Check your smartphone – government is exhorting you by text message!
I am appalled. I am fewmin’, swinging from my non-existing chandeliers in fury, about such an abuse of power by Javid that my blood is still boiling.
This is why: on Boxing Day all – and I mean all – smartphones in this country, from John O’Groats to Landsend, from Fishguard to Lowestoft received a text message from the NHS, telling each and every phone owner to get boostered.
Firstly, for background, look at this lovely graph, showing that, depending on age groups, there are more smartphone holders than covid vaccinated, with nearly 99% of the 16 -34 old owning one. Secondly, also for background, the announcement that Javid was going to do this hardly made any waves in our beloved MSM. There was one report in the DT, paywalled here, published in the afternoon of Christmas Eve. Later that afternoon WalesOnline published their report, providing the text to be sent out:
“The message will read: “Get boosted now. Every adult needs a Covid-19 booster vaccine to protect against Omicron. Get your Covid-19 vaccine or booster. See NHS website for details.” (link)
To me, these two reports – there weren’t any others, as far as I could ascertain – look like targeted leaks to willing MSM editors, in order to gauge the public response to this plan. I’m saying this because the actual government press release came only out on Boxing Day, without the actual text. If your local paper has published such article on Christmas Eve, please tell us in a comment post.
Except for some irate comment posts under the DT article, there was no general uproar. That’s not surprising because surely even a lowly civil serpent must have known that the afternoon of Christmas Eve would be a perfect time to ‘hide’ bad news.
And so, faithfully following a certain M Juncker’s advice, of announcing something and then pressing ahead if nobody moans, the actual government press release was published on Boxing Day, the day this blanket booster text message was sent out. That press release is hair-raising, it is shameless and I urge you to read the whole thing here. The most concerning sentences are these:
“In partnership with UK phone networks, the UK Government will send out SMS texts on Boxing Day urging people to get a booster […] HMG would like to thank the Mobile Network Operators for their assistance in helping deliver the vitally important Get Boosted Now message.” (link)
Government ‘demands’ and the giant telecom networks not only comply but ‘help’ because ‘our NHS’ couldn’t do it on its own, for which there are good reasons! Reading the rest of that government press release demonstrates that this exercise was a covid booster campaign message, to make this country look like a ’winner’ in the international jabbing competition. It was not an ’emergency call’!
Truly infuriating however is the unprecedented invasion by government of our privacy. How dare they text us with a campaign text! I’ve done a bit of my own research and have asked friends and family if they’d got this thing. Some had to look especially, they’d not even seen this text, and were most upset once they found it. They’d not noticed it before I asked: what a resounding success for that Javid campaign!
The anger in some emails I received was palpable. One lady was hopping mad because she had two texts, one telling her she needed the two ’ordinary’ jabs first. A gentleman was bemused because he’d first received a text message giving him an appointment for receiving that booster and then getting this blanket appeal.
Some pointed out that this sort of texting by government went against government GDPR laws. Others said they’d binned it straightway. Some comment posters in the DT wrote that this message should be sent back, marked ‘spam’.
Apparently, this exercise comes under ‘emergency news’ which give government the right to send out a blanket text message covering the whole smartphone nation. That’s why I called this an ‘abuse of power’ because there are no ‘overwhelmed’ hospitals, there’s only a spike in +ve tests, because it’s a ‘national emergency’ only in the minds of the covid government.
However, given the pitiful response this texting achieved, they better think again about abusing their power and invading our privacy under the pretext of ‘emergency’. I say ‘pitiful response’ advisedly because not even the most booster~ and covid~obsessed report can hide the fact that only about 25,000 boosters were handed out on Boxing Day.
Not even NHS England in their stomach-churning report about hundreds of thousands of live-saving jabs given out in their “Jingle Jabs” (yes, really!) campaign can get away from the actual numbers (link) which the DM helpfully picked up yesterday (link).
They are totally blind to cause-and-effect, disregarding the fact that many hastened to get ‘that’ jab so they would be able to go to pubs, clubs, and New Year’s Eve festivities. Instead we read that Javid is ‘proud’ because 214,000 people got jabbed over the Christmas holidays! We also read that there are still 1.3 million appointments ‘available’ to get boostered.
Just look at those numbers: in order to get rid of 1.3 jabs, all 55 million smartphone holders got a blanket text, in a blatant abuse of government emergency powers. Let that sink in! Do not accept the facile ‘explanation’ that this was no spam, no invasion of privacy, no breaking of GDPR legislation because it was about ‘saving lives’!
We’re no longer in the same situation as in March 2020 when government sent out such blanket text message (e.g. here). It was truly an emergency then, and while using this instrument was acceptable albeit questionable at that time, this time it most emphatically it is not.
However, since government has now abused this system for a campaign message, with no outcry it must be obvious that they can and will do so again. Nobody howled, some people did go and get jabbed, so it’s hi-fives all round in the DHSC. Other Whitehall departments and Johnson’s covid cabinet will have taken note: they can get away with this abuse.
The point of this ‘exercise’ wasn’t just to ‘sell more boosters to save lives’. It was to gauge people’s reactions to be texted and exhorted by government – a government which decides unchallenged what is and is not an ‘emergency’, a government which has created a precedent to abuse emergency powers in order to push a campaign.
I wonder if the spineless amoebas disgracing the famous green benches were even aware of this despicable stunt – not that they’d have said anything to stop it had they been told. You are of course free to make your anger known to them, by text and email. Why not ask if they also had this blanket text message, if they liked being texted by the NHS who now presumably has their private phone number?
I can’t even begin to describe how furious, how sickened I am, especially when I see that smirking face of this PM who graciously ‘permits’ us to enjoy New Year’s Eve after having permitted one of his ministers to trample all over our privacy during the Christmas Holidays.
Nowhere are we safe from unwanted government interference. Privacy Laws which we must adhere to can be trampled by government and nobody says a word. And some still believe this is all fine because we must protect you-know-what, that Sacred Cow which came up with “Jingle Jabs”!
Words stil fail me …
Thank you Biscotte good idea. Pauline you are right but I was thinking of our ability to find excuses for not doing that which is harmful to health, physical and mental. Alas the young are totally hooked and would bump into you in the street while looking at their Smart phones. Yes perhaps not the phone but we should question what else is going on. In one respect perhaps Smart phones are a drug!
This is a great sign I saw posted today.

Lisa I absolutely love it! I would like to see more of the same sort of signs going up everywhere.
Not all smartphones received the text. At least 5 I know of didn’t.
I’d be very interested to know why – and especially how. Were they able to protect their smartphones somehow? That would be of huge interest to all.
As I approach the midnight hour no sign of any government message on iPhone, iPad, or steam mobile phone, who do I complain to
I know my surgery has my mobile phone number and I have had previous correspondence from NHS on my ipad
I’d really love to know why that is, Roger! There have been several comment post writers who said they’d not received that ominous text message. The reason why deserves to be investigated because it might help people to shield their smartphones and old ‘steam mobiles’ from government intrusion.
Did you receive the 2020 message on your smart~ and steam~phone, telling everybody to stay at home? If so – what has changed between then and now?
It could also be possible that you and others have a powerful ‘spam removal’ programme installed …
I’d love to hear more, and I’d love to hear your thoughts!
Sorry don’t have an answer Viv, except to say I turned off Blue Tooth on iPhone and iPad a while ago and they are still in the off position
I’m no tech wizard, but I wonder if that might be the reason. worth copying, because there’ll be a ‘next time’ .
My phone is NOT a smartphone. I received the text, not sure when.
On an ordinary, not smart, mobile phone there is no facility for reporting spam.
There may be a facility to block calls from a particular number. There was on my previous phone. But as I remember the call (now deleted) there was no indication of what number it came from.
It was not possible to text back, or ring. Tried that. I would have texted if I could.
Up till now I had thought that Government had actually persuaded the telephone companies to text all their customers, rather than hand over numbers for N.H.S. to text.
That would not be quite so bad since obviously my telephone company needs to know my phone’s number.
I am now confused about smartphone owners that have blocked calls if they came from the telephone company itself!
Incidentally, for a quite different reason I have recently told my G.P. practice that I no longer have a mobile phone as it was not working properly and I would not replace it.
So in theory the N.H.S. should have thought I had no mobile phone. But obviously my phone company know I have this new phone and as it happens it is the same company and the same number – (saved me having to tell everyone I did want to be able to contact me.)
Slightly different but related. Fairly recent, we were alerted on here to forbid the release of our medical details and other info to the central control of the N.H.S. (Their excuse was that it was helpful to have medical details on record if I was taken into hospital in an emergency.)
I did take my details off the N.H.S. website or whatever it is. I did that from this laptop.
But as far as my G.P.s know, I do not have access to any computer.
(While they knew I had a mobile phone they kept assuming it was a smart phone and acted like a computer. That is why I told them I no longer had a mobile phone.)
All the bumph I have had from N.H.S. re Covid has come by post not either phone or computer till now – that text!
Two hundred yrs ago the sappers and miners (now Royal Engineers) fought with spades and axes.
I saw a demo of of this – hand to hand fighting. There was no way of getting close to these guys without having some part of you chopped off. Maybe not swordsmanship but definitely a lost skill.
The comments about banning crossbows, bows and arrows is similar to that of banning knives. How are you going to legislate? OK possesion,
But, I have rubber suckers (how appropriate) on arrows. For the kids dont you know?
Cut down a tree; fashion a bow; some dowling and voyler as the french say. Even seen books to make bows out of stuff like bathroom piping.
If you want to go up market, a cart spring off of an old lorry, two inch pipe arrow, choose you own spike. How hard is it? The trigger mechanism for this beast dates back more than 2,000 yrs.
Carrying an Offensive Weapon including a knife is already an offence and carrying other sharp instruments like blades and needles etc commonly known as Bladed Articles in a public place is also still an offence. When I was a police officer I wasn’t afraid to exercise my powers of search under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984, and consequently stopped and searched between 150 and 200 people each month. I have hundreds of knives and bladed articles and indeed firearms in my time as a result of such a search. Time for Chief Constables/Commissioners and other senior police officers of the 2020’s to get a grip, and allow the men and women supposedly under their command to do their job without one hand tied behind their backs. And get back to basics of enforcing the law. All this was bread and butter stuff during my 35 years of being at the sharp end on the streets. Its a sad fact of life that not everybody is law abiding and will carry weapons to inflict harm upon others. And stop worrying about whether arresting someone is an infringement of their human rights. The law is their to protect the majority, and that majority wants the police to do their job and clean up the streets. We need a radical overhaul of policing in this country and some of these university educated lefties who joined the police and became senior officers who are afraid of their own shadows, need to be relieved of their positions.
Biscotte. ‘We will fight them . . . . .. . sea, we will fight them . . .. . air, and we will fight them on the beaches! (aside – I don’t know what we will fight them with). Well so I understand Churchill said.
Spades and axes eh?
Would pitchforks go through those inflatables the invaders are using, to land on our beaches?
Let’s all go down and fight them ‘on the beaches’!
Biscotte & Pauline. Just a reminder.
The death machine is miles away, you cannot see it or hear it, but thanks to Julian Assange we now know what ‘Light em Up’ means.
Unfortunately JA is and will suffer badly for letting us know this.
Bows, arrows, spades and forks will do the trick but only if every ‘person’ (pcc) wields them together constantly.
An interesting article from ZeroHedge. It appears all of the revolting ‘experts’ are rushing to get ahead of the narrative as news gets out that Covid these days is a disease of the vaccinated.
“Omicron Forces “Health Experts” to Rush to Turn the Narrative”
https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2021-12-27/omicron-forces-health-experts-rush-turn-narrative
We are in an information war, we must not allow the tyrants to keep perpetuating their lies.
Great piece today Viv! All my sentiments entirely!
What other personal information did govt harvest from the phone companies?????
Of course there was no general uproar!! When do people ever complain these days about govt intrusion?
Yes the exercise was a ‘success’. No general outcry. So now look out for ‘Big Brother’ reaching into our lives with his slimy tentacles anytime he likes! What next???? Listening in to our phone calls? Watching our texts????
Abuse of power of what tyrannical governments do!
GDPR – is only for ‘little people’! Govts. do just as they like!!
Most obnoxious of all there is no way to ‘block’ the blighters out other than ditching our phones altogether!!!!
They are despicable! (And desperate now!!!)
F- If the uS listened to Merkle’s mobile phone conversations, which they apologised for . . . then your ‘Listening in to our phone calls? Watching our texts????’ is way out of date.
I am sure you’re right Biscotte! My regular chats (on landlines) with my cousin in Wales) often used to get a sort of blank-out every so often! We used to laugh and say “evening GCHQ!” Haven’t had it happen lately. They must have refined their technique!
Viv, you said words fail you. But they didn’t; you nailed it!
My reaction was the same. How did they get my number? How dare they? Unsolicited text. Harassment. Blatant lie: that I ‘need a booster’. That gave it away as a mass mail shot rather than personal, because having had no jabs I certainly do not need a booster. I have my own booster pack: Vitamins D3 and C, zinc and Quercetin.
Numerous replies crossed my mind; rude, factual, awkwardly inquisitive. But in the end I simply blocked the number, which was probably futile.
Incidentally, anyone with jab-regret might try NAC (n-Acetyl Cysteine) which promotes glutathione to rebuild the immune system depleted by the jab.
Phil. Before Covid and because of my C.O.P.D., I was put on carbo cysteine capsules. They were said to loosen the phlegm in my lungs to help me cough it up (and spit it out).
From the start I felt they were making my lungs too dry, almost raw. I stopped taking them when I coughed up and spat out bloody phlegm. Just saying.
Will keep that in mind for family thank you Phil O.
I was also fuming when that intrusive text came through. I had to replace my old phone a few months ago and opted for one that would keep in touch with family and friends all over the world. I deleted it straight away in case it “infected” it. I wish I had thought of reporting it as spam. Bl–dy cheek.
I had given up my Smart phone earlier in the year. It was very inconvenient and I suffered withdrawal symptoms. The Smart phone is a very useful piece of technology that has been corrupted and is now a part of the prison we find ourselves in. When I was up smoking many decades ago I found many ways to convince myself that it was not necessary, from control to one or two fags a day to the value of ‘fumigating’ the lungs. We are inherently clever at doing that subconsciously. With the Smart phone if you must have one I can only suggest one gets a shield (double crisp packet may work?) for it and only get the tracking/spying device out when one really needs it. Turning it off is naive and will not work. One other thing we may be compelled to use QR codes from, yes, Smart phones.
Btw I received the text on my dumb phone also did anyone notice the ‘Get Boosted Now’ message on Royal Mail stamping of letters? I noticed them when receiving Christmas cards.
The link to ‘deconstructingconventional.com’ posted by Phil yesterday was brilliant.
Assuming you have a microwave, put your phone in it. (obviously not when the mw is on!).
It has a faraday cage to stop you from getting those nasty gamma and yobba rays when it is working.
I just dont have a well dressed phone. It is my answer to this rubbish.
Kim. There does seem to be an insidious difference between drugs (smoking) and modern technology. The drugs can be done away with, got out of our lives. Modern technology is everywhere. It is impossible to escape it completely.
Can I just say I do not have a smart phone. I have a simple voice and text phone. I also do not give out the number to anyone except family as its an emergency only phone . I keep a landline for all else. Neither the NHS or the GP have this number. I was livid that it was clearly given by my mobile provider and used in this way. Its an invasion of privacy.
Doesn’t matter what kind of mobile phone you have, smart or otherwise, Doris can text you courtesy of the sim card issuer. Even if you throw your sim away and pick another one up at a store for a couple of quid you would still receive a text.
Yes, it is an unecessary invasion of privacy indeed. And what do the Tories have next up their sleeves?
Abbey Sclerder. Well done. You have summed up my long winded reasoning on the matter.
My guess is that the mobile providers were bribed by the government, who used tax payers money to do it.
Given this Parliamentary record;
Sir John Redwood
Question:
To ask the Secretary of State for Health and Social Care, if he will list the drugs the NHS can use to treat covid-19 patients. (91820)
Tabled on: 13 December 2021
Answer:
Maggie Throup:
The following therapeutics are available to patients hospitalised with COVID-19 and in the community setting:
– Dexamethasone;
– Tocilizumab;
– Ronapreve; and
– Sotrovimab.
The following antivirals are available to patients in both hospital and community settings:
– Remdesivir;
– Molnupiravir; and
– PF-07321332
The answer was submitted on 23 Dec 2021 at 10:47.
Can there be any justifiable reason to promote the Booster injectate at all given it is an EUA elixer and there are now seven alternative treatments available? (Not that I would go near PF-07321332 having done some research on that particular Pfizzer product).
Well Remdesivir causes kidney failure. The lungs fill up and people are put down as dying from covid induced pneumonia. The two trials cited by Fauci as showing it to be ‘safe and effective’, show the opposite. Dr Bryan Ardis has publicised the actual data in those trials. Similarly Molnupirivir, another conveniently ‘rapidly developed’ drug was shown to be carcinogenic, according to UK Column News. But, hey, let’s just ignore the trials. What’s not to like?
Not on the list of course is Ivermectin. Both India and Japan (ONE covid death on Boxing Day), since turning to Ivermectin, have almost eradicated deaths from covid. Remember the hyped reporting from India; all gone quiet. Worldometer ranks countries by cases – not a reliable indicator because what countries record as ‘cases’ differs and how the discredited PCR test is manipulated differs, but it keeps the USA at the top. India is No.2 on cases, but rank countries by deaths-per-million and India is now down to 128th on the list and Japan 154th.
Phil neither is HCQ on the list.
For those readers who are wondering why HCQ and IVM is not on the list I would recommend the first 15-20 pages of Robert F Kennedy’s book ” The Real Anthony Fauci: Bill Gates, Big Pharma, and the Global War on Democracy and Public Health” £2.99 as an ebook from Amazon (hold your nose when ordering)
RFK Jr mentions the UK Recovery Trial where huge doses of HCQ were administered to seriously ill patients with predictable morbid consequences.
Remdesivir was used in a trial for the treatment of Ebola. It was withdrawn during the trial as it was killing people.
Get the book and read it. £2.99 and all profits go to Children’s Health Defense.
Ever wondered what PF-07321332 is? It’s all over the MSM innit? (not)

eg
Dec 21 · EMA’s CHMP advises on emergency use of Paxlovid for the treatment of COVID-19. Treatment can be considered for adults with COVID-19 who do not require supplemental oxygen and who are at increased risk of progressing to severe disease, starting as soon as possible after diagnosis of COVID-19 and within 5 days of the start of symptoms . The two active substances (PF-07321332 and ritonavir), which are available as separate tablets, should be taken together twice a day for 5 days [5].
Dec 21 · US FDA approves emergency use of paxlovid as an at-home treatment for mild-to-moderate COVID-19 in high-risk patients aged 12 and over who weigh at least 40kg [6].
Wonder what the MHRA review entailed?
= It’s by Pfizer = Approved EUA?
Let’s remember it was a Tory party that busied itself with the dismantling of our national sovereignty. They will stoop to anything I am afraid.
To follow up our exchange yesterday. This is worth reading or watching (it has good subtitles.)

The nub, about half-way through is this:
“What we are experiencing at this time is a gigantic act of desperation, probably the biggest that has ever occurred in the whole history of mankind. The cause of this act of desperation is that the system to which the digital-financial system owes its existence can no longer be kept alive with the previous business model. It was very close to its demise already during the world financial crisis of 2007-8. If governments then had not mobilised huge amounts of tax money, and the central banks instructed oodles of money to be created out of nothing, the system would have collapsed there and then.
“The situation in which the digital-financial complex finds itself is between the alternatives of, on one side the final collapse, and hyper-inflation on the other side. So, the total loss of value of money. That means, historically, we’ve arrived at a point in which the digital-financial complex, in the framework of the existing system, only still has the choice between two various forms of collapse.
“Quite clearly they have, in this situation, chosen to install a new system and a double strategy. On one side, in the background and away from public view, they are preparing a new system. And on the other side, they are using the end phase of the present dying system to plunder it using all tricks at their disposal.”
But he has hope.
“The plan of the elites, the visions of Klaus Schwab, are condemned to fail, and this is for several reasons.
The most important is that the narrative of a deadly virus, which is an existential threat to humanity, cannot be sustained in the long run.
We already see how the pack of lies is collapsing in on itself from all sides.
We see how, in efforts to legitimise it, resort is made to ever more absurd arguments and rabid defamation.
It is important to recognise here that the vehemence the media are displaying these days testifies not to their strength but to their weakness.”
How prophetic. This was last June. And the advent of the mild Omicron, by fluke, or design that went wrong, has given the game away. Their long-planned response is undeniably out of all proportion and folk can now see it, even through the media chaff.
Thanks P O’S. I go along with the findings of the article regarding the exponential growth of corporate power and the politicisation of Covid. For the former to be reformed we need a politician of the stature of Teddy Roosevelt to break up the equivalent of the ‘Robber Barons’ he successfully broke up and for the latter desperately need the public to wake up and say enough is enough of the covid nonsense.
I read a piece this morning in the daily Mail about Patel looking into crossbow legislation. Viv, your crystal ball must have been spot on back in October. Running amok with bow and arrows. Maybe your other prediction on home made flame throwers and spears may come also come true.
I saw that as well – but given the absolutely staggering success Priti has with all her ‘migration’ legislation, I think we can rest assured that crossbows will be ‘legal’ for some time to come. Mind you, I’d still advise keeping some nice gardening implements handy: spades and pitchforks, suitably sharpened, come to mind …
A spade in the hand won’t be any good against some armed goon. But if you used it to make a mediaeval oubliette…….. A few crocs down the bottom to keep ’em company when they get there…….
I copied mine and sent it as an email to my M.P. What is really annoying that they sent it to everyone regardless of them having all three jabs already , what next I wonder huge bill boards on street corners flanked by the ‘union flag’ of the Boris pointing a finger and exhorting , ‘Your country needs you to get jabbed’. Far fetched, my guess is that we have seen nothing yet, wait until the ‘jab squads’ aririve at your door!
The “jab Squads” at the door frighten me. I dont want them near my home. Homes should be places of security and comfort. They should be sacrosanct. This is tantamount to going round like a heavy handed door to door salesman. It shouldnt be legal. I dont want anymore of these jabs now. I dont believe they work. If I want a jab I will go and get it. I dont want it coming to me.
Abbey Scierder. They don’t frighten me. They fill me with total disgust and contempt. The criminals are getting that desperate because the game’s up now.
There was a Zero Hedge article about this but it said that 5% of us in UK were unvaxxed. The truth is nearer 20-25%; this was discussed on this forum a few days ago.
Stand firm, don’t be intimidated by these criminals.
