A Happy New Year to all our readers and contributors – may it be a better, healthier one than the last two years.

It seems such a long time ago that we had fun, trying to predict what might happen in a New Year. Once we looked at milestones for our country such as Brexit – to be achieved and then to celebrate. Once we had some vestiges of trust in the probity and good will of our elected representatives. That has evaporated during the last two years.

The trust in the good will of those who actually run this country, the Whitehall mandarins, had already been shaken before the start of the covid years – now it has been shattered. Trust in the professional ethos of the MSM had already been eroded before the covid years but our experiences since then have now demolished that trust utterly. Yes, there are some few journalists who try and adhere to their professional standards but they are few and far between. We’ve learned to despise the propaganda arm, the unofficial ‘ministry of truth’ those formerly so fiercely independent institutions have become.

Also, thanks to the unmitigated propaganda of the MSM for lefty ‘ideals’ like woke and climate extremism that our trust in our other national institutions has been destroyed. From the defence of the realm to the education of our children and youths, from looking after our built heritage to the countryside: our trust has gone. Worse: thanks to SAGE, their nudges and their covid ‘measures’, supported uncritically by said MSM, our trust in the medical profession has been shattered.

But it’s not all gloom and doom – to the contrary! This insidious destruction of our institutions has taught us, the people, the despised peasants, the plebs who should not be seen or heard, that we can speak up, that we have voices which we can make to be heard, that there are people whom we can trust to tell us the truth which the government and its accretions don’t want us to hear. We’ve learned to question and we’ve learned to stand up for ourselves, in big and small acts of defiance and civil disobedience, from refusing to muzzle up to using our common sense, to talking amongst ourselves about news the powerful would suppress.

Above all, we’ve learned who our true friends are, our comrades in arms (in the old, non-lefty sense!), our colleagues. We’ve learned to use our own minds, to question the propaganda which is being dished out and we have learned to read between the lines of the ‘news’ the mighty are trying to dazzle us with. These are skills which we will need in 2022, which we must keep exercising.

So, on this very first day of 2022, here’s a brief look at the proverbial straws in the wind which give a hint of what might occupy us in this new year. Yes, there’s still covid, and the covid emperors are desperate to show that they’ve still got a grip on our collective throats even as we now all know that their numbers are manipulated concoctions of false models and statistics. It’s more WFH to ‘save’ the Sacred Cow because ‘hospitalisations are rising (paywalled link) while only a third of patients in England are being treated primarily for covid (paywalled link).

There’s the looming disaster for the Sacred Cow and indeed the economy thanks to the huge number of workers self-isolating thanks to T & T, a quarantine from which they cannot ‘test’ themselves ‘free’ because there aren’t any tests. This whole scandal is too bizarre for words:

“In the early months of 2021, ministers called a halt to months of work with British companies that had been intended to establish an onshore manufacturing capability for the rapid Covid tests. The result has left the UK relying on securing Chinese-made kits, with the devices currently unavailable in many parts of the country.” (paywalled link)

It turns out that they did this because a NGO, called ‘The Good Law Project’, a Remain group which tried to scupper Brexit by ‘lawfare’, has

“[…] launched cases opposing government policy on Brexit and, more recently, against procurement decisions in the pandemic response. The scrutiny has contributed to a criticism of a “chumocracy” against senior ministers,” (paywalled link)

You couldn’t make it up: government ministers are scared of ‘lawfare’ and ditch projects to manufacture vital covid tests, preferring our money to go to China! Yes, chumocracy is bad – but is the ‘Common Purpose Chumocracy’ which pervades all our national institutions any better? What about the latest ‘aristocrat’ of chumocracy, a certain T. Blair who is now being ‘ennobled’ in the New Year’s Honours list (link)? Funny, isn’t it, how Labour leaders who’ve always been busy to denigrate the aristocracy are nevertheless happy to become ‘Sir’ and ‘Lord’ … hypocrites one and all.

They are as hypocritical as the green ‘climate catastrophe warriors’. Make no mistake: the green ‘agenda’ will become as critical for our national wellbeing as covid has. The Westminster swamp dwellers, from No 10 to Whitehall and the newsrooms of the MSM firmly believe that the instruments they’ve developed during the two covid years are suitable instruments to coerce us into their ‘green paradise’. See this scandalous example, right at the start to 2022:

“About 100,000 solar panels will be installed on a 75-acre site near the village of Spetisbury, with a view to providing 50 megawatts of electricity – enough to service 15,000 homes. But the green energy generated by the vast site erected on Dorset’s rolling countryside will not service local homes. Instead it will be directed to the City of London, where it will power Square Mile landmarks like the Gherkin and the Guildhall.” (paywalled link)

Who needs land to grow food when we can import it! Even the chairman of the Dorset CPRE, Rupert Hardy, still has to bend his knee to the ‘green god’:

“We opposed the plans because of the impact on countryside and the farmland in the area. That land should be used to provide food for Dorset, not electricity for London. We would far prefer energy produced in our county to be used here, especially when it is desecrating our beautiful landscape.” (paywalled link)

Clearly, he’d not moan if this solar farm would only power Dorset homes! The prize for green inanity goes to a local Tory councillor who said:

“The reality is that farming and the way we farm has changed. Farmers once harvested light to grow grain, now they harvest light to make electricity. For me, it’s a win-win. Solar provides an opportunity to provide a carbon free, renewable energy source that will go some way to ensuring that global warming is reduced and give our environment a chance to survive.” (link, paywalled)

Let’s destroy our countryside to ‘save the planet’ with solar and wind “farms”! Meanwhile, other ‘green warriors’ are working through national institutions to ‘rewild’ the country, destroying other parts of our landscapes which farmers have created over the centuries. The urban lemmings in their silos don’t need the countryside and won’t be permitted to go there anyway, to ‘save the planet’.

This then is my prediction for 2022 which is also a warning: the hypocrisy of those who believe they govern us will be the overarching theme this year. From destroying our lives to ‘save the sacred cow’ to destroying our countryside to ‘save the planet’: watch for the unbearable smugness of the Westminster ‘aristocrats’, the ‘green’ and the ‘covid warriors’, who trample all over us. They all believe they’re ‘The Messiah’, thanks to their MSM-manufactured followers.

As for me, I’ll copy this lady:

Happy New Year!
