The Nation’s ‘Party Venue’?
It’s getting silly now. There’s another ‘uproar’ about “A Party” at No 10, and there’s the situation in the Ukraine. Both these items demonstrate that our MSM editors all sing from the same hymn sheet. Moreover, they show that none of them look at their own archives.
It’s futile for me to point out yet again that they have no culture of doing research, never mind asking inconvenient questions. They seem to have forgotten how to do that during their fat days of providing only covid propaganda for the last two years. After all, with the cry of ‘fake news’ and ‘granny killer’, every critic had his mouth taped shut. And now, when we truly deserve clear reporting, when we need critical voices, they don’t know how to do their duty.
Let’s look at the ‘No 10 Home News’ first. Th is morning’s headlines shout that in June 2020 Johnson ‘had a birthday party in his honour’ in No 10. The DM has a breathless report, under a screaming headline asking if this is ’the killer blow’ (link). The DT writes:
“Carrie Johnson, the Prime Minister’s wife, and Lulu Lytle, the interior designer redecorating the Johnsons’ Downing Street flat, were both reportedly in attendance. A Number 10 spokesman confirmed that Mr Johnson had attended the event but insisted the Prime Minister was there for less than 10 minutes and that staff gathered “briefly” for the event” (paywalled link)
Thank you for digging this out, ITV! Wasn’t one of the TV presenters also ‘caught out’ and had to go into quarantine? The Times adds this helpful little snippet to their ‘Birthday Gate’ report:
“Rishi Sunak, the chancellor, who was arriving for the Covid meeting, is understood to have also briefly attended but sources stressed that he had “not been invited”.” (link, paywalled)
Dearie me – Sunak is a gate crasher! Never mind that he was arriving for that covid meeting. Did none of the other ministers attending that meeting say ‘Happy Birthday’ to Johnson on their way to yon meeting? One name especially is conspicuously absent in this ‘party saga’. Did a certain Mr Gove not wish ‘Happy Birthday’ to his PM?
There are two other aspects to this scandal. One is: all those people, love them or loathe them, were working in No 10, to keep the lockdowned country running. Johnson actually lives above the shop, as does Sunak. Do the ‘get him’ crowd in the MSM believe this country should have been run by everybody WFH and those unfortunates who had to be present should have just done their work, muzzled up, sanitised to the hilt?
Presumably they themselves strictly observed every covid rule even though journalists were ‘exempt’ from lockdown restrictions. So were other ‘key workers’. Did none of them have a birthday celebration at work? Is every single one of those now screeching for Johnson’s head over that birthday party a firm believer in ‘quod licet Jovi (they themselves being a god, in their own minds, of course) non licet lock downed bovi’ – with us peasants being the cattle?
Here’s the other strange thing: does anyone really, truly believe that these parties were a state secret, that none of the baying hack pack knew anything about them at the time? If they knew – and I am sure they must have – why didn’t they write about it then? They did go to town about Cummings, after all. So: why now?
There’s another point agitating the hack pack: Ms Gray’s report will allegedly not be published in full: “Downing Street reiterated that it may be left to Boris Johnson to decide what is published from the report into the “partygate” scandal” (paywalled link). It’s quite delicious – let Johnson publish the rope with which he’ll be hanged. I only wonder if any of the Westminster writers have ever heard about ‘privacy laws’. Also, are they so very certain that names of their colleagues and ‘source’s won’t be mentioned?
Cummings meanwhile has told the MSM that he “has refused to meet Sue Gray in person as he feared Boris Johnson would “spin it to the media” (paywalled link), so let me give you the link to his blog which he updated on January 17th. He opened this entry to non-subscribers – those who want to read his stuff will have to shell out £100p.a. Enjoy!
And so to the ‘Ukraine crisis’ and the ongoing sabre rattling. I do wonder about the Ukrainian politicians, from their president down to ambassadors. For them, it’s not sufficient that Biden has now put 8,500 troops on standby (link). No, they are now screeching about the US and us repatriating embassy staff, being of one mind with the EU:
“Ukraine has attacked the UK and US over their embassy pullouts, as President Volodymyr Zelensky praised EU diplomats for remaining to do their jobs amid mounting fears of a Russian invasion. Both Kyiv and the EU on Monday said withdrawing diplomats from embassies in the country in preparation for a potential conflict was premature, casting doubts over how imminent any attack could be.” (paywalled link)
I confess, I cannot make head nor tail of this astonishing accusation. Is an attack imminent or isn’t it? Are the Ukrainians not prepared? Do they believe it won’t happen? Didn’t they litter our papers with ‘rumours’ of Putin preparing a coup in December 2021 – which didn’t materialise? Wasn’t Putin supposed to have attacked Kiev a week ago, according to Ukrainian ‘predictions’?
Are the Ukrainians not really expecting Putin to actually attack now? Are their sometimes very undiplomatic endeavours perhaps aimed at making the West give them armaments for free? I wrote yesterday that this sabre-rattling is a welcome distraction for our MSM, from reporting about the crumbling Covid edifice. Is that why some US string-pullers are apparently hell-bent on fuelling these flames now and not in winter 2020 and April 2021 when the same situation pertained?
The BBC surely cannot be accused of providing fake news when they reported on 100,000 Russian troops at the Ukrainian border – in April 2021 (link)! I cannot recall any ‘diplomatic campaigns’ from the Ukraine at that time. Did they perhaps want Biden to settle into his new job as President? Perhaps they didn’t want to sully Ms Merkel’s last months in office as Chancellor, or they believed that a new German chancellor wouldn’t need to be given time to get his feet under the table.
Perhaps it’s about concerted efforts to damage even further the German economy by imposing sanctions on Putin. Such sanctions would hit Germany hardest – but then, who’d pay for all the lovely EU funds helping all and sundry?
Here’s another rather silly sanctions-threat by the USA: restricting Putin’s access to semiconductors so that Russians wouldn’t get new smartphones (link). Semiconductors are mostly made in Taiwan. Are some in the USA seriously thinking they can twist Taiwan’s arms, as quid-pro-quo for defending them against China?
I’ll conclude with my usual accusation: the Westminster MSM are not doing their job properly. They must have been aware of all those ‘parties’ in 2020. Why didn’t they publish at that time? Are they writing only what their precious sources tell them to? At the time of the trougher scandal we learned that the lobby journalists knew but were scared of losing ‘access’ to Blair’s MPs, so they kept silent. Today’s lot must be as scared as their colleagues were then.
This time round however they don’t seem to notice that they’re being dragged through the streets by their own nose rings, by their ‘sources’ who want regime change. Note that we thick plebs are not expected to ask anything – we have been conditioned to do as we’re told.
These ‘sources’ and those who are abusing our formerly free press are in for a rude awakening. We’ve long stopped trusting a word they say and write. We’re getting our news elsewhere.
TPTB are all stark raving mad. I have nothing more to say today!!!
You could add “…and very dangerous”.
The BBC recently informed us that English Common Law is now out of date, defunct. words to that effect. They truly are despicable.
And by the way, the photograph at the top is of one my colleagues standing outside 10, Downing Street. The photograph probably taken mid 1970’s, in the days when the Police were so much smarter, had the respect of most of the population, and weren’t afraid of using their powers bestowed upon them to preserve property and keep the peace. And of course in those days one could walk up Downing Street and walk right past Number 10 and walk down the steps at the other end. Those days have long gone, unfortunately…….
What price gas from USA?
And will we have a guarantee (special relationship) that at least we will get enough for all our needs.
To me this would make sense, the US need a functioning ally in the Far East to deal with China, they could not trust The EU and NATO would have been “bitty” at best. So that was part of the reason for the Australian Nuclear Sub deal.
I trust Germany and France won’t get any priority in US fracked gas
Oh yes the BBC most definitely can be accused of fake news with regard to at least one item in its online news today and that is with regard to the alleged worsening of the Covid 19 pandemic where school pupils are absenting themselves in growing numbers in addition to thousands of teachers for the same reason, including 23,000 who are off work for non Covid reasons. The standards of journalism in that BBC edifice is utterly woeful to the point now where standards are gradually slipping I think to third world countries under an authoritarian dictatorship. One just cannot believe anything that is written or indeed spoken under a BBC banner any longer. And they make this announcement when the numbers of Covid cases are going down right across the country, where hospital admissions are falling and less deaths are occurring, and in the week that all Covid restrictions are ending. Get lost BBC you’re all a total waste of space, and go and get yourselves a proper job somewhere is my message to these hopeless journalists and the useless irks who supposedly manage them. Defund the BBC. Make it a subscription service for those gullible citizens wanting to read and view absolute tripe on a daily basis. Thank goodness I got rid of my TV and Sky package and satellite dish. A good book is so much rewarding and satisying……..
I quoted, yesterday, a number of points raised on GBN by a Ukraine analyst. One I forgot was that the US has surplus gas, thanks to fracking, and any conflict or tension with Russia would drive up gas prices even further and restrict or possible sever supply from Russia. I cannot see a connection, can you?
And lo; there it was, a sub-heading in Telegraph Business today, as though it were a surprise: “Britain set to import record levels of gas from the US.” You couldn’t make it up.
Yeah, its seems all news providers are absolute cobblers these days. And I bet the journalist/presenter never picked on what this Ukrainian analyst said. We need to be self sufficient insofar as fuel needs are concerned in this country. That is what true independence is all about, and we’re not going to get that until we have a decent government in place which has its finger on the pulse. The government of Boris Johnson is so woefully inadequate, they need to hang their heads in shame. I have said this so many times now, but nothing seems to happen and losing hope, but one last time ‘Come on Nigel get yourself back into frontline politics, put a decent right of centre political party together which we can all support and get behind, and get yourself elected into the bargain. It cannot be done sitting in a radio station studio behind a microphone…….
It was a proper discussion, Colin. I think the analyst was with Mark Dolan and the very old school Robert Fox, knowledgeable and respected on defence and international relations. Proper informative dialogue exploring he background, status and potential. More info and sense in 10 mins that the rest put together for a year.
On your other point, Laurence Fox was on separately and said he gets on well with the other new parties, and had no leadership ambitions as such, just in getting together a force to challenge the government and make a difference. The implication I took was that it was not HIS ego stopping it happening.
Phil O’Sophical………..that’s just as well because Reclaim which he leads only got 375 votes at the Shropshire North by election a few weeks ago, after reports stated that they were making in roads and on the verge of a breakthrough etc. They did in fact have a good candidate in Martin Daubney who was in fact a former Brexit Party MEP. However Reclaim were beaten by UKIP who got three more votes at 378 and Reform UK got 1434 votes, which in itself was much less than UKIP was getting in its heyday. Unless these right of centre political parties form some form of loose electoral alliance preferably led by Nigel Farage, they are not likely to make much of an impression. Farage holds the key, that I am 100% sure about.
The one point which is never raised about the Boris parties is the obvious conclusion that either the participants did not believe that the lockdown policies were necessary or that they enjoyed some magical immunity. Given the impossibility of the latter one can only conclude that the former applies.
That being the case and, taking into account Boris’ subservience to the policies of the globalists such as the green nonsense and population reduction, I can only conclude that his government is truly the enemy within and is seeking to oppress us by any available means including flooding our country with aliens.
We should look at the state of other countries with a significant Muslim minority or competing factions of Islam. Such people always cause trouble. Is that just another intent of current government policy?
Mass immigration to Britain. One last decade of mass migration and by 2230 the demographics may have changed so much that by 2040/50 white indigenous Britons will become a minority in their own country. Game set and match to the globalists and liberal progressives. Britain, Canada, Australia USA and other European countries will replace their white indigenous identity with a new multi-cultural identity which is what the globalists and liberal progressives have patiently and enthusiastically worked towards possibly since the end of WW2. The track record of the Tories on mass immigration suggests this unwritten project is safe in the hands no matter who is their leader.
That should read ‘by 2130′. and 2140/50’.
Don’t know if was Benjamin Franklin or some other US figure over 200 years ago who mused at the credulity of those who read read the papers considering they were better informed. Viv remarked that the Westminster press are ‘not doing their job properly’ and asked what has happened to our ‘former free press’. Did the MSM ever do their job ‘properly’ and have we ever had a free press?
