I had a peek at this morning’s headlines in the papers, thanks to this compilation. What a surprise: the Broadsheets are still on their war-porn spree but the Red Tops have apparently had enough. They’re on about ‘MP killer planned to kill Gove’, and ‘Kate in khaki’ while the DM’s headline demands to ‘raise the state pension’. Even for the covid-trained MSM four weeks is a long time in politics.
Some ‘Ukraine News’ are still on the menu, the latest being that Biden and ‘our’ PM have warned that Russia was preparing a ‘false flag chemical attack’. The Guardian which seems to be the main war porn provider has the details, quoting what Biden said:
“Russia’s false accusation that Ukraine has biological and chemical weapons is a “clear sign” that a desperate Vladimir Putin is considering using them himself, Joe Biden has said.The US president said Putin’s “back is against the wall and now he’s talking about new false flags he’s setting up including, asserting that we in America have biological as well as chemical weapons in Europe – simply not true. I guarantee you,” Biden said at an event on Monday.” (link)
This is the answer Biden or rather his handlers gave to the warnings by the Russian Defence Ministry on the weekend, and after the reports of a huge spill of ammonia near a town in Ukraine yesterday? Personally, I’m unable to follow this reasoning: if someone warns that one side in this conflict is preparing to do something, this must be a clear sign that they themselves are going to do it? Really? There’s more from Biden:
“They [the Russians] are also suggesting that Ukraine has biological and chemical weapons in Ukraine. That’s a clear sign he’s [Putin] considering using both of those. He’s already used chemical weapons in the past, and we should be careful of what’s about to come.” Putin “knows there’ll be severe consequences because of the united Nato front,” he said, without specifying what actions the alliance would take.” (link)
Ah – those ‘biological weapons’! That’s aimed at trying to play down the existence of those biolabs in Ukraine. Let me ask this naive question: if those biolabs were innocent, hygiene and public health labs – why shred and destroy any possible paper trail? Wouldn’t those papers have been the best proof that nothing bad was going on?
Biden will visit Warsaw this weekend, for some NATO get-together, so he’s apparently preparing the ground for some sort of getting NATO’s ‘retaliation’ in first. I hope his handlers, especially those from the Pentagon, will make clear that apparently Russia has military capacities which might make such intervention a bit perilous.
For example, Paul Joseph Watson published a scathing video last night, on those western volunteer ‘fighters’, flocking to ‘help Ukraine’ (link), pointing out that the social-media obsessed, selfie-addicted western volunteers, sending their photos back home, allowed Russian intelligence to pinpoint their location and send in the missiles. We remember what happened next …
But that’s enough war ‘stories’. With Sunak having to provide a budget, with various MPs demanding he reduce the tax on petrol, with the DM now demanding he raise the state pension, it seems the Westminster swamp dwellers are becoming vaguely aware of inflation, a.k.a. called ‘rise in cost of living’. Fear not – our clever government has joined what can only be labelled ‘state-sanctioned robbery’ of assets even vaguely connected to Russia so “we” will have some money, correct? The Guardian has a breathless report about those assets, ready to be taken away (link).
The strange thing is that nobody in the western MSM talks about Ukrainian ‘oligarchs’ who’ve’ not only financed Mr Z’s rise to his current job but who have certainly assets in the west. Some are more clever than others – or more lucky. The wife of a former Ukrainian MP was unlucky. She was caught yesterday, trying to smuggle $28 million and €1.3 million into Hungary. In cash. You won’t find this in our MSM but two Indian papers have the story – here and here.
May we wonder, amongst ourselves, where this money came from? Perhaps we may even ask why this money wasn’t donated to Mr Z’s ‘war effort’, or perhaps given to organisations trying to help Ukrainian refugees? Why did she go to Hungary and not Poland which is so much easier to travel to? Ah well – perhaps our brilliant MSM reporters, analysts and providers of war propaganda and war porn haven’t yet had ‘guidance’ on how to ‘frame this narrative’.
It’s good to know that Ukrainian oligarchs can apparently transfer the money they robbed and are robbing from the unfortunate Ukrainians and keep it without any western eyebrows raised, whereas anything even remotely smelling of ‘connected to Putin’ can be taken away by western states. I wonder if those Ukrainian moneybags are feeling secure. After all, when even Switzerland is willing to hand over financial data of Russians, will these Ukrainian kleptocrats be safe should a grand reckoning occur once the war is over?
Speaking of moneybags, we’re back in ‘let them eat cake (or brioche …)’ country. Having seen this headline in Paul Joseph Watson’s ‘Summit News’: “Billionaire-Owned Bloomberg Says Americans Should Eat Lentils & Let Their Pets Die to Cope With Inflation” (link) I went to check out that Bloomberg article. Crikey – not only do we learn that people earning more than $300,000 p.a. won’t feel inflation as much as those on incomes around $50,000 p.a., there are also useful hints for “Teh Poor” on how best to cope, from ‘budgeting properly’ because that is ’empowering’, to using public transport (in the USA? Yeah right!) to stop eating meat but ‘explore’ veggie food, for example lentils because they’re cheaper than meat and yes, to ‘re-think costly pet medical needs’.
Inflation was on the rise since last autumn, as were energy prices. The various western governments have not only done nothing to alleviate inflation, they are now using this war to let inflation rip because they can blame it all on Putin. Moreover, there’s a clear drift recognisable: those who ‘have’, i.e. the upper middle classes, will be able to sit out inflation and price rises while the vast majority of us, on the famous ‘median’ income or even lower than that, are given helpful advice about how to ‘save’. So far, I’ve not found anything about ‘re-purposing’ what is called ‘pre-loved’ items, especially clothes formerly known as ‘second-hand’. I’m sure that’ll come next.

If any thought the BBC was bad enough with its woke agenda, I tuned into Dewbs & Co on GB News last night as I do most evenings. I think Michelle Dewbury is one of the better presenters on that Channel, but there was a ultra wet and woke member of the panel whose name I’ve forgot but she was instantly forgettable with her unwanted ideas, but she was an Anthropologist. I give her, her due, Dewberry does slap these idiots down and this Anthropologist was explaining how lockdowns were a good idea, and probably thinks they should have been extended etc etc. I tuned into the channel specifically to listen to what David Kurten had to say, but the best member of the panel was another chap who was a ‘forecaster’.
Went to a talk last night on the forthcoming French election by a correspondent for Le Monde (because it was the only game in town, so to speak, as it was definitely not the sort of company I normally seek). It was more interesting than I expected. There were the usual tropes and idiocies, but in a smallish gathering the intimacy of it encouraged him to be increasingly candid thus permitting to see at root what underlies his world view. His evident dismay at the size of the ‘far right’ in France is over their belief in Renaud Camus’ Le Grand Remplacement. It’s not true he exclaimed! Whereas snobbery and disdain for ordinary people govern our elite’s attitudes it was fascinating to see someone in true denial. This was no clash of values, and attendant cynical dissembling, but a genuinely deep refusal to see the world. The irony is that he, or rather the type he instances, will be among those eventually replaced and the only opportunity to stop that is his despised ‘far right’. It was an enjoyable talk (though probably not for the reasons he meant it to be) and, oddly, I quite liked him. His disbelief in reality was truly sincere and strangely endearing at a personal level. There was no aggession in his attempts to shore up his unreality and he did not believe in cancelling anyone. He was just puzzled at why the left was losing the argument. It seemed a genuine mystery to him. I would have liked more time with him as a fascinating case study.

This is long but utterly absorbing and fascinating. Ritter seems to have had a varied career and integrity tailor made to comment. Knowledgable but dispassionate analysis. Confirms many of the independent blogger narratives, especially on tactics and intentions, but also ranges far and wide.

Only one thing we need to know in respect of government and the MSM; we are being lied to in support of the various agendas, or “Agendas” as some refer to them.
Jack…….whatever the agenda is, I want our absent prime minister to spend much much much less time wandering around Europe and elsewhere trying to ingratiate himself with other leaders talking crap and doing his level best to make this country a target in the eyes of Vladimir Putin. He was supposedly elected to make the lot of the British public a whole lot better in his four tenure as prime minister, but he has achieved very little in this respect, and time is running out. I want him here in the UK sorting out the myriad of problems which face this country at home, and spending less time worrying about what happens in other countries and offering everyone a home here who are at angst with their own governments, and having his picture taken at every available opportunity to fill those empty pages in his personal photo album, of which most have no interest in.
