Wuhan: now ‘back to ‘normal’ normal …’ – why?

You may have heard that President Donald Trump has been infected with the virus. ‘Our MSM’ are heaving with articles about him, about who ‘gave’ it to him, about him being ‘in hospital’, and are salivating at the prospect of getting Joe Biden into the White House. I’m not going to touch this whole packet of ‘news’, except to note that, as if by a miracle, ‘covid fear&hysteria news’ regarding our own country seem to have vanished into thin air.

The ‘case’ of the SNP politician who knew she was ill, who lied about it, who travelled the length of the country on a train – from Scotland to London and back to Scotland – that’s no longer newsworthy. Ah, but Nicola was ‘very angry’, telling her to resign from her seat in the HoC, that’s ok then: no need to talk about it any more. Compare and contrast with the ‘case’ of Dominic Cummings … ah, but ‘that was different’!

There’s one piece of ‘covid news’ though which is rather interesting. No, ‘tisn’t Hancock in the headlines although he ought to be – it’s about test&trace being in difficulties. This comes under ‘but we were promised that ‘Moonshot’ and now it ain’t happening’. Apparently, ‘Our MSM’ are populated by little brats who whine when their ‘desire’ isn’t fulfilled immediately. How come they are not complaining that BJ and his covid government is governing us by PR slogans rather than necessity?

Thus The Times has a report ‘from the frontline’, by an ‘investigative reporter’ who intrepidly dared to work ‘undercover’ in one of the testing centres. His findings are indeed interesting:

“Patients told by their GP to get a coronavirus test are being turned away at testing sites even when there is capacity to deal with them, a Times investigation has revealed. Some are operating at a fifth of their previous capacity as Whitehall officials restrict the number of tests they can do because of problems processing the results at government laboratories.” (link, paywalled)

Are we given any proof at all that ‘Whitehall officials’ are the culprits, restricting those test numbers, rather than the directors who run those test sites?  Oh yes there is ‘proof’ – the remark by one staff member surely is sufficient! The investigative undercover reporter writes:

“The site had carried out up to 500 tests a day but staff are now being given a daily quota. […] One staff member said the government was controlling “how many appointments they send out per hour per day per site and that’s based on, I think, how many they can get through the labs”. She added: “They change their minds. There’s no consistency to it.”  (link, paywalled)

That’s it! No further proof needed, no questions being asked, for example if perhaps there aren’t enough test kits and why that might be the case. Instead we’re given this quote:

“Chris Hopson, chief executive of NHS Providers, which represents NHS trusts, said: “The government and those running NHS Test and Trace should be honest about any operational problems they are facing . . . and what that means for those who need a test.” […] NHS labs were doing all they could “but the whole system has to work”.  (link, paywalled)

Good point, even though I suspect getting such answers from “Our NHS’ is like trying to get blood from a stone. But let’s not investigate the shortcomings of ‘Our Holy Cow’. Test&trace, run by Hancock’s department, is ‘Whitehall red in tooth and claw’, in contrast to ‘Our NHS’ which after all is ‘doing all it can’ and by definition cannot and must not be criticised.

In addition, the fabulous new ‘Lighthouse Labs’ which were supposed to be available now – aren’t! The Times has an accompanying article on test labs. It’s quite astonishing:

“In a press release at the start of last month, the Department of Health and Social Care boasted that the lab would have testing capacity before the winter and would be open “by the end of September”. However, no staff have yet been hired and potential applicants have been told they will not start before the last week in October.” (link, paywalled)

I am wondering when ‘Our MSM’ will start connecting the dots in regard to test&trace which they have so vehemently propagated as the ‘cure’ for covid, never mind the question about false-positive tests. ‘Our MSM’ seem to be infected with ‘magical thinking’, and accordingly expect ‘Our NHS’, ahem, Hancock’s department, to wave a wand and lo and behold: labs spring up everywhere, personnel and test kits are available in abundance!

Remember that the test kits used are from a Belgian firm – and that Belgium has now stopped collating ‘case numbers’ produced by tests and is only counting hospital admissions. Now see this:

“The Charnwood and Newport labs are being run for the government by Perkin Elmer, the US company that is advertising for positions at the sites. A recruitment agency working with Perkin Elmer told a reporter posing as a prospective applicant that the earliest possible start date would be October 26 and that no one had yet been hired for the Charnwood site. “We haven’t started interview processes yet,” he said. “All the roles are still available”. The recruiter said some staff would not start work until November. A security guard at the gates of the Charnwood campus confirmed that the NHS lab was not yet operational.” (link, paywalled)

So are they or are they not ‘NHS labs’? Is Hancock riding herd on those firms and if not – why not? Is it because: “private enterprise” and thus removed from his influence, allowing him to wash his hands in innocence? Regarding that Newport lab – ‘run for the government’, as reported above – we read:

“It was due to open in August but will not be operational until next month. Public Health Wales has said it was being slowed by recruitment issues and the need for tests to validate laboratory processes.” (link, paywalled)

Ah – Wales! That Labour fiefdom, run by Labour since devolution twenty-odd years ago … Could these ‘recruitment issues’ be due to ‘diversity issues’, or with the need to be strictly bi-lingual? Never mind – here’s one explanation for the test fiasco, taken at face value by The Times:

“[…] existing Lighthouse labs struggle with a backlog of samples and growing demand for tests.” (link, paywalled)

Yes, it has to be “our fault”, for demanding so many tests that they have to be rationed, just as the shortage of flu jabs is “our fault” – never that of ‘Our MSM’ which have done their utmost to keep us all in fear and despondency with their reports that “we” must test, or that getting flu and covid together is a death sentence. Also, let’s not wonder if the various local lockdowns and the ‘work from home’ set-ups might have anything to do with backlogs.

I leave you with an astonishing report – again in the Times. It has the headline “Booming Wuhan is full of smiles again” (link, paywalled) and the author is actually writing from Wuhan:

“The Chinese city that was the epicentre of the outbreak is booming again, with airlines adding flights to accommodate a surge of travellers for the first extended public holiday since January 23, when it was shut down as the outbreak raged among its 11 million people. Six months after the city lifted its shutdown, Wuhan is throbbing with life again. Streets are decked in Chinese flags to mark National Day and to show pride at having prevailed over the virus.” […] The city has been officially free of coronavirus since June 4. Social distancing rules and the requirement to wear a mask remain in place but are not rigorously enforced. (link, paywalled)

How is that possible? Why is there no ‘second Wave’? China, after all, is in the Northern hemisphere, is it not, like we are. But it’s not just Wuhan – it’s all of China which is apparently ‘virus-free’:

“Across the country, the Chinese people are celebrating their return to normality by going out in droves during the eight-day public holiday. Nearly 15,000 flights took off on Thursday, the first day of the holiday, and drivers viewed the traffic jams as a sign that the pandemic had been beaten back. There were 15 million train travellers on Thursday, and the rail authorities expected a further 11 million yesterday.” (link, paywalled)

What is going on? Why are there no ‘rising case numbers’? Why are the Chinese not scared of that 2nd wave, of ‘spikes’? Are they, God forbid, perhaps no longer testing&tracing? Perhaps the Chinese MSM were told to stop fear-mongering?

Of course, one would like to know why China is working on a vaccine when they have already ‘conquered the virus’ … a virus which is known for its uncanny abilities, from being able to stop infecting people before 10pm to circumventing face nappies. Now it stops at the borders of a whole country, just like that? Amazing!

Please do not, under any circumstances, mention ‘herd immunity’! That’s a very bad expression! Using it would undermine the sterling efforts of Big Pharma and the governments in the Western world who think of introducing mandated vaccination and even vaccine passports – I am looking at you, Tobias Ellwood MP!

Finally, don’t ask if this whole test lab fiasco and the rationing of tests might provide a handy excuse for our covid government to keep us longer in lockdowns, local or otherwise. China? That’s at the other end of the world … disregard …!

KBO!
