First break your promise, then apologise

 

Once upon a time there was a comunist dictator in a small country which had a border with a rich capitalist country. One day he told his people and the western media: “Nobody thinks of building a wall” at that border. Two months later, that wall was built and stood for nearly 30 years. That was in the summer of 1961.

I was reminded of this type of ‘reassurance’ when I scanned today’s covid headlines. ‘There won’t be a covid passport’, said Gove a few months ago. ‘Nobody is planning to have a covid passport’, said the ‘vaccine minister’, Zahavi, in February this year.

Now BJ tells us that such passport, in the form of yon NHS app, will be introduced as he and his SAGE handlers are reluctantly handing our some sort of freedom next Monday. Ah – but it’s all going to be ‘voluntary’, see, that’s the difference, and why shouldn’t pubs and shops ask you to show that you’re ‘clean’, that you’ve been a good little covid lemming and have taken your jabs.

Toby Young labelled this announcement ‘a way station, not the ‘terminus’ BJ promised a scant few weeks ago (link). But why would BJ care about his earlier pronouncements: they’re soo yesterday! Of course, “we” can prevent BJ having to take back even this meagre ‘freedom’  by being ’extra cautious’, by behaving as if the lifting of restrictions never happened. In any case, the covid government will review the data on the 30th of September at the latest (link). One doesn’t need to be a modern-day Nostradamus to predict what will happen: back to lockdown, you unruly plebs!

Meanwhile, the SAGEs are preparing us for a return to the covid jail because their models predict that hospital admissions might rise to ‘at least 1,000’ a day (paywalled link) or even, depending on which SAGE is the preferred go-to prophet of doom, to 4,800 and a predicted 200 covid deaths per day (link, paywalled). 

All the gloom-and-lockdown prophets and their helpers in the MSM never explain why this should happen when more and more Brits have been jabbed and double-jabbed. Do the jabs not work then? Or is it the case that the covid propagandists have happily allowed the false impression to take root in people’s minds that the jabs will make them immune, as ordinary vaccinations do? They never emphasise that these jabs are only reducing the risk of severe illness when one catches the virus! We did get to see this though (my emphasis):

“Symptomatic cases among unvaccinated Brits fell by 2.4 per cent, from 20,973 on July 5 to 20,487 on July 6. But the number of vaccinated adults —who make up 87.2 per cent of the population — falling ill with the virus is still rising. Another 12,905 vaccinated Brits were estimated to have caught Covid on July 6, meaning nearly half of all cases are now among the jabbed.” (link)

How is this possible? How can double-jabbed people fall ill with covid? Why must an epidemiologist point this out – where are the clinicians, the medics, who stand up and shout ‘the covid emperors are nekkid’? And what about the side effects carefully brushed under the carpets by the MSM, here or in the USA? Do we not hear about them because the MSM have had their mouths stuffed with government cash or with ‘financial support’ from various Gates-run NGOs? 

Ah – but the MSM have other fish to fry. One biggie is racism. At a time when the world’s and indeed our own economy is struggling thanks to covid there’s Jamaica. Their lawmakers are going to demand reparations from Britain, to the modern-day equivalent of the amount given to slave owners after slavery became illegal in the British Empire. ‘Tis only a cool £7.6 bn (paywalled link). I wonder how much we’ve paid out in aid to Jamaica during the nearly 50 years of their independence … forget that, though. In the climate of wokery, we’ll surely pay because there’s a:

“growing acknowledgement in some quarters of the role played by slavery in generating wealth in Britain, with businesses and seats of learning pledging financial contributions in compensation. They include insurance market, Lloyd’s of London, pub owner Greene King, and the University of Glasgow.” (paywalled link)

Perhaps the next step in this race to look more woke than woke will be a demand that all of us, as represented by the government and the Queen, should apologise for slavery, as if only we, not any other country, ever kept slaves. The inconvenient fact that it was the Royal Navy who enforced an end to the slave trade is of course irrelevant. 

After all, hasn’t the Archbishop of Canterbury just apologised for the antisemitism in the Church of England in the 13th Century? He refers to a synod in 1222 where the church:

“implemented decrees from Rome that forced Jews to wear clothing to distinguish them from Christians, to ensure that no Christian could marry a Jew by mistake.” (link, paywalled)

The irony, that the current covid ‘laws’ aim to create just such a distinction between jabbed and non-jabbed, seems to escape the learned bishop. Will we have to wait 800 years before some future SAGE or some bishop will stand up and apologise, never mind denounce this injustice? Do they think a ‘not jabbed mark’ is ok because it’s not racist? 

Perhaps it’s time for us to take a stand like a certain English footballer is doing. He ‘experienced racial abuse’ in the social media after he missed that penalty goal kick. He told the combined MSM that he’ll “never apologise for who I am”. Good for him.

Why then should we present-day Brits apologise for who we are? Explanations on a postcard, if you would …
