It’s infuriating. The ‘science’ and ‘health’ correspondents and editors in our MSM can’t even manage to get their ‘shock-horror’ reports right or properly coordinated. To expect that one of them might ask a pertinent question has become a forlorn hope. Still, a few points worthy of inquiry have made it into the ‘daily covid propaganda’ articles, although one needs to be like a well-trained sniffer dog to search for and find them.

The Johnson Covid Government clearly is hell-bent on inflicting misery on us all and if we refuse to comply they showed us the thumbscrews of a ‘Christmas Lockdown’ (here, paywalled and here). It’s back to muzzling up everywhere and back to “self-isolation”. Of course, the ‘leaders’ of the devolved nation followed suit immediately. I note in passing that there’s only one airport in Wales which is practically defunct anyway, with no flights from Africa coming in. I dunno if Dripford envisages all travellers who cross the Severn Bridges will have to undergo a PCR test once they’ve reached Wales – or if they’ll have to present their ‘papers’, vaccine passport and PCR test results included. 

We’re given the scare number of two ‘omicron cases’ here in the UK, added to those from other EU countries. And then we read that in the Netherlands 61 – yes, sixty-one travellers from Cape Town and Johannesburg were tested +ve. There were over 600 passengers all in all. However, they’d all been tested -ve before permitted to board the plane – hadn’t they? That’s the law, innit? And then we’re told:

“’We now know that 61 of the results were positive and 531 negative,’ the Dutch Health Authority (GGD) said in a statement. ‘Travellers with a positive test result will be placed in isolation at a hotel at or near Schiphol. Of the positive test results, we are researching as quickly as possible whether they are the new variant of concern, now named Omicron.’ (link)

They don’t even know if all those infected are Omicron-carriers but we all must be trembling with fear anyway. “Search and ye shall find” – I’m sure they’ll find some! Then there’s Belgium where the first ‘case’ was found. The quote is important:

“Europe’s first case of the variant was spotted in Belgium yesterday — despite the unvaccinated woman who caught it having travelled to Turkey and Egypt, not souther [sic!] Africa where the strain emerged.” (link)

Note that this lady wasn’t even in SA, note the remark that she was ‘unvaccinated’! How is that possible with Belgium allegedly being a country with one of the highest vaccination rates? How is it even possible for her to travel without those ‘vaccine passports’? Perhaps she’s old and was jabbed at the beginning of the year which means her ‘vaccinated’ status had expired? It’s another nudge for everybody needing their boosters – or else no foreign holidays. Will TPTB next forbid those cherished winter holidays in Egypt or Turkey?

This latest ‘omigawd – omicron!’ scare is a blatant attempt to get everyone who can move to get their booster jabs because the earlier two jabs have now been declared to be ‘less useful’ after six or five months. Unsurprisingly, wails about ‘orrible unvaxxed’ covid patients filling the ICUs are again promoted. It’s all so predictable. But there’s also this, smuggled into the report well below the pious sentences which came from Johnson and Javid at their press conference yesterday:

“Another 39,567 Covid cases were recorded in the UK today – down 3.36 per cent from 40,941 posted last Saturday – while the number of people who have died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid fell by 12.7 per cent from 150 last week to 131.” (link)

Despite or because of falling numbers they dusted off the old ‘tested +ve within 28 days’ label to keep the panic propaganda going. Moreover, when we see that “On Friday morning 825 out of 3,480 patients in intensive care beds across England had Covid. Most remained unvaccinated.” (link, paywalled) we know that this isn’t just about the Omicron panic – this is about getting everybody jabbed, even our kids. If these unfortunate people in ICUs were actually hospitalised with covid, they’d tell us. Instead it’s ‘they had covid’ – meaning they tested +ve in hospital. It’s the now well-known and well-documented play with numbers, obscuring data and not asking proper questions in order to drive the booster-jabberitis. Why?

Here’s one other little snippet – I leave it to you to draw your one conclusions. The professor who started this latest scare is “Professor Tulio de Oliveira of the University of KwaZulu-Natal — the same scientist who 12 months earlier alerted the world to the presence of a previous worrying variant, now known as Beta.” (link, paywalled). If you dare to enter the swamp that is twitter (link)you’ll find that he’s wailing about rich countries abandoning the poor, hoarding vaccines and about not ‘isolating SA’ because: “racist”. Therefore Pres Biden is clearly a racist, as are Johnson and the EU politicians – who knew! I thought only Pres Trump was racist for banning flights from China in early 2020.
