‘Animal Farm’ – again …
Today I am forced to delve deeply into the morass that is the MSM’s war propaganda. While Sunak will present his budget later today, we find that only the Red Tops are keen on that subject while the Broadsheets are still fixated on that war in Ukraine, providing more hair-raising propaganda items. You can find the usual compilation of “what the papers say” here.
It was one particular report which forced me to wade into the morass, holding my nose. I’m going into the particulars because it is a prime example for how the propaganda ‘effort’ is being worked. It was the headline in the DT’s print edition, that Russian Forces were ‘in retreat’, which made me take a closer look, not least because nowhere else did I find a report that Russian Armed Forces were ‘beaten back in several areas’.
In the DT’s online version, this surely important piece of news morphed into their ‘live blog’ which then linked to the original report. Here’s the headline:
“Russians in retreat, blighted by frostbite and casualties, as Ukrainian troops regain key territory – Moscow’s forces suffer setbacks in areas including Makariv, near Kyiv, raising fears a desperate Vladimir Putin may turn to chemical weapons” (paywalled link)
It is utterly hilarious though to read that Russian soldiers can’t fight because they suffer from frostbite – in March, and not in Siberia but Central Europe. However, digging deeper into this piece of war porn demonstrates nicely why it was written (my emphasis):
“The Ukrainians deployed devastating hit-and-run tactics against enemy tanks, while some of the Kremlin’s ill-prepared forces suffered frostbite and could no longer fight, according to US officials. With Russian casualties mounting, Vladimir Putin has his “back against the wall”, according to Joe Biden, the US president, and could resort to using biological or chemical weapons. A former UK and Nato commander of chemical, biological and nuclear defence forces told The Telegraph that Putin was most likely to use chlorine gas.” (paywalled link)
This whole tale is based on what US officials say. They are clearly not at the Ukrainian front. One doesn’t need to be especially clever to note that this story has been crafted to hammer home the warning that Russia would use chemical attacks next. There’s more, and you really have to savour this paragraph to see why I shun our MSM because they are telling porkies:
“A senior US defence official said: “They [the Ukrainians] are now able and willing to take back territory the Russians have taken. It’s notable. Not only are the Ukrainians defending well, they’re making efforts to take back territory the Russians have taken in recent days. Some of their [Russia’s] soldiers are suffering from frostbite because they lack the appropriate cold weather gear. We don’t think they properly planned.” Russian troops were reportedly spotted wearing Ukrainian combat boots because they were superior. The Russians have also been putting carpets on top of their vehicles in an attempt to disguise them from Ukrainian drones.” (paywalled link)
They are really trying to hammer home the ‘frostbite’ meme, and they are going full out on the ‘chemical attack’ warning. Of course, a statement from Mr Z cannot be left out: “Volodymyr Zelensky, the Ukrainian president, said his country was “on the brink” of surviving the war.” (paywalled link) even though, as reported elsewhere, Ukrainian Armed forces are running out of ammunition. Certainly nobody asks if that might not, conceivably, be a reason for Ukrainian forces to use chemical attacks.
To me, all these ‘warnings’ come under ‘projection’, i.e. accusing someone of going to do something which one is planning to do oneself. There are however the following statements which demonstrate that the whole report has one aim only – to prepare the ground for a chemical attack which will be blamed on Russia:
“However, a senior US defence official said Russia still retained nearly 90 per cent of the combat power it had initially assembled in Ukraine. Jake Sullivan, the White House national security adviser, said: “This war will not end easily or rapidly.” […] A senior US defence official said there was no specific intelligence of an imminent chemical or biological attack, but added: “We certainly agree with the president’s assessment.” (paywalled link)
Yes, one must always agree with one’s president even if he talks bovine, round, dangling objects! Keep in mind that US defence officials have ‘no evidence’ for a Russian chemical attack. Keep in mind that the Russians still have ‘nearly 90%of their combat power’. Perhaps all those frost-bitten Russians are so effective because they hide under those carpets? Rounding up this ‘report’, this prime example of biased war propaganda, here’s the last paragraph:
“The US embassy in Kyiv said nearly 2,400 children had been ‘kidnapped’ from the eastern regions of Donetsk and Luhansk and taken to Russia, citing the Ukrainian foreign ministry.” (paywalled link)
Let’s just recall that the US embassy in Kiev was evacuated even before the first bullets were fired. Let’s also recall that no Ukrainian official is in or near the Donbas regions either where fights have been going on for eight years. Let’s gasp though at the callous Russians, now ‘kidnapping children’ from a region still fought over. Ukrainians only ‘evacuate’ children and our MSM would splash those news across their front pages, tugging at our heartstrings.
To underline, thrice, why this report is propaganda pure and simple, you only have to see who wrote it. This didn’t come from intrepid war reporters ‘on the ground’ in war-torn Ukraine. It didn’t even come from Warsaw or, closer to the front, Lviv. No, it was written “By Nick Allen IN WASHINGTON and Danielle Sheridan, DEFENCE CORRESPONDENT” (paywalled link)
And finally, to demonstrate that reports like this one, that the MSM fuel the hatred of all things Russian, here’s a report in RT (boo-hiss) on a poster apparently put up in London – check it out. Yes, that’s how low some of our oh-so tolerant people have sunk. Wasn’t there something about ‘hate speech’ in our legislation? Wasn’t there something about racism being unacceptable in our society? Apparently hate and racism are permitted and come under ‘free speech’ if addressed at Russia and Russians.
Our Westminster swamp dwellers have certainly learned that some animals are more equal …
Ukraine has a continental climate. Temperatures way below freezing are not uncommon in March. Especially away from the Black Sea.

Ukraine is the second largest country in Europe.
The Russians are a long way from home. The Ukrainians have blown up bridges to prevent re-supply. The Russian are without food and petrol and having to resort to raiding local petrol stations. (Difficult when the local power station has been blown up.)
A tank only does around a half mile to the gallon.
The Germans lost WW2 for exactly these reasons.
So no big surprise, the MSM stories make complete sense.
HarryAgain strikes again!
With total anything Russia (boo-hiss) blackout, HA has a ‘Russian Source’ who tells him the Russians have no food and petrol.
To use the astronomer Dobson’s reply to the question as to existence of black matter – Not very likely is it???
Last line
. . .surprise, the MSM stories make complete sense to HarryAgain and his secret sources.
There, fixed it for you.
The first time in a long, long time I listened to the budget – in between the time I was fixing the tractor.
I heard talk about the G7. I’m sure that means something to somebody, but I can’t name the seven. Perhaps a checkout worker, a dustbin man, a hotel worker, knows?
Ritchie is a poor orator. One of his pauses allowed a member of the opposition to declare ”oh he’s finished already”.
After that it sounded to me like a rugby coach trip.
They’re knocking the pub down – boo!
They’re building a bigger one – hooray!
Is only gonna be one bar – boo!

Only gonna be one barmaid – boo!
One each that is – hooray!
Barmaids are gonna wear black stockings – boo!
Only black stockings – hooray!
I’ll stop there
No mention of VAT. Insinuation that the black Covid death caused all our problems. No mention of the black economy. Veiled promotion of the NHS. We are reducing this that and the other – hooray! But we are going to get it all back – silence.
Surprise there was no overt it was Russia what done it.
I see also the government, about six months ago, decided to reduce the already emasculated armed forces even further. But, we can send arms, ammunition and suchlike to Ukraine. As the Chancellor said our security is paramount. Is the Prime Minister going to do when he says will call out the army to assist here?
Worrying the reduction in armed forces. Even before the present round of cuts, on comparison with a country of similar population that I am very familiar with, they are already well under half strength. I suppose Boris prefers to rely on his globalist mates to defend us. Some hope!
Jack…………make no mistake about it this government is led by a hopelessly clueless individual who is politically naive in the extreme, has not delivered the Brexit we all voted for, has permitted the continuance of mass immigration, has a mighty big loose cannon of a mouth and absolutely no tact whatsoever insofar as the Ukraine-Russia situation is concerned, and has pretty much zero respect from other world leaders. His party will be on the receiving end of one hell of a thumping in the local elections in May, and unless things change and the Conservative Party sees sense and dumps him in the ditch where he belongs, they will go on to lose the next general election as well, and lose all the goodwill that was given to them in 2019. It wont just be a case of losing these red wall seats we all so frequently hear about, but lose a whole swathe of Conservative seats in the South which I believe will go Liberal Democrat. The big problem for us on the right of centre, is that we have no viable alternative to vote for as Reform UK doesn’t cut the mustard in any way shape or form, and the other parties including UKIP will not have the where with all in terms of manpower, candidates and finances to compete apart from in a handful of seats. All very depressing.
Multi-national PR. consultants and anyone who can afford them… The Pentagon ?, Democrats.? UKIP ?
Projection, hypocrisy, hyperbole and misinformation, are now truly off the scale, and ever more obvious to anyone awake. There was a report that the Ruskies had ‘opened fire’ on ‘hundreds of protesters’, with all the implications that conjures up. When you saw the footage it was between 80 and a hundred scattered across a large plaza, with three TEAR GAS explosions at some distance, and few were even running away, just moving. Compare that with the treatment meted out to protesters in Ottawa, say.
Midst all the speculation as to why Putin used the Kinzhal missile, the target on the Polish border just inside Ukraine was ignored. No one mentioned that Putin said they would destroy any new armaments and equipment shipped in by the West, and that single missile took out a bunker housing just such equipment. They also detest mercenaries, which is why, in another strike, they also took out many newly arrived from across the Polish border before they could deploy. Where the latter was mentioned, talk was simply that some arrivals used cell phones and gave a way their position. Shallow; always shallow.
US Democrats are deepy worried about Biden’s legacy – i.e. lawless cities in flames and ordinary Americans rendered poor – and one wonders if a war with Russia is opportunistically (if not also by design) providing the cover, the fracture, that allows them to create a different legacy. Why mention chemical weapons now as though a red-line for direct intervention? We do not see what goes on behind the scenes, which lead to ‘coincidences’ in statements by Western governments, nor do we know what Western governments really think a negotiated peace might look like. Indeed, their support for a ‘negotiated settlement’, the headline ressponse to wars they have no interest in, is conspicuously absent. For the past 70 years, the West’s military involvments have been in seeking regime change of one kind or another, on and off and more on than off, in most of the wars that they directly and indirectly get entangled. The abject failure in nearly every case does not seem to affect their thinking. It is a dangerous world and not just from dictators.
SY- I dont disagree. The question I ask is WHO is running america? It certainly is not the cardboard-cutout called the President.
One may pose the same question in GB. The butterfly pm doesnt have the attention span of a goldfish. So WHO is running GB? I dont see any GB politician with the necessary IQ or leadership qualities.
As to the unelected brussels ‘elite’ – von der plastic hair the fuhrein? Their whackin’ big parliament has no say. Perhaps someone thas a plan to enlarge the sheep pen. Who has decided on You Crane – anyone?
Bottom line. Who is truely running the show(s)?
Well according to Alex Thompson, ex-GCHQ and regular contributor to UK Column, who appears to have encyclopaedic knowledge of these things and many other things, in his testimony to Reiner Fuellmich’s Grand Jury, it is the Khazarian bankers in the City of London via Chatham House and the Privy Council. We often think of politicians of nation states as being puppets, but their puppet masters the WEF/Davos/UN/WHO clique are themselves gophers for the age-old lineage in the shadows at the top. Remember today’s conspiracy theory is tomorrow’s truth.
Corporations may be up there with ‘the age-old lineage’ when it comes to setting the agendas of elected western governments.
The Network is forty years or so old but the boardroom speech is as relevant today as it was back then.
Uncontrolled, unmanaged and running wild Civil Servants, on the same lines as ours, but much less supervision , as MEPs seem to have little or no power, responsibility or authority at all over anything.
