Sorry about the weather warning …
I think we can all agree: yesterday was a beautiful day. The weather was glorious and just right for the official celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It was too lovely to be glued to the telly and, just as in days 70 years past, the images in our papers, online or ‘for real’, printed on paper., are sufficient. Even the usual suspects – Guardian, FT and the Star – had the photo of the balcony scene, Prince Louis included, on the top of their front page (link).
Something to be profoundly grateful for: the war in the Ukraine was relegated to the bottom of the ‘news’, albeit the DT was not only scraping the bottom of the barrel but digging through it, ‘reporting’ that a Ukrainian soldier kept ‘working’ even after having been hit in the arm by shrapnel (paywalled link). Such ‘heroism’! Words simply fail me!
The various opinion piece writers in the MSM however had their proverbial field day. Amidst their more or less jubilant and saccharine outpurings there was one paragraph which showed how far our country has fallen. Allison Pearson wrote: in the DT
“Above all, perhaps, there was the simple pleasure of being allowed to express admiration for the Royal family and patriotism without fear of being ridiculed. For one happy (and glorious) day, Britons were the good-natured, inclusive, Union Jack-tastic, one-tenth slightly bonkers people – that is our true national identity.” (paywalled link)
Note the choice of words: “we were being allowed” … I find it beyond sad that on this one special day only the ‘cultural’ elite, the Westminster opinion makers in the MSM, permitted us peasants to show patriotism. I find it beyond sad that even the redoubtable Ms Pearson doesn’t seem to notice how shaming it is that we’ve become so cowed that we need ‘permission’ to show our true identity, to express ourselves, without fear of being ridiculed or worse.
Can we expect to be shooed back into our cages because of ‘issues’, to feel shame again because of our history? I’m afraid so because even while we enjoy ourselves over these Platinum Jubilee holidays the dark clouds are looming over the horizon. Yes, ‘it’s the economy, stupid’, and when the boss of JP Morgan warns, perhaps it’s time to listen:
“Jamie Dimon, the head of JPMorgan Chase, said the investment bank is preparing for a storm and urged investors to do the same, escalating his stark forecast for the world’s largest economy. […] Dimon, 66, suggested that the outlook had worsened further as policymakers move aggressively to curtail price growth and the fallout from the war in Ukraine continues to escalate.” (link, paywalled)
The difference between a proper hurricane and the coming economic disaster is that the first one is not ‘manmade’, regardless of what the ‘climate catastrophe’ acolytes try to tell us. Of course, “we” don’t mention the sanctions which the western governments have been and are still imposing. It’s so much easier to blame Putin for everything, as if he were a god against whom we are powerless.
Here in the UK we have one other problem which will exacerbate the situation further. Under the headline “Benefits Britain is back – and it’s condemning millions to dependency. […] The UK has a hidden crisis of mass joblessness” (paywalled link), Fraser Nelson writes in the DT that ‘immigration has bounced back’ and that immigrants make up one fifth of the workforce.
He is of course talking about those coming from EU countries. He does not mention, with one word, the tsunami of illegals. Take a look at Paul Joseph Watson’s latest video on this issue. All these people are not working, they are living happily in ‘Benefits Britain’. The more of them there are, the more the social benefits budget has to rise.
Would our government dare to do what Poland does, cutting certain social benefits for Ukrainian refugees because there are too many of them? Would Ms Patel do as the Bulgarians do who are now trying to send those multitudes of Ukrainian refugees to centres inland because the seafront hotels will be needed for the tourist season? Of course not – that would be racist, innit like! Instead, Nelson blames ‘Brits’:
“The low unemployment claim is a mirage. Britain has, in fact, been suffering a period of mass joblessness as big as any in our recent history. The proportion of people who are neither in work or looking for it is higher now than it was in the mid-1970s. More than five million people were claiming out-of-work benefits at the last count – a figure as big as the population of Scotland. But many of them don’t count as unemployed, because they’re not looking for jobs. So – presto! – they vanish from the national debate.” (paywalled link)
After quoting hair-rising numbers of people ‘out of work’ while thousands of jobs are available, Nelson argues that the reason for this mass joblessness is the Universal Credit System:
“[… it] was created with strings of conditionality on welfare payments, with sanctions imposed if people turned down jobs or missed face-to-face meetings. During lockdown, the conditions were abandoned – and never properly restored.” (paywalled link)
Of course it wasn’t ‘properly restored’ – how could it when WFH mania is still with us. Why should people scrabble to find work when they see that their ‘betters’ aren’t properly working either, living on salaries paid by the taxpayer – just as they live on bennies paid by the taxpayer. No difference, really, is there!
While Nelson hopes that the Cabinet might address this point, I reiterate the point I made above: neither he nor the Cabinet is addressing the point about illegal immigrants also benefitting from ‘Benefits Britain’. I shudder to think of what might happen if benefits will be cut, to Brits as well as all those young, male “refugees”, now being ‘dispersed’ across the country. I shudder especially when I see this warning by Interpol:
“Weaponry that Washington and its allies in Europe and beyond send to Kiev are likely to end up in the global black market, Interpol Secretary General Juergen Stock said on Wednesday. Various criminal groups already have their eye on these weapons, the official told the Anglo-American Press Association in Paris.” (link)
Do any of our intrepid investigative reporters dare to look at Russian news sources on ‘propaganda sites’ such as ‘Intel Slava Z’? There it is alleged that “the command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine resells equipment and weapons supplied by Western countries to the Middle East and North Africa” on the Dark Web.
Since La Truss is pushing for the Royal Navy to face up to the Russians in the Black Sea – do watch this video! – we can surmise that such weapons will find their way into our country because the RN isn’t even ruling our own inshore waves any longer, and never mind Ms Patel’s Border Farce which is incapable of stopping illegal immigrants.
I hope that we plebs, ‘allowed’ to show our Britishness and patriotism during these Jubilee Days, will be able to collect many happy memories of all the celebrations. Perhaps we might even rediscover our strength, making us able to stand up to the naysayers and to those who are so blatantly disinterested in doing their duty by us – in stark contrast to the Queen, God bless her.
Richard Tice of Reform UK said yesterday on Talk Radio that the likelihood that by early next week the number of letters of no confidence in Boris Johnson will exceed the required threshold namely 54, but that he believed Johnson would go on to win a vote of no confidence…really. Is that wishful thinking on his part. He said Conservative MP’s would back him because they think by ditching him would put Brexit in danger, and that lots of people like Parliamentary Under Secretaries and the like would lose their jobs. Is this best that the leader of Reform UK can come up with. I mean bland, boring and dull, and nothing changes. Who in their right mind would vote Reform UK, its not a serious party in any way shape or form….
Ukraine’s president says ‘victory will be ours’ insofar as the continuing war in his country. Has he not looked at the map of how much land the Russians already occupy and land where they have made advances but don’t physically control. Its a huge wad of land and no way in a month of Sundays will the Ukrainian army be able to recapture that lost territory. I say who is he trying to kid, but then our not so illustrious prime minister who will hopefully be out of the door within the next three weeks is easily fooled and thinks we are all as stupid as he patently is. I think I will leave it that otherwise this posting will quickly turn another daily tirade against Johnson which will upset Biscotte and Harry Again………
I am informed that Soros Open Society. advertisements adorn many of the articles in the DT which may account for their obsessive Ukraine war support. Maybe Fraser Nelson is discovering a benevolent sponsor too?
Ref Niel-McCoy Ward pondering, that there must be some authority above all these august financiers and bankers on that stage putting pressure on them and I think that is the vital question as they are the ultimate of those “who would RULE the WORLD”
Is it the USA who were defeated in introducing their “SHALL” instruction to the WHO and has anybody told China that they are not going to get to rule the world?
Wots that saying . ” Wot can’tbe explained ” etc. The maths of wealth available ( owned ? ) vs.wealth visible., wealth lost, mislaid, unused, misappropriated, no longer, etc. invented, speculated. phoenix like re-appearing. Great fun. ( Wealth not used, dissappears, until ” found “, or ” used” or ” made ” ). Good innit .
I had yesterday’s pageant on in the background. Each time I passed the telly and caught a glimpse I could not escape an ‘orchestra playing while the titanic sank’ feeling. Our Elizabethan Age is coming to an end, symbolised by a stand-in for Philip alongside the Queen on the balcony, and her being too fragile to traverse the mall in a carrige or attend St Paul’s today.
We are like people in steerage class on the titanic shouting to the upper decks of officers and crew, but failing to be heard or noticed as we become the first to go under. It is obvious from local schools around where I live that the Great Replacement is actually well advanced. Adult census figure are misleading. Our future, now inevitable, is in the schools. 23rd June 2016 was just a last hurrah.
Mrs Yeoman and I went to a well attended street party in the afternoon. As diverse as London and I could not but notice that even though the atmosphere was festive there was hardly any inter-ethnic mingling. People sat in ethnic groups which were friendly (for once) but nonethess distinct groups. It reminded me of a hotel in Singapore. The Koreans went to the Korean part of the breakfast buffet, the Indonesians to the Indonesian … and me looking for the British part that had vanished from the previous year because the hotel had gone halal (so no bacon). And like that hotel, my home country has become a hotel.
But I do not complain. Crying over spilt milk is futile. Instead, Mrs Yeoman and I will be out for an afternoon tea and we have tickets for the opera and another trip to Marseille lined up. Thus shall we enjoy life until the Queen’s funeral (in about 5 years?). Thereafter, England will live in on the history books and I am now reconciled to that.
I doubt if Her Majesty will outlast the year, Stout. She has gone downhill noticeably since she lost Philip. I hope she fades quickly and doesn’t suffer.
or she may be like those veterans one sees at the Cenotaph – so old that they are in wheelchairs with a nurse alongside. She may hang on in a frail state for several years. Depends on her heart. She is still compos mentis so arterial flow to the brain is OK and she has top physicians on tap. It may be musculo-skeletal problems – osteoporosis must be a likely condition given how much she has shrunk – and so her heart keeps beating a while longer.
I hope you’re right. Long live the Queen!
The Queen, for all her efforts to keep the show going, leaves the monarchy with no future. The replacement population and their leaders will find an easy target in a monarchy with no constitutional role. That coronation oath was never meant to be symbolic. Badly advised is the best I can say. God bless the Queen.
That’s my impression as well, Debbie. I believe she only kept going because of this Jubilee because the death of Prince Philip hit her much harder than she let appear. She seems to disengage silently: not going to the Trooping of the Colour, not attending today’s Thanksgiving service … if she said she was ‘in discomfort’ then I suspect she must have been in pretty bad pain.
I think yesterday might have been the last time we saw her on ‘that’ balcony.
Quite agree Viv. Philip was her ‘strength and stay’ and after such a long marriage she must miss him dreadfully. Maybe she’ll appear on the balcony in the future but I’ll bet she won’t be going out to any more events.
Debbie…..agreed, but name me one 96 year old who is able to do what she does. Travelling in a horse drawn carriage, even a Royal one cannot be that comfortable. Without doubt the Queen is slowing up and probably everything is a big effort especially having to examine state papers on a daily basis and smile and be pleasant to politicians and especially to those like Boris Johnson and Co. Probably the time has come for her to officially step down in favour of the next in line to the throne and takes things easier. However I am not convinced that Prince Charles is an adequate successor, but if they were to skip him in favour of Prince William that would cause one almighty constitutional crisis.
Prince Charles is a bumbling idiot; totally unfit to be King or much anything else requiring some common sense.
Afraid to say there were more households out clapping for the NHS on our street than sporting bunting and Union Jacks in celebration of the Queen’s 70 year reign. Times they are a changing.
Most western democracies are going down exactly the same path. Everything is going to plan – Sidney an Beatrice Webb would be delighted with the progress.
The only people who should be unemployed are politicians and senior civil servants. Nobody would miss them.
We now have a large segment of the population with “entitlement syndrome”. They don’t want/need to work, they just sit on their ar**s or pop down to the local food bank. Kids get fed at school.
All part of the government “Buy Votes” program. Tories compete with liebour as to who gives away the most taxpayer’s money
It seems they’re having the same problem in Spain. They’re now wanting to import Mexican illegal migrants/workers for the chav’s holiday trade.
Putin is biding his time. The real crunch will happen about November/December. when all gas will be shut off.
(If he hasn’t died by then of one of his many supposed ailments).
Now why would he do that when he will have achieved his objectives by then; you know the ones that everyone ignores in favour of their own propaganda? Although I suppose it could be a threat if the West does not accept the new status quo.
So what’s after “Platinum ” jubilee? If her maj. lasts another ten years will it be her “Uranium” jubilee?
Uranium would be appropriate. If those driving us to WWIII get their way we’ll all be radioactive in a lot sooner than ten years.
Here’s a must watch video by Neil McCoy-Ward. Here Neil gives a brilliant analysis of the latest World Economic Forum meeting and puts his interpretation on what is being said, frightening stuff as it happens. Energy, CO2, the economy, it seems that these people are planning to keep us in eternal misery. If you think things are going mad now, you ‘aint seen nothing yet.

Well that was 26 minutes of pure evil intent Flyer. These people really are the dregs of society.
Meanwhile the Bilderberg group meets behind closed doors. An interesting list of attendees, including Michael Gove.
https://www.bilderbergmeetings.org/press/press-release/participants
The list contains Michael Gove and Tom Tugendhat, dear oh dear. What a couple of waste of timers those two are. My heart sunk when I saw their names. Both totally uninspiring and career politicians of the worst kind. Minister of Levelling Up, what an absolute joke. He wouldn’t know where to start. Its just money for old rope……..
From Media Watch, an old but shot video about Goldman Sachs and Freemasonry.
And now guess what, the Biden administration according to the MSM is about to complete an agreement with SPAIN to take their illegal immigrants. You could not make it up!
Well they might fit in more easily there with a common language but we may bet their final destination is likely to be the UK.
Good job we left the EUSSR. They’d just have been able to breeze into the UK.
Seems they continue to do so Harold; courtesy of rescue by the RN and Coastguard, they of the most inapt name.
