To celebrate Christmas, in ‘bubbles’ or on our own with virtual meetings, enjoy this version of one of our most loved carols in this old setting
Imagine a small town where everybody knows everybody else. All come together. Some sing together with the other citizens. Others sing in the choir. Some are gifted soloists whose voices soar. Some are playing instruments in the orchestra. Some are soloists. And then there are the town musicians, paid for by all. They stand on the towers of the town’s walls, calling the town’s people to the gates sounding drums and trumpets, in welcome or as warning.
As the people of that small town came together to perform this carol, each playing their part, so have we all come together in this year of 2020, to play our parts. Now it’s time to celebrate and be merry! Cheers!

I heard the Queen’s Christmas message at 3pm this afternoon. In it Her Majesty mentioned Mary Seacole as a nursing pioneer alongside Florence Nightingale. Yet in her autobiography “The Wonderful Adventures of Mary Seacole in Many Lands” she described herself as a licenced victualler & hotelier, not a nurse. So why has MS been recruited to the illustrious ranks of nursing pioneers, in contradiction of what she herself said ? What could the reason possibly be ?
Yep. She ran a hotel for officers, away from the front. Nightingale revolutionised recovery and treatment of battlefield wounded. No comparison.
Thank you Viv, Debbie and all concerned with trying to obtain a real Brexit, (Do we have a real Brexit !?)
Will us plebs see the 2000 pages of detail or will they be the same as the full report on petty-patel (Is it like the N/A produced daily for the number of COVID survivors or was the petty-patel full report actually published somewhere?)
Whatever you have kept me sane and have KBO for which I thank you again and wish you As Happy a Christmas as the rules allow – a real Brexit and a prosperous 2021 for us all.
Thank you for your good wishes Robin. Only time will tell whether or not we have a real Brexit or a Brexit In Name Only, and we at ID will do our best to scour every piece we can of that agreement and report back to our readers exactly what it means.
