A test a day keeps the covid away …
You wanna have some good news? Just look at today’s MSM headlines and be happy! The Lockdown will end, yes really! In July! Aren’t we lucky! And the Covid Politburo is designing ‘a roadmap’ for the opening of pubs and restaurants – owners of such establishments clearly can’t be trusted to do it themselves. Such good news! And there’ll be more people to be told they must shield! Isn’t our government true caring! And we can and must all do our bit! No, not just by getting the jab – by doing more testing! How fabulous! Apologies if you’ve just spilled whatever drink you had to hand. I’ve only done what millions of our fellow citizens do: I’ve only scanned the top headlines in this morning’s papers.
Delving into it, here’s the real story: lockdowns won’t end, ever – because the SAGE puppet in No 10 says he’ll only let us out when ‘daily covid cases are in their hundreds rather than their thousands’. In their Newsletter this morning, Lockdown Sceptics quotes the relevant article in the DT (paywalled link), commenting as follows:
“1,000 a day is about 1.5 per 100,000 population. This is well below the threshold of 10 per 100,000 for lifting lockdown that even Zero Covid proponents call for. It is in other words a Zero Covid strategy, and an extreme version of it at that.” (link)
As you might have suspected, this goal can only be achieved with much testing. Read the whole article, as a proper ‘refresher course’ on testing, before you digest the plan now being rolled out by “Our Sacred Cow” (my emphasis):
“NHS Test and Trace is preparing for nationwide “surge” testing under which more than 400,000 rapid lateral flow tests will be sent by post to homes and workplaces every day, […]. The aim is to get the country to “a new normal”. A campaign provisionally called “Are you ready? Get testing. Go” will begin before schools return, to encourage people to have a test even when they do not show symptoms.” (link, paywalled)
We don’t need to wonder who is paying for all those test kit – we know it’ll be us. We should ask though if there are sufficient labs and lab technicians to process all those tests. Let’s not worry about false +tests, let’s not worry about people being told by the NHS T&T app to self-quarantine for two weeks or ten days. Let’s not ask how the economy is supposed to recover when industries cannot be sure, day to day, if their workers will be available. But that’s just the ordinary economy – far more important would be to know if the lab workers processing those tests won’t be affected as well so that the one-test-a-day drive will fall flat on its proverbial face because so many workers are forced to self-isolate, just as NHS front staff was forced to.
But that’s for the future. Here’s the reason why the Covid Politburo has come up with this scheme – it is, as you’ve suspected, simply to “Protect” you-know what. ‘Hospital bosses’, writes the Times, have warned BJ that it’s too dangerous to ease the current lockdown before the end of May (link, paywalled). What about those local elections due to take place in May? Nah – who needs such democratic exercise: it can all be done by postal voting, and never mind that vote counters might also have to self-isolate suddenly so that such count will drag on and on. Who needs democracy when “we” must fight covid! There’s more:
“Chris Hopson, chief executive of the hospitals’ group NHS Providers, is urging Johnson to meet four tests before easing restrictions: a significant reduction in cases and hospital patients, vaccination of all over-50s and the ability of Test and Trace to carry out rapid genomic sequencing in the hunt for dangerous new variants.” (link, paywalled)
Take note of the brief remark about ‘hunting for dangerous new variants’. I’ll get back to that below. Meanwhile, we can watch, before our eyes, the evolution of the blueprint for a ‘health dictatorship’, driven by the NHS. Everybody is suspected to be ill, to be a covid leper, regardless of vaccines, until they can prove otherwise. That care home companies are already developing a ‘no jab- no job’ strategy (link) is just another step towards that goal. They’ll get away with it because ‘you don’t want to kill granny’ – and never mind that granny has been vaccinated and should therefore be immune! Meanwhile, the WFH scheme will stay in force (link) even after whatever lockdown restrictions have been ‘eased’.
Professor John Lee has written a fulminating article on this issue (link) which you ought to read in full. He uses government numbers which make this latest BJ plan redundant, placing the NHS scare mongering into ‘Absurdistan’, right now:
“The latest figures show deaths have more than halved from their January high. And, crucially, death rates are falling twice as quickly in the over-80s — those who have been vaccinated — as in the over-65s, most of whom are still waiting for the jab. The statistics are irrefutable. The infection rate is now 142 cases per 100,000 people, the lowest for four months.Deaths among the over-80s in English hospitals have fallen by more than 50 per cent since the peak on January 21.” (link)
If ‘case numbers’ are nearly as low already as demanded by BJ – why must this lockdown farce continue? Because Lockdown Freedom for us means loss of dictatorial power for the SAGEs and the NHS bosses! It means loss of income for the test kit makers. It means loss of control over us for the ‘behaviourists’ in the nudge unit. It’s they who’ve been working, from the start, at turning us into frightened lemmings, scared to step out not just “because: covid!” but because of the covid stasi roaming our public spaces to enforce ridiculous ‘rulz’. Here’s professor Lees’ concluding paragraph:
“There is no good scientific reason to continue the lockdown as the Government plans. The rescinding of restrictions should start as soon as possible.” (link)
Amen to that! Rounding up, here’s one last reason why I predict that we’ll live in a lockdown society forever: covid mutants. Remember that the NHS bosses are urging BJ to step up the ‘hunt for dangerous mutants’? The Kent mutant was discovered through T&T, as was the SA one. While I congratulate the sequencing scientists to their outstanding work, I also recall that SAGE and BJ used their discovery to institute the pre-Christmas lockdowns because ‘this is dangerous, it’s spreading’ – even though they said at the time they didn’t know much about it.
The same applies to the SA mutant which was ‘a killer’, allegedly, and against which the fabulous vaccines were powerless. It’s this mutant and the Brazilian one – about which we’ve heard nothing more – which made BJ and the governments of countries across Europe panic and sharpen their lockdowns. Here, as we all know, ‘Red Zone’ travellers are being locked down in ’Hotel Quarantines’, to stop the spread.
However – nobody knows for how long those and other mutants have been around before their discovery. Have they really fallen from the sky, suddenly, just in time to support SAGE’s demand for ‘moar lockdown’? It seems reasonable to me to ask if these mutants haven’t been around for some time before. How else to explain that suddenly other countries ‘discovered’ that this Kent variety had already ‘spread’ through their countries, without asking how this was possible when since so many people in so many countries had been locked down already.
I’m asking this question because, given the latest ‘T&T’ campaign by ‘Our NHS’, we can be certain that new mutants will be discovered. It’s the ancient principle, already mentioned in the Bible, of ‘seek and ye shall find‘. We can assume with some certainty, given the experiences of the last few months, that any new discoveries will be used to keep lockdowns going in perpetuity, to make us comply with perpetual mass vaccinations. “We” want to be protected against those dangerous, latest varieties, don’t we!
It’s futile to expect any medical professors, any doctors, to stand up and protest. Even eminent, retired professors won’t be given a platform except in places such as Lockdown Sceptics where you’ll find this article by Ramesh Thakur. He is ‘only’ an Emeritus Professor at the Australian National University and a former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, so what does he know …!
I leave you with the question of why “we” are so supine in this country when people in the former Eastern Bloc nations are disregarding their government strictures, defiantly opening shops, restaurants, theatres, going out as if there’s no covid. I suggest it’s because they remember life under a dictatorship and aren’t prepared to give up the freedom they’ve achieved.
Do we really have so little regard for our own freedom and civil liberties? Have we become so placid that we think ‘government’ will do what’s right and we better knuckle under? Have we become mentally incapable of even contemplating civil disobedience?

“granny has been vaccinated and should therefore be immune ” More likely Granny has been killed by the vaccine. They’re dropping like flies in care homes after vaccination. I knew someone 103 years old who had more mileage in him but he went in a care home because he could not see well enough to look after himself. Within 10 days, last week in fact, he was dead. What did they do to him ? !!!!!
This Govt mantra “Dont kill Granny” is a hypocritical lie. I understand the FT I think it was , was more or less boasting about how much money they’d saved in pensions
Re Compliance – or not!
The only thing I think I can do, right now, is to not wear “a face covering” wherever they are demanded. In the ultra-small print there is the get-out clause . . . “unless you are exempt under the gov’t guidelines”.
Please see the Government website, re “Covid-19 restrictions”. There you will find that a person has only to affirm their physical, or mental, circumstances that cause them to be unable to wear a mask. They do not have to have an official medical opinion . . .
So, I am saying to the shops that I have a respiratory problem (which I do, albeit not officially documented).
The Gov’t website goes on to illustrate & provide a template asserting that the bearer is exempt, for anyone to download, and print out .

I have not complied with any diktats or listened intentionally to anything the Government or it’s advisors have said but I am now retired and have no power to rebel. I would gladly help anybody who was serious about dealing with this mess with crowdfunding but cannot see anybody who is in a position to to this. As has been rightly said, Nigel Farage and Dr. Coleman et al point out all what is wrong with this country but nobody is listening. What can we actually do?

There is crowdfunding to help heroes like the hairdresser in Yorkshire who refused to close. But a better way to support her (not something you or I could do admittedly, and a very tall order) would have been for business owners to follow suit and refuse to close.

A bit similar here Lisa. I even half wear a mask to go into the local shop. They are very sensible so I’m not going to cause any embarrassment to them, quite apart from, I’d starve without them.

The chief buffoon has spoken, lockdown release will not be subject to dates or the parlous state of the economy, but solely down to data whether it be flawed or otherwise I will not say prime minister, because he is anything but a prime minister, and has no leadership skills whatsoever as far as I can detect He does what he is told and is just mere a puppet and mouthpiece for these faceless Covid dictators who seem to rule the roost these days. So much for democracy it no longer seems to exist Ordinarily we would be able to demonstrate our frustrations over government in street protests, but this like so aspects of our former lives have been criminalised and forbidden not by democratic debate in parliament, but just on the say so of one or two members of the cabinet. Sooner or later the chief buffoon will fall, and I hope that when he does, he will be taken to task in the courts over his handling of this Covid farce. We have to be rid of Johnson very soon otherwise he will destroy this country and everything it has stood for forever. His party needs to be soundly humiliated this coming May in the local elections. Only then will they sit up and take notice. The sorry saga is so so depressing…

Have street protests been totally banned? I would not be physically able to take part but I thought within ‘the rules’ they could still happen and I wish more of them were happening.
I can’t put my finger on anything specific but I have a feeling the buffoon will be toppled by his own party, the local elections just might be the catalyst.
If all these test and trace gadgets are rolled out – what happens if everyone chucks them in the bin?

Something else crossing my mind – since the common cold is a covid virus, strikes me the mad dictators are now intent on exterminating the common cold before they let us out.
The reason it will be difficult to end this nonsense is that few people analyse what they are told by ‘influencers’, MSM, politicians and the great and good. None of those deserve our trust of course, but it’s a habit by now.

Only an almost terminally gullible public would accept the end of the world preaching by Gummer, Thunberg, Hanson, Schmidt et al more than 1%, or would submit to the carbon narrative when the UK produces barely more than 1% of the stuff while India and China keep merrily building coal power plants.
