Westminster Remain denizens at work …

Clearly, we have no problems whatsoever: covid is in retreat, the inflation will be under control, somehow, the planet doesn’t need to be saved and whatever happens far, far away in the Ukraine won’t affect us even though the PM has said he’ll send troops to help defend ‘our European allies’ should Putin invade the Ukraine (paywalled link). No, these aren’t problems at all. According to this morning’s MSM “we” have only one problem which they believe overshadows everything else: Partygate, ‘that’ Gray Report and the Met police investigation.

Today’s headlines make it abundantly clear that there are ‘cabinet colleagues’ who are actively working with the MSM to undermine Johnson with secret, hostile briefings. They’re working hand-in-glove with editors who crave getting the most blood-thirsty headline. I say ‘they’ because we do not know who those ‘cabinet ministers’ are. Of course I have my suspicions. There’s one minister who is well-known as ‘snake-in-the-grass’ and whose name is so very suspiciously absent from all those breathless reports – nuff said!

Yesterday No 10 made clear that the PM would see the report first, amidst a kerfuffle about the whole thing being made public or just a summary. This morning we read that “Sue Gray is understood to have told No 10 she expects findings to be released in full within ‘hours’ of receipt” (link) – crikey! So this country’s PM is allegedly being given orders by an unelected mandarin and the MSM think this is alright? Let that sink in!

Remember this isn’t about the PM having invaded another country under false pretences, this isn’t about putting the country into lockdown based on ‘worst-case scenario’ models, this isn’t about ‘vaccine mandates’ or the destruction of our civil liberties with ‘covid passport mandates’. This is about ‘parties’.

It’s above all about a disturbing, secretive alliance of faceless mandarins, snakes-in-the-grass and MSM editors: all Remainers, all keen to roll back Brexit by making us Rejoin. This can only happen with Labour in power – and so, after the first shock of the pandemic having passed, they’ve trained their guns on this government. Having got rid of Cummings has simply whetted their appetite.

It’s noteworthy that none of the above ever question the validity of all those covid measures. None of the esteemed Westminster hack pack asks: weren’t these restrictions rather silly, and isn’t it time to scrap them? No – it’s full-out war now. While the Red Tops are already salivating about photos coming out, allegedly showing ‘Boris next to wine bottles’ (link), there’s a ridiculous, fabricated ‘outrage’ about “Boris keeping ministers in the dark” about the Met Chief making an announcement that the Met were to investigate:

“Boris Johnson did not tell his cabinet ministers that the Metropolitan Police had decided to investigate Downing Street parties, leaving them to be among the last at Westminster to find out. The prime minister is understood to have been told shortly before his weekly cabinet meeting yesterday that Dame Cressida Dick, the Met’s commissioner, had decided to start her own inquiries into the allegations of lockdown rule-breaking. He decided not to tell his secretaries of state, meaning they found out only when the meeting ended — after Dick made the announcement to a committee of the Greater London Assembly.” (link, paywalled)

Let’s not ponder the fact that Ms Dick didn’t hold a press conference but just told a London Assembly Committee (Lab) she would investigate. I think that the actual reason for this fabricated outrage is that some Cabinet ministers experienced ‘hurty feelz’: “It is thought the Cabinet found out at least 20 minutes later than the rest of the public.“ (paywalled link). The public being informed before cabin ministers? Outrageous! These ministers also don’t seem to care that they’re making their assistants and SpAds look  incapable of fielding questions:

“Cabinet ministers found themselves being bombarded with questions about the police investigation as they left 10 Downing Street to return to their departments.” (link, paywalled)

Terrible, innit! There’s worse: the MSM are eagerly and happily crowing that Johnson will now face being interviewed by Met police officers (link, paywalled). They must believe that they themselves, as pure as the driven snow , are untouchable even though we read in another report that:

“Detectives from the Metropolitan Police will try to seize material that may have been withheld from Sue Gray’s inquiry into Downing Street parties as part of the force’s criminal investigation, which is set to last weeks. […] There have been claims that Downing Street officials and aides have deliberately withheld information from the Cabinet Office inquiry amid concerns about being implicated.” (link, paywalled)

Note that the Gray Report isn’t even out yet but there are already ‘some claims’ that information was withheld. Who made those claims? Why didn’t they tell Ms Gray during her investigations? Was it because these ‘claimants’ were waiting for a much better occasion to throw dirt at the whole No 10 set-up? Are the gossiping ‘journalists’ not aware that now they themselves will come under the police spotlight, that perhaps even their own ‘source’s might be implicated (my emphasis):

“Investigators can deploy the full force of their powers, including seizing phone records and requiring any guests to submit to interviews, to uncover the truth behind the series of events in Downing Street and Whitehall.” (link, paywalled)

I am sure the Westminster denizens – all except those in No 10 – must believe themselves to be safe. After all, who’d leak their private emails and party invitations to ITV or the BBC! After all, they’re not exposed to a whirlwind aimed at getting them out of their job. After all, the met police is now only ‘investigating because they’ve been cleverly pushed into it. The DT has a lengthy report on the dithering of the Met police to get involved where we read:

“The Metropolitan Police had done its utmost to stay out of the partygate row. On December 8 […] the force said it had looked at all the evidence but it “does not provide evidence of a breach of the Health Protection Regulations”.” (paywalled link)

Let’s disregard the fact that the Met police which cannot investigate “Extinction Rebellion activists”, never mind murders and drug trafficking is now throwing their resources at  … ‘Partygate’! Let’s ask what has changed since December, let’s ask who profits from destabilising this government or at least the PM. Are there secret Labour agents working in No 10 to help the Westminster Remainers to get rid of Johnson and thus of Brexit? Or are there some Tory ministers who believe that getting rid of Johnson would finally see them at the pinnacle in No 10?

Perhaps they might ponder what Jacob Rees-Mogg said on Newsnight yesterday, that a successor to Johnson ought to call a General election (link). He is a very clever man, and many , myself included, regard this as a warning shot to certain Tories because it’s obvious that a GE now would see Starmer win, hands-down.

So there we have it: ‘Partygate’ trumps everything, from “Our NHS’’ and covid, from inflation and climate change to a tiny little war somewhere far away on the continent. All I say is that we’re in for a very rough ride. Not only are the mandarins, remainers all,  working against the elected government, they are working together with the Remain MSM.

I believe they reckon they’ll win ‘Rejoin’ because the two pandemic years have shown them that they can control, ahem: nudge us into doing things which we detest. And where are the conservative forces? Nowhere! They’re instead engaged in ego-warfare.

I wish I had more mugs to throw at walls …
