A Happy New Year to all our readers and contributors – may it be a better, healthier one than the last two years.
It seems such a long time ago that we had fun, trying to predict what might happen in a New Year. Once we looked at milestones for our country such as Brexit – to be achieved and then to celebrate. Once we had some vestiges of trust in the probity and good will of our elected representatives. That has evaporated during the last two years.
The trust in the good will of those who actually run this country, the Whitehall mandarins, had already been shaken before the start of the covid years – now it has been shattered. Trust in the professional ethos of the MSM had already been eroded before the covid years but our experiences since then have now demolished that trust utterly. Yes, there are some few journalists who try and adhere to their professional standards but they are few and far between. We’ve learned to despise the propaganda arm, the unofficial ‘ministry of truth’ those formerly so fiercely independent institutions have become.
Also, thanks to the unmitigated propaganda of the MSM for lefty ‘ideals’ like woke and climate extremism that our trust in our other national institutions has been destroyed. From the defence of the realm to the education of our children and youths, from looking after our built heritage to the countryside: our trust has gone. Worse: thanks to SAGE, their nudges and their covid ‘measures’, supported uncritically by said MSM, our trust in the medical profession has been shattered.
But it’s not all gloom and doom – to the contrary! This insidious destruction of our institutions has taught us, the people, the despised peasants, the plebs who should not be seen or heard, that we can speak up, that we have voices which we can make to be heard, that there are people whom we can trust to tell us the truth which the government and its accretions don’t want us to hear. We’ve learned to question and we’ve learned to stand up for ourselves, in big and small acts of defiance and civil disobedience, from refusing to muzzle up to using our common sense, to talking amongst ourselves about news the powerful would suppress.
Above all, we’ve learned who our true friends are, our comrades in arms (in the old, non-lefty sense!), our colleagues. We’ve learned to use our own minds, to question the propaganda which is being dished out and we have learned to read between the lines of the ‘news’ the mighty are trying to dazzle us with. These are skills which we will need in 2022, which we must keep exercising.
So, on this very first day of 2022, here’s a brief look at the proverbial straws in the wind which give a hint of what might occupy us in this new year. Yes, there’s still covid, and the covid emperors are desperate to show that they’ve still got a grip on our collective throats even as we now all know that their numbers are manipulated concoctions of false models and statistics. It’s more WFH to ‘save’ the Sacred Cow because ‘hospitalisations are rising (paywalled link) while only a third of patients in England are being treated primarily for covid (paywalled link).
There’s the looming disaster for the Sacred Cow and indeed the economy thanks to the huge number of workers self-isolating thanks to T & T, a quarantine from which they cannot ‘test’ themselves ‘free’ because there aren’t any tests. This whole scandal is too bizarre for words:
“In the early months of 2021, ministers called a halt to months of work with British companies that had been intended to establish an onshore manufacturing capability for the rapid Covid tests. The result has left the UK relying on securing Chinese-made kits, with the devices currently unavailable in many parts of the country.” (paywalled link)
It turns out that they did this because a NGO, called ‘The Good Law Project’, a Remain group which tried to scupper Brexit by ‘lawfare’, has
“[…] launched cases opposing government policy on Brexit and, more recently, against procurement decisions in the pandemic response. The scrutiny has contributed to a criticism of a “chumocracy” against senior ministers,” (paywalled link)
You couldn’t make it up: government ministers are scared of ‘lawfare’ and ditch projects to manufacture vital covid tests, preferring our money to go to China! Yes, chumocracy is bad – but is the ‘Common Purpose Chumocracy’ which pervades all our national institutions any better? What about the latest ‘aristocrat’ of chumocracy, a certain T. Blair who is now being ‘ennobled’ in the New Year’s Honours list (link)? Funny, isn’t it, how Labour leaders who’ve always been busy to denigrate the aristocracy are nevertheless happy to become ‘Sir’ and ‘Lord’ … hypocrites one and all.
They are as hypocritical as the green ‘climate catastrophe warriors’. Make no mistake: the green ‘agenda’ will become as critical for our national wellbeing as covid has. The Westminster swamp dwellers, from No 10 to Whitehall and the newsrooms of the MSM firmly believe that the instruments they’ve developed during the two covid years are suitable instruments to coerce us into their ‘green paradise’. See this scandalous example, right at the start to 2022:
“About 100,000 solar panels will be installed on a 75-acre site near the village of Spetisbury, with a view to providing 50 megawatts of electricity – enough to service 15,000 homes. But the green energy generated by the vast site erected on Dorset’s rolling countryside will not service local homes. Instead it will be directed to the City of London, where it will power Square Mile landmarks like the Gherkin and the Guildhall.” (paywalled link)
Who needs land to grow food when we can import it! Even the chairman of the Dorset CPRE, Rupert Hardy, still has to bend his knee to the ‘green god’:
“We opposed the plans because of the impact on countryside and the farmland in the area. That land should be used to provide food for Dorset, not electricity for London. We would far prefer energy produced in our county to be used here, especially when it is desecrating our beautiful landscape.” (paywalled link)
Clearly, he’d not moan if this solar farm would only power Dorset homes! The prize for green inanity goes to a local Tory councillor who said:
“The reality is that farming and the way we farm has changed. Farmers once harvested light to grow grain, now they harvest light to make electricity. For me, it’s a win-win. Solar provides an opportunity to provide a carbon free, renewable energy source that will go some way to ensuring that global warming is reduced and give our environment a chance to survive.” (link, paywalled)
Let’s destroy our countryside to ‘save the planet’ with solar and wind “farms”! Meanwhile, other ‘green warriors’ are working through national institutions to ‘rewild’ the country, destroying other parts of our landscapes which farmers have created over the centuries. The urban lemmings in their silos don’t need the countryside and won’t be permitted to go there anyway, to ‘save the planet’.
This then is my prediction for 2022 which is also a warning: the hypocrisy of those who believe they govern us will be the overarching theme this year. From destroying our lives to ‘save the sacred cow’ to destroying our countryside to ‘save the planet’: watch for the unbearable smugness of the Westminster ‘aristocrats’, the ‘green’ and the ‘covid warriors’, who trample all over us. They all believe they’re ‘The Messiah’, thanks to their MSM-manufactured followers.
As for me, I’ll copy this lady:
Happy New Year!
I’ve often thought that the only way middle England will be mobilised to protest against the incursions on our history, culture, identity and Nation is when the BBC reworks the theme tune to The Archers with a steel band arrangement, with perhaps a bit of rural rap on top.
These chummocracies spring up everywhere. Also, it is true they can become malignant . They usually spring up around some institution or person of fame or respect, in a desperate grab for a piece of it, or at least guidance.
Absolutely the worst examples are: the informal pathways of the Mandarins of The Civil Service, Unions, Committees, Professions, and absolutely the worst:- Religions. ( Note.. Medicine has become a religion )
Sorry, this got inadvertently posted before I’d finished:-
The best and pretty near only remedy is a GOOD EDUCATION from good people.
Backed up by Grannies Wisdom..
Well I’d like to believe it could be a Happy New Year but as soon as I read ‘Sir’ Tony Bliar my heart sank to my boots! Who in their right mind could think he ‘deserves’ such an honour? (The highest level too I note!). Does that mean it’s going to be passed on to son and heir as with Sir Denis Thatcher? At least Denis was a decent gent!
Johnson has lost the last of his marbles to have nodded this one through! I can smell the pong of corruption!!!!
Indeed Harold; ignorance about such basic matters is truly astonishing.
Thank you Viv, and I hope this year will be better for you.
Thank you particularly, for raising the issue of the Climate Change Scam.
It is a huge danger hanging over our country.
While I had to agree with H.A. that, that solar power was going into the national grid the fact remains that any solar panel sites at ground level, reduce our ability to feed ourselves. It also strikes me that London must be a huge drain on the national grid. So it was not entirely ‘fake news’.
Elizabeth 2 is an old woman. It has been showing for a while that she is handing over to Charles 3.
With Phillip gone I suppose she has no remotely sane advice available.
Mrs JB here.
I just signed the petition “The Prime Minister: Tony Blair to have his
“Knight Companion of the Most Noble Order of the Garter” rescinded” and
wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.
Our goal is to reach 1,000,000 signatures and we need more support. You
can read more and sign the petition here:

Crikes the response after only 45 minutes was amazing. If Queenie was advised that this may in someway help Jimmy Saville’s mate, by way of a distraction, she was badly advised. JB
HNY one an all
Change.it petitions are a waste of time. The only petitions that are worth signing are those that are advertised on the government petition website. At least with those petitions, it guarantees a government response when the number of signatures reach 10,000 and the possibility of a parliamentary debate when the number of signatures reach 100,000. With Change.it there is no response and no debate, unless of course someone knows better!!!
Colin Hussey. I quite agree about petitions – only those on the government petitions website are worth signing.
Quite apart from that, I do believe that particular honour is not within the P.M.’s jurisdiction.
It is Her Majesty that has lost the plot in this case!
Couldn’t disagree more Colin.
All petitions are a waste of time.
Read all the responses from the House of Ghosts over the last year to get confirmation of how HM.gov react to requests for change. (please post your list of any achievements you have identified).
Indeed when some 1 million people marched into London against Bliar’s 45 minutes claim of WMD it counted for NADA.
You will recall that the file on Dr David Kelly is locked from scrutiny for about 70 years.
However occasionally, such as the 1 million march, it lays down a marker.
These markers may well result in ‘progress’ in some form or other.
This is a chance to set such a marker. That is all.
Sit on your hands if you must.
Chrissy (Mrs JB)
Butties…….Well, I disagree with you on the point that you made about ALL petitions being a waste of time, because they are not. The petitions on the government website ARE the only petitions worth signing. However I do agree with you, that nothing much comes of them, but at least the government are duty bound to respond to a petition that gets 10,000 signatures and debates a petition if it reaches the all important 100,000 signatures. This is whether you like it or not, a sign of democracy at work, and by getting them to debate issues that they perhaps don’t consider that important, is in fact tying them up in knots. And who knows if the same point is made in several petitions which are re-worded, perhaps just perhaps it might register in their minds and lead to change. It is worth noting that Change.it petitions are based in the USA, so I for one wouldn’t want to leave my email address on a site that wasn’t sponsored by the UK government.
Petition signed and shared thank you.
Blair was always going to be knighted it was just a matter of a time of his choosing. I just hope his knighthood will further serve to demonstrate the rotteness at the heart of the British establishment in a similar way his physog on TV during the referendum served to help us win it.
Happy New Year Viv!
The Spetisbury solar panel story is fake news.
How would electricity generated in Dorset be transported to London?
It can only go into the national grid where it’s available to everyone.
H.A. I hate to agree with you but I think you are right on that.
where it’s available to everyone… except after dark just when you want to put on the light. Just what the grid needs, not: intermittent and variable supply. And then there’s the acre after acre rendered sterile, unsightly and unusable for man or beast. And the panels will become toxic waste at some point. Whereas a capped and completed fracked site, say, about the size of a football pitch, can be screened by bushes, and yield continuous unsubsidised supply regardless of the time of day or weather. No wonder Putin encouraged the useful idiots to get fracking stopped.
Phil O’S 4.51 pm. Hooray for you. Totally agree!
T. Blair and New Year’s Honours list should definitely not be in the same sentence. I can think of a better use for the sword. Happy New Year to all at Independence Daily and everyone who reads one of the few same publications online today.
“Sane” blast the predictive text!
Putting Blair on the Honours list is cocking a snook at all of us. I’m sure that is what is intended.
Mary……..yes , I totally agree and of course it happens under the Downing Street resident clown’s watch. Like everything else that is wrong in this country that can be laid firmly and squarely at his feet. Johnson out and out now…….
