I was going to put my feet up today as it’s Sunday, not just an ordinary Sunday but the very first one in the New Year. However – needs must. There were some reports in today’s Sunday broadsheets which are just too delicious to pass up.

First off, there’s a true gem of the species ‘scare the pants off the peasants’, published in the DT. The author is Paul Nuki, the ‘global health security editor’ of that paper. Looking at his brief wiki entry one notes with amazement that he’s got no education in science whatsoever – but he once was “the founding chief editor of NHS Choices, the web portal of the UK National Health Service” (link). Ah. Any suspicions that this is why he’s the lockdown promoter in chief at the DT are of course totally uncalled for!

The headline of his article is: “Frightening new Covid data shows Boris Johnson’s omicron gamble may be about to implode” (paywalled link). Again: ah! Personally, when I see his name in the byline, I don’t even read the concoction. I’m not alone – so do comment posters under that article which are a joy to behold. They are so scathing that, If Nuki were a chicken, he’d be plucked nekkid, with  not a feather to cover his carcass. Clearly, us peasants who are meant to bow to the superior knowledge of such journalists, who are meant to be scared out of our tiny minds, are not buying the covid propaganda any longer and are saying so.

Next are two articles in the Sunday Times trying to deal with the ongoing Omicron-induced quarantine producing staff shortages everywhere, especially in the NHS and across the ‘health sector’. There’s one heartfelt outcry from the Care Homes Association bewailing the fact that staff shortages have become so dire that they are calling for volunteers to help them out:

“Homes, already overstretched by almost two years of Covid, are also asking the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to suspend inspections and redeploy its staff to help them. […] In some cases family and friends of care home residents have been asked by managers if they will help.” (link, paywalled)

Ask inspectors to stop inspecting but instead put their shoulders to the wheel? I approve of that! The usual swipe at Brexit aside, to be expected in RemainCentral, the demand that ‘volunteers’ like family members and retired nurses and doctors to come and help in care homes voluntarily is typical of such ‘services’ where the providers pay the minimum salary the can get away with, relying on unpaid volunteers to take up the slack.

Let’s by no means wonder why care staff must have a pristine Omicron record when at the same time 95% of the vulnerable elderly in their care have had two jabs and 89% have had three. Instead it’s test-test-test – and there’s the UKHSA wailing that it’s too dangerous to reduce the covid quarantine down to five days, staff shortages notwithstanding. Their ‘advice’, lovingly printed in the Times report, is a hoot:

“Our modelling suggests that a seven day self-isolation period, combined with two consecutive negative LFD [lateral flow device] tests starting on day six and taken 24 hours apart, has nearly the same effect as a ten-day self-isolation period without LFD testing. If self-isolation ended on day seven without testing, modelling suggests 16 per cent of people would still be infectious.” (link, paywalled)

It’s a hoot not because UKHSA is basing their ‘advice’ on ‘modelling’. It’s a hoot because they say that untested people would still be ‘infectious’. Yes, this comes under ‘you couldn’t make it up’: people manage to be infectious simply because they’ve not been tested! The corollary is of course that staff shortages, cancelled operations, uncared for care home residents don’t matter because the holy grail is being ‘non-infectious’ thanks to tests ad infinitum. I won’t go into the various failures of both PCR and LFT tests – they’ve been eloquently reported on elsewhere.

As for those LFT tests for which we have a ‘shortage’, keeping people at home because only the tested can be permitted to go to work – well, I fell off my sofa when I saw this headline:

“Delays in approval mean UK lateral flow kits don’t pass the red-tape test – British devices are available in Europe but cannot be used here, while Chinese brands corner the market” (link, paywalled)

Oh my giddy aunt! Yesterday we were told that UK LFT production was halted because ‘ministers’ were scared of being accused of ‘chumocracy’, when in fact it’s because of ‘mandarinocracy’ , being more bureaucratic than even the EU. Words simply fail me! See this:

“[…] only one British producer has managed to make a rapid test that meets UK requirements. […] the majority of NHS home antigen tests are now two brands imported from China.”  (link, paywalled)

Perhaps we ought to speak about ‘chinese chumocracy’? Perhaps some investigative journalist -provided they haven’t given up  yet – might look for ‘friends of China’ in our mandarinocracy? There’s worse. The reason given for government’s rejection of UK produced LFT kits is breath-taking:

“The new review system by Porton Down, overseen by Oxford University, is unique to the UK. Tim Peto, a professor of medicine at Oxford University, is on the committee that checks Porton Down’s assessments of tests. He said that “[…] part of the reason so many tests were being rejected was because they were being brought to market far more quickly than usual. Normally it takes five years for a company to make a kit that it puts to market and lots of work and version 2, 3, 4, 5 before it’s stable enough to use,” he said” (link, paywalled)

Read that again and let it sink in – slowly and deeply. Now compare and contrast with the speed of the delivery of covid ‘vaccines’! If it was acceptable to speed ‘vaccines’ up regardless of the side effects, from severe to lethal, which can no longer be hidden, then why was it not acceptable to have LFT test kits which were speedily developed? It couldn’t be, could it, because certain vested interests were trying to keep PCR tests as the only acceptable test regime? Nah – surely not!

We’re in a new medical universe where testing is akin to a cure and where, next to jab passports, test passports will become the norm. I wonder what this constant testing is doing to the cell surfaces in nose and throat which will have to be scraped constantly to satisfy the ‘precautionary’ principles of the Sacred Cow, the UKHSA, the covid tsars and their ‘prophets’ in the MSM. I wonder if those constantly irritated cells might not provide an easy entry for all those covid ‘variants’, old and new …
