As promised, here’s the report from the elections to the parliaments in the German ‘Laender’ Bavaria and Hesse. There’s not been anything in the ‘world’ news’ in our fabulous MSM, but I forgive them: the war in Israel does deserve the top spot, as do the reactions of our politicians, or rather: non-reactions. However, as usual, they prefer whataboutery rather than ask relevant questions. More – briefly – on this below. Also, the vote counts were only confirmed in the early hours of this morning, so there wasn’t sufficient time to be told how to spin these results.
Firstly, the numbers. I am referring in the following to various reports in the German paper ‘Die Welt’ which is in general not tainted by the red-green ideologies. You can use your machine translator of choice to read the reports, the graphs ae self-explanatory. The reports themselves are apparently not paywalled.
Keep in mind that the different parties all have their own colour. It’s black for the CDU and their Bavarian sister party CSU; red for the SPD, green for the Greens, yellow for the FDP (the German LibDems), blue for the AfD, storm-blue for the FW, and grey for all others which didn’t get 5% of the votes.
In Bavaria, the leader of the ‘Freie Wähler’, Hubert Aiwanger, won what they call a ‘Direktmandat’, i.e. he had sufficient votes to get a seat. directly, not over the party list. The campaign against him, kicked off by a German national paper, instigated by a retired red teacher and the Green party – I wrote about this here in an earlier column – damaged the instigators more than their target, Mr Aiwanger.
Firstly, the report with the graph of the official count for Bavaria (link, may be paywalled). For quick reference, the graph itself is here. Turn-out was 73.3%. The parties of the governing ‘Ampel’ coalition, i.e. SPD, Greens and Libs, all lost. So did, to a small amount, the CSU which nevertheless gained 37% of the votes. The FW (15.8%) are the second largest party after the CSU, the AfD is in 3rd place (14.6%).
This means that, roughly speaking, two thirds of the voters in Bavaria have voted for conservative parties. Keep in mind that all German parties are adamant not to speak with or, God forbid, go into a coalition with the AfD which they label as akin to the Nazi Party . Clearly, German voters disagree and are no longer scared into disregarding that Party.
Note also that the Greens are still clinging to their clientele, the financially secure, urban middle classes made up of civil servants, teachers and professors as well as the chattering ’elite’ in the German MSM. These are the people who aren’t affected by green policies, making up roughly 15% of voters.
Next, a quick look at the result of the elections in Hesse where the opinion of the voters is even more clear-cut regarding the losses of Red-Green-Yellow. The report is here (link, probably paywalled), the graph of the official result is here. Turn-out was 66%. Even though the German Libs managed to get over the 5% hurdle, the parties of the German coalition government, a.k.a. ‘Die Ampel’, lost hugely.
The AfD has become the 2nd largest Party in Hesse but of course, they won’t be invited to form a coalition government, for the reason I mentioned above. The ever so triumphant Greens have been relegated to fourth place in both Bavaria and Hesse.
There is another article on the Bavarian election, analysing the movement and migration of voters to and from those official parties (link, probably paywalled). The graphs are all self-explanatory and are categorised according to political party: CSU, Freie Wähler, AfD, Greens, SPD and FDP. One more graph, from a report (link, probably paywalled) on the demography of voters. The result is stunning: even amongst the younger voters the AfD is either neck-on-neck with the Greens or overtakes them.
I hope UK pollsters and election campaign managers take note: despite the continuous labelling of voters electing parties which the German MSM are describing as ‘far right, extreme hard right and practically Nazis’, Germans in both Bavaria and Hesse see them for what they are: proper conservative parties. They’ve voted accordingly.
Also note the turn-out of 2/3s or nearly 3/4 of voters. This puts the ‘victory’ of Labour in the Scottish by-election in perspective: a turn-out of 34% means that two thirds of the electorate went ‘NOTA’ – None of the Above. In Germany, this huge part of the electorate voted conservative …
I’ll finish with a few points regarding the war in Israel. It is astonishing that apparently neither Mossad nor their US allies were aware of the Hamas attacks. Allegedly, warnings might not have been given because of the current turmoil about the reform of the judiciary in Israel. If so: words fail me …
Moreover, Nethanyahu has allegedly warned in June already that weapons and armaments destined for the Ukraine had turned up in Gaza. At the same time, Israel, like many other countries, had their arms twisted by the USA to send their own weapons and armaments to the Ukraine. If so: words fail me ….
And finally: I note that our state media, the BBC and the Westminster MSM, are into top whataboutery. Why it is good to print photos of Hamas men carrying white bundles allegedly the bodies of their children but it too delicate to bring photos of Israeli kids, abducted and stuffed into cages, is beyond me. It’s not as if people didn’t look at social media images, kindly provided by Hamas via TikTok!

I attended the annual conference of the UK Independence Party today in Newport, south Wales, but not in person I hasten to add but online via Zoom, as I have to go to work tomorrow. Zoom is hit and miss at the best of times, and certainly the sound was not good for the morning session of the conference. It improved somewhat for the afternoon session, and one of the best speakers was that of Lembit Opik. What a re-invention he has undergone in recent years from being a Liberal Democrat MP in the House of Commons for Montgomeryshire to being a radio presenter and supporter of the UK Independence Party. He was mightily impressive to be honest and is an excellent orator without the aid of notes, has a charismatic air about him, a warm personality and could be easily understood. I have been wondering for some time now which centre right political leader we could rely on in the absence of Nigel Farage to take us forward, and perhaps that person could be Lembit Opik. Does anyone else have similar thoughts along this line?
Colin. At last years leadership election I think there were only two candidates. Neil Hamilton was elected to continue as leader. He has done a damn good job keeping the Party going under difficult circumstances. The Party is solvent but as older members pass on I am not sure where younger ones will come from to replace them. Having attended last years Party conference at which he was speaking, I too was impressed with Lembit Opik oratory skills – by far the most charismatic and entertaining speaker. Could he be the man to succeed Neil Hamilton? I somehow doubt it. He certainly knows his way around Westminster but could UKIP pay for a full time leader? Maybe if they had a rich sponsor come along, then yes; but if not, they would struggle with limited membership monies coming in. Secondly, would the media rake up his rather topsy turvy private life?

Some notes I made for a meeting to discuss “strategy” for the Local elections in 2019.
We have to introduce the “NEW UKIP”, its not much different from the old one.
We have just celebrated our first 25 years of existence and we are sure everybody will have been aware of substantial changes, not just in political conceptions, but also in communication technology and the ability of the MASS, Grass Roots if you like to understand and wish to participate in decisions of events that affect their daily lives, previously covered by their elected parliamentary representatives.
Of course the major change has been the result of Brexit, the decision taken by the mass of the electorate to LEAVE the EU. It takes little comprehension to realise that almost by definition the PURPOSE of UKIP has changed.
We have no intention of casting out the “Old” UKIP, an organisation that has achieved a political First (UKIP won a European election, forced the government to honour their promise of a referendum, WON that referendum ( we were and still are the only political party who did not oppose Brexit and supported a truly cross party organisation -LEAVE.eu)
Oh! a STUPENDOUS conclusion to a largely unanswerable campaign.
But there must now of necessity be a complete change of emphasis and PURPOSE. We say PURPOSE because there is now a considerable difference between a party formed to advocate Independence; and that to FIGHT for the implementation of that Independence. Even though Brexit is still assaulted by the usual suspects a combined conspiracy of WRECKERS (led by the EU, Blair, Soubrey, Mayand all the legacy parties and that Hungarian clever clogs) determined to thwart the expressed will of the majority of the population, don`t forget it was 17.4 PLUS million voters, 52% of the electorate. PLUS, I maintain PLUS, remember the FEAR campaign? How many voted Remain, cringing before the horific nonsense Cameron, Osborne and much of the establishment domestic and international pumped out. I say the real percentage could have been over 77% for LEAVE.
Anyway, we must believe we will get some some sort of divorce from the EU soon and so UKIP`s ro^le has changed forever. It may not be the CLEAN/COMPLETE Brexit we advocated – the complete return of all sovereignty, the booting out of the ECJ and the return of the ability to make our own laws in a British parliament, no longer subject to the tentacles of that body, The return of control over our own waters and fisheries.; we will be in our IMPLEMENTATION ro^le, we do not propose to outline it at this juncture, sufficient to say we have published an interim manifesto, particularly designed with the 2019 May local elections in mind and dealing with the relevance of your local concerns and how they are affected by events and measures taken in a national parliament whose record shows they have completely ignored the needs of those at local level and on whose votes they depend. They have sacrificed this trust and todied to their masters in the EU for 49 plus years.
The end of that system is now HERE and the new REVOLUTION must start at local level. The local legacy parties Labour/Lib Dems/Cons. are INFECTED with the taint of their discredited national masters at Westminster.
UKIP must replace them at Westminster, why not also make a start at local level in May next year.
The reason for this meeting was to gather together ideas for a local leaflet.
This is an introductory leaflet, We intend to be out and about in the market place and want to participate in a two way friendly and meaningful interaction where we will hope to hear exactly what your views and problems are, both locally and nationally and discover ways together to attend to them. This is an open invitation for you to get in touch and TALK or better still join us and swell the “People`s Army” which was a cross party body able to be “inclusive” rather than the diversivity to be found in the legacy parties.
One final thought I started off by inferring the hold of the EU must be smashed, eradicated out of our system, Our children are taught they are “children of the EU”, they are brainwashed in education and alienated from their families by all sorts of means including massive PC and Common Purpose, the same applies to Universities Government and most of the establishment, brainwashed with EUTHINK, this nation cannot fully function until this is gouged out of public life.
Oh “Kill the bed” – this is a technique taught by a certain Orthopaedic Bedding to their salespeople (who masquerade as semi professional advisers) that in a “learned “sales script at a certain point they must take the “sufferer” upstairs to the bed he/she currently sleeps on and say the magic phrase:-
“Oh my! there`s your source of trouble, you would be better taking that mattress off and putting it on the floor and sleeping there. Here let me help you take it off now”
That is what is known in the trade as “Killing the bed”, Just as the EU must be swept away, lock stock and barrel, much as Boris was urging in his fringe speech today, at last somebody is speaking out for a COMPLETE/CLEAN Brexit

I read in the DT today an article by Fraser Nelson, in that he pointed out as a boy he was a Catholic in a mixed Christian school and suffered “questioning and ostracism” as it was at the height of IRA action in N.Ireland and I believe in the UK, it seems he was “expected to condemn the IRA actions, as though he was somehow being a Catholic – responsible.
I juxtaposition this present situation of the perceived Hamas/Muslim backed atrocity as a similar sort of act, i.e. that all Muslims are the backers and beneficiaries of these crimes assumed to be committed on their behalf.
To be honest, I would not believe there are many Muslims in this country who would even approve of this terrorist invasion, never mind celebrate it as a move in “clearing the river” i.e. sweeping the Jews completely out of Israel into the sea…………..but unless they, as a body demonstrate physically and by voice their horror and condemnation of Hamas actions, they will be unable to shake off the silent and sometimes vocal questioning of their views.
All I can say is they wear a badge showing their condemnation, unfortunately I don`t really think that will work as they will be scared of physical violence or ostracism from their fellow religionists.
Perhaps it is better the authorities “know” who those are and prepared to come out on the streets and demonstrate, rather than be unaware of the “sleepers” who do not wish to show their hands.
One final thought, the Muslim community have “form” in this country in that they do not condemn and throw out those of their community committing acts like those of Rotherham and other towns and some practice treating their women folk as second class citizens or worse and are not prepared to heed British Law or Customs (Education particularly)
The UK independence Party is celebrating 30 years of existence, not 25 years as you put it, but apart from that I agree with everything else that you have said. However, who is the NEW UKIP? I think you mean Reform UK, only that party is nothing like the Old UKIP. First and foremost the UK Independence is a democratically run political party run by its member for its members, where the members are able to hold the leader to account and get rid of them if need be like we did with Henry Bolton. And of course the governing body of the party is the NEC which is made up of members. None of the above applies to Reform UK, which has two shareholders and the so called members do not have the usual rights which apply to other democratically run parties, and cannot rid themselves of the leader or appoint another. The way I look at it, a party which wants to reform the country but is wholly undemocratic itself has no right to making these demands of the country, and that is why I will continue to support the UK Independence Party, the original party of Independence from the European Union. Insofar as this site is concerned I wouldn’t go so far as describing it to be ‘moribund’ but it is disappointing that currently it has reduced days of publication to one or two days, but we were advised of this situation in advance. Perhaps the editor may consider handing the site over to somebody else who has the necessary time energy and skills to make a go of it.

Who would have thought that a sitting member of the SNP would defect to the Conservative Party of all parties. Sounds to me as if the Scottish National Party is in dire straits these days, having lost a recent by election to Labour and now this defection to the Conservative Party. It wouldn’t have anything to do with their latest leader would it? One might regard the SNP to be on the left wing of politics, but when it first came onto the scene I think it was originally a right wing party. So perhaps there should be no surprise that some SNP MP’s political home is still on the right. Yesterday I posted mentioning that something did not feel right about Israel’s apparent lack of preparedness; odd for a state whose existence depends on being on constant high alert. It has since been reported, though ignored by the MSM as far as I can see, that the Egyptian Defence Minister warned the Israelis ten days prior to the event that something big was brewing, and was ignored. Curiouser and curiouser.

As often, Religions and their attraction to the foolish, allways operate an organisation of one sort or another , and Islam with its rigid religious structure and even its own sort of book and education logic, is able to succeed, and don’t mind a bit of fear and slaughter. It doesn’t matter who.
It’s like Blaire says ” It’s education etc. ” is the only cure. But hanging on to the podium is also a useful skill provided its only glitter.
So Starmer needs ten years in Number 10 to fix Britain he said yesterday , well that’s us well and truly buggered then. But as Farage remarked ‘can they be any worse’ than the shambolic government we are having to endure at the moment where they don’t they’re arse from their elbow. If nothing else, I am looking forward to the day when Sunak is removed from Downing Street because he is as dire as they come, and the likes of Grant Schapps will lose their seats. That day cannot come quick enough in my book.

TG Spokes………….never feel sorry for a clown, and Starmer by virtue of Labour’s latest delusional conference proclamations has confirmed he is on par with Boris Johnson as a professional clown. I think he has signed his party’s political death warrant over not mentioning Immigration and how he will solve the English Channel migrant situation, and ‘bulldozing’ his way through planning regulations and ride roughshod over local resident objections to enable developers to build where they like. As much as I hate the Conservatives under Sunak, the Labour Party under Chairman Starmer is likely to be just as bad. The best part of his speech was when that chap jumped up on the stage and covered Starmer with glitter and putting his arms around the fool just about to give a speech. Starmer looked lost, the political lightweight that he is.
Just a couple of points. You need to take note of the slaughter that took place at a festival in the Israeli desert. Hamas slaughtered hundred of young civilians that were just having a party. Take note because one day this will be your family and children: you need to wake up!
It is coming to light that many of these Hamas activists were already in Israel under one guise or another and then they were activated under a highly organised plan. Britain, Europe and the US is being invaded by illegal immigrants. In Britain and probably Europe and the US these are military aged men, the vast majority anyway. In Britain, illegal immigrants arrive daily in increasing numbers by rubber boat, mainly military aged men of uncertain background.
Our successive governments couldn’t wait to sign the various international agreements that have made it almost impossible to defend our borders; still now they refuse to take robust action to defend our borders. Whoever our government represent, it is certainly not the British people; we must regard them as an enemy.
The British people soon – maybe this year, next year or in several years – pay the price for decades of complacency. One day soon, you will be mourning the loss of your children and other family members, they will be slaughtered without mercy.

But step back and there are some, whom Steyn does not dismiss out of hand, who smell a rat. Something isn’t right. Jake……….you will not be surprised to learn that I thought Farage’s speech was a rousing one, but perhaps not as great as those that he gave to the annual conferences as leader of the UK Independence Party in its heyday. And yes Farage went to great pains to acknowledge the efforts of Richard Tice for his time and energy and money over the years to keep the party afloat, but to lay it on the line that the party should get behind him to fight a general election campaign next year, dear oh dear absolutely not. Put simply Tice just hasn’t got a clue and will not take sufficient people with him to get even one seat in the House of Commons at the next general election, so he was right the party will not win the election, and nor will it get any seats. And Farage has finally put to bed any notion that he would take over the reins of leadership because he feels he can exert more influence from behind a microphone in a radio/tv studio than leading a party. Sorry Nigel, that is just a cop out, and a mighty big one at that. However, I was impressed by the large numbers present at the one day conference in London, but it is one thing preaching to the converted in a hall full of supporters, but quite another thing convincing the electorate. Somehow I don’t think the attendance at the impending UKIP conference will be anything like as big as the Reform UK one, but given the choice I would much prefer to support the UK Independence Party at the next general election because it is the original party of Independence in this country.
Colin Unfortunately, my constituency is bereft of UKIP activists let alone a branch, but there is an active youngish Reform group with a PPC in place. I’m going to help them all I can – no other choice available to me.
Jake…..that unfortunately is a situation that exists the length and breadth of the country in that most of the constituency associations that existed three years ago have been dissolved and instead there are county branches which is far too wieldy and cumbersome to administer. I am trying to change that situation in my neck of the woods but it is proving to be hard work trying to convince those in authority that splitting a county into two into two and using that as a springboard to re-establish local branches is the best way to go. To say they move slower than a snail is an understatement. They will have to pull their finger out, otherwise I might have to go elsewhere politically. Its a sorry state of affairs…..
