As the weekend is in sight the Ministry of Propaganda, a.k.a. MSM, are back on their favourite pastime: publishing fear porn. The Farage-NatWest scandal is now safely behind us, or so they hope. Now it’s finally the time of opinion piece writers and that’ll be that.. There is one other grisly and truly frightening news item which has already turned my stomach. This is a fair warning: get yer sickbags now!

First, the fear porn: “Newspaper headlines: ‘Global boiling’ and ‘Harry hacking claim thrown out’.” (link). It seems neither the MSM nor the climate fear-mongers have learned from the covid years: once people realise that the reality which they experience is nothing at all as the MSM describe, the game is over.

How can they screech about ‘the globe is boiling’ when here in the UK as well as in all of Northern Europe this month has been cold, wet and miserable? Are we not part of ‘the globe’? What will they come up with when the harvest will fall short of expectations, driving up food prices even further? Will they clamour for ‘moar Net Zero’? Or will an incoming Labour government do as a certain Mr T.B. says?

This brings me to the ghastly piece of news I warned you about: Blair is back and it’s worse than we imagined. The DT, making him sound ever so reasonable, reports (all emphases are mine):

Sir Tony Blair has warned against asking the public to do a “huge amount” to tackle climate change, saying Britain’s net zero efforts cannot solve global warming alone. The former Labour prime minister stressed that climate change was the “single biggest global challenge” and said “Britain should play its part” in tackling it. However, he pointed out that what the UK could achieve would be dwarfed by the impact of actions by countries such as China.” (paywalled link)

You might think that yon erstwhile PM is only trying to hog the political limelight, but here’s why this is worse than we think, as described by Fraser Nelson in the DT, pointing out that Sir Tony, having created his own ThinkTank, the Tony Blair Institute, with about 100 of its staff:

“[…] currently “embedded” in governments around the world – and not in the back office, either. A promotional video trumpets the position of the new Blairites “at the centre … whether that’s the president’s office or prime minister’s office.” They have been active in Nigeria, Rwanda, San Francisco, Serbia, Togo and many more. But there is one country that has, so far, resisted his clutches: his own. That may now be about to change.” (paywalled link)

This is where things become utterly scary: Tony’s Institute is now concentrating on their latest ‘project’: “The future of Britain”. Fraser Nelson writes:

“We can expect to see a good number of these Blairite staffers and allies transferred into a Starmer government. Some have started work already. Blairites are understood to have been instrumental in the process for selecting Labour MPs – perhaps the most profound means of shaping the next parliament. It’s not so much  a Blairite restoration but regeneration.” (paywalled link)

Interesting, isn’t it: not the constituents, the ‘hard-working families’ get to select their Labour representative but Blair’s Institute staffers. Moreover, the names Nelson mentions show how blatant nepotism is rampant in Labour:

“Take Hamish Falconer, whose father, Charlie, was Blair’s onetime flatmate and Lord Chancellor. He has been selected to stand for Labour in the very winnable seat of Lincoln. Blair-era donors – Lord Levy (remember him?) and Lord Sainsbury – are also back, paving the financial road back to No 10.” (paywalled link)

Speaking of finances: the Gates Foundation is apparently one of the big donors for Blair’s institute. Perhaps that’s why he’s so keen on ‘global’ projects:

He seems more interested in hawking products like digital identity cards (there are Blair Institute memos boasting about their success in getting this past Boris Johnson, in the form of vaccine passports). Is he supported by any firms who would benefit from this? We have no idea.” (paywalled link)

Indeed “we” have no idea – not least because our ever so outstanding Westminster MSM prefer to provide fear porn while also pushing Starmer into No 10. Investigating TB’s affairs? Oh no – they’d lose their precious ‘sources’! Even more frightening is this:

Blair is now openly mulling “the best role for me to play” when Labour returns to power. His empire, he says, will of course be at the disposal of the Starmerites to “be used however they wish it to be used, in the sense of advising and introducing and all of that”.” (paywalled link)

It is of course so much better to pull strings in the background, to ‘introduce’ staff to provide more strings Blair can pull, and to have MPs which are sworn to support Blair projects in the HoC! After all, as string-puller he won’t have to face the ire of the electorate ….

Will he squash Labour’s ‘Net Zero’ minister, Ed Miliband, or will he tell Starmer to be ‘populist’ and demand that, for example, British Gas be taxed to the hilt on their obscene profits: “British Gas profits jump to record £969m after price cap increase – Performance lifts earnings at parent Centrica to £2.1 billion” (link, paywalled)? On that background the generous proposal by British Gas, to give £50m back to customers, looks rather cynical. I’m sure this is an issue TB and his ‘staffers’ will pick up, correct?

By now we surely are aware that Blair has been playing a very long game. One aspect of this very long game is his reassurance for Remainers:

“Sir Tony Blair said he believes the UK will go back into the EU in the future, as a new poll showed support for rejoining the bloc was at a five-year high. The former Labour prime minister told the New Statesman magazine that “a future generation” would take Britain “back into Europe”.” (paywalled link)

Hasn’t this been the dream of Remain, that the old, bigoted leavers would die off and thus open the way back into the open arms of Brussels? Well, with Sir Tony’s help this might happen even earlier.

That’s all I have for today. Apologies for the sickening news, but better sick and forewarned than become truly sick thanks to ignorance. Have a good day.
