The Whitehall Mandarins’ puppet

 

Is Matt-the-Han only ‘fluffing useless’ or is there something more sinister going on? One news item today, ‘exclusive’ to the DT, simply begged that question. That’s why I had to break my ‘never on Sunday’ rule. Rest assured – no mugs were broken and I’ve come down from swinging on the non-existent chandelier.

This is what happened: Hancock ‘sat on positive vaccine data’ for three whole days – data of which the PM, Sunak and Gove were left in ignorance at the meeting last Sunday when they decided to prolong the lockdown restrictions (my emphasis)

“Matt Hancock failed to tell Boris Johnson about a major Public Health England (PHE) study showing the effectiveness of vaccines against the Indian or delta variant during a key meeting to decide whether to extend Covid restrictions, The Telegraph can disclose. The Telegraph understands that the Health Secretary had known about the PHE data three days before the “quad” of four senior ministers, led by the Prime Minister, met last Sunday to decide whether to postpone the planned June 21 reopening until July 19.” (paywalled link)

Well! How is that for a covid government which keeps bleating that they rely on ‘data’? There are other little puzzle pieces that came to light as the ‘sources’ spoke to the DT, for example:

“Multiple sources familiar with the meeting said it was not raised by Mr Hancock or discussed at all during the course of the talks. The data was also not included in briefing papers given to Mr Johnson, Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor and Michael Gove, the Cabinet Office minister, in advance of the meeting.” (paywalled link)

There’s more: Hancock was apparently briefed about the results presented in the PHE study on Thursday 10th June and was given the whole analysis on Saturday June 12th. On the evening of that day the G7 were treated to that infamous open-air, no masks, no social distancing barbecue. 

Here’s the first ‘rescue Hancock’ attempt by his handlers in the DHSC who told the DT that these data had been emailed to those concerned at 3pm on that Sunday, a few hours before the meeting took place, so there!

On Saturday Mr Johnson hosted a brief virtual meeting of the quad (that’s himself, Gove, Sunak and Hancock) while at the G7 meeting. Hancock however had allegedly been briefed, i.e. he’d been given that important PHE analysis before that virtual meeting . Had he not read it, withholding this important analysis out of pure ignorance? More sinister: did his handlers not brief him properly, by providing him with some pre-chewed summary? If not – why not? There’s one other entity to consider when looking at that Sunday Robbery meeting:

“Sources close to members of the “quad” also said they were not provided with the usual explanations that accompany modelling by Sage scientists presented at the meeting, which showed that a June 21 reopening would lead to a large resurgence in hospital admissions. A source close to the “quad” said: “They were presented with the [Sage] data without the assumptions that it was based on.” Members of the quad were said to be “very annoyed”. The claim was denied by other Government sources.” (paywalled link)

Well, these other ‘government sources’ would deny that, wouldn’t they! Those ‘government sources’ also told the DT:

“A Government source insisted that “equivalent data” to the PHE study was shown to the quad. The “equivalent” data was said to have been drawn up by Sage’s Scientific Pandemic Influenza Group on Modelling (Spi-M) and to have included similar figures to the PHE’s findings on the efficacy of the vaccines. The source said: “When the decision was made to delay, ministers knew that the vaccines work. That is why we are buying more time to get more jabs in arms.” (paywalled link)

Getting ‘more jabs in arms’ is pure Hancock propaganda! ‘Tis a nice diversion from clarifying what is meant by ‘equivalent data’. I suggest that they were cooked up to push the vaccine campaign and weren’t even close to ‘equivalent’. 

Meanwhile Steve Baker is wondering out loud if Hancock did this deliberately, to ‘bounce’ the BJ covid government into prologing lockdown restrictions. He also made this interesting admission regarding the time that email was sent:

“To send an email so late in the day is an act of opposition. It’s the sort of thing we do to Labour MPs before appearing in their constituencies to campaign. It’s not what a Health Secretary should do to a Prime Minister.”  (paywalled link)

Well, if Hancock is nought but a shifty politician with a wide streak of low cunning, then yes, he would do that! Rounding up, here’s the sniffy, official ‘clarification’ given by a spokesman from the Hancock DHSC in an attempt to rescue their useful idiot, sorry, their minister:

“any suggestion that Mr Hancock “bounced” Mr Johnson was “categorically untrue”. He added: “Information which was provided by PHE was shared across Government before the meeting. Analysis and work on the scientific paper continued over the weekend before it was published as soon as it was ready on Monday.” (paywalled link)

Does this mean that even more covid mandarins knew about those data – and said nothing? How very interesting! Can we assume that they also refrained from briefing their ministers? I think we can!

There is one other point to be made, forcefully, which the usual suspects in the Westminster covid bubble seem to have forgotten. In the run-up to this ‘quad’ meeting the MSM were full of speculation that there would have to be an extension, thanks to the leaks provided by their wonderful Whitehall sources who were clearly pushing for that extension. We’ll not forget or forgive! 

We can ask if ‘sources’, a.k.a. civil serpents, conveniently forgot to brief their puppet, Matt-the-Han. Moreover, it begs the question: did SAGE ‘knew’ – if not, why not? – and if that’s the reason they were apparently extremely frugal in providing data to “data-not-dates BJ”, omitting to give him reasons for not extending restrictions beyond Freedom Day. Moreover, we can now ask if other data have been withheld by the usual suspects, this covid cabal.

For me, two important points arise from this ‘exclusive’.  One is that, again, we see the fingerprints of unelected Whitehall mandarins all over this ‘extension event’. Withholding data from a minister before an important decision must be made is totally unacceptable. 

The other point is this: Hancock is clearly being manipulated by his DHSC mandarins who must be overjoyed that they have been gifted with such a hollow vessel, such dumb politician who only excels at low political cunning but who can regurgitate perfectly the ‘briefings’ they give him. That’s why they rush to his defence, that’s why they’re propping him up.

It is unacceptable that such person has been raised to such political prominence. If BJ wants to retrieve a shred of plausibility he must sack him – now. I’m sure Hancock could pursue a lovely new career as actor, given his various performances during these covid times!

And finally: what does it say about the state of our country when mental dwarves can rise to the top of the political greasy poles? Are they being sustained at the top by secretive mandarins, with the help of the Westminster MSM who also dance to the tune of those mandarins, their fists being filled with our money to propagate mandarin propaganda? 

It surely is now time to ditch muzzles and laugh in the faces of the covid stasi and their enablers in this covid government. Why should we believe a word they say any longer?
