’ to manage such outbreaks:
“Through vaccination, through antivirals, through drugs, through testing that we didn’t have last winter and all of those things allow us different approaches rather than restrictions on lives and restrictions on livelihoods that will move us forward into the next phase of learning to live with this as an endemic, as something that happens as part of the respiratory viruses.” (link, paywalled)
Aww – golden uplands for the covid lemmings! Mind you – its news to me that we had ‘no testing’ last winter. The point is though that “we” must learn to live with continuous testing, with muzzles and all and then become less fearful and learn to accept covid as part of normal life.
t’s not going to happen, not when vested interests need to rake in their money. These are not just Big Pharma with more and ‘improved’ jabs – haven’t “we” shown that we accept jabs as freedom passports’? – these are the test manufacturers and the testing centres, the labs and of course the NHS tracers.
Thus the demands from MPs make sense, namely to make those tests cheaper, by price caps or VAT exemption Of course, they also demand a better NHS app, showing the jab status of people – and use this as ‘international travel pass’ which should also show test results (link). It’s generous to make tests cheaper when everybody must test themselves on a daily basis.
One has to admire the blatant demand of these MPs to exempt tests from VAT when we’re told that Sunak is pondering ways to ‘claw back’ some of the money he spent with abandon, for example by tinkering with the current tax regimes for pensions (paywalled link).
Regardless of being good covid lemmings, getting two jabs, muzzling up and using that T & T app, there’ll be no freedom, not if our female MPs have anything to do with it, and not if the Hancock empire can ‘sell’ us this eternal test regime. After all, the covid government doesn’t trust us one little bit. For example, “we” could have picked up some new variant which may be unnoticed in the countries people have travelled to but which is bound to overwhelm that Sacred Cow or make us all die like flies.
One wonders when it will dawn on the covid lemmings that their demand to travel to holiday destinations means that the prize for that ‘freedom’ is eternal testing for which they’ll have to pay themselves. When will they recognise the eternal threat of even the vestiges of freedom being taken away when the covid empire wants to, for example by detecting the latest ‘dangerous covid variant’, probably imported by those travel-obsessed cold lemmings.
I suggest that they’ll only wake up once their wallets are severely affected. It’ll be too late then. Enjoy the gloomy Summer Solstice as best you can.

Absolutely incredible speech by Johnson that “never have so many people owed so much to ….science. Thanks to science and the jabs, we have regained all our freedoms and happiness”. Sunny uplands now await now most people have been jabbed. And more scientific wonders to come, with more frankenstein experiments on the way and oodles of lovely money going to scientific outfits etc.

On Saturday, in Sloane Square of all places, I met a drunken Scotsman and his wife who had come down for the football. We struck up a conversation, notwithstanding that I usually avoid drunk Scots football supporters. But, he was a jovial fellow and there was a meeting of minds! We ended by agreeing to foment so far as possible civil disobedience if all liberty is not returned by 19 July. An Anglo-Scottish alliance that was as heartening as it was surprising. It was heartening because I met someone like minded outside my circle of the ‘usual suspects’ and surprising because instead of recreating Bannockburn or Flodden we found an ally in each other. From such acorns….
If hospitals become overwhelmed I am more likely to believe that it will be because of adverse effects of vaccines! The MPs all seem to be fully up behind this totalitarian horror. Dr Helen Westwood wrote a very succinct and well laid out letter to Graham Brady. Surely as chairman of the 1922 Committee he should know better than anyone what the general mood is amongst ‘CONservative’ MPs. Yet he still does very little to rein in the sofa government that is Boris Johnson. Even the Speaker of the House of Cards has more bark than bite!

Freedom will never arrive unless something cataclysmic occurs to upset the current status quo. Whether that will come sooner or later rather depends upon the level of adverse reactions that reach the public consciousness! The ‘rush’ for jabs amongst the young has left me feeling hopeless and angry in equal measure! I do not blame them per se. They have been the victims of an education system that has encouraged them to lean heavily on technology and believe everything that they are fed through government propaganda. Thus they have no reserves of common senses with which to question, question, question!

Yesterday I began my own ‘freedom’ mission. I walked into the supermarket unmasked. I did my shopping without challenge. The girl on the till chattered away to me in the most friendly fashion. I walked out feeling ten feet tall and ‘free’! Later I told my son (a 90% believer about to take the jab!!!) He asked if I was challenged. I told him no. When I said I had printed the exempt card off the governments own website he replied that, if that was the case, it all made no sense whatsoever! QED!
